Pax Ianthe
Tagged; Ranulf, Honey and Turner.

"What's not funny, I wasn't making a joke or anything." he asked with a raised eyebrow "Lead the way." motioning his hands towards the direction they were walking. "First time no one's asked about my eyes, that's first." he said to himself, in slight shock. "Ah, I am Pax Ianthe, make up whatever nickname you want." he replies to her, eyeing the other girl catching up to Honey. "Turner, what an odd name for a gi- Wait, you're a guy? I am sorry I didn't know." his straight words were quickly betrayed by his face that was contorting into barely suppressed laughter. Swiftly placing his hand over his mouth, the sound seeped through his fingers, with tears slowly forming on the corner of his eyes.

After a laughing bout that lasted minutes, he used his finger to wipe a left over tear from his right eye. "I am sorry, you really look like a pretty woman." he said in apology, bowing once again. Quickly noting that Honey was escaping, he did a quick jog to catch up to pace. After catching up to her, he fished through his pockets and found his phone. Attaching the earphones he began listening to Reversed Pyromania, he also pulls up his hoodie, mindlessly following Honey hoping that she knew where it is.

Ranulf mostly kept his thoughts to himself, his stomach distracting him from saying anything in the first place. He was very, very hungry, especially after that workout back at the garden, and wanted nothing more than to tear into a stack of ribs and a nice Vale Burger. However, instead of screaming his anger and impatience to the world, the boy only watched the others, arms still crossed over his chest. As the whole 'Oh, you're a dude' scenario went down, a rugged grin began to pull on his lips, as Ranulf kept himself from laughing loudly. Finally, things were on their way, and they would finally make it to the cafeteria. With a minor glance back, towards the other students, Ranulf frowned and rested his hands in his pockets, following after the other group. At this point, he didn't even care if the others didn't get to eat tonight. It was around the time to find a staff person and just ask, and if they didn't find the dining hall soon, then he'd break off and go find it himself. Usually, he was a bit more vocal and violent with his annoyance, but hunger was stopping him. only a tad, however. When a guy began to move across their group, brushing shoulders with Ranulf, the red-haired boy was about to turn around and kick the guy through a wall, until a growl from his stomach stopped him, and forced him to solider on.

After hearing her accept his apology, Moss smiled warmly and said, "Ok, have a good day!" Though satisfied with having settled things, he couldn't help but feel that he'd forgotten something... "Ah right," he thought as his stomach growled. "I need to find out where the cafeteria is!" Before she could turn and walk away, he quickly asked her. "Ah! Um, sorry to bother you again, but could you lead me to the cafeteria? I tend to get lost." It wasn't like he was bad with directions, more just that he found a lot of things more interesting than just walking. It was like how he kept forgetting to ask for names; the people themselves were just really interesting to him.

and some others.

Not saying anything more to the others, as her focus was on finding food, Honey continued walking towards the where she remembered the ballroom to be. Looking around her, she saw the slightly blurred shapes of the few students who were still roaming about, and wondered what their faces looked like, wishing she could see them as she could back when she was younger.

Honey held the door open for whoever was behind her, and began strolling casually through the halls. Suddenly she remembered something she had wanted to ask Turner. Spinning fully around and walking backwards, she would open her mouth to say something but crashed into a hard object before she could get a word out. Her feet slipped, and she started to fall forward except something reached out and grabbed her arm, steadying her.

When she got her footing back, her head turned as she wanted to thank whoever had kept her from falling. "Oh ah... thank you for-- OHMAGAWD!" Her thank was cut off as she saw who it was, shreiking and hopping away.

"Are you alright, Miss Lawson?"

"Ah, well.. uh, I- You..." Face turning red, Honey stepped farther away from Ozpin. She was beyond embarassed as she couldn't tell what kind of expression he had on his face. Though she was sure he was mad. "I'm so sorry... I r-ran into you!" she said. Oh gosh, how does he even know my name? she wondered, head spinning from it all.

"It's quite alright. Though I would advise you walk properly to keep from causing an accident." he said, stepping closer to her and placing a hand on her shoulder. "All the first years are to gather in the ballroom, just down the hall here. There is dinner being served there. I advise you all eat and get well rested." He said, addressing the group then.

"Y-yes sir!" Honey managed to say through her nervousness.

After nodding, his hand would lift from Honey's shoulder as he stepped around her. Shifting his mug from the hand that held his cane as well, to his free hand. He sipped the drink in his mug and strolled off in a different direction without another word. Ranulf glanced back at the others of the group, nodding once, before trudging on. Food was calling.

Honey's knees were shaking and she walked back into a wall before sliding down and covering her face in her hands. "Of all the ways to have a first impression!! I totally failed!" she wailed dramatically. "My life is over. I'll never get him to--" he head lifted as she smelled food. Jumping to her feet, her eyes widened. "I smell food! Lets go!" she would say to the others before dashing off towards the ballroom.
From behind, entering the ballroom as Ozpin left, a very small, brightly colored girl appears before Honey.
"You do realise he was the headmaster when my Grandpa was a little kid, right?"

Honey stopped in her running and looked at the girl who stood before her. Narrowing her eyes, Honey tilted her head to the side. "Move it pipsqueak. You're seperating me and my food." she said, stepping around the girl and ignoring the comment about Ozpin's age. Honey quickly entered the ballroom and dissapeared inside amongst the mass of students.

Nor smirked as he watched the scene unfold glad to seen Kanika had seemed to have found a new target to focus her robust attentions on. He could see a possible time bomb coming to a head, but he figured it'd be safer to keep back for the time. He'd step in if it got out of hand, but he could use the entertainment. Though something about the new addtion tickled something in the back of his mind, feeling he'd seen her somewhere before, but the memory evaded him for the moment.

With Pax finally catching up to Honey's pace, What a quick one. he said, yawning lazily after expending alot of reserved energy. Managing to catch the last part of girl he didn't know saying something about her Grandpa. Pax, in his confusion, "Who's the midget? he accidently said outloud rather than thinking.

Suddenly, without warning, Kanika struck. going from her rather excessive but friendly demeanour to a blank expression of rage. The pint-sized brawler launched herself from a standing position, delivering a closed-handed strike to the pretty-boys chest, followed by a kick to the stomach at lightning speed.
"I may be short, but I'm no midget."
she says, an er calmness in her voice as she lands once more on the ground, cracking her knuckles loudly

Pax was on the floor, he had activated his semblance too late. Groaning all the while, then realizing that the floor was really comfy, he almost fell asleep there but regained his composure and stood up, clutching his stomach, Well then, fighting back's too troublesome. The soothing call of the warm, yet subtly cold floor called out to him, he laid back down in false groans. "You got me, zzz" he managed to utter before entering light slumber.

"Get of the floor, you pansey."
the small girl shouts, kicking him roughly in the side.
"We're just getting started."

Ranulf hummed cheerfully within his mind, walking over to the condiments section of the ballroom, a large tray stacked with delicious beef burgers balanced on one hand. A fight was going on near the entrance of the room...a very small girl had apparently knocked out a taller, leaner young man...Sax? Whatever...the guy could take care of it. He was around Ranulf's own age. However, seeing something he detested in fights - ground kicks, especially against a defenseless opponent, the boy frowned and walked over to the scene, not bothering to look at the fighters, other than a sidelong, arched eyebrow-glare at the small girl. He simply grabbed the purple-haired dude...Pax, right? By the collar, and continued to his seat.

Nor sighed again, more deeply as he watched another scene unfold, rubbing his temple and staying quiet through it all.

"WEAK!"
Kanika yells, slouching her shoulders dejectedly and making her way towards the buffet, comandeering an entire plate of fried scallops before making her way to a random table.

The scream had managed to jolt Pax awake, shaking himself off of Ranulf's grip, he began dusting himself off, Kicking a person when he's done, ouch. Though the smell of food allured him, and he forgot the slight pain for a while. He sets down on a table where Ranulf began literally wolfing down on his food. "Great table side manners." he said sarcastically before propelling off to the buffet.

Grabbing a plate, he put one of almost everything down and began to walk back, trying to avoid the ever-watchful gaze of the scary midget. Propping back down to the table, he began eating slowly, and watchful of her. He did notice some students eyeing him for some unbeknownst reason, slyly activating his azure blue aura, and producing it around him managed to pry the eyes away.

Ranulf snorted, swallowing a large chunk of chicken. Dropping the picked-clean bone, the red-haired boy looked over to Pax, his gaze narrowing, almost turning crimson in it's intensity. "How'd you lose to a sucker-punch?" He spoke up, annoyance coating his tone as he closed his eyes, grabbing another chicken leg, and biting the entire top piece off.

With a shrug, "Didn't start anything nor waste energy, it's precious y'know." he said, in between bites.

"Hmph. Bullshit." Ranulf chewed the food, before swallowing it all. A smirk was on his lips, however, taking any real bite out of the words. A little girl with a punch strong enough to floor a pretty well-built dude. "God damn it." He had a feeling that it would become a bitch to deal with later on. Ranulf glanced over to the exit as he chewed. Where would they be going after this?

"Did you just 'hmph', what are you, a tsundere." he scoffed at the red head. "Oh was your name Rudolph by the way?"

"Fuck off." Ranulf didn't even bat an eyelash, gulping down the rest of his water, before crushing the can in his fist. Recycling's important, right? "Name's Ranulf, Pac-Man."

"Yeah that's what I said Rudolph the red nosed-" he cut himself off with light snickering before engrossing himself with food again, activating his semblance so that he could react to any violent repurcussions.

Ranulf's right eyebrow twitched, before he blatantly picked up a piece of lettuce from his side-salad. Crunching it into his ball, the boy stood, before twisting and sending it blasting forward like a bullet, straight at Pax's temple. "Rudolph this." Without pausing, he grabbed another lettuce-ball, sending it flying forward with a crack of the shoulder.

Dodging it ever so 'gracefully', with a sigh, "Be civilized, Rudolph."
he said, "My semblance is on already, chill." also slightly rousing his aura around him.

Ranulf frowned, slowly breathing out. His now crimson eyes calmed down to their usual intense orange, and he sat, brushing stray lettuce off of his plate of meat. "Dick." He growled, taking another bite out of his burger.

~Later that night~

As the night dragged on and the other first years around her began to sleep, Honey had a tough time falling out, despite her tummy being full of the yummy goodness that had been served for dinner. Honey was still thinking about her failed first impression with Ozpin. She was telling herself things weren't all lost. She was forced into that awkward situation by bad luck. There was still time.. this was only day one, and not all hope was lost.

"I'll have his heart yet!" she shouted excitedly, getting complaints from a few others who were trying to sleep. After mumbling an apology, Honey felt content to try for sleep again. Closing her eyes, she relaxed and allowed sleep to consume her.
"Still creepy!"
Kanika shouts, burying her head in a turtle shaped pillow. Only causing Honey to mutter a curse to herself in anger.

"Would all first year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation. Again, all first year students, report to Beacon Cliff, immediately."
Goodwitch

The next day, Honey was walking through the room where many students had apparently placed their things. They had been assigned lockers to keep, who knows what inside. Her only goal was to just locate her locker: Number 144 it was. After finding it and memorizing how to get to it, the message from Goodwitch rang through the room.

"Beacon Cliff? Where is that?" she wondered aloud as she started to follow some students who were leaving. Then she thought to check that she had everything she needed. The rumors of initiation and teams were all troubling ones. Apparently it was going to be tough, and Honey had to make sure she was combat ready.

Unnoticed, Kanika slips out, following Honey towards the locker room
"She seems interesting enough,"
the huntress in traiing thinks to herself, stopping briefly at locker #9 to strap on her greave and gauntlets. the small girl slips a few extra magazines into her belt pooches, following after the silver haired girl once again.

Checking Seraphine and making sure she had plenty of ammo, it took Honey only a short time to prepare herself. All she needed now, was the confidence that she could do this. After training to hard to get into Beacon, she wasn't going to let anything keep her from going to the school. One day in and she already never wanted to leave.

And hell, she hadn't even gotten a chance to kill anything yet.

Following the few to Beacon Cliff, Honey lined up with all of them, noticing Ozpin standing only a few feet away from her. Face turning red, she looked down at her feet and stayed quiet, hoping she wouldn't be noticed. Watching as some others she remembered from yesterday had come to stand with her, she was less nervous. A lot of these guys looked really cool all geared up, and her curiosity temporarily made her forget her nervousness.

As Honey stepped into line, so too did the brightly haired terror, standing immediately to her left. Honey noticed this and gave a smile to the girl, also waving nicely, she recieved a toothy grin and a thumbs up in return as the bright eyed girl prepard herself to be launched

For years you have trained to become warriors, and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."
Ozpin

Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."
Goodwitch

These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.

After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.

You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene.

You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. Well, thats enough from me. Are there any questions? Good, now take your positions."
Ozpin

Looking down at the platform she was standing on, Honey wondered what in the world they were for. Then suddenly a loud woosh was heard and someone was literally launched into the sky. Pink eyes widening, Honey smiled. "Nice!"

Unhooking Seraphine from her belt, Honey reached into a small pouch at her leg and pulled out a few dust bullets, arming her weapon with them before crouching. "Always wanted to fly!" she would say before being launched into the sky herself.

NORSUN

Nor let out a long yawn as Ozpin went on with his speech. He'd barely managed to get any sleep last night in the ballroom, the close proximity of so many people having given him a nervous energy throughout the nights. He'd spent most of his time after eating simply taking Jet Stream apart piece by piece and cleaning it, making sure it would be ready for whatever came the next day.

Soon after Ozpin had finished his speech, Nor heard a sharp noise followed by screaming, watching as the first student sailed through the air towards the the Emerald Forest, the catapults setting off quickly behind one another. "You've gotta be kidding," he groaned, his eyes telling him much to the contrary. He took a moment to take position as the sounds came closer, unleashing Jet Stream a moment before being whisked through the air at a break neck speed.

He found the experience rather pleasant, the odd weightlessness much like the feeling of being out in the ocean. Unfortunately he could see the ground quickly approaching. Nor tried to look for some way to increase his chances of survival. He wouldn't have much chance to use the trees to help as he could see he was going to just barely pass over them in favor of a small clearing in forest.

Nor cringed at the thought of what came next. This wasn't going to be what anyone would call elegant, but it'd get the job done. Nor's icy aura flared to life as he pulled on the use of his semblance, his the curves of his face and hands seeming to take on crystallized edges, feeling the pull of gravity increase as his body grew heavier and harder, watching as the meadow came closer.

He quickly began to notice his descent increasing rapidly, suddenly the edges of the trees peeking into his sight. Too late Nor realized his little effort had caused gravity to tighten her grip on him, bring him face to face with the last tree before the clearing. Instinct guided him has he placed Jet Stream in front of him to take some of the blow, the tree making a splintering noise as he met it, a sharp pain glancing through his left arm.

______________________________________________

Nor came to a few moments later on his back, looking around to see himself surrounded by what seemed to be a small crater, surrounded by tree limbs and leaves. He took an inventory, noting a few scratches as bruises, but nothing worth worrying over. Nor took a moment to gather his strength before standing up, a gasp escaping as a sharp pain in his left shoulder sent him reeling. He could see the appendage hanging limp at his side, the arm obviously dislocated. He'd need to reset the damn thing before he did anything.

Grunting with effort, Nor climbed out of the hole he'd made, observing his landing zone, noting his weapon was off to the side, the head of he mace practically buried in the soft ground. He left it for the moment, opting instead to go to a near tree. The tree had split into near the base of the trunk, form a nice wedge. He placed his wrist in the space, gritting his teeth in the effort. This brought him pause, taking a moment to take off the mask, tossing it to the ground before grabbing a particularly thick stick. Nor's brought it to his mouth, his jaws extending farther than any humans would, lips peeling back to reveal row after row of serrated teeth, placing the branch in his mouth and biting down hard, the wood splintering. Satisfied with the effort, Nor began pulling at the limb, a muffled scream coming from him as he tried to realign his shoulder.

Kanika

A loud snap, a blur of colors, and the fun-sized killing machine was off, rocketing ahead of the other students as her semblance granted her much greater velocity.
THIS IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!
the girl shouts at the top of her lungs, an impossible smile upon her face. As she flew, Kanika spotted the boy Nor, whom she had spent much of the previous day bothering incessantly. As he landed, he knocked himself unconscious, seemingly injuring himself in the process.
Ooh, nice wipe-out. hope he's okay."
she ponders
"Eh, not my problem."
Once she begins to drop, Kanika unleashes a flurry of strikes at the air, unleashing a storm of sparking bullets to slow her descent before nearing a tree, the spherical guards on her gauntlets released, and the technicolor bruiser began to bulldoze through trees one at a time before coming to a rest neatly on the forest floor. brushing barkdust from hr shoulder, she turn around, wandering back towards Nor.
"Better check on the poor bastard.
The student mutters, walking through the forest towards the impact crater. Moments later, she hears an unfamiliar hissing noise.
"Ooh, I hap that's what I think it is."
she squees internally, turning to lock eyes with the massive snake. A silent fist pump, and she was off, launching herself towards a nearby tree and running vertically up the wooden surface, the girl glowed with a spiraling rainbow of color, rapidly blurring until the beast could no longer track her movement as she threw herself off skyward off of a branch. seconds later, she returned with the full force of gravity, delivering a vertical spinning kick with her spiked greave, the sheer momentum of which shattered the bony plates coating the Taijitu's head. with that done, she ran along its spine towards the second snake, once again becoming a neon blur as she impacted the second head, ripping off its lower jaw whilst speeding past. she paused a moment, lightheaded as her aura began to run low "One more pass..."
she mutters under her breath before rushing the beast, leaping upwards towards its dismemembered mouth, sh slammed its jaw back place sideways, embedding the teeth through the roof of its mouth and into its brain.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak."
she shouts, performing a heel-face turn and resuming her path towards Nor's persnal crater.

Turner

Turner stood on the square in the ground, arms folded, listening intently to Ozpin's instructions. Okay, find a partner, find a relic, stay alive. Wait a minute, how where they going to get to the- OH GOD WE'RE BEING THROWN IN THE AIR!?!?!? Turner watched as a student got flung in the air, then Honey, then a guy in a gas mask. Turner quickly realised it would be him after the girl to his left was flung forward. Turner drew his blade and split it into two swords before bracing himself to be thrown in the air. 3... 2... 1... Bam. He was being thrown into the air as well.

Turner felt the wind rush past him and against him as he flew in the sky, the forest blurring away below him. With a smirk, Turner briefly enjoyed it for a while before he realised he was descending again. Turner shot putted the sword in his left hand, whizzing downwards until it made a resounding thump in the trunk of a tree. After hearing it Turner pulled the sword in his right hand back, making the sword handles get closer through the wire that now made the weapon work like an automatic grappling hook, reeling the two ends closer together. Turner curled up and put his boots to the trunk when he finally reached it, the sword hilts connecting, forming the double edged sword staff mode of Kaminari Inazuma. Turner flipped off of the tree, pulling out the weapon out of the trunk and landing on his feet.

This forest was quite dense, and Turner was doubtful he was going to find anyone soon. Turner wandered around for a bit, not really finding anything and spent his time listening to the sound of the forest like birds and stuff. Turner scanned high and low for any sign of another student but none could be found. Turner's attention was quickly drawn to the sound of rustling and a low growling sound. He spun around and was immediately faced by an Ursa charging out of a bush, making Turner instinctively roll out of the way. Turner pointed the tip of his blade at the Ursa who turned around to Turner and made another charge. Turner stabbed the blade into the ground and used it as leverage to leap over the Ursa. Misjudging the leap slightly, Turner actually found himself on top of the Ursa! Turner split the blade staff in to two and the blades folded out either way, revealing the hidden gun barrel, the barrel snapped over so the two weapons resembled a gun. Turner turned on top of the Ursa to face it's front and fired the machine pistols into the Grimm. Turner leapt off of it's back and the blades folded back together so they became two swords again. The weakened Ursa turned towards Turner and got up on it's hind legs and let out a roar of defiance before slicing the air with it's claws towards Turner, taking one step at a time with every swing. Turner waited a couple of moments before blocking a swing from the left and Turner thrusted his right arm forward, stabbing the bear creature in the head. Turner pulled the blade out and took a couple of steps back, forming Kaminari Inazuma into it's great sword mode by snapping the side of the blades together, and placing it in it's sheath on Turner's back. Satisfied, Turner went back to jogging through the forest, awaiting the next confrontation or hopefully an actual student.

Ranulf Edom
Forest
Tagged;; Grimms

Oh...so they were being blasted into the sky, above the forest, right? As he watched others being blasted into orbit, Ranulf began to grin - and no, it wasn't a cheerful, happy grin. It was a slow, yet wide grin, showing the boy's impressive canines despite not being a Faunus. His dark orange eyes began to narrow, and with a clench of his fists, Demon Magnolia, in hisses of metal on metal, unwrapped itself out of their ring forms, forming the demonic, dark crimson gauntlets on Ranulf's forearms and fists. The boy cocked his arms back slightly, releasing two spent explosive rounds from the gauntlets' bottom slot before cracking his neck. As Headmaster Ozpin passed by his launch pad, Ranulf only had one thing to say.

"Hope you have insurance for this forest." The launch pad activated, and he whooped as he flew miles into the air, his grin growing significantly as he preformed a few twists and flips as he reached the pinnacle of the launch. Still at the pinnacle, Ranulf punched the air to his right, sending out explosive bullets that shot him through the air, flying over the forest's treetops. A few more recoil shots and he was beginning to lose altitude. "Let's get started." He flipped upside down, crimson hair flying through the air as he aimed his gauntlets towards the sky. His arms practically became blurs as he released a flurry of left and right jabs, each one sending out explosive rounds from the gauntlets, making his descension all the more faster and faster until he was a blur of red and exploding bullets.

Down in the forest clearing, a family of Beowolves were viciously tearing into a surprisingly non-Grimm bear, ripping out large chunks of the dark red meat. However, as large, explosive banging sounds slowly got closer and closer, the dozen or so Grimms slowly glanced around wearly, before going back into their food - cautious, now. However, the whistling sound got even closer, and before they could even growl, something slammed into the middle of their lunch, fists plowing into the ground, sending an inferno of blazing hot fire blasting around it like a shockwave, singing the Beowolves and sending multiple bodies flying into trees. At the same time, a small, red and black device landed in a nearby treetop, directly in a bird's nest. Music began playing.

Ranulf slowly stood, a grin on his face as he glanced around. "I knew I smelled something." He cracked his neck to the side, before slowly lowering himself into a crouch. The Beowolves had gotten out of the trees, some limping, and others growling viciously. There were a lot...but enough for him to handle without much problems. "Ya' got two minute on the clock, mutts." Ranulf exhaled slowly, before blasting towards the nearest Grimm, setting off a chain-reaction of lunges and growls. As his left fist slammed into Beowolf One's midsection, folding it over and breaking every single bone, an explosion accompanied it, blowing it's back and spine out into the bushes, while the recoil slammed Ranulf's arm back, the elbow breaking through the forehead of the lunging Beowolf Two.

Twisting, Ranulf grinned, playfully distracting the hissing-in-pain Beowolf with two quick jabs to the shoulder, before rearing back and launching a haymaker that exploded on impact, blasting the head brutally off, while a lightning-quick kick sent the rest of the Grimm's body flying into another lunging Beowolf. Twisting sharply, Ranulf's knee slammed right into Beowolf Three's chin, sending it flying up, where three vicious, explosive punches pulverized it's mid-section, finished off with brutal kick that sent it flying into a tree, plowing straight through the wood, and into the rest of the forest. Beowolf Four managed to tackle into Ranulf's back, causing the boy to growl and twist around, grabbing the Beowolf by the fur on it's head, and slam it repeatedly into the ground until there was nothing but a smear. Beowolf Five and Six tackled him at that moment, and it became an all-out slug fest - with most of the slugs being thrown by Ranulf. A few seconds passed, and in the end, the two Beowolves were smears.

Standing, with his shirt now slightly ripped, but a vicious grin still on his face, Ranulf cracked his neck. As the next large group of adult Beowolves charged, Ranulf slowly raised his hands, his grin stretching. "Try harder!" With a challenging roar, Ranulf slammed his fists together, his eyes widening, fire blasting around his body in a stretching inferno of crimson aura. The lunging Beowolves were thrown back from the force, fur singed and whines emanating from their throats. Ranulf slowly glanced over, his eyes now pure crimson, and his form surrounded by a blazing crimson aura. "Don't be scared. Fight me. Who the Hell do you think I am?!" He blurred forward, speed immensely increased.

What followed next was a brutal, ruthless beatdown. Anyone vaguely nearby could hear the music, the growls and occasional laugh from Ranulf, and the roars of pain and growls of rage from the dying Beowolves. Not to mention, the occasional inferno of fire that blasted from that specific clearing.

It wasn't until Honey was only god knows how high above the ground, did she realize she was better off feeling earth beneath her feet. The blurry figures of other students falling around her was an unnerving sight, and it caused her initial excitement of flying to immediately be replaced with fear. She was too focused on trying to get back on the ground where she could 'see' better, rather than bothering to scream. Though screaming was definately something she thought about. But I can't let Ozpin see me afraid like that. ...Breathe, play it cool, you got this. she told herself in her head.

Luckily the giant ass trees were something that she could see, despite her poor eyesight, and even going at the speed she was, she could manage a bumpy landing. As her body entered the forest, getting attacked by branches that snagged bits of her hair, Honey angled her body so that Seraphine was between her legs, in a position almost like her weapon was a pogo stick. As a tree neared, Honey fired a shot from Seraphine, the impact with the tree leaving a big enough hole through the trunk so that her still falling body could slip directly through it. The next tree, Honey didn't fire at it. Seraphine took the impact for her, and as her weapon hit, she used the momentum to propel herself to the side, feet catching onto a different tree. She repeated this action, hopping from tree to tree until she was close enough to the ground to simply drop down with no harm.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, her pink eyes closed and she dashed off in the direction of north. Gripping Seraphine in her left hand as she ran, Honey would keep her eyes closed as her semblance was now activated. She kept the distance minimal as she only needed to know the positions of anything near her immediate location. Jumping over a bush as she saw its vibrations in her mind, Honey noted that there was someone close to her position, about a half mile to her left, and going in the wrong direction-- no, they turned. The other thing she noted was a threesome of ursa closing in on her position, likely stirred by the sound of her weapon. They were moving fast, closing in on her and following her as if they could smell her.

Which, considering she smelled heavily of flowers, was not too surprising.

Honey slowed her running and eventually stopped in a small clearing. A smile made its way onto her features and her eyes opened to look around her. Bringing Seraphine up to rest on her shoulder, she placed her free hand on her hip. "Oooh this place is a nice camping spot. I wana go camping now!" she said out loud to herself. She was waiting for the ursa to converge on this spot, and then she would finally get a chance to bash in some grimm heads with her weapon. Humming as she skipped along the clearing, she heard the three beasts coming long before they were anywhere near her. Oh this place makes a perfect stage for me to show off my skills to Ozpin too! she thought exicitedly, hopping in place a few times. At this point she stopped her skipping and closed her eyes again. One of the ursa was ahead of the other two, and running up directly behind her. Please let him be watching me...

The roar of the ursa behind her was loud, and in her head, she saw the thing lunge for her. "Aaand, cue the music!" she shouted excitedly. Grinning, Honey jumped directly up, opening her eyes as her semblance helped none without her feet touching the ground. The ursa had run right under her, and as she fell, she landed on its back. Bringing Seraphine down and placing the muzzle directly on the ursa's head, she pulled the trigger, an ice dust bullet launched itself into the beasts head, ice shards jutting out its head in all directions. "Look, I made you so pretty!" she said, riding the thing as its body carried out the last motions its brain had sent to it. Eventually the beast fell and Honey had to hop down off its back and face the two that had made it to the clearing. As her feet touched the ground, her eyes closed momentarily, more like a long blink than anything significant. She spun on her heel and faced another ursa as it ran at her. Bringing Seraphine up with her left hand, she sidestepped the thing, hitting it to the side and sending it flying away from the force of her mace hitting it.

Honey's happy and excited expression never left her face, and she knelt on one knee, aiming Seraphine at the ursa who was standing there, looking confused as hell as to how his buddies had been so easily defeated. "No performance is fit without fireworks!" she squealed happily, firing a bunch of shots towards the ursa. The first few were fire dust bullets that exploded as they hit, the next being a lightning dust bullet that zapped the thing right where it stood. Running forward, Honey would use the distraction of the bullets and the temporary paralysis to get close to it, gripping Seraphine with both hands now. "And now, GET OFF MY STAGE!" she shouted, turning and swinging her weapon like a baseball bat, smashing the beast in its chest and sending it flying farther away like its buddy from before. The beast wailed and fell, not looking like it was going to get back up ever again.

"And that's a home run!" she said, bringing her hand up to her head and looking out in the distance to where the thing finally came to a stop. "Ha, piece of cake." the girl said happily, twirling her heavy weapon and turning around. The last ursa, the one she simply knocked away from before suddenly was in the clearing, and Honey was surprised to see it came back for more."Whoops. Sorry big guy, I already did the grande finale. Shows over." she said to it, raising a brow and waiting for it to do something. It just growled and started running towards her, and Honey rolled her eyes.

"You could just say you wanted an encore."

Closing her eyes momentarily, Honey would wait until just the right moment before jumping into the air, flipping and landing behind the thing as it just kept running. Quick to recover, the ursa swung around and clawed at Honey, a move which she narrowly blocked by bringing Seraphine up, the muzzle of her weapon connecting with the claws of the beast. Firing her last shot into the hand of it, an ice dust bullet caused a giant shard of ice to jut out from the paw of the thing. It roared in pain and Honey smirked. Shifting her position, she gripped her weapon like a bat again and hit the arm of the ursa, sending the thing towards itself. The sound of flesh being pierced was exactly what Honey wanted to hear. The ice shard in its claw had gotten stuck right in the neck of the thing. Slowly the best fell backward and Honey hopped up onto its belly. "Nailed it." she said stretching and hopping down after a moment.

Gosh, I hope Ozpin was watching that... I wonder if he liked my performance. she thought as her feet began moving and Honey was walking away from the clearing. "That was so fun!" she squealed as she began to skip her way around, pink eyes closing, and a happy smile on the girls face.

"Landing strategy, that means to just stop flying doesn't it?" he said with a slightly raised eyebrow. With a shrug, he calls Promessa and with that he was lunched off in the air, What a beautiful view. Eyeing a part of the forest, he shoots an explosive shot upwards that arcs his flight downwards, he was now rapidly falling towards the clearing.

Aiming Promessa towards the ground and then shooting two consecutive explosive rounds, he managed to reduce his descent but he was still falling. Switching Promessa to her second form, the purple blade hissed ever so slightly. Pax strikes downwards and striking seven times in a span of time, he lands with a roll. Could use some work, but hey i am still alive. Clearing the 'test' to land 'alive', he noticed slight movement in the bushes and with a Here we go. he listens to music, again and switching Promessa back to her first form.

Pax began by shooting upwards with one hand, followed by a beowolf dropping down dead behind Pax. Two more lunged to his right, and with a back-flip he dodges, shadowed by two shots while genuflecting, both dropped dead. Switching Promessa to her secondary form again, he swings in a wide arc while turning around, two more bodies decorated the ground. Another beowolf drops down from a tree, but Pax rolls out of the way, changing Promessa to her first form yet again and aiming towards the lunging beowolf.

Five lunged out of nowhere, all lunging with a tenacious speed "Coordinated attack, smart but not enough." he said in slight surprise rousing his aura, the energy formed crackled around him. He then activates his semblance, and quickly tags all five of them with his 'bullet time' like sequence. They all dropped on the ground, when Pax turned around with a bored yawn "This is just moving target practice with a touch of swordsmanship training." he mutters, with three more lunging at him.

Turner, still a bit ticked off at the fact he was mistaken for a girl, kept jogging through the Forest. He sighed as yet again, no one or nothing could be seen. This was getting boring, well, Grimm could attack him at any moment but the young lad felt like since the fight with the Ursa to now, its been a whole lot of nothing going on. Then, the sound of gunfire made his ears perk and caught Turners attention. Hopefully it was a person who was not dying like Ozpin said "could" happen if they weren't careful. Turner immediately went to the direction of the gunfire, the sound of someone fighting a Grimm growing closer.

As Honey skipped around with her eyes closed, swinging Seraphine around in her hand, she was totally at ease. Though as someone entered the range of her semblance, she paused in her walking.

"Oooh, who might that be?" she wondered, using her semblance to focus in on the person. Though the image in her head was not in color, the familiar hair and overall clothing of the person seemed familiar. Opening her eyes and moving in that direction, a smile was on her face when she realized who it was. Strapping Seraphine to her belt on her left side, she started to run in the direction she had saw him.

That's Turner, without a doubt. I'm so excited we'll get to be partners! That is... if I get to him first. she thought, doing a little hop of excitement.

As she neared where he was, and his dark blue mass of hair came into a blurry view, Honey lunged forward towards him. "OOOONIII-CHAAAAAN!" she squealed as she ran up and jumped on him, accidently bashing her forehead against his as she did.

Turner saw the brief outline of what looked like Honey, which seemed increasingly closer. Now rapidl- Ow! Turner hit the floor with a resounding thud, letting out an "Oomph" at the same time. When Turner eventually looked up, rubbing his now sore head at the same time, he saw that it was indeed Honey who yelled "Oni-Chan" and headbutted him. "Oh, it's you Honey." He said, looking left and right , checking his surroundings. "I guess we're partners now." The boy stated, remembering what Professor Ozpin said about the formation of teams. "At least, that's what Ozpin meant, I think?" Turner added, voicing his own thoughts to Honey.

Grinning as Honey rolled off of him, she also rubbed her head as a red mark formed there. "True, he did say that. So when I saw you, I was excited!" she said happily.

Sitting up and placing her hands on her knees, Honey would get back on her feet, extending a hand down and helping Turner up as well. "It's gonna be so much more fun with the two of us!" she said, bouncing on her toes.

Turner chuckled as he was pulled up by Honey, listening to her as she seemed, once again, hyperactive as possible. "Well, I'm glad you think so."" He said with a smile.

"So, "partner", where do you think we'll find the relics?" The blue-haired boy asked.

"Well, Ozpin said that the relics are to the northern end of the forest. If we head in that direction, we should end up reaching the temple." Honey replied to his question, for a moment actually sounding serious.

"I wonder what kind of relics they are? Maybe its some yummy food!" she said doing another little hop before starting to walk in the northern direction.

Turner shook his head, smiling, as Honey skipped away happily again. This would either be the best year ever or the longest ever. Turner followed, drawing his weapon into its duel sword form. "Let's just keep our eyes open, Honey." Turner advised, hoping she was listening.

The pale faunus groaned into the branch as he continued to try and reset his arm, an audible popping noise signaling it replacement. However it was mostly drowned out by the profanity streaming forth from Nor as he bit through the branch in his mouth, spitting out rather unpleasant looking mixture of saliva, blood, and few teeth as well, gingerly taking his arm out from between the wood, taking a few deep breaths before flexing his hand, testing the arm.

Following the stream of profanity, Kanika arrives at the crater watching silently as Nor fixes his dislocated shoulder,
"Nice landing,"
the miniature marauder says, grinning madly.
"I'd rate it a solid 8/10"
Stepping towards the fanus boy, she offered a hand
"Partners, I suppose?"

Nor groaned, looking around in the hopes there was someone around he could switch in before sighing in defeat, moving to take the offered, defiantly using his injured arm as he shook it, keeping silent as pained look crossed his face. " I suppose somebody's gotta baby sit ya, shrimp," he replied as he ruffled her head with his other hand, a cheeky grin showing off his now revealed visage. In response, she emitted a slight murring sound for a brief moment before regaining her composure

The act reminded him of his mask, looking around to see where it had landed, "don't suppose you've seen my accessory laying about," his tone casual. Nor had picked up that he wasn't the first Faunus with outstanding features she'd met, relieving most of the anxiety he held.

"Afraid not, I would lend you my rebreather, but I left
the girl says, shaking firmly
"No need to worry about me, pilikua. I can handle myself
with that, she looks up to the sky
"Let me see, is sun east-west or west-east? I can never remember...
she mutters, tapping her fingers against the armored greave on her right leg impatiently, trying to remember
"So much easier to navigate back home, ocean is east, and you can see it from a mile away."
the girl complains loudly, turning to look at Nor.

Nor had already started walking off away in the opposite direction of the cliff, retrieving Jet Stream along the way, he'd seen she was started on another rant and figured if she was going too spend the next half hour talking, they may as well be moving. "C'mon Shrimp, we're burning day light, and I doubt it's back the way we came," he said with a chuckle as he looked back to see if she'd noticed her audience was missing.

As Nor departs, Kanika follows, silent for once as she constantly scans their surrondings for signs of trouble
"You said you worked salvage before Beacon, right?
the technicolor girl inquires suddenly, still watching the forest for enemies or other students

Nor nodded at the question, holding Jestream at the ready on one shoulder, his other hand in his mouth as tugged at another tooth, the damn wiggled annoying the shit out of him, "Yeah, ish een ah aht of the famiwee as wong as-" with a grunt of effort he pulled loose another tooth, small bit of blood hanging on, "as I've been alive, so born breed I suppose," he finished, contemplatively staring at it before grinning at his tailer, "Don't suppose you want a souvenir, I hear some places Faunas bits can fetch a good price." His tone was a casual one, but his body was obviously tensed, waiting for a sign of Grimm.

"Nah, I only keep teeth I personally knock out of people."
she says, waving a hand dramatically.
"Say, you've got the teeth, any other fancy faunus abilities? Zal's got this thing where he can breath underwater. No nightvision, though."
she asks as they continue along the path towards the temple, occasionally kicking at a rock on the ground while they went.

Nor laughed as he tossed the piece of himself into the brush, "I imagine you must have an extensive-"

As Nor began to speak, a terrible rumbling arose, and from the sidelines emerged a pack of heavily armored swine. one of them charged the pair,
"What the ever living fuck is that thing?"
Kanika shouts as she dives right, narrowly avoiding the beasts razor-sharp tusks with a sideways roll

Nor avoided the charging Grimm as he used Jetstream's chain shot to pull himself into a tree above, The mace quickly enveloping his arm as a bright glow grew at the end the hilt had previously been, "well, and this is just a educated guess, but I think it's a roaming pack of Gri-" the last bit was cut off as a loud *wumph* came from the cannon, a large blue orb headed for the pack behind it. The orb landed in a silent flash, dust cartridge springing as it discharged from the weapon, the light fading to away to reveal most Grimm knocked about, though seemingly still up to a fight, the one closest to the blast fighting to pull its leg from a block of ice, the area now resembling a frozen lake due to the layer of ice on the ground.

Kanika leapt from her roll, pressing a concealed play button on one of her gauntlets as she did so, rebounding off of a tree in a rainbow tinted flash, trailing a swirl of color as she firmly planted one armored fist into a boarbatusks side, the beast skidded sideways as the electrified bullet shredded into one of the thinner plates of bone covering its hide, following up with a series of shots that send her vertical, most of them shattering harmlessly against its thickest armor

Nor smiled as he leapt from the tree, Jet Stream shifting quickly to its default form as he disengaged the lock on its head, lengths of chain unspooling as he landed back on the frozen earth, aura flaring to life as the spiked orb sailed through the air, cracking the white face of a passing Boarbatusk focused on diminutive partner, the Grimm staggering with the hit. Nor had little time to celebrate the solid hit as he saw a pair of the creatures careening towards him, there motions wild on the slick ice. Nor once more shot the spiked protrusion from the hilt into a near tree, sliding across the ice and out of their path as he retracted the chain. He could see cracks appearing in the block holding the other Grimm.

Kanika finally dropped from the sky, landing precariously atop one of the beasts. with a mighty blow to its rump, the beast charged, straight in line with one of its pack as she kicked off towards her own partner. Latching onto the macehead as it launched, she performed a hammering strike against the side of the tethered projectile, pushing it off course where the chain knocked several Grimm sliding. with several downward shots, she propelled herself towards a tree, igniting in a technicolor blaze.
The miniature huntress lands feet first against the top of the tree, causing it to bend dangerously before springing back and sending her rocketing into the largest beast, planting a skull-crushing fist directly into the beasts maw, the recoil once again pushing her skyward

Nor kept the chain extended, using the hilts chain to dart across the ice as he encircled the pack, pulling the chain tight to trap them for the moment, watching for Kanika's multi-hued form, "light 'em up shrimp, I feel a barbeque comin' on." He yelled as he struggeled to keep the struggling grimm captive.

"Oh yeah."
she replies, rapidly firing downward into the corraled demon swine, the electrified hellstorm of fragmenting lead tearing apart bone and hide alike, with the few stray shots gouging chunks from the icy terrain. with eevery shot, she rises higher. as she stops firing, the tiny girl drops into the injured mass of beasts, accelerating rapidly. once she strikes the ground, a shockwave sounds as pieces of Grimm evacuate the steaming crater.
ARE YOU FUCKING SORRY?!" the childlike huntress cries triumphantly before fainting due to a severe loss of aura caused by the impact.

Nor let out a deep laugh as he saw her fall back, "heh, very funny, get up we gotta find those damn relics," he laughed as he walked over, prodding her sleeping form with his leg.

No response. "C'mon on, I'm not carrying you to the thing."

He waited helplessly as he waited for her to grow bored of her game, before bending down to grab her, heaving her unceremoniously over one shoulder. "Your scrawny ass owes me, should leave you to the forest," the nautical Faunus muttered as he began to continue on their previous path.

The small girl begins to snore softly, still sleeping.

Suddenly from behind, Nor heard a loud cracking noise as his head whipped back groaning as he saw the previously trapped Boarbatusk stretching its leg as it glared at him. "C'mon, just walk into the forest ya bastard," he mumbled, reaching for the head of Jetstream, watching the Grimm carefully, the creature staring him down, the seconds seeming to tick slowly by.

"Please jus-" he was cut off once more as the thing let loose a squeal charging him down. The cannon covered his arm once more, a dark yellow glow with sparks coming out the vents in the weapon as the barrel narrowed at the end, before emitting a pencil thin stream, neatly piercing the pig creature.

The Grimm dropped as its dead form slid across the ice, Nor cursing as he flung the smoking weapon from his arm, a yellow ejecting itself. He looked once more at the sleeping form, "Your scrawny ass really owes me." Nor continued on his way after collecting the now cooled weapon.

Tyrian "Iris" Irisia

Somehow, Iris expected that he would be following her. The moment she told him that she knew where the dining hall was he would follow her. Luckily enough he managed to stay quiet once he realized that it was not up for conversation. Once they arrived at the hall she realized just how famished she was. Iris said her goodbye to Moss and wished him luck tomorrow, and then promptly ditched him for food. The rest of the night went smoothly. Dinner was good, she had a nice and hefty meal. Afterwards she went to change for the night, to the great hall to sleep, and then spent a few moments to herself thinking about her future at the academy.

When the sun was coming up Iris had already been awake. There were others like her, some went to eat breakfast and some had the same ideas as her. She went for a quick run around the hall, stretched her muscles, and flexed her semblance. Once she got her blood pumping, she went to grab a slice of bread with toast, and went to the showers. While walking to the lockers she heard Ms. Goodwitch over the announcement saying they should head to Beacon Cliff for their initiation. With a spring in her step she rushed to the lockers, made herself up, and took out her weapon Rzeznik.

She was one of the few who arrive there early; she wasn’t the first though which was kind of annoying. Everyone stood in a line with their gear all set up and their weapon at the ready. There were familiar faces, people she saw yesterday for the first time. The loud people were there too. Moss was there too, one person away, which gave her a sense of relief. He made it, good for him. She half expected that Moss would be missing or something.

She listened intently to Professor Ozpin. She could not tell what he was feeling; he was a very mysterious man which bothered Iris. It was a matter of trust versus no trust to her. He was known for being eccentric and wise, but still she had her doubts. The partnering method was a point of interest; she knew that they were going with Random Assignment, but not this random. Then she realized the implications of this test. It was not random at all. They were to track down whom they wanted to be partnered with and then find them in the forest.

Iris’s sense of dread was broken by the sound of screaming. The students launching into the sky decorated the horizon like birds some were elegant about it and looked composed. From what she could tell there were some who were not taking this situation lightly, she hoped none of them would die so early. The reputation of Beacon’s student assessment would have sorted out those who can between those who cannot so chances are most would be okay.

Iris readies Rzeznik in her right, a single dust crystal in her left Iris readied herself. The moment she felt the iron plate push her upward she moved left her hands hanging to her sides to increase speed. Iris figured that the further she went the close she will get to the relics. The wind pushed against her face she closed her eyes and experienced the familiar sensation of flight.

It was a few seconds before she realized she had made some distance between her and the launching pads. She moved both hands forward readying them for landing. To her one-o-clock, she could see a small clearing between trees. Deciding that it was the best place for landing she spun Rzeznik clockwise and shot out a green ball of energy down to the clearing, it exploded upon contact and released a green wave of wind energy. She switched her position to gather the most air and activated her Semblance. Once Cloud activated itself she could her body lighten. It was like a parachute had been opened carrying her gently down like a feather. Elegant and gentle she floated down to the open clearing. “Success” Iris exclaimed.

After a while of walking, Honey was starting to get bored of it. "You don't think we got turned around do you?" she asked, looking around and spotting Turner only a few steps behind her. Spinning around on her heel to face him, she crossed her arms. "I also don't see or hear anyone near us. I haven't for a while now." she paused. "Which is weird considering this Forest is supposed to be crawling with Grimm. So either we are close to the temple or we've been going the wrong way."

Hey chin lifted and her pink eyes gazed up at the thick canopy of trees above them. "Do you think you could get up there and see anything?"

Turner listened to Honey, while trying to watch their surroundings at the same time, as she was skipping as nonchalantly as he had ever seen anyone in a deadly forest. Okay, this was the first time hes been in a deadly forest but still, Honey seemed very laid back and chill about the situation. "Hmm?" Turner said as he lost concentration for a second. "Oh, yeah sure." He said with a nod. Turner drew Kaminari Inazuma into its dual sword mode. He flipped them around so the blades were facing backwards as Turner walked to a tree.

Honey took a large step away, as his weapon seemed pretty dangerous.

Turner stabbed one blade into the tree and stabbed the second one higher. Using his feet to grip against the tree, Turner alternated between his hands and alternated his legs too, eventually getting higher and higher until he reached the treeline. He scanned the surroundings until he saw a circular, stone looking thing, kind of like the top of a temple or something. It was to the west of where they were, and actually not too far. Turner climbed back down about halfway until jumping off, pulling his swords out of the tree with him.

"See anything?" she asked him as he landed down from the tree.

"Yeah, its not too far, to the west." Turner explained.

Honey clapped her hands excitedly. "Great! Then we're almost there!" she said, skipping ahead of him in the direction he had mentioned. It was a good thing Honey didn't need to try and expand the range of her semblance, as that would have tired her out even more than she already was. Closing her eyes, she would take one more quick scan of the area, to make sure there were no enemies in sight, and then she would stop relying on her semblance to see.

Sighing from the effort of keeping it up for so long, Honey stopped in her skipping and turned around, waiting for Turner to catch up. She rubbed her eyes as if trying to clear them, though her vision didn't get any better afterwards.

Turner was getting kind of tired too, in between trying to get to the temple as quick as possible to avoid Grimm, and keeping up with Honey, who manages to skip faster than he can jog, things were becoming... boring. Even though he'd rather not fight Grimm that could kill him, he really hoped something happened... and quick.

Honey waited until he was at her side before she reached out and took his arm, stopping him in his walking. "I need a favor." she said, looking at him, her pink eyes desperately trying to focus and make out the features of his face.

Turner stopped awkwardly as Honey grabbed his arm and asked for a "favor" of some sort. "Uhhh, whats that?" he asked, trying not to sound nervous or awkward in any way. "I need you to be my eyes for a while." she said, smiling at the tone of his voice. She was making him uncomfortable? "Make sure you're on the lookout for any Grimm. I've been doing it so far, trying to walk in places that had none. But I can't anymore. So just... be on your toes." she said. "Okay, oni-chan?" she added, just to tease him. Turner sighed, relaxing a little, but in his head he was screaming "Oh, thank god!" Turner smiled and looked back at Honey. "Of course." Turner said warmly. Wait... hang on. "You cant see?" he questioned, confused, still walking forward and looking out for Grimm.

Honey held loosely onto his shirt, closing her eyes and letting him guide her, simply following behind him. She didn't activate her semblance, just allowed herself to trust in him.

"Yes and no..." she started, answering his question. "My eyes are weak. I can only really see shapes and I can't focus on details. Over the years they've gradually gotten worse. I think its only a matter of time before I go blind..." she said. The tone in her voice wasn't sad, just... flat. As if she didn't care, but in reality it was something she hated most about herself.

"The good news is, I have this ability that allows me to 'see' everything when I close my eyes. Though it tires me out if I use it too much. Which... I just did to keep us safe." she paused. "Dont get me wrong now, I can still totally beat the crap out of a Grimm with or without my eyes. I just... it would be easier if could see everything. Which reminds me, what color are your eyes?" she asked curiously.

"They're blue." Turner said, trying not to sound sad because of her eyes. That... was a lot to take in. But, if they're going to be partners, he had to help Honey. He didn't have a reason to, but he felt like he had to, and he would. "Dont worry about your eyes Honey." Turner began, trying to cheer her up. "We are partners now, and partners help each other out." He continued, until a log got in their way. "Watch your step here." Turner advised, stepping over himself before guiding Honey over it as well. "I've got your back, whenever. I promise it." Turner said, with determination in his voice.

"Blue huh...?" she said, smiling after. No wonder he was mistaken for a girl... All that hair and now his eyes. she thought, laughing lightly. Honey didn't respond to his trying to cheer her up about her eyes, though his kindness had caught her off guard. Turner didn't know anything about Honey, they had only met the day before, and still he seemed determined to help her. As she stepped over something wit his help, she thought that she was pretty lucky to have someone like that to be her partner.

"Thanks Turner, that means a lot. Though..." the hand on his shirt would tighten as she stopped walking. "I heard something." she said.

Turners ears perked at the sound of something. "Me too... He replied, drawing his sword in his spare hand. "Get ready, it could be trouble." He replied, wrapping his own arm around hers to assure not only her but himself too, to let him know she was safe too.

Honey quickly unstrapped Seraphine from her belt, and held the handle in her left hand tightly. Though her eyes remained closed, she wasn't afraid of some Grimm trying to ambush them. She had Turner for her eyes, and well, the rest of her was still combat ready. "I hear it, to the right of us." she said, her head turning in that direction. "I hear two seperate patterns of footsteps, but they seem to be moving together."

Turner listened intently, he heard something but not as precise as Honey. She clearly had amazing hearing. "Got ya." Turner replied, confirming he was listening to the girl. "Could be Beowolves?" he suggested as he turned right.

"That's what I was thinking." she said. Raising Seraphine as she turned with him, she aimed the muzzle of it in the general direction of the steps. She waited as the mace's inner working changed so she could shoot regular bullets, before firing a few into the shadows of the trees. She waited, not hearing anything. "Well, they aren't people. If they were, they'd have said something to make us cease fire."

"You got that right." Turner said, tensing up a little, keeping his sword out and ready, not really pointing it in a certain direction. Rustling could now clearly be heard, something or even some things was coming. "Whatever it is, its getting closer."

"Well then, might as well give them a proper greeting." Honey would say, opening her eyes and blinking a few times. She wiggled her arm free from Turner's and ran forward, gripping the handle of Seraphine in both hands, raising it over her head. Bringing it down on a bush, the impact with the ground made a loud boom sound and two shadowed figures lept from the bush and into view.

Sure enough it was a duo of Beowolves. They landed in the space between Turner and Honey, one facing each of them and growling angrily. After lifing her weapon again, Honey turned around and glared at the figure of the Beowulf that was facing her. "Don't you beasts have better things to do other than harassing me?" she asked angrily, running forward and attempting to hit the thing with her weapon. The beast dodged it, and she ended up hitting the Beowulf that was closer to Turner, actually pushing the thing towards him. "Heads up!"

Turner rolled to the left as the Beowulf was sent his way. Gripping the wide hilt of Kaminari Inazuma, the young boy charged at the stunned Grimm and sliced at its back. Turner spun around quickly torwards the other, splitting his sword into two and throwing one at the Beowulf, praying it would hit its mark. "Duck!" he yelled out to Honey.

Eyes widening in surprise, Honey lowered herself down closer to the ground as fast as she could, though her long braids were not as fast, and the sharp tip of Turner's sword caught the ribbon that held one of her braids together, pulling it out of her hair, and a few strands along with it. She winced as her hair was pulled and felt the braid unravel. Looking up, she saw the sword continue its path and catch the Grimm right in the chest, and it was sent flying back at the force of the throw. Honey grinned and said "Nice shot." before placing her hands on her knees and standing, reaching to pick up Seraphine as she did.

Turner done the same thing as he did with his landing technique, taking a couple of steps to the left of Honey as to not hit her on the way. Turner pulled back with the sword in his hand and let the wire pull him and the Grimm together as he jumped in the air at the same time. Turner jutted his jegs out and put them together as they made contact with the Beowulf's head, kicking it back into the ground. Turner had kept silent, his mood changing as soon as the fight started. Turner placed his hand on the hilt of the sword imbedded in the creatures chest before jumping away, corkscrewing through the air and rolling forward as he landed. When Turner pushed himself up he finally noticed Honey's ruined braid. "Sorry!" He exclaimed.

Reaching back to run a hand through her hair, she smiled. "Oh that's--" A sudden sound from the other Beowulf made Honey turn and quickly shoot the thing three times, just to make sure it was dead, before she smiled at Turner. "That's okay. You did some nice work here. I was basically just watching." she complimented him. Stepping over to the Grimm that had been stabbed, she squinted her eyes and looked for a bit of green that she hoped would stand out against the black of the beast. "Did you see my ribbon?"

Turner smiled, a bit embaraased as he seemed to go a bit overboard. "Hehe, sorry." He apologised, rubbing the back of his head. Oh, crap. The ribbon! Turner scanned the floor really quick until he saw a small strip of cloth that contrasted to the green of the grass. Turner quickly picked it up and ran it through his fingers, getting rid of any dirt on it. "Got it right here." Turner said, walking over and placing it in her hands.

"Ah, thank you." she said taking it and placing her weapon on the ground so she could fix her braid.

"Again, really sorry about that." he said apologetically.

"Don't worry, its my fault that im too stubborn to cut my hair." she said as she continued to braid up her long hair. Looking around them, she raised her eyebrows. "We should probably get going though, before their friends show up. We should be getting close, right?" she asked as she used the ribbon to tie the end of the braid. After moving it over her shoulder, she bent down to pick up Seraphine before rubbing her eyes. "Lets go?"

Turner nodded at Honey. "Yeah, were close. Lets go." Turner agreed, sheathing his weapon onto his back. He stuck close to Honey in case she needed him to guide her again and began walking west along with her. Fortunately, they didnt run into anymore Grimm by the time they had reached the temple. "I... think this is it?" Turner commented as they reached the edge, not sounding too confident. Several or so podiums with objects on them were placed in a semi-circle within the ruins of the temple, but Turner couldnt make them out just yet.

Honey had kept her eyes closed and stayed close to Turner as they walked. It wasn't too long before he stopped walking and she opened her eyes to look around them. They seemed to have stepped out of the egde of the forest, and made it to a very large clearing with something that resembled a ruined stone building.

Or temple... she thought. "Maybe. Lets go check it out!" she said excitedly before running ahead of him.

Turner chuckled at the optimistic attitued of Honey as he began jogging after her again. When they got closer, Turner could finally see the tiny objects on top of the podiums. "Chess pieces?" He questioned.

"Oooooh." Honey said as she got really close to a few of the pieces, looking at them intently. "This one!" she said happily, grabbing one though she couldn't tell much other than the creamy white color of it. Taking it to Turner, she handed it to him. "Which one is it?"

Turner took the piece in his hand and noticed the iconic sculpt of the piece. "Its the queen." He stated, turning it in his hand a bit before handing it back. "Here you go." He said with a smile.

Turning it over in her hands, she smiled at it. "The queen?" After a moment of just looking at it, she squealed happily. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" she sang while making poses.

Turner rolled his eyes and just leant against one of the broken pillars, simply letting Honey do her thing. "Should we wait for the others?" Turner asked, even though he thought she was in her own world at the moment.

"Hmm..."

Pausing in her dancing, Honey looked around them. This place looked a lot safer than the forest. "We should probably wait..." she said, going over to him. She looked at him for a moment, then remembered something. "Which mean I have enough time to show you the rest of the poses I thought up for my very own statue!"

Turners head dropped immediately. Well... we ARE partners now, like I said. With a sigh, Turner finally looked up. "Go ahead." he said, with a smirk as Honey would continue pulling off different and weird poses.

A collaboration between TEAM HRNT
Honey, Kanika, Nor and Turner

Nor squints as they enter the clearing, using his free hand to ward off the unfiltered sunlight and inspecting the dilapidated steps to what looked like the ruins belonging to a temple. He could see a couple of the other first years gathered near one of the pedestals, the rather energetic girl switching between one stance to the next, her partner watching with a demeanor seeming to exude defeat at the peppy attitude. He chuckles at the sight, the sound reminding him that he'd yet to replace his mask, and turns to look away from the pair. He bounces the shoulder his currently napping partner had been carried on, trying to wake her, "Up and at 'em runt, you're walking from here on in."

The small girl begins to stir.
"Hmm?"
She mutters, rolling sideways and falling from his shoulder, barely catching herself to avoid faceplanting.
"We at the temple already?"
Kanika asks, stretching her arms with an enormous yawn. With that, she wanders over to a random pedestal, staring intently at a white piece
"I have never played chess before."
She muses, hovering a hand over the relic,
"How about you, big guy?"

Nor shrugs as he looks the pieces over, "I've played a few times," He answers as he studies the pieces, "but I doubt they're worried about our use of the castleing maneuvers," he continues. Noting the confused look from Kani at the phrase, "uh never mind," he replies, resting against a near pillar as he stretches the arm he'd used to carry her, "I honestly doubt it matters too much which we choose, so you can pick."

"Alright, then."
The technicolor student says, grabbing the piece she had previously been staring at.
"What is this thing, anyways?
She inquires, turning the cross-capped totem in her hands.
"Looks important."

Nor raises an eyebrow at the piece she'd picked out, fighting the urge to roll his eyes, "You could say that, it's the king," The pale Faunus answers as he pushes off of the pillar, preparing to leave now they had their relic. " It's the most important piece in the game," He said as he watched the other pair out of the corner of his eye, "but it's also one of the most vulnerable as well, so it's in constant ne-."

"Bored."
The small girl interrupts, tossing Nor the white king.
"No pockets big enough. Wonder who the other two on our team will be?"
She says, sitting down against a pedestal for a moment. Kanika ejects the magazines from her gauntlets.
"Damn, almost empty."
The student adds. Pulling a pouch off of her belt, she begins to reload the containers.

Nor grabbed the ornate chess piece from the air, stowing it in his ammo pouch. Retrieving four dust cartridges himself and tossing two yellow ones to Kani, "See if those work, should be a universal fit, but I'm still working on the design so..." He trailed off with a shrug, the head of Jetstream retracting as he replaces the spent ammo. He watches the pair nearby, "No way to know really till they tell us, though I doubt it'll take much longer," His voice distant as he fiddled with the weapon, looking for anything that had gone faulty after the last fight.

"Might fit, though the load in my gauntets is a bit funny."
The pint-size brawler replies, trying to load the shells.
"Nope, receptacle is angled wrong to fit my custom mags."
She says, tossing them back. Kanika slides the reloaded magazines back into a pouch, replacing them with a set marked with bright blue stripes.
"Hard to get standardized mods out in Vacuo, so I had to hand-forge pretty much everything."

Nor let out a whistle, a hint of interest making its way to his voice, "Impressive. Glad to see I'm not the only one bringing something other than store bought, gets pretty dull after you've seen 5 short gun swords, or whatever the corporations brand them as." An obvious tone of disgust slithered through his gritted teeth.

"You should see Uli's surfboard."
She says, jerking her fists back to cock the twin barrels on each gauntlet.
"I think I overheard some girl saying most Signal students custom-forge, but I'm sure a lot of mods and parts are pre-designed."

Turner, who was switching between watching Honey throw random poses and seeing the newcomers, decided to introduce himself to the two. "Honey, Im going to go see what those two are up to, okay?" he said before leaning off of the pillar and walking up to the two who had picked up a King piece.

"Okay byeee!" she called, hopping up on one of the pillars and balancing on one foot.

"Hey there." he said as he walked up to the pair, who he could now see was a faunus boy and a girl with some cool looking dyed hair.

Kanika looks at the effeminate young man as he aproaches
"What you got, sparky?"
she inquires, packing away her spare ammo puch and magazines. the brightly colored girl examines him, taking note of his particularly elaborate outfit
"And what's your name?"

"Oh, Im Turner." the blue haired boy said with a smile. This girl was very straight to the point. "Although, I dont know what you mean by "What I got?" he explained. "What about you?"

"Guns, swords, boomsticks. How do you kill shit?"
she says, swinging her hand aside and firing a freezing bolt into an poor, defenseless tree for emphasis
"I favor ballistic fists and variants thereof."
she says matter-of-factly, a quick flick of her wrists causing the weapons to collapse down into bracers
"I repeat; what you got, Sparky?

Albeit a bit intimitated by the girl, despite her small stature, Turner drew his sword and swung it around a bit. "I have this." Turner began to explain. He then split it into two swords, stretching out the wire connecting the two at the same time. "I made it so I could use it in diffferent forms." He continued, attatching the long hilts to make it in its double-edged naginata form, twirling it around for demonstrative purposes. After, the boy then split the weapon back and flicked it down, with the blades folding out at the same time, to show its machine pistol form. "I call it "Kaminari Inazuma" for "Thunder, Lightning." He further explained.

"Versatility, good call. Mine are Blast Mantises.
The miniature brawler replies,
"Do you guys have mantises around here? Not the bugs, the Grimm. I've seen some unusual ones since I got here."
Kanika adds, pantomiming tusks
"Like these weird pig things"
she gestures to Nor,
"We killed a few of them on our way here, it was awesome."

Nor's back was to the pair, steadily disassembling Jet Stream as he checked it, raising an arm in greeting as he let out a grunt in place of an actual welcome. A small twitch was the only sign he'd been listening to the pair describe their weapons, quashing his curiosity for the moment. Kani didn't seem to bad, and he was stuck with her regardless, but he was in no hurry to make nice. He'd learned from previous experience not all humans were as open minded as the Shrimp.

Honey watched as Turner and some girl she recognized before started talking about weapons. Though she was curious, she wasn't wanting to interrupt them. Instead, she started hopping from pillar to pillar until she was standing on the one closest to the group. Pink eyes stared at them as she tried to pick out little details that she could use to remember the two new people.

She waited until they had stopped talking before deciding to introduce herself. "Hiya! I'm Honey, Turner's partner." she said, hopping down and standing next to them. Looking down at the girl with the pretty hair, she said "Hey, can I see your weapon again? I didn't get a good look before."

Kanika eyes her suspiciously before unclamping her right gauntlet and cautiosly offering it to her. Honey took the thing in her hands, carefully bringing it close to her face so her eyes could focus on it better. She leaned away and then closer until the details came into view.
"Be carefull, that thing packs on hell of a kick."
she says, making sure the weapons are properly locked.
"I"m Kanika, he's Nor."
the brightly-colored girl adds, almost an afterthought.

"You know, considering my parents make weapons and parts for a living, you would think I'd know more about this stuff. But, what do you call this thing? How does it work?" she asked.

"It's a Double Barelled Ballistic Fist, uses a kinetic trigger rather than a traditional one. so it fires when I hit things."

"That is... absolutely genius. Why didn't I think of that?" she said, handing the weapon back.

The technicolor marauder accepts the tool, strapping it back onto her arm.
"Few people have my level of creativity when it comes to killing things."
Kanika brags,
"It also has a built-in music player. because reasons."

"Huh. Now I feel I should take Seraphine to my parent's factory and get it updated." she said, placing her hand on the handle of her weapon.

"Nah, gotta do it yourself. Makes it better."
the small girl replies, pulling a single bullet out of one of her pouches and using it to top off the magazine after her previous demnstration

"True, though I could use some help. I'm not... the best when it comes to that kind of stuff." she said.

Turner looked up at Honey who who just jumped of a pillar. "I made my weapon, I could help you." He stated kindly.

"Same here. Hell, I forged the individual components because I couldn't find the right parts.

"Aww, thats nice of both of you. I'll take all the help I can get."

Honey unstrapped Seraphine from her belt and held the heavy thing up in her hands. "I remember what I wanted my weapon to be like, and I had it made mostly in the factory. There's only a little bit of me that went into it. Now that you mention it, I think I'd want to make the design even more personal."

"Back in Vacuo, we didn't have much access to factory components, so everyone I know had to either order them from a smith or do it themselves. Didn't see a single stock weapon until the airship ride over."
she explains, eyeing Seraphine
"Mind if I take a look?"

"Yeah. But it's heavier than it looks." she said, handing it over, hoping the thing didn't weigh more than she did.
Kanika accepts the weapon, almost dropping it, not expecting the weight, but handles it easily afterwards
"Not bad, I appreciate a weapon with a bit more heft to it. Better impact."
she examines the weapon,
"What kind of ammo does it use?"

"Well, aside from regular bullets, I prefer to use dust bullets. Also it can launch grenades, though those are also different from the 'regular' kind I suppose."

Reaching onto her thigh and unclipping one of the bullet shaped grenades, she held it up. "These things. I don't understand entirely what they are, but I like 'em cause they blow stuff up."

Stepping towards Kanika, she pushed a button on the underside of the handle and it cocked open, revealing an inner section. "I load the dust bullets here. Seven at a time can fit at most. It also gets bigger so I can fit these bad boys in there." Closing it, she pointed to the underside of the weapon. "And the mag for regular bullets fit in there."

"Mind if I take a look at that grenade?"
she sayd, handing the weapon back.

"Sure." Honey said, taking the weapon easily with one arm and handing the girl the grenade in the other.

Hmm..."
she mutters, examining the projectile.

"Shape is a bit weird, but it's a pretty standard caliber. Could probably fit in any gun with an adjustable chamber."
she says, handing it back to Honey, who accepted it and clipped it back onto her leg.

"I tried grenades in my Mantises once, that... Was fun, unfortunately I had to rebuild them afterwards. Did NOT go over very well."
Kanika adds, causing Honey to laugh lightly as the technicolor twerp returns the small explosive.

"Sorry to hear that." she said honestly. "Though you seem like someone who doesn't mind rebuilding weapons."

"Don't be, it was fucking awesome."
she says, grinning madly

Honey suddenly held her hand out towards the girl, and said "Shh." before turning around and scanning the rather empty area they were standing in. After a few moments, Honey looked back at the others. "Did you hear something? Kinda like... rumbling?"

The smaller girl falls silent, listening
"That sounds... oddly familiar."
she says nervously, looking around at the treetops
"Remember when I asked about mantises?"
she asks, eyes locking onto something in the distance

"Never seen one. Do they come out of the ground or something?" she asked as the sound got louder and she could feel shaking under her feet.

"No."
Kanika replies, flicking her wrists downwards to deploy her weapons, including the spherical guards
"They fly."

"I wana ride it then before we kill the thing." she said excitedly.

"Been there Done that. Would not reccomend."
she says, causing a pout to form on Honey's face.
"Now would be a very good time to move, they have trouble in tight spaces. out here we're pretty much dead.

"Yeah but we need to make it to the top of..." she looked around. "Some cliff that's supposed to be around here." she said.

"Probably the one we started at, it'll be south of here."
she says hurriedly, eyes growing wide as the flying monstrosity comes into view

Even with her poor eyesight, Honey could tell the thing looked totally wicked. "Aww, are you sure I can't ride it?" she asked.

"Sharky, get that thing back together ASA-NOW."
she says
"Actually, you may have to. their weakpoint is between the wings, on its abdomen. disable the wings and we might have a chance."

Turner drew his weapons into its duel sword form, anticipating further instructions.

"Tough luck, I was bluffing." Honey said, the thought of being off the ground like before was a startling idea.

"I can probably ground it, but it'll take most of my ammo."
the tiny terror says
"And I'll need a boost."

"How heavy are you?" Honey asked, looking over at the girl.

"I'm not."
she replies, grinning viciously.

The pallid Faunus pieced his weapon together in moments, staring up at the large Grimm, a calculating look in his eyes, "No need to waste ammo, I can probably ground the bug if y'all can get it in range," he said, briging up his scroll to check his auras status, noting it was rather low, "But yall are going to have to finish it quickly afterwards, I wont be able to keep it there long," he finished, readying Jetstream.

"No need, I have a better idea."

Knealing down on one knee, Honey gripped Seraphine in both hands and let it rest on her left shoulder. "Kanika, step up on Seraphine. I can probably throw you up there." she said. Angling her weapon down, Honey tipped open the handle a little so she could slip one of her grenades in there. When it was loaded, she waited for the girl to step onto it.

The girl nods, jumping up and planting one foot firmly over the barrel of the gun, a slight rainbow glow arising around her

Glancing over her shoulder, she noticed one of Kanika's feet were a little close to the barrell of the gun. "Might wana move that an inch or two up, unless you want to lose it." she said, facing her head towards the monster again and trying to focus on it.

"See, now you're assuming i've never done something like this before."

"I'm not even going to ask." she said grinning and firing the grenade from her weapon. Honey used the momentum of it to help swing Seraphine and Kanika as hard as she could, sending the girl launching into the air.

"This... is probably the craziest thing I'm about to do." Turner stated to no one in particular, at the same time beginning to aim his machine pistols at the underside of the mantis.

"Probably better off that way."
the brawler repsonds with a psychotic look in her eye, mments before the exposion sends her flying. The slight rainbow glow expands into a blur as she rockets impossibly fast towards the beast.
HEY, FREAKSHOW, OVER HERE!"
she says, seeming to pause mid air to press play.
Moments before impacting, she fires several shots, causing her to arc over it, before one final round plants her firmly on its back.

The morning following the somewhat hectic introductory day, Moss awoke with his newly-recalibrated Air Boots in front of him. The finer details of yesterday were lost to him, but he at least remembered the people he met: the angry guy, the purple-hair guy and... that girl who didn't tell him her name. He thought about using "mysterious girl" as a placeholder for whatever her real name was, but that sounded weird to him. "Eh, maybe she doesn't have a name?" Though he considered the possibility that she just didn't like her name and didn't want to tell others, Moss finalized his decision to just call her the "nameless girl" since he lacked any real imagination at three in the morning.

He spent a few hours jumping throughout the campus, making sure his gear was in peak condition as he waited for breakfast to be ready. Though Moss wanted to go for a few more runs after eating, a teacher quickly stopped him. "... Hweh." he sighed to himself as he walked around normally, not flying through the air as he would have liked. Moss was confident in his knowledge on how to tune his boots; it was just that using only his mouth to do it meant there was more room for error. It was fortunate that they seemed to be in good shape this time, since there was suddenly an announcement calling the students over to Beacon Cliff. "I wonder if they're going to kick us off the edge like birds," Moss thought half-jokingly to himself. While it would be pretty fun to see who'd end up splattering on the ground, Moss doubted that something like that would happen.

With his equipment already on hand--not to mention the fact that the Air Boots were made to increase the wearer's mobility--it was somewhat expected that Moss was the first one there. Literally flying over there, he got quite a few shocked gazes from the people below him. As he landed, Moss remembered that he really wasn't supposed to be using them now. "... Will I get in trouble again?" he thought to himself, recalling when he was scolded just a few minutes ago. "Ah well. Too late now." He let his focus drift to the clouds as other students began filling in, some of them recognizing him and giving quizzical stares.

Moss, still daydreaming, didn't hear a word that Ozpin or Goodwitch had said. What caught his attention was the sudden sounds of screams and the sight of people flying in the air. "Eh?" Moss let out in surprise as he witnessed the spectacle. A low hissing sound came from the platform beneath him, the familiar sound of compressed air. "Eh?" As the floor suddenly swung up and Moss was sent spiraling forward into the air, a loud "HWEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeehhhhhh?!" could be heard, fading as his figure became more distant. Stabilizing his flight, Moss looked around him. A few others had managed to gather their wits and were landing on the ground below. "They... really did do the bird-thing." Moss sighed to himself as he wondered who the heck made this tradition. Regardless, Moss decided that he should do something so that he didn't just crash.

Creating hefty bursts of air that shook the trees below him, Moss ran towards where everyone else seemed to be going... some ruins? This proved to be an pretty bad idea, as it emptied his air tanks by quite a bit and caused him to plummet at an even faster speed towards the ground. Realizing this, Moss waited for his tanks to fill up before releasing a bubble-like blast in front of him. While not as bad as it would have been, Moss still ended up tumbling about a hundred meters and sliding a few dozen more into a clearing. "That could have gone better, but at least I didn't hit a tree." Moss noted as he stood up and brought up his knee to rub the dirt off his face. Then, he saw the person in front of him. "Oh hi again!" he said happily in greeting to the nameless girl, now dressed like a... magical girl? Unable to help himself once he noticed what the nameless girl was wearing, Moss teased, "You look really cute in that, by the way."

TEAM HRNT vs. DEATH MANTIS

Jumping up and down excitedly as Kanika seemed to make it onto the back of the flying beast, Honey was happy the idea had even worked at all.

"Okay, first things first. We gotta get that thing on the ground." she said, looking over at Turner and Nor. "I can't help much until then. Be careful if you guys want to shoot though." she warned. "We don't want to hit her."

Looking back as the thing flew over their heads, Honey wished she could be of more help to them, but with her having to wait before she could see better using her semblance, she knew trying to do something now would just be reckless and cause her to be in the way.

Turner aimed his guns upwards at the new type of Grimm. "Shes on top, lets shoot it up a little." He said, with no tone at all. Turner aimed specifically at the underneath of the Mantis and fired away. As the machine pistols blasted bullets away, Turner couldnt actually see if he was doing any major damage but hopefully he was distracting its attention away from the pint sized brawler.

Atop the monstrosities back, Kanika blaanaced precariously, gripping one bony spike tightly as she repeatedly strikes at the point where the Mantises right wing meets its body, the dust infused rounds piercing deep into the softer flesh of the joint and causing it to slowly freeze up, as it begins to veer right, she hastily shifts aim, this time striking at the left-side joint.
"Incoming!"
she shouts over the humming of the mantises wings as it is forced closer to the ground, firing one last shot into each joint before running down its abdomen, jumping ship just before it crashes, she rolls along the ground, deactivating her semblance.

"Nice one!" Honey yells, running over and high fiving Kanika. Moments later, the girl dissappears in a multicolored flash

Nor finished reassembling the massive weapon as the Grimm made touchdown, the shark's aura flaring to life as he used his semblance make its weight down a manageable level, bringing the barrel to bear on the monstrosity recovering rather quickly, "Well ya got the bastard down, but I wouldn't go celebrating," he said a dull blue orb flew from the cannon, sliding back from the force as it erupted on the insects head, the cartridge ejecting. He could see cracks already spiderwebbing as it thrashed about, cursing for no longer being able to fire another fission bolt. He let loose another Crystalice shot, gluing the Mantis' front left claw to its side. The ice would hold for a few moments, but he could tell the monstrosity would break free quickly.

Turner formed his weapon into its double-edged staff mode and slanted it downwards so one end was touching the ground and pointing towards Honey. He then turned it 90 degrees so the flat side was facing upwards. "Honey!" He called out. "Want to get on that things back?" He asked coyly.

Honey stepped over to him and placed her feet on his weapon. "I hate flying, but you got it partner!" she said, smiling to him and quickly loading seven dust bullets into her weapon. Turner, with all the strength he could muster at the moment, pushed the edge up as fast as possible to launch the girl up in the air. "Go get 'em." He said as soon as she left the weapon. Biting her lower lip nervously, Honey would squint her eyes as she was flung into the air. Much like before at the cliff, the sensation of excitement was replaced by fear after only a few seconds. Trying to shake off the feeling as she neared the beast, Honey raised Seraphine over her head and grinned at the thing.

"Let me get a good look at you!" she said, bringing her weapon down hard on the top of its head, making the thing tip forward and start to fall towards the ground on its face. Using the momentum, Honey easily did a front flip and landed on the creatures back. Immediately she looked around, spotting two sets of ice that she assumed Kanika had used when grounding the thing.

Trying to keep her balance as the creature continued to move around, Honey faced one of the wings, hopping up on the iced joint, beginning to bash the wing repeatedly with her weapon. After a few hits and almost stumbling, Honey placed the barrell of Seraphine against the wing and began to fire shots at it. The first few bullets were ice that just went straight through the wing, large skewers of ice ended up embedding into the gound.

Hopping then off the frozen joint of the thing, Honey loaded one of her granades into seraphine, waiting for the weapon to adjust to the size. Stepping a few feet away, something caused Honey to slip and land on her bottom with a 'oof' sound coming from her.

Gritting her teeth, she aimed the barell of Seraphine at the frozen joint and fired, watching with satisfaction as the entire wing was ripped from the beasts body.

At the same time Honey was on the Grimms back, Turner ran towards its legs and ran around it stricking, striking at the metal-like carapace everytime he passed a leg, maneouvring in a way that made every move flowing from one to another, slowly working his way around the legs.

At the edge of the clearing, Kanika reappears in a flash, quickly swapping the magazines in her gauntlets before rushing forward, once again surrounded by her rainbow aura.
"Nor, chain!"
she shouts, zipping towards her partner.

When Turner heard this, he immediately retreated back to where Kanika and Nor was.

Nor gave a curt nod as the weapon quickly shifted forms, tossing her the head of the flail as he made it light enough to carry easily, "Watch the spikes and do me a favor.", he told her as he grinned, his teeth lending it an unnerving quality, "Try and leave that somewhere that looks important." he instructed as he readied the red trigger.

Kanika catches the head of the flail, dragging it across the arena as the chain unspooled, she stops, delivering a might strike and sending it flying past the Mantis, the metalic bonds of the chain striking againt its legs causing the chain to whip around, encircling them. The technicolor killer launches herself towards the Mantis as the flail cirlces back around, catching it and leaping towards the Grimm's belly, embedding the spiked head in the abdomen, dropping once more to the ground and making her way to a safe distance.
"I left it somewhere important, sharky!"
she shouts, signalling to Nor.

Nor pulled back on the chain as he threw his semblance in reverse as he felt his aura starting to flag, fingers itching to pull the trigger, waiting for Honey to finish her attack and get to a safe spot, "FIRE IN THE HOLE."

"One more!" she said to herself, getting back on her feet and turning to the other wing. Loading one more grenade into Seraphine, she aimed it at the frozen joint and fired, the blast ripping that wing clean off of the grimm's body. The thing howled in pain and probably fury, thrashing and making Honey lose her balance.

She tripped and fell backwards, starting to slide down the body or the thing, hitting a spike with her arm painfully as she went down and losing her hold on Seraphine. Panicking for a moment, Honey turned onto her belly and reached out with her hands to grab one of the spikes to stop her from falling, holding on for dear life.

Kanika's aura ignites to full burn, sending her rocketing forward into the monsters left shoulder, one solid strike and the resulting delivery of two fragmenting bullets severing the arm in a brutal shower of bone shards, the beasts thrashing in pain causing the ice holding its other scythe-like claw to shatter. The Mantis swings, aiming for the nearest target; Kanika.
"Oh, fuck..."
she mutters as the lethal blade approaches, feeling lightheaded as her aura depleted.

The sudden motion of the beast attacking made Honey's grip slip free as she was tossed off and falling towards the ground. "Oh crap!" she said, not helping the light scream that escaped her mouth.

Nor groaned as he watched the the girl slip, dropping Jet Stream as his weight suddenly shifted making him rather light, he could feel the dark edges coming as he ran out of aura from over using his semblance, but his speeding form quickly came upon Honey, grabbing her just as one leg broke free from the chain, kicking out and catching him in the side, feeling akin to getting hit by a swinging i beam with his diminished mass, feeling multiple ribs crack. he could hear someone call out as he passed into unconsciousness, "PUSH THE FUCKING RED ONE!"

Honey's scream was cut off as she felt she was caught by someone, hardly getting a good look before the person started to collapse. The two fell onto the ground in a heap, and Honey sat up immediately, looking down at the guy who had saved her. "Oh no, he's hurt!" she said, reaching down and grabbing him under the arms and running away from the beast which was still out for blood.

When she got him far enough away, she looked around for Seraphine, but couldn't locate it. Cursing and closing her eyes, she searched within herself for enough aura left to activate her semblance one more time. "Please work..." she said as she concentrated. She got a weak image of the surroundings that held only for a few seconds before she felt nearly ready to pass out. Opening her eyes, Honey would run in the direction of where she saw the weapon of Nor, the one who saved her.

She owed that guy a good meal after this shit was over.

Approaching the weapon, Honey squinted her eyes and looked at it, remembering he said something about a red button. "Red button, red button..." she said to herself, biting her lower lip as she looked for it.

Turner's eyes widened as the scythe-like appendage sliced through the air and straight towards Kanika. He sprinted towards the monster and up to the back of Kanika. He pole-vaulted over the tired comrade and landed infront of her. Mid-jump, he pulled the staff apart and twirled them forward so as he landed he met the Grimms attack with his own sword. He buckled under the force and was pushed back slightly. Turner spun left, pushing Kanika out of the way and sprinting towards the front of the mantis.

Finding the red button finally after fighting with her eyes that went in and out of focus, Honey reached out and pushed it, not sure what would happen, just wanting the fight to end already.. As she pressed the button, the air surrounding the Grimm seemed to suck the oxygen out of a persons lungs, a muted wumph heard as the world lit up, heat heating the faces of the nearby hunters.

He clipped the swords together to make Kaminari Inazuma into its great sword mode and geared up for a massive swing as Turner charged the beast head on. Voicing his attack with a yell, he swung upwards at the head of the beast, severing the neck of the Death Mantis. He stood there, gasping for air with his arms hung low as the Grimm toppled over.

As things started to quiet down and Honey heard a loud 'boom', she sighed in relif. Seemed the fight had finally ended. "Thank goodness..." she said, running an arm across her forhead and slowly walking over towards her weapon. Reaching down and picking up Seraphine, Honey swung it around in her hand before she would jog over to where she had left Nor before. She knelt at his side and got her face really close to his.

"Hmmm?" she raised a brow as she got a good look at his face for once. "Woah." Honey said, reaching out with her finger and poking the guys face a few times. "How did I not notice this before..?. Sharky?" she mumbled as her hands came up and started to massage his face.

Kanika stands up slowly, brushing some chips of slowly dissipating Grimm from her shoulder before wandering over to Nor as well
""He normally wears a mask."
The neon haired girl says, interupting Honey's facial molestation.

"Why? He looks so cool..." she said, kinda wanting to stick her hand in there, but leaning away instead.

"Faunus. shark teeth. take a guess." a tooth falls out as if in response to the explanation.

Honey noticed this and picked up the tooth, eyes widening in excitement. "That's still totally cool." she said, placing her hands on her knees and standing before looking at Kanika. How the hell did the girl still look adoreable when she was beat up?

"Most people ain't quite so accepting of them, you know."
Kanika replies, her gauntlets retracting into safe mode before she crosses her arms

Reaching out, Honey patted Kanika's head, recieiving a slight 'mrr' in response"You are so cute." she stated seriously.

"Damn straight I am. fuckin' adorable."

Laughing and swinging Seraphine again, she looked down at Nor. "Guess we gotta drag him the rest of the way. Let's go before I decide to fall asleep. Turner, can you grab his weapon?"

"You take that side, I got this one."
Kanika says, grabbing an ankle. Nodding, Honey grabbed the other one, relieved the guy didn't seem too heavy.

"This guy is way lighter than some of the people I've had to drag away from fights."
the smaller girl muses, pausing to press the skip button on her gauntlets MP3

"Man, I was wondering when you were going to turn that off-" Honey paused and sighed as the next song played. "Spoke too soon I suppose." she said as they started walking, Turner following quietly behind them.

""Gotta have style, kid."
she laughs, dragging Nor away from the disintegrating carcass of the recently deceased Death Mantis.

Tyrian "Iris" Irisia

Somehow Iris knew. She didn’t’ know how she knew or why she was thought about it, but somehow she knew that the person she would be partnered with was Moss. They needed to make eye contact for them to be considered partners, and sadly they did. It was before he even started talking when her Teal Blue eyes matched with his Dark Green one’s. It reminded him of the forest they were in right now.

Iris could have just played it for laughs, left and ignore him completely. That was the much easier choice, leave him be and just pretend that they didn’t make eye contact. All she needed to do was just close her eyes and run away. If she used her semblance she could literally hop away from the situation. IT was really easy, super easy, but somehow she didn’t have the heart to do anything about. Iris felt bad for the guy. If she left it would be like leaving a puppy in a busy city while it rained. Moss would be dead if she left.

Iris didn’t talk for a while as the two of them stood a few feet away from each other. She was making contemplative faces at him. “Hi...Moss” she said finally breaking the silence. “Thanks” she said in response to what she assumed was a compliment albeit late. “In no way shape or form am I happy about this, but the rules are rules so the two of us will be partners. Let’s go.” Once she said that she turned around and left. "Come on and don’t dawdle. We need to get to that relic quickly.”

Marina

The past few days were something of a blur for Marina.

She could remember the airship ride to Beacon – she’d stood apart from the other students in an attempt not to hurt any of them. Her height was a bit intimidating at first glance; she’d inherited it from her father, and her strength got away from her sometimes which had resulted in more than a few bruising handshakes over the years. The giant girl swore that she’d actually seen someone who was barely waist-height on herself wiggling their way through the crowd at one point.

She could remember dinner – not what she ate, as it was pretty standard fair especially for someone used to eating military meals growing up, but rather the scuffle that’d occurred as some of the students were arriving. The same brightly-coloured midget she’d seen earlier attacked a purple boy in the doorway, kicking him while he was down before another teen intervened. Marina was tempted to get up and interfere, but seeing as the small person seemed to switch to food mode almost instantly she decided against it. The purple boy had the other teen to look after him; he would be fine.

She could remember a sleepless night, worrying over the Initiation in the morning, worrying whether she was doing the right thing by becoming a Hunter or whether she should just return home and join the Atlas Military like her parents wanted, worrying if she was even good enough to be at such a prestigious school. What if she failed? Her wants for the future dashed against the rocks like sea-spray, disappearing beneath the dreams of other people and slinking back home to face her parents’ smug faces as she joined the military like they wanted. No, she couldn’t do that – she’d come so far. She just had to go all the way.

She could remember a brilliant morning, the sun shining so brightly in a cloudless sky as the applicants gathered at the top of the cliff, lining up on the strange metal plates installed just for hopeful Hunters. Ozpin’s strange speech was so different to the ones she had heard all her life from other officials like her parents that it stuck in her mind in a way none of the others had.

She could remember thinking a brief ‘What?’ as the plate beneath her feet snapped open, launching her into the air alongside the other teens.

And then the world literally was a blur.

“Holy-!” The tall girl half screamed before swallowing her words. ‘Now is not the time, Marina,’ she thought to herself as she stared at the rapidly approaching forest below, ‘Freak out once you’ve landed.’

The blonde pulled on every ounce of training she’d had in the military academy back home in Atlas before steeling her nerves and grabbing Fortior from its place on her back. It converted to shotgun mode almost immediately and the armoured teen fired three times in front of her to slow her rate of descent, before reverting her shotgun to shield form and curling up behind it. She pounded throw the trees heavily, crashing through them like a cannonball as she focused her aura, and each impact slowing her fall even further. A few splinters scratched at her clothes but Marina ignored them in favour of rolling with the force of hitting the ground, leaving a small hollow in the ground behind her. The Atlesian girl transformed Fortior in shotgun form once more as she righted herself, checking the forest around carefully as she reloaded the firearm.

“Coast is clear,” she murmured to herself, switching Fortior back to shield form and drawing her mace. “Oh man, oh man, that was intense. Okay. Pull yourself together, Marina. Have to go…north? Yeah, north to the forest temple and pick up a relic. Then back to the cliff, hopefully picking up a partner along the way and not dying in the process.”

Marina carefully ran her eye over her surroundings once more before tilting her head back to check the position of the sun. “Sun is there and it’s early morning, which means that’s east so north should be…that way!”

With a triumphant smile, she strode in the direction she had picked, lightly swinging Velocius by her side. Hopefully she would be teamed with someone she wouldn’t hurt just by shaking their hand.

The sound of beowolves growling drew Marina's attention after a while, and music started blasting through the air almost immediately after. 'Either that's a person, or someone just dropped a music player...' she thought to herself. The sound of a scuffle rang through the forest, bullets punctuated by the swing of a sword and the growls and yelps of beowolves, and she picked up her pace a bit. 'Person. Definitely a person.'

She burst into the clearing at a jog just as the purple boy she'd noticed yesterday flicking his sword to clear it of any grime before slinging it over his shoulder. His eyes flicked up, one purple and one white, to meet her own, and Marina paused for a moment.
With only a fleeting glance, he yawned lazily and snapped back to the charging beowolves. Switching Promessa back to her initial form, he took aim at the one closest to him and shot a normal round, with a howl it dropped lifeless on the floor. Another lunged directly at Pax, to which he backstepped and shoved the muzzle of the gun in it's open jaw "Boom." and shot another armor piercing round into it. "Hey, care to jump in, miss beanstalk?" he said rather assertively while taking another glance towards the girl, who was standing behind him.

Marina jolted where she stood, realizing that just staring at someone as they were attacked was probably not the best thing to do, and readied Velocius and Fortior. She charged the remaining beowolf with her shield, smashing it across the creature's jaw, following up with a fire-dust swing from her mace. The small explosion that resulted staggered the grimm back, allowing her to heft an overhand swing directly at it's head. The mace impacted with a hefty crack, shattering the mask and caving the wolf-like creatures face in upon itself. With a final uppercut underneath it's jaw with her shield, the grimm flew back and started to dissolve.

She turned back to Purple Boy, as she had been calling him in her head, "Aren't you the boy who got kicked by the midget at dinner last night?"
"No that was my cousin, Rodriguez." he replied, rather jokingly.
"...Oh. That's sarcasm, isn't it?" She asked. "Right. Um, I guess we're partners now. I'm Marina. Marina Radcliffe."
Looking at her rather intently, he was trying to gauge her skill, "Hm, Pax. Pax Ianthe." he responded, "Let's find the damn temple, I am getting tired."

Marina tilted her head back, glancing at the sun again. "North is this way. I suppose we'd best get a move on."
Shrugging, he began following Marina, "Let's hope you're right"
"Directional competency is something all students are taught at the Atlas Military Academy." She rattled off, sounding like she was repeating a spiel someone had given her at one stage. As he followed, she thought to herself, '...At least he's not tiny?'
"Right right, lead the way princess." he replied, with a hint of boredom and tiredness.

Marina gave a concerned glance at her new partner, hoping he wasn't just going to fall asleep here in the middle of the forest as she led the way north. That would be super unlucky for her, having to carry him all the way to the temple and back.
Swiftly aiming his gun towards Marina, he shot, only to hit a lunging Beowolf, "No use for that directional competency when you're dead." he said to her, rather nonchalantly "I value tactical awareness more I guess, but I digress. Let's hurry it's getting dark."
Marina whirled as the shot rang out and stared at the dissolving beowolf. "Thank you." She softly said. 'Get your head in the game, Marina. Pull it together.'
