Norsun uses a mace-flail with a morningstar head and I've seen plenty of characters using hammers and maces, so you're not the only one with a blunt force weapon. Though if you really wanted to change her weapons to something sharp later on, there is always the pickhammer, which would be similar in fighting style to the hammers, which would reduce her adjustment time when it comes to learning a new weapon.
Oooh. I love her weapon now that I've seen it. That's awesome.
Hey Hey Hey, blunt force weapons are deadly as shit, those things are MADE for pounding through armor and shit, hell if a good blow to a breast plate didn't cave in your chest, there was a good chance you'd die from the armour being so bent to hell you couldn't breathe. Hammers are awesome, second only to flails :P
I prefer the hammers, personally. If only because you can go to any hardware store and get a reasonable substitute for a warhammer. Question is, did you draw the images for those weapons yourself?
Alright, Silver, a few minor concerns. 1:the picture of the wolf pup is a bit superfluous, most people know what a red wolf looks like. It is cute though. that was spirit talking. 2:Just curious, did you draw the weapons? if not, please remove any weapon images that are not made for you use, I allow borrowed pictures for characters but not weapons. if they're your own work, then it's fine, though.. 3:May want to clarify the class as, while a literal example of what she does, isn't really a class in and of itself. the description is a high damage per hit, low damage per second fighting style, so a fighter or barbarian class is best. 4:Other than that, she's pretty much accepted and has been assigned to team NCTR. Fox will add her shortly.
Hey! This looks really interesting, and I was wondering if there were still slots open? If so, I can read through everything I need to and have a sheet up by tonight.
@Phantomlink959 For your consideration, if anything needs to be scrapped/changed just holler!
1) Basic info:
Name: Rori Nu Team/occupation: Member of team NCTR Species: Human
Age: 17 Sex: Female
Handedness: Right
Aura/Effects: A dull, nearly ethereal silver/faintly blurs form Symbol: A simple silver circle with inward-facing dashes at the cardinal directions Physical traits: Scrawny, but holds a runner’s form Misc traits: Many old lash marks upon her back, as well as a mark on her neck Nickname(s): N/A
2) Appearence:
Height: 5’5 Weight: 90lbs Eyes: Dull silver Skin color: Pale, almost sickly Face: Small but soft, with childishly wide eyes Hair: Black, chopped short and messy Physique: Lithely muscled, shaped by a life of movement Combat Outfit: Rori’s combat armor favors speed and concealment. It consists of hard-leather sections above a layer of cloth armor that runs to the top of her neck, all of which are dyed black as could be. The guarded sections include gauntlets about her forearms and shins, as well as a cuirass that runs to her midriff to allow for bending and rolling. A waist coat falls knee-length in front of and behind her legs, but is not connected at the sides. Her face is covered by a black mask to cover what’s left of the skin, with subtle holes for the eyes that, at a distance, don’t appear visible. The final piece of her attire is a ratty old blue scarf, which rarely, if ever, leaves her neck. Casual Outfit: Rori’s casual outfit is more or less the same as above, minus the guarded portions, mask, and waist-coat.
3) Characteristics:
Background: Rori grew up a street urchin and a thief, whose only income came from being able to pull the wool over the eyes of her marks. Sleight of hand, deception, these became the tricks of her trade, and though they served to put food in her stomach, over time it wasn’t enough. Perhaps she could have gone on forever swindling people out of money or snatching wallets from passed out patrons, but she wasn’t content living day to day. When she was fourteen she was hired as an assistant to a blacksmith, an elderly man with a kind enough heart to hire her despite the raggedy appearance. The pay, on top of her other activities, allowed her to live at least a little better than she had before. Three years she spent helping him, be it sweeping the floor, cleaning the forge, or fetching clients, and after three years her waiting finally paid off. The man was by no means a master smith, but he was skilled enough to have formed a reputation in the town, and in a few towns beyond. Though most orders were usually simple swords or armor, a client wrote one day and attached a great sum of money, greater than any order prior, to his request. The blacksmith worked tirelessly, and when at last the weapons were complete, he fell ill. With no other option, he entrusted them to Rori, and asked her to deliver them to the client the next town over. With a nod and a promise of return, Rori took the blades and secured passage as far from the smith and the client as possible. She never heard from either, but didn’t bother to check either. Perhaps the illness had taken him, then the client might think that the weapons were simply never finished. It would have made things easier, but she couldn’t bring herself to wish he was dead. Betraying people had been second nature to her for most of her life, but still she was shaken by what she’d done. Selling the weapons wasn’t going to happen, so she decided they needed to be put to use. Her sights turned from hiding, and towards Beacon. Personality: Rori wears masks, both literally and figuratively. She can be outgoing and friendly, quiet and reserved, whatever is necessary for the time at hand. When at rest, she has a habit of sizing people up like living blueprints, looking for flaws and weaknesses, even if she has no intention of abusing them. She’ll casually lie in conversation every now and then, more as a hobby than as a means to an end, and isn’t the type to keep secrets to herself if it’ll benefit her. Under the dishonor there is loyalty however, usually garnered through respect, as well as a living if not crippled sense of morality. Rori might steal from a dying man, but she’s not about to burn down an orphanage for a profit. Likes: Money, gullible people, one-on-one conversations Dislikes: “The strong, silent type”, being out-cheated, being cornered
4) Weapon
Name: The Twins Maker/Smith: Umaril Detherson
x2
Weapon Derivation: Kukri Knives Holstered/Sheathed Appearance: Worn in horizontal sheathes at hip-level on Rori’s back. Form 1: Same as image. Features/Capabilities: The blades are a forearm in length and hold no transforming capabilities, but are incredibly resistant to dulling and very light-weight. In trained hands they can be swung with little resistance to gruesome effects. Planned/Possible Upgrades: N/A Notes: One bears the inscription “My Son”, the other “My Daughter”.
5) Semblance:
Name: Ebb and Flow Type: Physical General description: The storing and redistributing of momentum General limitations: Provides no benefits to strength or resilience, if Rori hits someone with a high-momentum punch, she’s going to feel it just as much as they do. Cannot redirect the momentum of heavy projectiles. Visual effect: The color fades from her eyes entirely during the duration of its use. Passive ability: Rori has a keen sense of balance from years of possessing the ability Active ability: While active, Rori passively stores the momentum from her movements and from things she touches that are in motion. Upon usage, she redirects the momentum in order to quickly change directions, slow down and speed up.
6) Combat info:
Position/Class: Tactician/Skirmisher Landing strategy: Redirects her momentum to soften the landing, often sends her skidding forward a ways as a result. Fighting style: Fast paced and tactical, Rori prefers cutting an enemy a thousand times safely over a risky all-or-nothing attack. She dodges more than she blocks, and her attacks are usually slashes to sensitive areas, learned preferably prior to the fight, but if she has to do it on the spot, she can adapt.
7) Trivia:
Relationships: None Notes: The name “Nu” is attached to no family, Rori made it up herself, and drops/picks it up as is needed.
(No rule of cool unless it's one off for a finishing move)
Well, for one, you got the confirmation question wrong. but I pretty much forgot it was even there. Me and my Co-GM's will go over her soon as we're all on, then we'll get back to you.
The wolf pup and the Derivation images don't belong to me, found them with a google search. I did however get the ides of twin hammers from that picture, so thought that was acceptable.
The other four are mine, I drew them, I stuck them in photoshop, I edited and coloured them. The skeleton for Tamn isn't mine, comes from a Library book, but I can't remember which, it was on some tracing paper when I cleaned up my desk, but the hair, ears, clothes, and colour are all mine. Other stuff:
I'll work on clarifying class now.
The thought behind changing her hammers was that with something the size of Grimm, especially with their 'face-plates', crushing skulls isn't going to be easy, and unlike those with blades she can't just lop their heads off, It takes three or four hits at least to kill things.
Oh and the wolf pup was as much for my reference as it was for yours.
lose the derivation image. the pup, while superflous, is technically acceptable since it's not the actual symbol. weapons were fine, just the pictures concerned me.
@Mcmolly Preliminary result is not looking good. Name doesn't meet CNR, she is horribly underweight, and has no combat training or experience. you make mention of lash marks on her back, but give no explanation WHY, she wears full face coverings for SOME reason and you imply something happened to cause damage to her face, but no other mention is made throughout the sheet, and her weapon is one that requires a fair degree of skill and training that she simply doesn't have.
We're working on a more detailed look at what needs adjustment, but those are the most obvious problems.
