Fate has a strange way of working sometimes: One second you're so certain that something is about to occur, and that nothing you can do can change it, and then the universe just seems to pick up on that feeling and flip the script entirely. No one knew this better than Dimitri, who just a few moments ago was certain he was about to die. At least, he was certain until not one, but three different people came to his aid. The first was the guy that was in front of him earlier, a normal enough guy that Dimitri couldn't help but respect for having the guts to step back into the store and help out when he could have just left. The next two where a bit different to say the least: The assistant woman bursted into the shop far faster than he could track with his eyes, though the vibrating in his jaw had allowed him to at least have a vague idea of the general direction she'd moved in, the next person however, seemed to either be heavily into comic conventions, or was a bonafide hero.
With the threat finally eliminated Dimitri slumped down onto his hands and knees, feeling the adrenaline drain out of him along with his energy and strength. A few of the store's patrons came to help him up, others took pictures of him and the other heroes of the day for their various social media websites, and some simply stood around and whispered amongst each other as they observed the group. "Hey, you alright there man? Come on, let's get you up" "Your face is bleeding, they didn't manage to shoot you anywhere else, did they? Someone grab a bandage.", "You guys see him deck that dude? And what was with that crazy ass wrestling move? I ain't never seen someone that flexible before. How'd you do all that, man? You some kinda weight lifting gymnast or some shit?". Dimitri remained speechless as he was helped back onto his feet, he felt like puking as the realization of how close he'd been to dying hit him. Someone handed him a bandage which he took with a small nod before applying it to his face, though the action was more subconscious than anything as his mind was elsewhere. The group around him seemed to pick up on his lack of focus and gave him some room to breathe as they went to either help up Barclay or gawk at the others. 'How'd you do all that, man?', Those words rang in his head repeatedly, 'How....how did I do all of that?I was never that strong, fast, or flexible. Especially flexible. Given the anatomy of the human body my spine should be broken or at the very least cracked in about three different places. What the hell is happening to me?'.
