An update to my Captain, I'll keep chipping away at it but the next few days are somewhat busy for me by the looks of it. Should be able to finish it Wednesday however as that is my day off of work.

Hello everyone! Have mostly completed my CS, i pm'ed it to you @Spud for initial approval.

I'm interested in joining as a science-y type character, most likely as a surveyor.

Does the SIRIUS have faster than light propulsion or communication?

I'm gonna just nod and say yeah coz why not, a researcher position sounds fab. As of right now though we're swamped with males and need a few ladies to balance it out a little, if you only play males thats fine, but just a heads up, we need about 2-3 girls (so people willing to double up or claim a spot if they haven't already, pitch your ideas here and if its cool I'll let ya'll post in the Character thread!!!)

Position: "Other" - Mercenary (hired to help in tight situations aboard the ship, since of course it isn't a typical battle ship)

Qualifications: He and his brother, Osmond, at a young age sparred together. Their father taught them how to handle themselves in more situations as they grew older. He was drafted into the military and saw very little action when he was 19. He did however pick up skills on hacking and basic medical practices. He knows enough to handle himself.

Your char looks good to me in general however I'm stuck a bit on the hacking part, given that he is a merc and served in the military why would he be hacking? I get the medical field training as part of the course, but I don't see how he could be serving in the military as well as sitting at a desk hacking. Maybe I'm reading into things wrong because my eyeballs are fuzzy today. You say he saw very little action when he was drafted at 19, and now your char is 24 and is essentially the "muscle" of the crew but he seems to have more professional experience with hacking than military service, given that he's also very young I think its unlikely he'd have significant experience in both but he could have significant experience in one. I'm just trying to figure out if your character is a hacker or a merc because it seems like he has more experience in the hacking yet you say he is a merc.

Could you makehim specialise in hacking, or remove the hacking part and focus on his military record or perhaps increase his age so he'd have time to skill-up his hacking and/or military rank. If he's going to be the muscle of the crew, he needs to have either the training experience or a significant background/history to hold it up.

Fair enough, would make sense of it was an undercover op as well as Alphonso was force drafted by the military after they caught him and the pirate crew he was running with.

I do have a slightly random question is there a big bad corporate company that is land or money hungry or a giant government that the people can't stand? Jut wanted to maybe a common enemy and if not maybe jut some world flavor.

@Diabolic Just putting in my two cents and maybe it fits your char or not he could be AWOL and jut left the military after finding it didn't really fit but also seeing the discipline of the char maybe not as Shifter aid an undercover op would give him reason to be there maybe investigating connection to smugglers or pirates.

JK, but no, there should be some common enemy, not necessarily a dictatorship that the crew have to fight to save the galaxy, but yes, I believe we could have a "neutral" government, as in one that isn't autocratic, but one that has its fair share of stupid policies that cause discontent. Since Shifters char (the captain) does not appear to want to continue a military career (affiliated with the government/law etc) nor does he want to stick along the pirate route, I think its safe to say the crew inhabits a neutral mmiddleground, perhaps taking on jobs from both sides, legal and shady deals. If events in the RP begin to shift the crew from a neutral position to one either end of the spectrum (paragon or renegade haha) then we'll adjust appropriately IC :)

I hope everyones cool with that, unless someone wants to suggest some kind of corrupt agency etc I'll gladly hear it. I don't want to lay down the law too much here, if the group would rather take things in some other direction please don't hesitate to speak up.

I'll make a female character, if anyone wants to double a female char, do comment. Im waiting on Nariata to post a CS for another merc character, perhaps if Diabolic sticks with the merc route as opposed to hacker, the two mercs could have a bit of a backstory together. Having two mercs on board means maybe we should include some kind of threatlike you suggest Fuzzy.
