Alright I'm going to talk about some of the stuff LottaPumpkins brought up.
Rithy talked about her characters things already. Although her predictions may tell what the future holds, they're predictions, like she said she's gotten one wrong and one was vague. So it's sort of a hit or miss thing. Her divination powers though make my job a lot easier, I can use Rithy's character as an aid to help direct the plot.
As for MarcusXVI's Commissar, while I understand that usually Bolt-weapons are pretty unusable by normal humans, there are cases everywhere of guys using Bolters without breaking their arms. Commissar Yarrick lugs around a Stormbolter and fires it with his offhand. So, I made an exception for our Commissar. As for his Necron blade, I saw similarities between Slayer's Blade and the C'tan Phase Weapons used by the Callidus Assassins. I let him have it because I have a plan/plot for his character, and his sword.
Good luck Marcus.
Shadowman's assassin is yeah, one of the strongest characters we have right now due him being well, a Vindicare. We'll see how he progresses in the RP. But I let him in since a Vindicares strengths are sniping and stalking, and we won't be doing much of that in the RP.
Switch01's Malek is indeed another one of our strongest characters. I banned Grey Knights, Blanks, etc because of their immense strength and ability. However we do need a a good tanky person, and I thought he was a good way to acquire one without letting a Grey Knight in. Aside from lugging around an autocannon and being good at threatening doors so they open, Malek isn't that useful. He can't smooth talk his way past guards, or mingle with the nobles to acquire intel. And a character who has difficulty overcoming an obstacle is more fun to play as than one who can easily step over it, right?
And the kinds of missions we will be doing, usually isn't stealth subterfuge. We're an Ordo Malleus team, from my understanding, we go to where the Daemons are and smack them in the face. This mission where we've had to come up with disguises and false identities is the first time this team has had to do this sort of thing. So the team composition might not be tuned for said missions. We also won't be doing these sort of missions very often, maybe twice in total, out of the four/five planned.
While Findragon's Stormtrooper is a bit outlandish, as LottaPumpkins says, it's not impossible to have a constant lone survivor. Low level Psykers often find themselves to be incredibly lucky in most situations. This luck is out of their control and typically happens in high-stress environments, like a suicide mission. His character may change dramatically if he finds out that he has some Psychic ability, as it is a life changing discovery.
I may or may not also have a plan/plot for his character.
Hopefully this explains some of my thought processes when I approved these characters.
