Diego made his way in the direction that Bliss pointed, trusting that she had found the best match for them. It seemed the majority of the people who had shown up that day had already claimed their Pokemon and were leaving. He could only wonder where his mother had wandered off to.
He looked around as he got closer to the area his Aipom had pointed to, noticing that there did seem to be a higher concentration of Bug type Pokemon in this area. He spotted a Caterpie that inched along the ground nearby. Up above he spotted what looked like a Yanma. And suddenly he found himself face to face with... What was that? "What the hell?!" He jumped back, startled by the Pokemon.
And yet it looked familiar. He'd seen something similar to it, hadn't he? An incredibly quick bug type absolutely destroying his Scyther in the Pokeathlon Dome. It had moved so fast they hadn't even seen it until the competition was over. Was this related to that Pokemon, Ninjask? He moved forward to take a closer look, when the Pokemon's apparent trainer suddenly appeared and spoke up.
"Don't mind my friend. He's too curious for his own good. Aren't you, mon petit? "I'm Placide, and this here is Agne. He can be a little unruly, but I promise he's a real sweetheart once you get to know him."
Agne. Diego stared at Agne. It was an eerie thing, but it was unmistakenly a bug. He grinned. This was possibly the most interesting thing he'd seen in his life and hadn't even started on his journey. Hopefully it didn't just go downhill from here.
"Anyways, we got lost. Big city, you know? So tell me what I missed, will ya?"
Turning his attention to the girl, a little older than him it seemed. "Well, it's nice to meet you both. I'm Diego, and this is Bliss." The Aipom climbed down form his head to stand on his shoulder, leaning out forward to get a good look at them both, then waved its hands in greeting. "You didn't really miss much. The Professor giving a speech on loving Pokemon, cause you know, none of here know anything about that. After that it was basically fair game. 'Go out and find your Pokemon to adopt. There's a box over there somewhere with some equipment.'" He gestured in the general direction he believed the crates to be in. "So now bliss here's leading me to some Pokemon she found. She won't tell me what she found, but from the looks of this part of the sanctuary, it's probably some sort of bug Pokemon. She knows me pretty well." He laughed, then looking at Bliss he added, "Not that you're any less awesome than a bug... Well maybe a little." There was a quick slap of the tail at the side of his head, and then he and the Pokemon were full of laughter. He took notice of the quickly dwindling crowd then looked once more to the trees. "But yeah, I better get to that. It's looking like they want to close up for the day. Good luck finding your Pokemon." He nodded in acknowledgment to both Placide and Agne then began to walk off.
"How fascinating," Korrigan remarked as he looked over the 'Pokedex', as Carl had called it. He pointed the device at Jet, curious to see what it would say. After taking a moment to scan the pokemon, a robotic voice spoke up.
"Froakie: the Bubble Frog Pokemon. It secretes flexible bubbles from its chest and back, which reduce any damage it would otherwise take from an attack."
"Huh, I always thought they were just for decoration. The more you know." Korrey pocketed the Pokedex, reminding himself to check Fidget and Regina later, before turning his attention back to Carl. Before he could respond to his greeting, however, another boy asked for assistance with registering his Squirtle. The sight caused Korrey to chuckle a little bit at how silly the situation looked. "Such a willful spirit, I'm sure training him will be quite the trial. Ah, but where are my manners, I've yet to introduce myself." He reached up to lower his hood, revealing his red/black hair and rather intimidating eyes. He introduced himself with a bow, giving the other trainers a warm, gentle smile that contrasred greatly with his rather fearful appearance. "My name is Korrigan, a Priest of the Church of Yveltal, and this is my companion, Jet. The other two are pokemon I've just adopted from this sanctuary, Fidget and Regina."
Korrigan had made sure to gesture to each pokemon as he named them, and each one responded in a different way. Jet simply looked down on them from his place on Korrigan's shoulder, looking rather unimpressed with the people his trainer had chosen to associate with. Fidget, who had been flying around aimlessly, landed on his new Trainer's head and gave out an excited squek of delight. Regina was hidden behind him, and when gestured to, simply growled warningly at them. She was still hesitant around her own trainer, so anyone else should expect a rough reception from her.
With his pokemon now missing Ren thought that he better getting moving soon. Abra was a troublemaker but what kind problems could a small yellow troll cause. Then again a small troll. It was sad that was exactly what his Abra tended to be sometimes. Ren walked over to the boxes and pulled out some of the last pokedex and Holocaster. Of course a trainer like him had plenty pokeballs so he left the remaining ones there for the professor and his many assistants.
"Guys we better get going." He told his pokemon as he held up his two pokeballs and a red light shot out from each returning Magikarp and Bulbasaur into their resting place. "Thanks for everything professor!" He yelled as he begun to run out of the building looking for his Abra.
As Ren ran out of the building he noticed a girl sitting with her Gothita. It was not the girl that caught his attention as much as the pokemon that she sat with. Even though Ren had something he should be doing right now he simply could not help himself when he saw a cool pokemon. Especially if it was a pokemon that he had never seen before. Ren walked over to Cerise and picked up her Gothita and held it in his hands. Then he looked down at the trainer.
"Sorry about that. I guess I get carried away sometimes when it comes to pokemon."
Cerise practically squawked in surprise when suddenly some stranger had snatched her little Iris out of her lap. The odd… lizard thing trapped in her bag was momentarily forgotten as Cerise scrambled to her feet, pulling herself up to her full (unimpressive) height.
"Hey!" she all but shouted at the boy.
Ren looked back at her. She was almost as tiny as her baby pokemon. He almost wanted to pat her on her head except she looked pretty startled right now. He could still pull it off but maybe it would be better to take a different approach. First he handed back her pokemon.
"I am so sorry. I thought your pokemon looked so cool so I wanted to say hi to it." Ren said trying to apologise.
Almost before the stranger stretched out to hand the gothita back to her, Cerise reached out and snatched her pokemon back. Cradling Iris to her chest, she made a soft cooing noise. Not that it seemed to matter to the little gothita. She just kept staring at Cerise, impassive. Certain that her pokemon was safe and calm, Cerise snapped her head back up to glare at the boy.
”Yeah, well it was still rude!” she snapped. Cerise huffed to herself, looking back down at Iris and petting down her ruffled fur. Honestly, some people.
The muffled sound of disgruntled squeaking snapped her out of her thoughts, and Cerise’s eyes widened when she looked back at her bag on the floor. It was moving. That stupid lizard was still in her bag.
Ren looked at the girl and almost started laughing but he knew that would be even more rude of him. By the way she held her pokemon and how protective she was towards it he could tell that she must be a new trainer. It almost reminded Ren of his Spearow and how he never let anyone touch it until it was healed. But that was way back when he was a kid and did not know anything really. Then he noticed something.
”Hey what is in your bag? You don’t catch your pokemon in there do you?” He asked the girl.
”It stole my berry, ok?” Cerise snapped back. She flinched when the words replayed in her head, and she realized that made no sense at all as far as explanations went. If she wasn’t holding Iris in both hands, she would’ve smacked her forehead.
“So you kidnapped it for stealing from you? If you’re going to kidnap pokemon then why not make it legit and catch it?” He replied to her.
The girl glared at him then knelt down beside the bag, shifting Iris so the Gothita was resting in one hand.
”I didn’t kidnap it,” she tried again, growing more flustered the longer this conversation went on. ”It jumped in my bag on its own and I reacted.” Reaching out her free hand, she hesitated a moment before poking the bag. The fabric jumped and Cerise squeaked as she fell back on her butt. Blushing, she glared at the bag. ”Ok,” she said through gritted teeth, ”how do I get it out without it… jumping at me?”
“Well that pokemon is going to jump out at you no matter what.” Ren interjected to her. “But remember a pokemon won’t respect you if you run away from them. Just face it head on and you have done nothing wrong.” Ren advised her.
Cerise paused at his response and then looked up at him.
”You are zero help.” She turned back to the bag and crept closer again. Placing Iris on the ground next to her, she curled her fingers around the bag, trying not to jump again when the fabric moved. Her other hand grabbed the zipper. She was frozen for a moment as she worked up her nerve. Then with a deep breath, she yanked her bag open.
The moment the zipper was undone, the berry-coated lizard came flashing out of the bag. Cerise squeaked and fell back again, bringing her hands up to block her face on reflex… except the lizard never made it to her.
Iris had jumped up and bodily smacked the green pokemon. Granted, the blow hadn’t actually done anything to it except surprise it. Iris stood between the lizard and Cerise, impassive as ever. The lizard looked between the tiny doll-like pokemon, up at Cerise, and then finally at Ren. Cerise had no idea how, but its expression read ‘Are you kidding me with this?
Apparently it was unimpressed.
Ren looked on at the situation. The pokemon in the bag was none other than a small Treecko. It didn’t exactly look like it was in the girl’s favor if it insisted on a battle but they said newly hatched pokemon could be surprising. Of course Ren would intervene if it got dangerous. Then again would he have to?
Ren pulled out an apple and gave it to Cerise. “Sometimes brute force is not the best way to win. You have to think outside the box.” Ren said hoping she would get what he meant.
Cerise saw the boy holding the apple in the corner of her vision, but she refused to take her eyes off of the green pokemon in front of her. The lizard seemed calm enough, watching them all with a dubious gaze. Setting her jaw, Cerise snatched the apple up and threw it across the field, hoping the lizard would follow. To her relief, it shifted to all fours to run after it… but her relief turned to horror when instead it jumped up on her outstretched hand and crawled up her arm. It scrambled from her shoulder, across her back, and down her other arm, leaving a trail of blue berry juice on her skin before it dove into her bag again. Cerise was still frozen, trying to process what just happened when suddenly there was a flash of red light from inside the fabric.
Her jaw dropped open.
”Oh no, absolutely not, you stupid reptile,” she said as she scrambled to her bag. She yanked it open, and dug until she found a shaking, warm pokeball. Grabbing it, she threw it against the tree and the lizard appeared again in a flash of light. It gave a little shake, as though the inside of the pokeball was dusty, and then focused its yellow eyes on Cerise. She swore it had the audacity to smirk at her before it dove into her bag again, grabbed another berry, and darted back to the pokeball. In less than two seconds, it had disappeared again in a flash of light. Cerise was frozen for a moment.
”…Are you kidding me?!”
Ren stood back laughing about the whole thing. Treeckos were awesome pokemon but this girl seemed to be annoyed by every single feature of it. To Ren this was the most hilarious thing he had seen all day long. “You know it is not that bad. At least all it wanted was a nice little meal.” Ren bantered at her.
Cerise looked up to glare at him, before turning back to eye the blue stains on her skin. Giving a huff, she turned back to look at Iris, who’d been still since trying to attack the lizard. The girl’s expression softened a bit and she sighed, picking up the gothita again.
”Dumb lizard thing,” she muttered to herself before dropping a kiss on top of Iris’ head. She eyed the pokeball again as though it had personally offended her. She supposed in a way it had.
Ren looked at her and realized something. “Oh hey, I never introduced myself. I’m Ren Flint.” The trainer then offered her a handshake.
Cerise pushed herself to her feet and looked down at the offered hand with an eyebrow raised. Did she really have to introduce herself to this guy? She sighed and rolled her eyes.
”Cerise,” she replied, shaking his hand in a light grip.
Ren shook her hand back. ”So are you going to keep both of them as pets?” Ren said thinking she would never be the type to travel.
Cerise wanted to ask if that was really any of his business, but kept her mouth shut long enough to come up with a less… abrasive response.
”No, not pets,” she answered as politely as she could. ”I’m going around Kalos and I need to get at least a couple of badges along the way.”
Ren looked a bit surprised to hear that since he imagined her having a terrible time. ”Cool, me too. Me and my Magikarp are going to win the Kalos Pokemon League this year. Or at least almost die trying.” He laughed a bit.
Cerise stared at Ren, raising her eyebrow again. Was that an attempt at humor? Because the way he looked to her right now, he might actually die. That seemed like a legitimate outcome that might happen, especially if he was starting off with a magikarp. Cerise didn’t know much about pokemon, but even she knew that those fish were pretty trash until you could get them to evolve.
”You and your… magikarp. Is that your only pokemon?”
”No but it’s my strongest one,” Ren told her.
Cerise looked at him, her expression slowly morphing from annoyance to disbelief.
”You’re not even joking right now, are you,” she said. ”You’re trying to lecture me on how to catch a pokemon or be a trainer or whatever, and your best pokemon is a magikarp?” Something akin to pity washed over her face. ”Oh my god, you really are going to die.”
Ren merely laughed at her remark. ”Trust me that is why Magikarp can win. Because everyone tells him that he can’t,” Ren told her.
Cerise was fairly certain this guy was off his rocker, but she just shook her head. Who was she to crush his dream?
”Ok, sure. Good luck with that.” She reached down to grab her bag off the floor, but hesitated when she saw the offending pokeball next to it. She glared a bit before snatching both the bag and the ball, making sure to not drop Iris in the process.
Then Ren got a great idea. ’Hey if you are traveling alone you are welcome to come with me. You know since we are going the same direction. Oh and I brought a ton of gear with me,” Ren proposed to her.
She froze when she heard his offer, her eyes snapping to him. On the one hand… no. On the other, she really didn’t know what she was doing with this trainer nonsense (then again, she was seriously beginning to doubt he was any better).
”You want us to travel together,” she said. Honestly, she was just stalling for time. Cerise had no idea how to answer this, and laughing in his face probably wasn’t appropriate.
Ren could see she didn’t want to so he wasn’t going to bug her about it. ”Well you don’t have to but I thought you would go crazy in the woods at night with that green pokemon with you for weeks on end.” Ren turning and started to walk away. ”But I have to locate my Abra so I wish you the best of luck and we probably will never see each other again. Bye.” Ren waved back at her as he walked away.
Cerise blinked at his retreating back. Well that was… abrupt.
”Ok bye then,” she said to the empty space. Then she just shook her head to herself again, as though to clear him from her mind. She had other things to worry about. Like deciding if she was gonna turn her stupid lizard into a purse or a pair of boots.
idek what happened. we were supposed to get our characters to travel together and it all went south. we're bad at this. i am likely the source of the problems. oh well maybe next time.
"What's taking them so long!" Salina complained to Shay. Shay gave her an evil stare, "You're the one who wanted to go!" She retorted. It had only been a minute or two since they had rushed off from Sycamore to stand by the doors to the sanctuary.
"Who cares, if they dont show soon, I'm leaving!" Salina complained, crossing her arms and turning the other way. Shay was astounded by the sudden change of heart. Salina turned back to face Shay, "You know, why did I even want this? All its going to be is being corrected by some know-it-all professor."
"Don't look at it like that. This could be a learning experience for us," Shay replied, trying to brighten Salina's mood. "You and I both know that this Acacia didn't want us to come. What if she tries to get rid of us? What will we do when we're lost somewhere in the Johto Region?"
"You don't know that! She might have been wondering what the professor might say." Shay turned away from Salina, upset by her pessimisim.
"You know, you're just like--" Salina started.
"SHUT UP! Dont bring her into this." Shay knew exactly what Salina was about to say, and she didn't like it. Everybody always compared Shay to her mother and it made her angry at the thought of it. As she turned back toward Salina, she saw Acacia who seemed to be muttering to herself. "Acacia! Its about time you got here." Shay walked up to her and continued, "Nice choker, where did ya get it?" Shay was refering to the choker that she now wore around her neck.
Acacia noticed the two girls seemed to be distressed about something and hoped it wasn't anything she had caused between the two. As her and Sycamore approached them, she was about to say something when Shay noticed the choker at her neck, asking about it.
"Oh this?" she asked, touching it with her fingertips. "It was left behind by my father." she said nonchalantly, hoping to dismiss the girls interest in it. She didn't want to start talking about her life with them. Not yet at least. Looking to Sycamore for a quick subject change, she was relieved when he got the hint.
"All right, well, time to get right to work. You two have pokemon that are still pretty weak. They've never been trained before, so I suggest thats where you start in trying to build the bond with your pokemon." he dropped his hand on Acacia's head, causing her to pout. "Acacia is going to take you two to Route 4 to start what we call the 'team building exercise'. In the meantime, I'll be going ahead to Route 6, to the Castle there. I need to secure a place to do some research and the next time I see you, I expect good things. I'll be needing your help after all, remember?" he chuckled and lowered his hand from Acacia's head. Pocketing said hand into his pants, he turned to the right and looked down the road. [b]"Back that way is Route 4. It's the perfect place to start training your pokemon at the level they are."
Acacia crossed her arms but said nothing. She had her brow raised at Sycamore, wondering why he wanted to have her alone with the two. He was the one who agreed to have them tag along. Though in honesty, she was pretty excited to spend some time other than with the crazy professor. She moved her gaze from him to the sisters and smiled. "Don't worry, you're in good hands and your pokemon will be safe since we will be sticking closer to the city. Once we get some progress there, we'll be joining up with Sycamore on Route 6." she nodded at them and noticed Sycamore had already started to sneak away. When she called out to him, he turned.
"Be safe. I don't want to take your place too early." she said, teasing him. He chuckled and nodded, turning and waving over his shoulder at them. She was smiling. Too hard. Patting her cheeks a few times, she turned back to the sisters and clapped her hands together. "Okay! Lets go!" she said excitedly.
Spheal had become Albert's and that was something to admire, he was now in the possession of two pokemon. So the first thing he did was celebrate because to be completely honest, he couldn't really contain it anymore. "Alrighty, I have a new teammate!" He shouted scaring Deino with the sudden loud noise his outburst had created.
“Really what should I call you…Nutmeg? Nah doesn’t fit you…” Ryi sighed as he watched the Chespin run around chasing Beautifly trying to protect its treats. He giggled in how adorable it all looked but somehow he really was stuck with the name. There was nothing that could fit the little grass pokemon at all. Beautifly flew back on his head a bit scared at the protective Chespin, once she flew right back Chespin went towards the pokepuff on the ground and started to eat nearly all at the pokepuffs in a very fast pace. “You hungry thing…hope I can find a place to bake some more…”
“Ches!!” Chespin continued to eat every pokepuff he just made… defiantly have to make some more later.
Deino's nose caught scent of the pokepuff's and It vacantly looked in the direction of the smell, this caught Alberts attention and he followed Deino line of sight noticing the feminine male. Now Albert was intrigued by this food that the boys pokemon seemed to love, he would have to ask about it however something else caught his eye. a frog Pokemon perched on the head of a young male It looked strangely like a, like a, Froakie. Albert quickly finished up taking the free stuff and ran over to the door. "Hey you, I see you have yourself a Froakie." Albert said to the boy near the exit, unbeknownst to him Deino was busy trying to sneak up behind the boy handing out treats...
Sam turned around to the voice from behind him. He was greeted by a friendly face. "Hey there. Yeah, I just found it in the sanctuary. Or actually, it found me. Isn't that right, Froakie?" "Froakie!" It said happily. "He isn't my first companion, though. That would be my Honedge." He said pointing at the sheathed pokemon on his back. "Say hi, Honedge." A faint snoring sound could be heard from behind Sam. Sam grabbed Honedge by it's grip and pulled the red blade out of the sheath. Honedge awoke and looked around. "It's not polite to sleep while someone is introducing themselves to you, Honedge." Sam said half jokingly. Honedge then flew out of his hand, looking at the boy. "Honedge..." He said while scratching itself on it's 'head' with it's cloth. "I'm Sam by the way. And you?"
"Thats a floating sword, floating sword, let me guess its a ghost type right?"Albert asked his eye's drawn to the floating blade. "Besides before that ghost distracts me, my name is Albert" Albert said in response to the boy "so you got a Froakie from the sanctuary. I got myself a Spheal, here let me show you, Spheal let's go!" Albert yelled as he through his Pokeball into the air, it burst upon with a brilliant white light. revealing the round Seal pokemon in all her glory. "Sph-Spheal" It said nervously, Deino meanwhile made a mad dash for the boy with the treats in a attempt to eat them.
Ryi looked at the Chespin for a bit until picking it up and looking tat it with a smile. “You are a rascal aren’t you…hhmmm since you love pokepuffs why not I call you…Puff?” Weird choice for a name…better fitted for a Jigglypuff or a Wigglytuff that for sure but it made sense. Chespin love pokepuff so call it Puff and it’s a pretty cute name as well. He pulled Chespin closer for a hug and patted it head. “You are so cute! I wonder what moves you know....” Ryi smiled as he carefully petted Puff making sure he would not touch the spiky bits on it head.
Suddenly Beautifly flew of his head and made a panic sound warning him of something. “Beau!!!” Then Chespin as well made a panic call. “Ches! Ches!!” there was something coming from the back…Ryi quickly turned to see a dino looking pokemon dashing towards him. Immediately he screamed in a high pitch tone out of fear. “AAAaaaaahhh!!!!”
The sudden high pitched scream caused Albert to turn. Sam turned around as well and saw the dragon pokemon headed for the guy as well. Quickly he grabbed Honedge out of the air and rushed within just a second between the pokemon and the guy. "Honedge, do Metal Sound!" Honedge quickly used it's attack, making a really annoying noise. Deino stopped dead in its tracks at the sound of the noise, which caused it to make sound of whimpering. "Deino be more careful next time, you could of hurt that kid." Albert said before turning to Sam "Thanks for that, Deino gets a little carried away, I mean don't we all?" Albert said with a grin. Sam let go of Honedge, then responded. "Indeed we do. Only the wisest of us can focus on their goal without any problems along the way, yet they mostly choose not to with a reason." Sam then turned to the target of the dragon type. "Are you okay?"
With a sigh of relief a trainer saved him. With a sword pokemon he had never seen in his life somehow stopped the dino pokemon from probably breaking his back. He cant believe that just happened, he was just hanging out with his pokemon then bam! A dino pokemon was after him for no reason! He put down Puff and immediately Puff ran towards the dino pokemon and seemed like to be insulting it? Or something on the lines of that but it was clear Puff was mad as ever and who wouldn’t be after nearly getting hit by a pokemon like that. “Thank god…”
He turned to the trainer who asked if he was okay, he rubbed the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. “Sure…I guess that was sudden but hey at least I am not hurt but that pokemon sure is rushing for something thats for sure!” Ryi sighed out again, he just cant believe that happened, Remma landed on top of his head and as well sighed like him. “Beau….”
The Chespin was annoyed. who wouldn't be after that had almost got hit by a nearly 40 stone pokemon. "Calm down Chespin, Deino didn't mean to cause any problems with you, he can't see thats all, so please cut him some slack." Albert said in a rush to apolgize for his pokemons action's. "Besides what where you feeding your pokemon?" Albert asked questionly to the trainer before him. "Oh and before I forget the names Albert, the guy who made Deino avoid hitting you, introduced himself as Sam" Albert finished before waiting for a response.
Sam sheathed Honedge. "That's right. And my friend here is Honedge." Then Froakie slapped Sam on the back of his head. "Oh, right, this little fella is Froakie. What is your name?"
Ryi went up to puff and picked it up, he hugged and petted him to hopefully calm it down. “I will make you more pokepuffs alright? You are a little rascal you….” He smiled sweetly at the Chepsin in his arms; it was really adorable and sweet to have such a rascal like pokemon with him. He turned to the guy and picked up a pokepuff on the ground. “Oh these! Pokepuffs I made them. They are pretty good snacks as well…maybe that’s why your…Deino? Right? Was after them…I can make some pokepuffs for it if you like?” He offered with a sweet and kind smile, he did love baking pokepuffs so a win win solution.
“My name is Ryiler call me Ryi though this is Remma.” He pointed up to his Beautifly resting on top of his head and then pointed at Puff. “And this is Puff nice to meet you all! Well after that near crash thing but ya nice to meet you!” he smiled sweetly at the two boys.
Sam looked at the two guys. "You two seem like good company. How about we add eachother on our HoloNav?"
“Holo Navs? I am sorry I don’t know that…is it this thing?” He pulled out the HoloCaster he got and showed it to Sam, technology wasn’t his thing and he wasn’t updated with the new fancy stuff.
Sam got a bit red. "Yeah, I guess your right. Forgot for a second they were called Holo-Casters."
"Yea that seems like a good idea" Albert said pulling out his own Holo-Caster, and yet he seemed to have a better idea. "Why don't we just travel around together?" Albert asked Ryi and Sam almost casually.
Travel…together? That’s new though it would make things easier of course, traveling companion s, not being alone in the dark with some spooky pokemon about…that really sounds like a good idea but though he just meet the two guys even though they look friendly and helped him it just stranger danger basically. “That sounds okay I guess…I mean…well…we just met each other and just like that?” It was also showed that Beautifly was a bit uncomfortable with this idea as well as she drooped down her wings. “Beau….”
Sam smiled. "The best bonds can only be forged in battle." He said. "Or to put it the easy way: we can only get to know eachother if we become traveling partners. I'm in."
Battle…that actually sounds like a good idea, to see how they work and plan, it would even help him practice with some performance ideas he had. “Sure! Lets battle! Me, Puff and Remma are ready!” Puff agreed and as well as Beautifly as she flew around the two guys ready for a battle.
"that is something I agree with, but ill just want to watch the first fight, oh and Sam after you fight Ryi, I want to fight you!" Albert said, mainly because Honedge intrigued him considerably, and the fact Deino wanted to hit the thing that caused its ears to start ringing.
"It's settled then." Sam responded. He walked outside and the street was empty, so they had plenty of space for the battle. "How you wanna do this, Ryi? Normal or a double battle? I'm fine with either."
"HHmmm Lets do a double battle!” He smiled, he was excited for the battle now though he never battle before so this would be interesting to see.
"A double battle it is. Froakie. Honedge. Take your positions." Sam said. Froakie jumped of Sam's head and Honedge floated in its sheath from Sam's back and positioned itself next to Froakie. "You may have the first move."
Outside at an empty street…this was it, this was his first battle ever, Beautifly flew down and Chespin jumped down from his arms, it strike a confident pose like it knew they were going to win. “Al-alright! Remma fly up, Puff get ready!” It was clear that he wasn’t really ready since this was his first battle but he got to make it work. “Remma use Gust Puff head behind and use….uuhh…what moves do you know…” He didn’t know what moves Puff used but Puff used bullet seed on Froakie.
Sam got a sly smile on his face. Without saying a word, he knew that Honedge knew what to do. Froakie paniced and as the gust headed towards Honedge and the Bullet seed towards Froakie, Froakie crossed his arms trying to block the attack. However, Honedge quickly avoided the gust and unsheathed itself, using it's sheath as a shield for protecting Froakie. Froakie opened it's eyes, seeing the sword pokemon floating in front of him. "Good job, Honedge. Now, do fury cutter on Chespin and Froakie do quick attack on Beautifly!"
Ryiler watched carefully at his opponent, he really knew what he was doing and for him..he was just a newbie at this but he cant give up “Puff! Dodge quick! Remma use string shot fast!” He shouted at them in panic but he was holding his ground. Puff tried to avoid the fury cutter but it seemed like it got hit. “Ches!!” Chespin land hard on the ground but stood up quick not ready to give up on this fight jsut yet. “Good job! We can do this…use tackle on Froakie quick! Remma after string shot use absorb on Honedge quick!”
After Fury Cutter landed it's hit, Honedge quickly flew back to Froakie, and cut the string shot in half with it's red blade. This gave way for Froakie to land it's hit on the Beautifly, but also exposed Honedge for the next attack of Beautifly. "Hone..." He said when he got hit by the grass attack move. However, it wasn't very effective, and he quickly regained his balance. He then got between Froakie and Chespin. "Keep it up you two! Honedge, do your Fury Cutter again on Chespin and make sure he doesn't reach Froakie. Froakie, use bubble on Beautifly."
As Beautifly got hit by the quick attack he started to really panic, he wasn’t sure what to do next but he got to make sure everyone was still standing. “Remma dodge the bubble quick!” He made sure that Remma did indeed dodge that attack but Chespin was having trouble with the quick Honedge, this was getting tricky…he knew that it be easy to take out Froakie with Puff but with Honedge blocking Puff form attack it was hard…he needed to take down that Honedge but he wasn’t sure how..then and idea pop up. “Remma use your gust and spin around the two! Use it to make enough speed! Hurry!!” Remma did what she was told to, she circled around the two using gust to boost her speed causing her to go really fast and make is really hard to catch her. ‘”Beeau!!” “Puff Quick run in circles around them and use bullet seed!”
Sam looked straight at Froakie, and when Froakie looked his way, he looked at Honedge. Honedge nodded, and also looked at Froakie. Froakie got the message, and grabbed Honedge's grip, and when the bullet seed was about to hit them, he jumped into the air out of the pokemon tornado. With Froakie's strong legs he landed a few meter away from the tornado, while the bullet seed was still being shot in the middle of the tornado, heading for the edges of it, where Beautifly and Chespin were still running.
Then a small smile appeared on his face, he quickly shouted. " Puff!! Reverse running and tackle behind hurry!" Froakie went out of tornado Remma made and hopefully reversing Puff direction would make a sudden attack, and it look like it work as Puff gave it all in that surprise tackle. Beautifly continued fly around until Ryi watched Honedge for a bit and shouted again. "Remma drop!! Puff get ready!" She suddenly dropped and then used string shot wrapping Honedge in string then Chespin after the tackle with a stuck Honedge used bullet seed on it. "Alright!, We can do this!! Lets go Puff and Remma!!" Ryi cheered out, jumping up and down as he was getting the basis of it.
Sam smile grew now. Exactly as planned... Froakie got hit by the Tackle, and let go of Honedge while tumbling back, and Honedge got wrapped up by the String Shot while getting hit by Bullet Seed. However, the Bullet seed did barely any damage to the Honedge as he was partly steel type. And while both pokemon were focussing on Honedge, Froakie recovered quickly. "That's it Froakie! Finish it with Quick Attack and Bubble!" Froakie launched into Chespin with it's Quick attack, stopping the continues attack against Honedge, then used Bubble against Beautifly, freeing Honedge.
He was down on his luck, Chespin got hit hard on that quick attack and Beautifly was giving it all but not doing much...he had no idea what to do but Puff was still hanging on, it was still standing but it was hurt and tired...He cant lose now but he cant think of a way to win like this...That Honedge is really tough to beat and there was nothing that can do critical damage to it. He was a performer...not a battler!! "Puff...Remma..." Then Puff charge at Honedge and let out a cry.
"CHHesssppinn!!" It used vinewhip...it knew vine whip?! He didnt know taht and it didn't do much damage on it but it made him believe he can do it...just push a bit more and then go for it. "Remma come on use abdorb on Froakie and Puff..,hang on and use vine whip on Honedge...pushh it back!!"
Sam smiled one more time. Not because he had a plan but because he was impressed by the courage of the little pokemon. However, it was pointless. "Finish them off with Fury Cutter and Quick Attack!" And as commanded, Honedge cut right through the Vine Whipe and hit Chespin, while Beautifly got hit by Froakie's Quick Attack. This was the last push both pokemon needed to faint.
With that fury cutter and quick attack the two pokemon were still hanging on but not much longer Beautifly fainted, she flew down and Ryi had to run fast to catch her from falling on the ground. "Remma!!" He caught her, Remma made a sad sound that they lost but he petted her telling he right was alright and they did their best. "You did well, you did your very best..." It was clear he was upset he lost but he understood now, battling wasn't for him...watching Remma fly and Puff run around made him plan for tricks and performance not battle strategies... Puff collasped as well, he ran up to pick him up and smiled. " You did awesome! dont be sad...I promise to make you alot of pokepuffs for your guys work!" They both look at him and cheered on. "Beau!" "Ches!" He looked up at Sam and bowed. "That was a great fight thank you..." He stood up carrying the two tired pokemon and went down on the side to treat them...good thing had some potions to help.
Sam bowed back. "It was great indeed, but it couldn't be great without you. You had some great tactics back there. If being a gym challenger doesn't work out, you could maybe become a Pokemon Coordinator." Froakie then jumped onto Sam's face again and hugged it. "Please, Froakie! I know you are happy, but could you at least let me breath?" As his Froakie got back on the back of his head, he stretched out his hand and Honedge flew back into his hand. He sheathed him, and then turned to Albert. "My pokemon need to rest now, but we will have our battle soon, okay?"
"Fine" Albert said a bit annoyed but hey it made sense in the context, the battle that had just transpired would take alot out of both party's and Albert could wait, even though he didn't want to, he could wait. "so I guess this is it, are we finally a team now?" Albert asked.
"Looks like it." Sam said. "However, before we go on a journey, we need to know where we are heading. I suggest we start by heading towards Santalune City, as one of the gyms is there." He said while pulling out his Town Map.
"yea that seems like a good idea, after all, I want to collect all the badges and make my mother proud, and learn something new!" Albert said with a wide grin.
After patching up the two with some potion Remma flew back on his head and Chespin in his arms he walked towards the two who didnt have their fight. He was caring for the two hurt and tired pokemon. "I guss so? I wont be for the badges though..." It was true, he wasnt going to earn badges he instead planned to practice to perform with his team. "If there is a contest there I would be happy to join that! I want to try out performing and I got an outfit to try as well!" t was ture he just bought a dress he would like to wear in a contest to try things out. "Well then travel buddies lets go!" Remma flew aorund them and Puff cheered on. "Wait! here celebratory Pokepuffs!" He still had some pokepuffs and hand is out to the guys and their pokemon, he gave a choco puff to Puff and a pink oran berry one to Remma "Enjoy!"
"Thanks." Sam said. He took the Pokepuffs, gave one to Froakie who was still hanging onto his head, then turned to his honedge who was looking sadly at the Pokepuffs. "I'm sorry, buddy, but as you don't have a mouth, you can't eat them..." He then put the rest of the Pokepuffs into his bag. "I say we head towards route 4 then."
"Yea, thats the best idea, plus we could catch some more pokemon" Albert agreed smiling at his Deino, after all an adventure was just about to start...
The formation of team mythical plus a battle between Ryi and Sam, plus whatever the hell Albert does,
Team Madness start on their first step to working as a team, with a few road bumps along the way. Acacia explains grinding as well as how to determing the 'Level' of your pokemon. Then the team have at it, introducing a unique type of battling while they train their pokemon.
"Sure, whatever, lets just go," Salina said, crossing her arms and glaring at Acacia. After a good minute of glaring, Salina began to walk out of the sanctuary. Noticing the obvious glare, Acacia looked back at the girl with a confused look. "Salina, is something wrong? Change your mind about coming along at the thought of a bit of work?" The girl responded with a stare that could melt ice. She obviously wasn't in the mood for this. Acacia placed her hands on her hips and gave a stank face. "She has, uhhhh, 'mood swings'," Shay whispered to Acacia, just loud enough for her to hear. She walked up to Salina and put a hand on her shoulder, "Calm down, we decided to go and thats that."
Nodding in understanding, Acacia gave an apology to Salina. "Alright, I'm sorry for assuming something different. I know we're just getting used to each other, but that's what we're going to work on. I fully intend to be friends with all your 'moods' if you'll let me. What do you say?" she asked the girl, giving a genuine smile. Acacia wasn't too worried about getting along with Shay, as she seemed really nice. Perhaps, if she did her job correctly, she could help the sisters get closer as well.
"I dont care, do what you want. I really just want to get moving right now," Salina said, almost defiantly.
"I'll take that as a yes." Acacia said, despite the answer to her question. "Let's get going then." she said, leading the way out onto the streets of the city. Thankfully, it was a straight road to Route 4, and they didn't have to cross the busy street. The city was bustling, as it always was. The sidewalks and roads were crammed with residents and travelling trainers alike. Bikers and taxi cars were swerving around the people who decided they were too cool to take the sidewalks, meanwhile pokemon were sleeping under streetlights and the smell of coffee filled the air. Numerous cafe's were flooding with people sitting outside them and chatting, laughing. The noise was music to Acacia's ears. Looking over her shoulder, she was going to say something when she noticed a rollerskater coming up behind them. Fast.
Reaching out, she pushed Shay into Salina to avoid them getting hit by the person, though as a result, was mowed down herself by the girl who was going way too fast to stop. Salina gasped at the sudden push by Acacia, she hadn't expected it so she grabbed Shay hard. Shay, in responce to the push, tried to grab Acacia's hand but barely missed it, calling out as she connected with the ground, Salina landing on top of her. Falling back onto her bottom painfully, Acacia pouted at the rollerskater who had fallen forward on her hands and knees. As soon as she was on her feet, the girl offered a hand, which Acacia swatted away.
"If you're trying to kill someone, that is a very effective way to do it." she said, standing on her own and rubbing her bottom.
"I'm so so so sorry!" the girl said, looking apoligetic. "Are you OK?"
"Yeah." she turned after trying to look at her bottom. "My dress isin't ripped is it?"
"Nope. Look, can I make it up to you?" the girl said, opening her bag and ruffling through her things. Acacia held up her hands and shook her head. "Please, I insist. I actually have a few spares. Here." the girl said, handing some rollerblade attachments to Acacia. She looked horrified at them and shook her head. "No way. I can hardly walk without killing myself. " she said, looking up, but the girl had already started to skate away.
"Sorry! I'm in a hurry! Have a good one!" she yelled, looking over her shoulder and nearly running into someone else. Sighing, Acacia looked at Shay and Salina. "Are you two OK? I'm sorry I pushed you." she paused. "Do either of you want these? I think you just stick them on your shoes when you want."
"I'm fine, those things are like a curse, your bound to die if you wear 'em." Salina said giving a disgusted look at the things.
"I agree." Acacia mumbled.
"I"ll give 'em a try. Lemme see," Shay said reaching out and grabbing the skates, practically ripping them from Acacia's hands. She sat on the sidewalk and strapped the skates to her shoes. She stood up and started to roll around a bit, but it wasn't long before she hit a small rock on the pavement and fell to her bum. "Owww, that hurt," Shay chuckled.
Snorting, Acacia reached down and helped Shay onto her feet. "Here, why dont I hold onto your hand?" she offered, looking pointedly at Salina, hoping she'd help out her sister and take the other hand.
"Is there something you want?" Salina asked in a rude tone. She gave a good few seconds between statements, "I'm a busy girl, ya' know." She mentally luaghed knowing that she had nothing to do. Letting out a laugh, Acacia looked down for a moment before looking back up at Salina. "Well, whatever it is you're doing, pause. I want you to help Shay. Your her sister afterall right?" she said, raising a brow.
"What do you think you are, my mother? I only do what I want, and I think you got it covered."
"Of course not. If I was, I'd have you and your attitude at home cleaning or something. If you wont help out and work with us, you might as well go do that." Acacia retorted, masking her agitation with a friendly tone.
"Salina! Dont you dare bring mom into this. I dont want you to mention her while we're out. if you do, then I just wont listen to what you have to say anymore." Shay said, making her way to the sidewalk with Acacia's help. Once there she sat down, unstrapped her skates and stood up. Waking over to Salina she put her hand on Salina's shoulder once again. "Lets at least try to make the best of this." Shay looked into Salina's eyes, hoping that she would understand.
"Okay, you have a point, I'll try to be nicer from now on." Salina's facial expression changed as she said this, going back to the friendly demeanor she had while in the sanctuary.
Acacia rubbed her butt again, as it was sore from falling twice in a short period of time. Looking at the sisters and how they reacted to each other made her agitation slowly fade. Suddenly, she knew why the Professor decided to leave the two under Acacia's watch, not only because he wanted to get a headstart. Sycamore was testing Acacia, even though he knew her specialty was pokemon. Not people. Scratching her head as she thought, she mumbled for the two to follow her again and she led the way to the gate to Route 4, staying quiet while they walked and dodged around people. Salina was going to be a tough nut to crack, but she figured she could watch and observe the way Shay handled her. Frowning at the thought, she realized she was doing it again. Treating a person like a research expirement. It was going to be hard for her to change.
When they reached the gate to Route 4, she led the way inside, the noise of the city almost immediately fading into a light music that was probably the same kind played in elevators. "Okay girls, on the other side of this building is Route 4. It's the perfect place to train your pokemon until about... level eight or nine. Maybe ten if you push it." turning, she looked at them. "Did you two grab a Pokedex?"
Shay reached into her bag and plucked out the pokedex, "Yupp, right here," She said, waving the device in the air.
"Same here," Salina waved her bag in the air, too lazy to take the Pokedex out.
"Okay, before we get started, I'll show you something. A new feature of the Pokedex that was updated recently. You might want to take it out and follow along." she suggested. Pulling her own out. Opening the thing, she went to stand between the sisters, holding her thing up to allow them to see. "Alright, look here, it's easy. At the bottom of the screen here, you'll see tiny figures of my pokemon team. Reckognize Wigglytuff right there?" she said pointing to the little figure. Salina nodded in sync with Shay, looking at the screen. "Okay, this is how you can keep track of your pokemon's progress. By scanning your pokemon every once in a while and changing some things manually, you can see which pokemon are doing better than the others. Follow me so far?" she asked, tapping on the figure of Wigglytuff and pulling up her information. Listed there were her moves as well as her level.
Shay nodded. "Seems simple enough, anything else?" Salina questioned, wondering what else the device could do.
"Yeah, it's pretty simple. Last thing is to scan your pokemon and register them in your team. I need to do the same since I changed three of my pokemon. Here, I'll show you how easy it is." she said. Tapping the pictures of Skarmory, Sylveon and Jellicent, she deleted them and reached to her belt, releasing Azurill, Darumaka and Rufflet in turn. Kneeling down to their level, she gestured for Azurill to come over first. Holding up the Pokedex, it registered Azurill's stats and added him to her team. A symbol popped up that meant it was loading, and when the information upload was complete, it noted the pokemon's level, seven. Acacia would do the same thing with the other two before returning them to their Pokeballs. "Your turn's." she said, standing from her crouch.
Salina replicated Acacia's actions, doing the same with Duskull and Solosis. Then Shay scanned in Skitty and Torchic, smiling as they popped up on screen. "Did I do it right?" she asked, pointing to her screen. Acacia leaned over to check Salina's then Shay's, nodding in approval. At least they were bright enough to pick up on things easily. That was a good thing. "Perfect. Remember to do this for other Pokemon you catch. It's not that important, but it helps to keep track of their progress. That way you know if your pokemon is strong enough to protect you in the more dangerous parts of the region. And... from dangerous trainers." Clapping her hands together, she smiled. "Alright! Ready to start?"
"W-Wait, what do you mean 'Dangerous Trainers'?" Shay asked, a worried look crossing her face.
"Well, there are strong people out there who get a kick out of taking down new trainers for fun.I think their bullies, but sometimes they can be really nasty. You never know who you wil run into on a journey. That's why we need to be able to trust one another to have each other's backs. No matter how much our pokemon may want to protect us, they cant always do that. That means we need to be there for eachother no matter what. Even if we may not totally like each other yet." Acacia said seriously, looking at Salina.
"I understand, I trust you Acacia," Salina said, realizing that that was directed at her. Nodding to her, Acacia gave a smile to Salina and turned to Shay, waiting for her to say something. "I trust you too, Acacia," Shay said, then she muttered "More than I trust Salina," Nodding, Acacia thanked her.
"I did hear that, Shay, if you would rather have me go home and you can go with Acacia just say it," Salina said, her expression changing from happy to almost about to cry. Shay stood not knowing what to say, she turned to Acacia. Looking at Shay, she hesitated. Taking a deep breath, she smiled and placed her hand on Salina's shoulder. "We can change that. If you're willing. I can help you become someone Shay can count on." she said, hoping the girl would respond in a positive way.
"Shay hates me and now she wont trust me, you can try but she hates me," Salina began to cry, tears streaming down her face like a waterfall. "I dont hate you Salina, its just sometimes you, kinda, ya' know, insult me," Shay said, trying her hardest to sound sympathetic. She came and stood next to Acacia and continued, "I want to trust you, but you need to let me," Running out of things to say she looked to Acacia for help.
Blinking, Acacia bit her lip. "We all have things we need to work on. I'm not good with people, Salina is really... emotional, and Shay is..." she paused. "not very tolerant of others." she said quickly before moving on. "Okay lets get going." she said, blushing and taking the hands of the girls and pulling them along onto Route 4.
Team Madness start on their first step to working as a team, with a few road bumps along the way. Acacia explains grinding as well as how to determing the 'Level' of your pokemon. Then the team have at it, introducing a unique type of battling while they train their pokemon.
Salina: "You guys suck."
Shay: "....." *sighs*
Acacia: "And you swallow."
Salina: "Well, my mom said--"
Shay: "Oh my gawd Salina, will you stop bringing her up already?" *Emotionally smacks Salina*
Salina: "Why do you hate me?" *angsts in a corner*
Shay: "Well..." *elbows Acacia for help*
Acacia: *seriously uncomfortable* "It's okay. Lets all work hard to become less repulsive people."
Shay: "Agreed."
Salina: "Fine. But I wont like it!" (/ .□.)\ ︵╰(゜Д゜)╯︵ /(.□. \)
end.
Acacia, Salina, and Shay ventured out on to Route 4, taking their time to reach the edge of Santalune City. The view was fantastic, more beautiful than Acacia remembered it being. This time of year, the flowers seemed to be glowing, full of life and providing a safe enviornment for the pokemon who lived there. When they made their way to the large fountain, Acacia ran over to it and reached her hand out to touch the water. Smiling, she turned to the two sisters. "Hey, hey! Lets take a picture together and send it to the Professor!" she suggested excitedly. It was weird how much she missed travelling after being stuck at the lab for quite some time. They had only just started on their way, and she was acting like a little kid wanting to get lost in a big playground.
Shay was suprised when Acacia asked to take a picture, the last time she had taken a picture was back in Hoenn with mom and--, she had to stop herself there, not wanting to go there right now. "Sure, lets do it!!" Shay said, masking her apprehension over it. The entire concept made her kind of sad and wish she was back in Hoenn.
"I'm up for a picture," Said Salina, showing no signs of what had just happened back in the gate. She grabbed Shay's sleeve and pulled her in toward Acacia. She giggled as she pulled out her Holocaster and used it to take a picture of them all standing in front of the fountain. When she had taken a few she opened them and said "Which one should we send?"
Biting her lip, Acacia reached for the girl's Holo Caster and looked through the pictures. "Lets see, lets see..." she paused as she looked through them. Sighing after she saw them all, she shook her head. "No, we cant send these. He's going to say something about my hair in this one, and I looked weird in this one. My cheeks look fat in this one and... in that one my head is tilted too far." she said, pointing to the pictures as she did. Handing Salina her Holo Caster, she would start to fix her hair. "We gotta take some better ones." she mumbled.
"Why do you care so much what the Professor will say? He's only your mentor, right?" Shay asked, feeling a bit nosey. She was starting to think that maybe Acacia was related to the Professor, or that they were dating. She pushed these notions out of her head and listened to Acacia's answer.
At the question, Acacia's hands at her bangs froze. Her face slowly started to turn red and her lips formed into a pout. Crossing her arms, she cleared her throat. "Of course he's just my mentor, dont go thinking anything else!" she said defensively, though she wondered if maybe she didn't sound that convincing. Looking at her feet, she tried to explain. "Its just that... he always notices little things about me and teases me about it." she said. "It's not like I care what he thinks, I'd just rather avoid the frustration."
"That sounds tough," Shay said, still not convinced by Acacia's reasonings. Remembering the anger in Acacia's eyes when Salina had rebelled, Shay decided to drop the subject. "Lets just take a few more." Acacia quickly suggested in order to avoid an embarassing topic. Okay, it was true that she might possibly have the tiniest bit of... some feeling towards Sycamore. It was not that she would ever act upon it though, so often she never dwelled on it. These days she just admired from a distance and pretended to be upset every time he said something regarding her clothes and such. She could never tell if Sycamore paid special attention to her or just had sharp eyes. It was possible, he was a researcher after all. He needed to be able to spot the small stuff.
As Acacia thought about this, she realized her face was just gettting hotter. Shaking her head, she patted her face a few times. "On second thought, lets just keep moving closer to Santalune City. We'll do some training then." Before the two could question her any more, she sped off at a brisk walk down the road.
Shay rushed up behind Acacia, not wanting to get lost. "Is everything all set? You seem to be in a hurry." she looked over at her and continued "You wanna slow down a little?" Blinking, Acacia nodded and slowed down to a stop. Taking a deep breath, she turned on Shay and placed her hands on the girls shoulders. "You can't tell Sycamore I still like him! Swear it on your life!" she said, gently shaking her.
"Okay, okay! I swear!" Shay said, almost scared for her life, "I didnt even know, I mean, I did have an idea, but,"
"Hey! Wait for me!" Salina ran up behind the two. Them taking off had confused her so much she hadn't thought to run after them. Instead she had stood there. When Salina had caught up to the two, Acacia lowered her hands from Shay's shoulders and gave an embarassed smile. "Ah, sorry. I got a little carried away." Looking around, she could see the gate to Santalune in the distance. Nodding she reached to her belt and almost got Azurill's pokeball, instead got the one's for Wigglytuff and Scizor, holding them both in her hamd. "Anyway, let's get started shall we? Both of you pick a pokemon."
Salina reached for Duskull's pokeball and let her out, allowing her to float around her for a bit. Shay grabbed Skitty from the ground behind her and placed her at the base of her legs, allowing Torchic to climb to her shoulder. "What are we doing now?" Salina asked, noticing the pokeballs in Acacia's hand.
"Two things. First being observing how your pokemon fight without commands and second..." she paused. "Well I suppose we'll get to that part afterwards." she said, pressing the center to the balls for her pokemon and releasing them. "First, I want Duskull to attack Wigglytuff and Skitty to attack Scizor." Though she would give a reason for it afterwards, she stepped out of the way, knowing her pokemon already knew what to do.
"Okay! Duskull! Use Ominous Wind on Wigglytuff!" Salina said, her face growing very serious as she spoke.
"Hold on now." Acacia said. Salina's eagerness to battle was a good sign. "The point of this first part is to see how your Duskull would fight on its own if it didn't have your guidance. We let it make its own choices to see how it really fights." she paused, wondering if she should explain it more. "Afterwards, Skitty will do the same and then see how well the two would be able to work along side each other. I know it seems odd since you would think you'll be there to give your pokemon command all the time, but there is a point to it. I promise."
"Okay, then Duskull, attack Wigglytuff, I guess." Salina was suddenly confused with how to innitiate the battle. Duskull floated quickly over to Wigglytuff and used Night Shade as she passed. "Did I do that right?" Salina was confused beyond hope at this point, so much so that her face showed it.
"You did that perfectly. We're all just watching now to see how your pokemon reacts to certain things." Acacia said, nodding to Wigglytuff. The pokemon had allowed the attack to hit her, the move hardly doing any damage. The pink pokemon turned to locate the Duskull as it passed and went to chase after it. Wigglytuff knew better than to actually attack the little pokemon, but kept getting close enough to pressure it into doing something. Each time Wigglytuff got close, Duskull would float upward, just out of the other pokemon's reach.
Looking at Salina, Acacia spoke. "Duskull I believe typically have a high defense and special defense. Put that on top with it being a ghost type, that means you wont have to worry about it taking much damage in a lot of fights. It can be sent out at the front without you worrying. You see how it likes to move out of reach at the last moment? That causes effective distraction for Skitty to come up behind and attack." Calling to Wigglytuff, she would wait until the pokemon came to her side before she looked at Shay. "Skitty's turn."
"Okay Skitty, lets try this, just dont do what you did last time," Shay looked down at Skitty and waited a second while Skitty looked back at her, attempting to process what she was telling her to do. When Skitty finally realized what Shay was saying, she backed up behind Shay's legs and hid there. "Come on Skitty! We're on an adventure, your going to have to battle." Shay looked up and made an embarrased face at Acacia.
"Hmmm." For a moment, Acacia had no idea what to do, but after a few seconds of thinking, a lightbulb went off. "I got it. Shay, go and stand next to Scizor, will you?"
Shay followed Acacia's directions without question, although she was wondering what Acacia's big idea was. When Shay was next to Scizor, Acacia looked down at Skitty. "Okay Scizor, take Shay as your prisoner." she said, winking to Shay as Scizor reached out and took her arm in a loose grip. Shay gasped theatrically, getting what the plan was. Looking down at Skitty, she would say, "Skitty! Shay is going to be taken prisoner unless you listen and fight Scizor!" she would say dramatically.
Skitty looked at Salina and Duskull hoping that they would do something, but when they made no movement Skitty grew worried and after a second or two, angry. She began to rush toward her trainer and Scizor, its head beggining to glow a bright pink. Soon after, Skitty's head connected with Scizor's leg. Smiling, that was exactly what Acacia wanted to see. Skitty was using her advantage in speed to attack head on before Scizor could move. Though the move did little damage, Scizor played it off well, stepping back and releasing Shay's arm. "And it is as simple as that. That was good. Duskull and Skitty could potentially work well together once we practice it a few more times." Clapping her hands together, she smiled even wider. "What do you say you try it out on some wild pokemon now instead of beating up mine?"
"Okay!" Shay began to walk thorugh the yellow flowers nearby, searching for a pokemon. She stumbled upon an Eevee. "Okay, Skitty! Lets try to do this!" Skitty ran up to the Eevee and tackled it, then used sucker punch. After that, the Eevee seemed weak, "Lemme just...." she paused and retrieved a pokeball from her bag, "There!" Shay tossed the pokeball at the Eevee, which then slowly shook 3 times and clicked, confirming that the pokemon was caught.
Seeing her sister catch the Eevee encouraged Salina to catch a pokemon too. She walked into the red flowers on the other side of the Route and after a little bit of searching, found a little Ralts. Duskull used Dark Pulse almost automatically, nearly fainting the Ralts. Salina fished around the inside of her bag until she found one of the balls she had wrongfully taken so many of. Throwing it at the Ralts, she sat on the ground next to it, waiting a whole 10 minutes before it finally clicked, finalizing the capture.
Hours flew by faster than expected, but before they knew it, their pokemon were starting to tire from the constant training in the flowers. Thankfully for Acacia, Shay and Salina were pretty quick to catch on, and didn't need to be watched after the first few minutes. Everyone had stayed close, congratulated each other on captures, and continued training their pokemon. It was all in good fun. Managing to train Azurill a good amount, Acacia decided it was time to give the pokemon a break and returned it to its ball. Stretching herself, she looked around, spotting the two sisters not too far off. Going to where they were, she suggested they head to town to rest and look around.
"Sure, sounds like a plan!" Shay said, confirming her approval of the visit to Santalune City. "I'm game if you two are," Salina said, also approving of the stop. Both of them returned their pokemon to their pokeballs, having had a full day of training.
Acacia nodded and gestured for the two to follow her towards the city. When they reached it, the most notible feature of the place was the giant pokemon fountain that stood in the center of it. Looking around, she thought it would be best to hit up the pokemon center first and buy some supplies while resting. Glancing at the sisters, she wondered something.
"Hey, are you two familiar with the Pokemon Centers?"
"I think there was one back in Dendemille Town, but I don't remember for sure..." Shay said, a thoughtful look crossing her face. Salina looked over at Shay and said "Of cource there was a Pokemon Center. There is one in almost every place in Kalos." Salina looked back at Acacia and said "Why don't we have a tour for the sake of Old Forgetful here," The mini-insult was pointed at Shay, refering to her short memory. She didn't mean it in a mean way but more in a teasing way.
Giggling at the slight bickering, Acacia turned towards them and stopped walking. "So, how about a race?" she suggested. "Last person to the center buys us all food!" Quickly turning, she made a mad dash towards the big red building.
"B-But I'm broke!" Salina called out, rushing behind Acacia, Shay just beside her, fighting for second so she wouldn't have to pay. Shay cut in front of Salina, giggling, forcing her to suddenly slow down. Acacia didn't pay any mind to the two as she dodged past a few people and pokemon who were casually walking the streets of the city. When she got to the center, the double doors slid open for her and she stepped inside, shouting "SAFE!" when she did. Shay came up fast behind Acacia but was cut off at the doors by Salina, who had cut between a few buildings after Shay had slowed her down. As she stepped in, she nearly tackled Acacia, stopping mere inches from colliding with the older girl. Shay stepped in seconds later sighing and pulling out the spare cash she had and asking, "Is this enough?" 1200 poke sitting in the palm of her hand.
"Nahh, I want the most expensive thing here," Salina teased.
"Same." Acacia agreed, raising her hand to high five Salina. Salina lifted her hand and smacked it into Acacia's, producing a loud clapping sound. Sticking her tongue out at Shay, Acacia would then walk up to the nurse who was sitting at the counter. Unclipping only the pokeball of Azurill, she would hand it to the nurse who gladly took it to the machine that was behind her. She exchanged a few words with the woman before her pokemon was returned and she would wait for the others to do the same. The girls repeated Acacia's actions, handing the pokemon they had trained to the nurse, who gladly took their pokemon and healed them. The three then decided it was time for some food and then probably a nap. Beauty sleep was important, afterall.
Carl laughed, it was indeed an interesting sight. After they each laughed it off Carl turned his attention back to the boy called Korrigan.
"Korrigan, it was nice to meet you Korrigan. It was nice to meet you too, Norman." he said now turning to the trainer with the Squirtle.
"Well, I was planning on heading out. I was gonna go to route 5 to train up my Pokemon for the Santalune Gym. You guys are welcome to come." He said turning to look at both of them. He hoped his new acquaintances would accept his offer.
Norman tilted his head from side to side in consideration, taking a good while to decide. When he did, he tentatively nodded. "I'll tag along, yes. Never fussed about training Pokemon for battle before but it might come in handy."
A shrug. The Pokeball by his belt rattled ominously as if the Squirtle was not entirely happy being contained. "Might do some good for this little guy too." Litwick, of course, didn't need it, but she definitely loved being the strongest. If the water Pokemon ever grew more powerful than she was, there would be tears.
Korrigan noticed Norman's guarded gaze in his direction, though he chose not to comment on it. During his travels to Lumiose, he'd received more than his fair shares of stares whether he was wearing his robes or not. Most people couldn't help but feel intimidated by his eyes, which was something he could never understand. His eyes were a result of a special, if slightly painful ritual. It was something that was earned once an initiate proved himself capable of being a full-fledged priest, and Korrigan was the youngest to ever receive the honor, and thus he took great pride in them.
"I'd be honored, as I had little idea of where to go myself after coming here. Besides, you and your pokemon seem like interesting travelling companions." Korrigan said with a grin, he reached up to give both Jet and Fidget a scratch behind the ears, lightening the Froakie's mood slightly and causing the Noibat to let a excitable screech which would probable cause a bit of a headache for those who could hear it, Korrigan included. Gripping his head, he looked up at the hyperactive Dragon pokemon with a sigh. "Hopefully that doesn't become a habit." Jet and Regina had both fallen to the floor gripping their heads, with Jet calling out a lot in Fidget's direction. It didn't take much to figure out the words were less than kind, as the Noibat sank down into his hood, looking rather disheartened.
"Jet, be nice to Fidget please, he didn't know any better. Remember, in order to solve problems, you must understand the root of them. Fidget isn't used to controling his volume yet, so we have to be understanding and give him time to learn." As he spoke he reached into his hood to bring out the rascal in question, rubbing his head slighly before setti g him back on his perch. "No need to feel ashamed, Fidget, everyone makes mistakes, it's how we learn."
Jet didn't seem very interested in forgiving Fidget, giving the Dragon a mean look at every opprotunity, while Regina looked at him and shook her head, obviously not approving of his behavior. This small argument was soon interrupted, however, as the other trainer's pokemon came over to investigate the newcomers. Jet ignored the Piplup, giving them a rather bored look as they came close while Fidget, already over his embarrassment, swooped down onto the Gible, eager to play with his new friend. Regina was having none of any of it, staying behind her trainer and keeping an eye on the two other humans, not trusting them in the slightest.
"Great!" Carl was obviously happy that he had new travel companions, and so was Piplup and Gible. Piplup walked over to the other water type, and Gible to the other dragon. Carl smiled. He was happy that his Pokemon were making friends as well.
After the Pokemon were done meeting each other, Carl continued, "Well, the gate to route 5 isn't far from here. We could go now, or if you want to do something before we go, that's fine with me." Carl had a bright smile on his face, eager to get going, but he would gladly wait if his new friends wanted to do something else first.
Joshua was already at the Pokémon Center, relaxing in the food court with his Pokémon. He had been out training today, preparing to battle the local gym leader tomorrow. He had no expectations of winning however. He knew the Gym Leader was going to be tough and like have strategies to counter any Pokémon theirs might be weak to. He had heard the on in town used Bug-types so he knew Murkrow was his best chance, but he also wasn't going to assume Kurkrow would win him the entire thing. The battle hinged on more then one Pokémon after all. Glancing over at his team, he watched them as they ate. Murkrow might be his trump card, but he saw the other two as close contenders. Froakie was fast and had good reflexes. Plus his frubbles could be useful in trapping an opponent. Pawniard had a neutral resistance to bug types but he would take a few hits and return them as well. Plus, anything that tried to weaken him only made him hit harder.
Glancing around, he saw a few new face's in the food court. A group of girls entered but he paid no mind to them, returning to his own food. He would've continued this to do so, had he no noticed Murkrow fly away as the girls' food arrived. Cursing, he watched to make sure his hunch was right. Sure enough, the Darkness Pokémon swooped down onto the table and glanced at the girl's dishes, as if deciding which one it wanted more. It didn't get a chance, as a red beam of light hit it, causing it to return to it's pokeball in Joshua's hand. Sighing, he got up and walked over to the girl's table, scratching the back of his head. "Sorry 'bout that. The bugger has a habit of trying to nick food from others. Did she happen to actually get any from you ladies?" He said, examining each of them. They all seemed around his age and he wouldn't deny that each of them was attractive in their own way. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered coming over to them, but if Murkrow had taken any food, he figured it was best to pay them back, less he incur their wrath and have to waste time in an argument.
[Collab between myself and @Loony. In which Diego and Placide climb a tree and look at the Venipedes]
Smiling and chuckling softly at the exchange between Diego and Bliss, Placide gave a wave a took off, not bothering to say 'thank you' or anything along those lines. She headed over to a crate of, well, whatever the weird electronics, or 'techno-junk' as she referred to it as, and with quite the puzzled expression, picked them up and held them close to her face, examining them as if they're A few steps forward, she stopped and began to laugh.
Idiot, bug Pokémon. Where are you going?
"Hey, wait, we're staying with you!" Placide called while running up to Diego again,"Bug Pokémon, you know? Cute little critters they are. Since we're both looking for them, might as well stick together. Besides, I have no idea what these things are," she continued, holding up the Holocaster, the only item she had yet to stuff into her bag, "Or how to make them work. Or what they're suppose to do. You're going to help me."
Bliss had just started jumping excitedly pointing at the foot of a tree when suddenly Placide was back. "Uh... yeah sure. I just figured out myself but it's not much more complicated than a Pokegear or something." Diego didn't know quite what to make of the girl's forwardness. It was odd, especially for him. Due to his height, it was rare anybody just imposed on him. Even then, she wasn't rude. Jut matter-of-fact. There was something to respect in that.
"Bugs come first though," he said with a wink. "Now my Aipom found these guys so I get first pick... whatever they are." He gestured to Bliss who was pointing at the tree with her tail.
"A Pokégear sounds pretty complicated to me. Though that's I lived on a berry farm for twenty two years, so I can't say I understand any techno-junk more complicated than a phone. Hopeless, I am. But of course, bugs come first." Placide stuffed the Holocaster into her bag along, ridding her hands of the 'techno-junk', and slung it over her shoulders, joining Diego by the tree Bliss had been pointing at.
"Venipedes. They're Venipedes. Rarely had them at the farm, but I remember it well. Aggressive little things. Just a single bite from paralyzed my parents' Talonflame, Incendie. And Incendie didn't even do anything to it yet. It just saw it and attacked." One would probably expect her voice to sound disdainful, but no. It was filled with awe, even pride, for the little critters. A goofy grin spead on her face.
"Or maybe it just freaked out after hearing my mom scream when she saw the thing. Don't understand why. I think they're pretty cute."
Dropping her bag to the floor, Placide took hold of the lowest branch and with strength quite surprising for someone as short and stocky as she was, hoisted herself up, dragging one leg over the other until she was now sitting on the branch, looking down at Diego.
"Well? You coming?" She asked, already beginning to stand up and hoist herself over another branch, this one occupied by a Venipede at the farther end, where the branch was too thin to support her weight. It was a rather runty little thing, small but on the defensive. It observed Placide warily, ready to strike if provoked, it seemed.
Diego smirked. "Venipedes, huh? Just the name sounds like something to run away from. I like it." Placide's sudden climb definitely caught him off guard. It made him laugh how quick she was to climb a tree crawling with aggressive little poisonous Pokemon. But, of course that was the way to do it. Grabbing hold of a limb just above himself, he joined her in the tree.
Bliss grinned and jumped up further and began climbing on her own, always happy to get to play in a tree. "All right so what have we got here." From a branch above Placide he looked down at the little centipede Pokemon. She had a point. It was cute in its own way. But "cute" was never what had attracted him to bugs. He was curious. What would it do? He looked further up the tree. There were one or two crawling farther up into the tree, apparently either scared off or just uninterested. That just wouldn't do. "Is that the one you want? I'm gonna look around a bit more. It's just sitting there." He looked at the runt. "No offense buddy."
"Well, I'm not running away from one, and hopefully I can teach others to do the same. They might be poisonous, but there's many other Pokémon equally so, even more so, which people aren't quite as afraid of. " With this said, Placide began to make her way higher into the tree, leaving the runt behind but glancing at it every now and then.
"I dunno. It's the closest one, that's the only reason I checked it out first. Still haven't seen the others, you know. Might come back for it, though. It's looks as runty as me on the outside, but I bet you she's not quite like that on the inside. I think we'd make a good team." Placide said simply, beginning to climb even higher to take a better look at the Venipedes. Her eyes was fixed on an oddly coloured and shiny looking one, but her gaze quickly left it and she continued to search.
"Any of them caught your eye, mate?"
From up above he heard Bliss's joyful cries. A few seconds later two apples fell from above. One bounced off Diego's head and fell to the ground, rolling some distance from the tree. The second landed right in the crook of the limb below and one of its branches. Rubbing his head, Diego grumbled and began climbing higher. The rustling up above continued. What was Bliss up to up there? She couldn't be having that much fun running around in the tree. No, she was likely trying to flush out the rest of the Pokemon. "And I'm gonna have to come save her when she inevitably gets bitten," he muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes. Really though, she was likely too agile for most of the Venipede. He had, after all, trained her very well in swiftness and agility.
As he was peering into a knothole (from a good distance away of course), his foot suddenly slipped. He managed to catch himself and steady again. But in that moment he looked down and noticed something. A rather big Venipede had emerged from somewhere to claim the berry as its own. And who should happen to be trying to take it but the runt. "Well would you look at that," he said. He then called to Placide, "Hey, your little friend seems to have some spirit after all."
I have gotten permission from @McHaggis and @Raijinslayer for the upcoming character actions.
They go to route five. Carl battles Furfrou
"No, I have everything I need."
Norman just shrugged.
"Alright then! Let's get going!"
The walk through the city was peaceful. There was an aroma of pastries, and coffee. Carl looked up and saw prism tower. The gate to route five was just a little further ahead. He could see the light coming from the gate. After they walked through, they were surrounded by purple flowers, and yellow ones.
"Well guys, I'm gonna go this way."
The route was peaceful. Fletchlings chirping, and the aroma of Lumiose still lingering. There was a rustling in the tall grass next to him. A Furfrou jumped out and pounced on him. It growled with anger at Carl for entering its territory.
"Oof! Hey!" The Pokemon looked strong, so instead of sending out his newly befriended Gible, he used his Piplup.
"Alright! Go Piplup! He threw the Pokemon and out came the blue penguin. Piplup looked around in confusion, then noticed the snarling Furfrou. Piplup glared at it, ready to battle.
Fighting for Carl and Piplup was all about strategy. And their's was to be resourceful. Carl spotted a couple of nearby trees.
"Piplup, jump off those trees and use peck! Don't let it know which one your coming from. Piplup jumped with great speed to each tree, coming back to one it had already jumped to, in order to confuse the ravaging Pokemon, then finally came in with the peck, knocking it to the ground. The fact that the Pokemon was furiously jumping around, it had no idea when, or where the Piplup was going to attack. The Furfrou reared up for a tackle.
"Piplup, slide , and use bubble!"
Piplup preformed this perfectly, and the bubble caused the Furfrou to wince in pain. The Furfrou charged up for a bite. Piplup dodged it on its own, and rammed into its side with a peck. The Furfrou wobbled, trying to regain, its stance, but fell to the ground.
"I think it's a bit too soon to celebrate, Carl, we seem to have some company." While Carl had been focused on his battle, Korrigan and Norman would br able to notice a bunch more Furfrou's stepping out of the grass with rather angry expressions. Including the one that Carl just beat, there were 15 of them, and with a harsh growl as their only warning, 4 of them charged at Carl, 5 of them on Korrigan, and another 5 were going after Norman.
Lv: 10
Ability: Furcoat-halves all Physical attack damage
Moveset: Tackle-Growl-Sand Attack-Baby-doll Eyes
Strategy: Try to blind with Sand Attack before pummeling their opponent with Tackle.
Korrey quickly backed out of the way while his pokemon took the offensive. "Jet, block them off with Bubble, Fidget, use Supersonic to sow discord among them. Regina, use work-up, then hit anyone who comes in with Arm Thrust." Jet, being the one who had been with Korrey the longest, followed the order without hesitation, blowing out a field of bubbles into the pack's path, slowu g them down and dealing some damage to all of them due to how clustered togethet they were, tho7gh not as much as if it was all focused on single opponent. Fidget also followed his command easily enough, launching a few Supersonics into the pack, which caused two of them to trip over their own feet.
Regina, however, ignored her trainer's commands, rushing into battle with a Leer at the lead dog to lower defense, before charging up for an Arm Thrust. However, before she could finish the action, 3 of the Furfrou launched a barrage of Sand Attacks at her, blinding the small panda pokemon and causing her to wildly miss with her attack. This left her open for an attack from the two confused opponents, though only one hit, sending Regina flying backwards. The other ran into a tree, hard, doing a bit of damage to itself as a result.
"Regina!" Korrey cried, rushing forward to catch her before she landed on the floor. This, however, left him open to attacks by the other 3 Furfrou, who all seemed ready to charge at him. Luckily, Fidget and Jet came in to launch a diversionary assault on Furfrou's with Pound and Tackle, knocking the two on the sides into the one in the middle. While Jet was able to do some damahe to his target, thanks to his ability turning him into a normal type, causing his pound attack to do Stab Damage(which is shown by him changing color from light teal(?) to a light grey), Fidget's looked hardly bothered by the bat-like pokemon's attack. It did, however, buy Korrey enough time to get out of the way, leaving the two to fend for themselves while he worked on clearing up Regina's eyes.
Jet, not one to keep his foes waiting, launched another barrage of bubbles to hold the horde back while Fidget took to the air and rained down some Screech attacks, causing an intense ringing sound in the ears of the pack that made it hard for them to focus, lessening their attack. The bubbles wouldn't hold them back forever though, and Jet and Fidget couldn't handle these guy's by themselves, there were just too many. Korrey tried his best to help Regina, but she kept fighting him every step of the way, making the process a lot harder than it needs to be.
@McHaggisYou've got a Furfrou Horde ciming at you.
@AbysmalDemonAs do you, though it's only about 4 since you already attacked one.
((OOC:If you guys don't like the scenario, I can change it so that you have less or weaker enemies to fight.))
@joshua tamashii Shay looked up at the guy who had approached their table, he looked to be a few years older than her and was about her height. Shay sprung out of her seat, "Hiya, my names Shaylin, but you can call me Shay! What's yours?" Shay extended her arm, then suddenly looked embarrased, "Oh, you were only asking about the food, yeah, its all here," Sitting down as she said this, Shay felt bad for pouncing on the guy when all he wanted to do was check on their food. "Sorry, today we had a long day of training, I'm a little out of it." Shay smiled up at the boy, hoping he didn't mind her energy. The training had taken a lot out of her, and meeting 2 new partners in one day was exciting.
Carl sighed as he saw the other four emerge from the bushes, scowling and snarling, hurling spit out as they did. It was quite an ugly site, but a strong one as well. Piplup was out and so he took his other Pokeball, and in a flash of red light Gible appeared, ready to fight. Carl laughed,
"Well you sure are... Enthusiastic! Well, that's what we're gonna need right now!"
He looked over at Norman who was getting sand attacked. He thought that this horde might know the same moves.
"Piplup, send out an array of bubbles to block their site of Gible! Alright, Gible, go in with a Dragon Claw!"
The method worked perfectly, while the were clouded in bubbles, Gible charged in with the Dragon Claw, and slashed with an uppercut under it's chin. But sadly that wasn't just enough to make it faint. Now Gible was surrounded, using its Dragon Claw, to keep them away. But he still had Piplup.
"Piplup, use Quick Attack to break them away from each other! Gible, keep swinging that claw!"
Piplup's attack broke them up well, and it was two on Piplup, two on Gible, but Gible had already lowered one's HP down significantly. The Furfrou's sand attack worked well on Piplup, but Gible was a ground type, and he was used to it. Piplup's accuracy was down, and that wasn't good. But Gible already knew what to do. He used a Rollout around Piplup.
Rollout. How does a Gible know rollout?!
When the Furfrou realized that the sand attacks wouldn't work because of the shield Gible was providing, they went on the offensive. They all barraged with a tackle. Because they all attacked at once, they stopped the rollout, but each got hurt by Gibles Rough Skin ability, but sadly, because of their thick fur, it didn't do as much as Gible hoped.
"Alright! Gible, use rollout, and Piplup get on top of Gible and use bubble!"
It was quite fun seeing a Piplup using bubble on top of a rollouting Gible. Gible also smashed into a couple Furfrou on the way, causing more damage to the horde. Two has fainted, and now there were two left.
Piplup, use a quick attack, and use a peck, to actually do the damage. Gible, dragon claw!
Piplup charged in with a quick attack, gaining speed, and then, caught one in the neck with a peck. Gible had now proceeded to rage, and, well, it wasn't just a rage. It was a... Dragon Rage!
Piplup, come back! Piplup was then sent back to it's Pokeball, for safety. The rest of Norman's Furfrou were attracted to the blue light Gible was emitting. Until it became more furious and they realized it was a trap. But it was to late for them, Gible exploded with a bright blue light and four Furfrou, (two being Norman's opponent) fainted.
Carl, Piplup, and Gible sat back against a tree, exhausted from the battle. He took out two pokepuffs for each of them, as they sat under the shade of a tree, and Carl fixed up their wounds with the two potions he had on him.
Collaboration between Cherise (c3p-0h), Kasha (YoshiSkittlez) and Ren's Abra (GrandzHelios)
"Vee?"
"Hmm?" Kasha turned her head to look down at the silver Pokemon on her shoulder, confused at the Eevee's sudden noise though it didn't sound as though he was trying to get her attention. Instead, the Pokemon seemed rather confused as he looked around its person, quickly to the left, right, up, down; searching for something. "Hey, everything alright? You look like you dropped something." Kasha paused, "Have you been sneaking Pokepuffs again?" she asked, a slight twinge of reprimand in her voice.
Eevee looked back to his trainer, shaking his head no frantically.
"Vee! Eevee Eevee Vee Vee!" The Pokemon sat up, his paws reaching up towards his head, trying to tell Kasha something but she was unable to pick up on what, exactly.
"Uh... you want... a hat? Kasha tried, pressing her lips into a firm line as she tried to think on what the Pokemon was trying to tell her.
Cerise, meanwhile, was looking down at her berry-stained arms in disgust. Little blue footprints dotted her skin. She swore, if that dumb gecko had stained her clothes too… Huffing, she repositioned her bag on her shoulder, careful to keep Iris steady in her other arm.
"You're definitely the favorite," she murmured to the little Gothita. Iris stared up at her in response. She began walking across the field back towards the lab when a thought stopped her in her tracks: She hadn't put Iris in a Pokeball yet. Which meant that lizard thing was technically her starter. Cerise groaned and hung her head.
"Nope," she announced, "absolutely not." Marching back to the tree, Cerise plopped herself down and rummaged through her bag for an empty Pokeball. She pulled one out and held it up in front of Iris' face. The pokemon stared at the odd red ball for a moment, before focusing back on Cerise. "This'll just be real quick," she cooed in a gentle voice. "A flash and then it's over, kay? Won't hurt a bit." At least, it wasn't supposed to hurt. Cerise had never been in a Pokeball before. How was she supposed to know?
The Gothita disappeared in a flash of red. The Pokeball shook for a few moments and then fell still. Smiling, Cerise pushed the center button again, and Iris reappeared in the girl's lap.
"See? Easy."
Abra continued to sit on Eevee's back while Kasha lived in the dark about his presence. Abra teleported away and reappeared with a shiny gem. The yellow Pokemon held it out in front of the silver Pokemon but at an angle away from Kasha's attention. Then the psychic Pokemon threw the shiny object at a nearby young girl.
Cerise jumped when something sparkly landed at her side.
"What…?" She leaned in a little closer, inspecting the random gem.
"Vee! Eevee Eevee Vee Vee Vee!" Kasha wasn't expecting the shiny Eevee to jump from her shoulder straight to the grass below them. Granted, Kasha wasn't exactly the tallest person in the world, but the distance was quite the jump for the small Pokemon but he seemed unperturbed as his paws hit the grass and not half a second later was darting away in the opposite direction they had been walking having spotted the shiny gem being thrown.
"Eevee?" For a second, Kasha didn't even know what had happened, but after a few moments, she managed to catch the tail-end glimpse of a small, yellowish Pokemon riding on the back of Eevee and suddenly everything made sense. Bringing up her hand to cover her mouth, stifling a small giggle, Kasha adjusted the grip she had on the backpack strap across her shoulder and quickly moved to catch up with her Pokemon.
Cerise was taken by surprise when a silver Eevee burst into her line of vision (…was that an Abra on its back?), giving a small 'eep'. It seemed the Pokemon was more interested in the little gem than it was in her, though. Iris watched the scene, impassive.
The yellow Pokemon rode on the silver Eevee's back as it charged at Cerise. Abra looked mildly amused but it could have a bit more fun. It stared at the gem rubbing its palms together in a devious manner.
Eevee held no attention for the dark-skinned girl or the Gothita in her lap. Instead, he approached the gem cautiously, pawing at it from as far of a distance as he could, curious as to it's nature and where it had come from. He knew something was off, but the young Pokemon still wasn't able to piece together what it was that was bugging him. Therefore, the mysterious gem had to be the culprit.
"Vee?"
Getting a little braver, Eevee approached the gem closer, spotting his own distorted reflection on it's surface and tilted his head curiously. He sniffed it, pawed at it again, and when it didn't do anything, he sat back on his haunches, head tilting to the other side completely confused before looking up at Cerise, as though he were expecting her to have the answer.
"Vee! Eevee Eev?"
Cerise and Iris shared a look.
"Uhh…hi?"
Catching up to the small cluster of confusion, Kasha slowed her steps and stooped down onto one knee next to her Eevee and patted him on the back of the head a few times for reassurance.
"I see you've made some friends." Kasha said to Eevee, moving her hand down and used them both to pick up the small Abra up and away from Eevee, holding him up underneath his armpits and gave him a quick look over. She had never seen an Abra up this close before. If she didn't know any better, she would say that he was sleeping. "You're quite the mischievous one, little guy." Kasha told Abra, though not at all in a negative way. In fact, she let out a soft chuckle though it was quickly drowned out as she finally realized that she wasn't entirely alone with Pokemon. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you there..." Kasha said, spotting Cerise and then turned the Pokemon around in her hands so that he was facing the girl opposite her. "Is this your Abra?"
Random food collecting could lead to random battling who knows... All this and more on route 4.
Sam was leading the trio onto route 4. It was getting dark though. He turned to the others. "It is getting dark, so we could either rush to Santalune CIty, or we could set up camp here and spend the night among the pokemon."
" I say we should stay the night in the woods." Albert responded
Ryi sighed out, all this walking and that battle earlier tired him out, he stretch his arms and noticed big log and sat down on it. “Sure! I am beat, also hungry that for sure right Remma?” beaitufly flew around the area and landed on his head agreeing on it. “Beau.” Ryi smiled as he pulled out form his back were a tin of cookies he and for the trip incase he got hungry. They were sweet with a hint of vanilla…yummy as ever.
Deino was sniffing around the bush's, then it noticed the wafting smell of vanilla, flowing through the air like a divine gift from arceus. its head was arching towards the scent, and like some sort of predatorial instinct it slowly began its stalking of the smell. moving slowly and surely it was about to leap and- "hey Deino come on over" Albert said with a grin as he whistled for Deino to come join him, Deino happily obliged. "Now then guy's what sort of supplies do we have on hand?"
Sam got his backpack, and got a small cube out of it. He threw it on the ground, then picked up Froakie from his hand. "Froakie, can you use Bubble on the cube?" "Froakie!" He said while jumping out of Sam's arms and using Bubble on the cube. The cube then started to inflate, reacting with the water, and before they knew it, it was a small tent. "Well, this is my 'room' for the night. You better get yours set up before we make the preperations for dinner."
As he looked at the cube thing Ryi was a bit confused, he never seen such a thing before and once Sam’s Froakie used bubble on it he was more amazed than ever. It grew into a tent! He didn’t have anything like that he just have well…not much really. He had a sleeping back really, some cooking stuff on his other bag and some important stuff like soap and lotion but not a tent like that…how does it fit back in? “….whoa uuhh I don’t have a tent but I do have this…” He pulled out a rolled u sleeping bag form his backpack and set it down on the grass area. Suddenly Puff comes out of his pokeball and stated to eat the cookie he had form the tin by himself. “Puff!! You’re going to be chubby like a Snorlax if this keeps up!” He giggled as he sat back down the log and patted Puff while Remma lowered her wings tired.
That cube thing surprised Albert, he wasn't expecting a fully fledge tent to come out of that cube, Albert hadn't packed a tent, or a sleeping bag. he had packed rations a flask of water. some tennis ball's, and a change of clothe's, thats all that would really fit inside his satchel if he wanted space for other things like pokeballs, potions and the like but the ground was relatively soft, so he could just sleep on the floor but he didn't want to sleep. "guys i guess ill go get some stuff around to make a relatively nice sleeping area" Albert said trying to make a excuse for him leaving, and yet his stomach growled, as did Deino's. "On second thought's ill stay right here, what are we having?" Albert asked
Sam looked dissapointed in his backpack. "I don't have much food. I'm used to finding food around me, but I always bring a can of beans with me in case I cant find anything. I'm more of the simple food, if you get what I mean." He then looked at Ryi. "How about you? You seem to have a lot of different food with you."
Ryi got his supply backpack and saw what food he had, mostly sweet stuff really, jam and sugar, honey even but he had enough stuff at least to make something decent. Once more he looked and notice he would make some strew at least. “I think I can make some stew for us that is right though tomorrow when we reach town I have to buy new stuff as well…hhhmmm…” he looked at Remma above and poked her lightly. “Hey remma Can you find me some mushrooms? Oh also you Puff since you got a great smelling sense?” He asked his pokemon to help him make the stew. He pulled out some small stuff like a little stove and some cooking oil, he love cooking and baking soo luckily he was prepared at least.
"Sound's like a treat" Albert said as he saw the cooking equipment be prepared. "Do you need me to go get anything?" Albert asked bored. "perhaps me and Deino could also help you find some berries?" Albert said and Deino chimed in "Deino-Dei-Deino" Both of them looked like it was some sort of epic quest the way they were posed.
He turned to Albert and clapped his hands together, he was glad to have all the help he would get really. He never cooked outside the kitchen before so this was a whole new experience for him. “Thanks! That be great! With what I have I can even try making some dessert….maybe some candid berries? Ya that sounds really good thank again Albert and Deino.” He patted Deino head gently and went back to the mini stove and started it up.
Deino was slightly startled by the foreign touch but shook it off, as he turned around to follow Alberts footsteps "All right Deino lets go find some berrie's" Albert said with a light hearted cheer as he speed off to explore route 4, and get berrie's and maybe fight and train. Albert's satchel shuddered a ton as he was running.
"How about us?" Sam asked. He could maybe get some high growing berries. He was pretty good in climbing, and Froakie was as well.
Then he turned to Sam and thought about it for a while. “Oh I think maybe some mushroom or berries that is just fine” He pulled out some ingredients such as salt, some tomatoes, soy sauce, beef jerky…the regular cooking stuff. Remma flew back with a brown mushroom, it looked okay…not poisonous at all by the looks of it. “ah thanks Remma!”
Sure it was him alone in route 4, but Albert was steadfast he had his Deino after all , and yet the hunger would kill him, "berries thats all we need Berries" Albert murmured to himself spotting some in the clearing before him, his eyes lighting up with glee, it was a whole plathora of Pecha berrie's, he ran forwards to grab a handful, unbeknownst to the eyes in the tree.
"Okay then, mushrooms or berries it is." Sam responded, before heading out with Froakie and Honedge. He headed up the river, searching for anything on his path that would look edible.
Ren looked furiously for his lost pokemon. It was beginning to disturb him that he no idea where his friend had gone off to. This was a friend that had stuck with him through thick and thin. A buddy that he hatched from his very first pokemon egg. It pained him if any of his pokemon were in pain but Abra was almost like a child he had raised himself. If Ren knew one thing it was that he would not stop until he located his Abra.
"Braaaa." A yellow pokemon appeared out of nowhere on Ren's shoulder. "There you are. I was worried about you. What have you been up to?" Ren badgered at his pokemon. Then the creature gave a point to the right.
One Hour Later This day was getting crazier and crazier. After Ren went to investigate he ran right back into that Cerise girl who he met earlier that day. Her and another person, Kasha, were pretty confused about a gem that appeared out of seemingly nowhere. Then there was a silver Eevee running this way in that in small circles around it's owner trying to locate the missing Abra that had been in his owner's hands not seconds ago. Both girls were very confused as to what was going on. Honestly it was one of the most humorous things Ren had seen all day but that was probably only because this was the first time Abra had gotten out of his sight today. Sadly his pokemon did things like this every moment it breathed.
After clearing up the confusion, explaining that Abra belonged to him and how the Pokemon got away from him (and Kasha scanning Abra with the Pokedex, learning how it was a jewel thief), Ren was about to leave when he got an idea. Again he asked to form a goup with him so it would be more fun to travel throughout Kalos. That and he didn't really grab a map before everything closed down since he had spent most of his time trying to locate Abra. Cerise seemed skeptical, but after Ren somehow managed to beat her Treecko with a Magikarp, she kept her mouth shut. Kasha on the other hand, was absolutely delighted. It was her chance to both make friends and explore Kalos, and accepted the offer right away.
Now here he was walking along the path with a Magikarp in hand (literally, or in a Pokeball?). They had finally made their way to Route 4. Ren had no idea what was in store for their little group but it could not be worse than what he had seen so far. After all it was just another region to conquer, right?
