Point of Departure: World War II

>>I'm also looking for a co-gm, preferably one with a decent handle on WWII.<<

The date is December 8th, 1941. With the entry of the United States, World War II is in full swing.

Which is when an alien society of omnipotent space bats in the far future screw with dimensions in the multiverse, and pull in some guests.

Play as either a real-life leader of a real-life country; a strange alternate dimension country that could have been; or a single ship, stranded from its home universe. No magic, and keep tech at a near-WWII equivalent. Pull from books! Pull from timelines on alternatehistory.com! Go a little crazy! Be very sane!

Combat would be decided through rational roleplay. "Rational", as in, no single tank will destroy an entire army.

Any nations not claimed by someone are NPC's (...NPN's?), and their actions are controlled by everyone - if you need the NPC to react, put it in your post, and then it's canon.

Any nations that would be carved out of another, already established, person's territory should be cleared by said other player.

|Sheets:
Wherein "Allegiance" is either Axis or Allied.

Interest? Questions?

May be interested in taking up Rommel's Afrika Korps, as a sort of "client state" to Germany, if that would be possible?

Yay! Interest! <3

Oooh, go for it, Thang. I like the idea. If you're going off of our timeline, Rommel just pulled out of Tobruk, I believe.

That's correct.

I'll need to brush up on my knowledge, but the core stuff is there.

I need a Germany who is willing to give me lots and lots of tanks. And fuel. And also to back a plan that involves going after some oil fields in the Middle East. Forget Russia; it's a bad idea. Just withdraw, tell Stalin it was a big misunderstanding, he'll understand.

Also, if Italy doesn't want to be so bloomin' hapless this time around, that'd be great.

Thanks for accepting my idea; I'll begin work pronto. :D

I'm open to the idea.*

I'll start working on a proper OOC, since interest is accumulating (haha, finance puns).

*Please no Draka-wank. I feel like 1940's Domination of Draka would utterly destroy everything else.

Oh no, nothing like that, i was thinking more along the lines of a South Africa using the war to get their independence from Great Britain and trying to get support from Germany and Italy in aiding them, along with being a general distraction and problem to the British

So, we can actually make new but plausible nations, right?
How about the Carpathian Federation?

It'd either born after 1849 when the various revolutions in the Austrian Empire succeeds.
Or it'd be formed after WW1. The allies realize that the League of Nations is a bad idea and instead they promote a federal system and actively ban the Habsburgs or any royal figure from interfering with it. Potentially this would mean that the friction between various nationalities would be less otherwise there's no way it could work.

Also I can understand that you wish to start this game when USA is involved, too.
But that'd practically prohibit people from exploring plots from earlier times.
For example my Carpathian Federation would most likely interfere during the Polish Invasion already.

Question I'm a bit confused so some parts of our timeline mixed in with parts of another time. So basically two dimensions mixed together. Also I'd be fine with soviet Russia or germany.

Just some random questions:
- Are we allowed to pull in nations from other NRP's we've been in?
- Instead of playing as a ship, can we play as a single person or fleet/fighter wing/army platoon?

On another note, nice seeing you again Raid :D

I might be interested. Not sure if I've got the time, but if I do, I might go for Imperial Japan.

Sounds fine. And it wouldn't, actually; the idea being that your nation would be ISOT'd (er, "magically" and instantaneously transported) from its home universe to this one, plopped down in the same relative location. God knows what happens to the poor innocent nations that used to be there.

I would like to partake in this RP! As the former this Submarine!

Ooh, what is that, a Type... X? IX? Drat, I used to know this stuff.

Question I'm a bit confused so some parts of our timeline mixed in with parts of another time. So basically two dimensions mixed together. Also I'd be fine with soviet Russia or germany.

Yes, essentially. Take our world in 1941 as the base canvas, then swap out nations, ships, etc. with ones from alternate dimensions. It's kind-of a little bit like Eric Flint's Grantville series (if you've heard of it), minus the time travel.

Just some random questions:
- Are we allowed to pull in nations from other NRP's we've been in?

Hello, Clock!
-Yes. Edit it, though, to make it fit this RP. Make sure the technology level is WWII. It's preferable if your nation is in their own version of WWII, as well.
-I don't think a single person would work - there's not going to be many other single people for them to interact with. I'm okay with fighter wings and platoons. Maybe fleets, too. But you shouldn't be able to influence events to the same degree as nations with one fleet/wing/platoon.

@Queen RaidneWould this be a suitable nation then?

They're basically an puesdo-Japan I made for another RP. I was thinking of having them either be between China and Japan or Japan and Hawaii/America so ignore the location map thingy in the hider.

If I do the platoon/fleet/ect route, I'll still be using this as a base "world"

@ClocktowerEchos Briefly (briefly) glancing at it, I've got a problem with the Sakurite. If it's not an element that can be found on (our) Earth, I don't like it. Other than that, I'm okay with the concept. But I haven't really analyzed it much - especially the military section.

We have an OOC!

@Queen RaidneIf we are at it, how do you feel with slightly fantasy WW2 nations?
I always wished to test my elves from Yllendthyr in an actual WW2 scene.
1941 where they fit just fine.
Aside from being elves the only "magical" elements are Mithril (basically the mix of the properties of Aluminium and Titanium and replaces steel products for Yllendthyr as a whole) and Kavuria (which may not be a concern because I got that via trade with Avalia so I'd need to resort to hydrogen and helium instead).
There's no magic involved whatsoever, just a race which developed differently and material which could be plausible (Mithril is actually worse than most steel alloys)
