@Willy Vereb, I was hoping to have a constructive conversation about your elves culture and mindset regarding humanity.

With my question unanswered, is this intentionally dodged due to our conversation regarding the elves earlier?

Just noticed, no axis powers!!

I'm rolling as the Afrika Korps, but without a Germany to attach myself to, there'd be little point. I'd just be an island of awesomeness located in Africa, and without a player (Germany) to specifically give me men and material, little will change from the real world's time line.

Therefore, I guess it's going to HAVE to be me, isn't it?

I'm going to have to play as Hitler.

Expect an application for Nazi Germany today, or I may do the Pact of Steel, and include both Italy and Germany under my sphere of control.

Whatever happens, there will be at least ONE Axis power. And judging how fooked I'm going to be from the countless Allied states, I'll be perfectly content to play along with Germany's historical losing streak.

EDIT: If I assume control of the central Axis powers, including Germany, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania (and little darling Finland), then I'd also like to be a CO-GM given the amount of land I've got to manage. I don't fancy leaving NPCs on my flanks, and would rather take direct control. Will make for a better story that way.

I did tonnes of research on the Axis war machine in my youth, much of it has stayed with me, but not all of it. So go easy on me if I struggle with a few historical facts, and instead, help me to correct anything I do wrong.

Let me get an app up first before anyone makes a decision, though :)

And if it must happen, id be more than happy to npc Japan!! If it happens, ill likely follow historic events so as to retain uniformity in the pacific.

I'm sure someone will find it to be biased as I am using the united states as my primary but the offer is there!

Edit: It would actually be fun as I plan on making a few side characters (mainly soldiers) the war on both Europe and pacific theaters, it'd be pretty fun to make some npc's for both sides.

I could do them too, if I have to. The more nations I have though, the less specific my posts will be. I couldn't write a detailed post from every nation's viewpoint, that'd be an insane word count. Instead, I'll probably focus on the various theatres. So Japan in the east would have its own little story, in Europe and Russia the central Axis powers would have their piece, narrated chiefly by Hitler and his Generals ofc, with a little flavouring from that good looking sex beast we know as Mussolini. In Africa, it would be my main man Rommel. So my posts would be formatted like this:

The Axis Powers

Europe, the Pact of Steel

Fluff about Axis efforts in Russia, some stuff about Hitler's descent into insanity. Lots of explosions. Much misery.

The Far East

Fluff about the Japanese thinking their bonzai charge is an effective military tactic against American armour.

North Africa

Fluff about Rommel being civil, and playing cards with some English POWs because he's nice like that.

etc

Obviously, anyone could take any of the Axis nations off me at any point; I'd just be supervising them until someone wanted to play them.

More I think about it, id love to npc the Japanese. I have so many stories for side characters but it'd require me knowing the outcome of the battles and indeed the war.

But man, I really want to write these stories that are flying about in my head.

W.I.P But you guys can check back to see as it develops, and offer critique where needed. I'm having trouble locking down exact military numbers at the period of Dec 1941, so I'm having to make educated guesses in places. If you know better, or know of a site than can help me, then by all means shout out :) thanks.

The Axis Powers

Central Powers

Nation Name: Deutsches Reich

Leader: Adolf Hitler, Führer of Germany

Allegiance: Axis

Government: Fascist Dictatorship

Military: Germany has one of the greatest land armies in the known world; fuelled by an obsession for technological advancements, and anchored around the doctrine of risky but incredibly mobile warfare, the Nazi War Machine has left a string of states in utter defeat at little cost.

Relying heavily on their Blitzkrieg tactic, the idea of concentrated armoured pushes, backed by close Luftwaffe coordination, the German Army has achieved crushing victories against the Allies. However, the Blitzkrieg stratagem also has its weaknesses, and the Fuhrer's ill fated gamble against Russia has backfired to a point of Total War - a state of war that the Third Reich cannot possibly hope to sustain long term... though this has not been admitted yet, at an official level.

Deployments in Africa have put pressure on Germany's military reserves, who are desperately needed in the fight against Communism. Heavy losses have been sustained in Russia, and most of these are irreplaceable.

The British Channel broke the back of the Luftwaffe in the west, and the surviving squadrons and materials have been relocated to the East, leaving the German heartland lightly defended for the time being. Garrison forces are maintained across the occupied states of France, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium etc, but these are second-rate armies with little armoured support.

With the whole world united against it, the Deutsches Reich simply does not have the men and material to beat them all. However, should the Allies come up against a fully coordinated and reinforced Germany Army, they'll find themselves facing an experienced and extremely professional adversary with a knack for performing the unthinkable.

Current Deployment of Forces:

Ost Front: 2,667,000 troops, 1,200 tanks, 1000 air craft, 14,000 guns.

Afrika: 32,000 men, 500 tanks, 250 aircraft, 100 guns.

Garrison Forces: Scattered across Europe, 2,000,000. 350 tanks, 400 aircraft.(Estimated)

Atlantic: The German navy is pittifully small compared to the likes of the UK and America, and it relies primarily on U-Boat wolf packs to upset Allied shipping. Most of the Kriegsmarine survived until 1945, as it wasn't really committed in any major battle, aside from the occasional sortie by large battleships.

Nation Name: Kingdom of Italy

Leader: Benito Mussolini, King Vittorio Emanuele III.

Allegiance: Axis

Government: Fascist Dictatorship, with Monarchical consent.

Military: Italy's performance in World War Two thus far has been disasterous, and ultimately, extremely costly to its greatest ally: Germany.

In June of 1940, an Italian army invaded the south of France, and although outnumbering the French garrison more than three to one, they were comprehensibly defeated.

An invasion of Greece also horribly backfired, requiring German forces to fatally divert men and material to save them, that should have been used in Operation Barbarossa. Some historians argue this costed them the capture of Moscow, as the offensive would have started earlier in the year if it were not for the Greek campaign.

Their gains from the British in Africa were slow and unimaginative; Mussolini expected a quick end to the war, and did not fully commit his commanders to the wider picture. Therefore, within six months, the British had retaken most of what they had lost, and crushed a large Italian army in the process.

Wheeling from these grievous defeats, Axis presence in Africa remained only through the tactical prowess of Erwin Rommel, who arrived with some supporting units from Germany, but who went on to take control of the entire theatre.

The Italians have also sent men to assist in Russia, and though these forces have faired better than their African counterparts, they're still a liability along the German lines.

Lacking effective armour and possessing an outdated air force, Italy may as well be a third world nation in comparison to the monsters of British and American industry. Strategically, they are an auxiliary for the German army, and an ineffective one at that.

Current Deployment of Forces:

Africa: 1,000,000 soldiers, 800 tanks, 750 guns, 500 aircraft.

Italy: 1,000,000 soldiers, 250 tanks, 150 guns, 150 aircraft.

Eastern Front: 300,000 soldiers, 400 tanks, 400 guns, 200 aircraft.

Mediterranean: The Italian navy, like its army, is laughably ineffective. Aside from guarding Italy's coasts with its antique battleships, it primarily attempts to keep Rommel's logistical lines open - sometimes at heavy cost.

These are the minor Axis states in Europe. Though they all played their part in supplementing the German war machine, they all equally played rather minor roles. They are weak, economically depressed, and no thanks to those stupid Romanian's and Hitler's ignorance of military matters, the Germans lost Stalingrad because of them in '43.

I'm not going to give a detailed report of each, as that would be an insane effort. Instead, I'm grouping them to give the Allied players a gist of what's going on.

Minor Axis States: Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Finland.

Leader: Various

Allegiance: Axis

Government: Various, but mostly dictatorships and right winged.

Military: Second rate armies, using outdated equipment to supplement Germany's forces. Apart from the Finns, who are tactically devious and who use a lot of German equipment.

Current Deployment of Forces:

Central Europe: 2,000,000 soldiers, 700 tanks, 1000 guns, 500 aircraft.

Eastern Front: 1,000,000 soldiers, 1000 tanks, 2000 guns, 750 aircraft.

Naval: Small and of little consequence in the real world's time line.

@Voltus_Ventus Hence why I said, 'in theory' :)

@SgtEasy So does that mean Malaya and Singapore are not British possessions? Which is fine by the way (though Singapore would be nice...).

That's all I can do for now. I'll come back later, but the central powers are complete.

Forgive me if it's a bit scarce on info, but there was no way I was going to list the active tank and plane models for this many countries. Just know that in my posts, historical equipment will be in use, along with tactics and command problems (Hitler started to get a little micro-managy at this point, but nothing compared to what he did in '43 and '44. Oh, and '45. )

If the GM doesn't like what I'm selling, that's cool. I just figured you guys would want a living, breathing enemy to kill, and I'm happy to play the part. In return I want some forgiveness for any historical inaccuracies I make (i will correct them if pointed out), and some leeway for other mistakes (which again, I will correct).

In short, I'll be the bad guy, but i wont tolerate some noob screaming "WAIT, THAT CANT HAPPEN, LET ME GIVE YOU A SMUG 2000 WORD ESSAY AS TO WHY!"

Just say point out my mistake, politely explain what I need to do to correct it, and we'll all be happy Gilmore.

I also wont tolerate this kind of talk: "hey dude, that Panzer model wasn't available for another two days."

I know we have alot of professors in this Guild, and some of them are a bit volatile. I'll correct and gratefully receive information regarding any critical errors on my part, but if it's benign, I'd rather not waste the time and effort when I could be posting.

Thanks! :)

Things have really escalated in the last 12 hours haven't they. But through it all, one Seaplane carrier shall rise! The Teutonic Order shall fulfill its god granted missions to liberate Catholics everywhere!

Or be horrible destroyed by a random U-Boat.

I'm on board with this idea namely since id doesn't force me to also play the part of Japan which could go conflict of interest when Yamatai is precariously deciding on who they should join.

+Nation Name:Canada
+Leader:William Lyon Mackenzie King
+Allegiance:Allies
+Government:Federal parliamentary,constitutional monarchy
+Military:After Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, Canada followed France, Britain and other Commonwealth nations in declaring war, but this time it did so independently. Canada would also later declare war against Italy and Japan.Canadian security relied on British success in this war, along with maintaining national security, politically speaking, some felt it was Canada’s duty to assist her allies. Canada went through many overhauls to their military that was unprepared for war, in the following year they provide troops, supplies, and equipment to Britain .Canada ranked defending itself as high as aiding Britain on their list of priorities and defend British interest in both Pacific and Atlantic theaters.During 1937 the two nations had agreed that any Canadian military equipment manufactured in Canada would use British designs. While this reasonably assumed that its troops would presumably always fight with Britain so the two forces should share equipment and so the Canadian industry manufactures Canadian equipment copying British designs. The Canadian economy boomed during the war as its industries manufactured military materiel for it's Allies in the Commonwealth

The Canadian Army is primarily a volunteer force to avoid repeating another conscription crisis like in world war one. They have a newly created Royal Canadian Armored Corp and and have many troops deployed to mainland Britain for defense of the island constantly training. troops deployed to Hong Kong fighting against the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong.
Active Person

The Royal Canadian Air Force provided the majority of Commonwealth pilots, trained under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. They have multiple squadrons in Britain,Africa, and Southeast Asia. The RCAF played key roles in the Battle of Britain, antisubmarine warfare during the Battle of the Atlantic, the bombing campaigns against German industries.

The Royal Canadian Navy defends both of their coast lines and escort merchant ships across the Atlantic and carrying out Anti Submarine operations against German U-Boats . Canada was also given the responsibility of covering two strategically key points in the Atlantic. The first is known as the "Mid-Atlantic Gap", located off the coast of Greenland. This gap was a very hostile point in the supply line which was very difficult to take control.
+Current Deployment of Forces:
The Canadian Army have Troops are in southeast Asia and the British Isles
RCAF is in southeast Asia, British Isles, and Africa.
RCN is deployed to both Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
