Gunna have to argue with ya there, the IC link in your first OOC post goes to a 2 month old Interest Check. The original gifted, the one mine came from, is 4 months old.

Edit: Just checked again, apparently my phone was lying to me earlier and turns out you guys did come first my bad lol. Anyways, your RP looks really cool so far so best of luck to ya.

@PirouetteWell, here's the CS, so I'll let you be the judge of whether it's fine or not:

Name: Richard Washington
Alias(s): He has a tendency to name himself after famous historical figures, like 'Ronald Reagan' or 'Julius Caesar', while suffering under his insanity, but when his powers active he prefers to call himself Harbinger.
Age: Appears 23, but actually is 81 years of age

Affiliations: Mercs

Factions: Neutral

Description: Richard is 5' 11", with shaved, dark brown hair, and small scars upon his face. His eyes are a deep, ocean blue. He has a lean build, and is of a semi-muscular body type, his chest and back covered in scars and other marks left from injuries of various types. He notably wears a dark grey trenchcoat, buttoned up to his collar, black military fatigues, and combat boots, even when out in public as a normal person.

Powers: Richard's powers stem from his emotions. When he feels any emotion strongly enough, his powers activate, giving him enhanced speed, strength, toughness, and regeneration. The origins of his powers came with a side effect: strong insanity when not under the effects of his powers. Notably enough, his powers activating removes his avid madness, giving him a distinctly solemn, sane, and grim personality. He has one power that does not stem from emotions, however, and that is his highly extended lifespan. He is 81 years old, but maintains the appearance and body of a 23 year old male. His main weakness is that he must maintain the emotion that triggered his power, at the same severity in order to maintain the power. If his emotional state changes or lowers, his powers will cancel themselves temporarily, leaving him incapacitated until his body recovers from the sudden shift. The recovery can last anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour. During this state of recovery, he is in a state of unconsciousness, and will murmur random things in his sleep.

Skills: Richard is a highly skilled swordsman, notable for wielding a sword built for one hand in both hands to enhance damage possible. He is also a skilled marksman with pistols, capable of using two at once with no loss to accuracy. He is also skilled in the martial art of Jeet Kune Do, and when asked, has stated he learned it from Bruce Lee himself.

Equipment: He keeps a special longsword designed to be used while his powers are active strapped to his back in a grey sheath, and carries 2 M1911 .45 caliber pistols on his hips for ranged combat.

Ranking: low A Rank, borderline B Rank

Brief History:

Gotta couple of issues here. The meta human condition has only been around for ten maybe fifteen years.

I think the sword will hinder you more than help. Even with the added attributes there aren't many that you could use it for. Keep it if you want but that's take on it.

The youth thing is kinda odd for me, I like the idea but that would imply he was the first meta ever. That part bothers me. I really don't like characters with regeneration. We have like what two or three healers.

I'd like the other gms to weigh in.

There are differences; Lucas' teleportation works only if he can adequately concentrate on it, like all his other 'effects'.

@Letter BeeDoes that mean that if he loses focus, he goes back to where he was before? If you ask me, that makes it very, very, pointless, though I could possible see the benefits of it, but still. In my opinion, I think the power needs some limits, cause what's to stop this guy from imagining everyone dead from whatever, instantly knocking them all out, or making it so that they feel they're dead, and finishing them off with his own weapons. This power just seems like it can be exploited really easily, and more than that, it's the kinda power that you have to physically hold back on to make it viable. Besides, the thing were you say he gets desperate when he starts doing what i described doesn't really seem to make much sense. That seems like the first thing anyone with such a power would do in any fight. I think you should impose some more limits on his ability, like instead of effects he can just bring things from his imagination into reality, and there are certain things that just aren't possible to create(like a black hole, which seems extremely possible with how you've explained this power).

Just my opinion, the Gm's have the final say.

@Letter Bee Lucas' power reminds me a whole lot of Gremmy Thoumeaux's power from Bleach. He could realize anything he imagined as long as he could concentrate on it, and if not it was cancelled out. Of course, he was near invincible.

There's a nifty trick regarding this type of near-omnipotent character, and it's that this specific limit of concentration can be bypassed by simply imagining say two copies of himself. They're exactly him, a fruit of his imagination. Their only goal is to imagine various things without losing concentration while the first one only has to concentrate on keeping them in existence.

Cool concept aye?

Yeah, he goes back to where he used to be if he loses focus, although a way can be found around that if he uses a portal instead of teleporting. And, good points all.

Will think up of limits shortly.

Hmm, I have two ideas:

1.) Lucas' power can only affect objects in sensory range; an exception to this are portals, but even then, he can only travel to a place whose image he has seen.

2.) Lucas' powers cause Brain Damage to himself when overused. This is further aggravated by his 'Concentration Pills'.

Just dropping my two cents in here. I tend to be sort of wary of powers that can 'overheat' or damage the user when overused because, and let's be honest with ourselves here, you're not going to decide your character's used his powers too much and turn him into a vegetable. No, it'll just be something brought up occasionally for drama, while your character sweats and strains and gives himself nosebleeds as he wanders merrily around being... well, omnipotent. It's not just you, nobody ever makes the 'power overheat' matter in things like this. It's only ever a talking point.

But, hey, I don't work here. GMs get the final say, I just thought I'd mention that. If the GMs say that'll work, that'll work.

Yeah, I get your concerns.

It also doesn't help that this sort of power was supposed to be a Magic System for other RPs.

Ugh, I dunno, I want Lucas to be someone who's strong, but idealistic to the point where he doesn't believe that struggle and effort are necessary, which in turn holds him back. Problem is, I need him to actually be able to survive having those beliefs, as well as build up dramatic tension for when said beliefs bite him in the ass.

@Letter BeeBee, I'm going to be honest here, this character is too over-powered as long as he can imagine up effects. Imagination powers are always ridiculously strong, but when you add in the ability to, for the most extreme of examples, imagine your enemy dead(either by disintergration, heart attack, bullet in the brain etc., so many ways to do it without actually straining himself), then it's too powerful, even with the 'temporary death' thing, which makes it seem more like an OP illusion ability to be honest, he can still just walk up to the person and shoot them. Add that to the fact that he has no real flaws in his personality, background, or ability in general, and you have yourself a character that is for all intents and purposes, a god.

I think you should give him a new power, or if you really want to go with this, it needs heavy limitation. This dude is like a SSS-level meta, as his power enables him to destroy the world. Like I said, make so that he can just think up objects or creatures or something. This power is just too strong and way, way, waaaaaay to easy to exploit.

Post above yours details a flaw I forgot to give him. Again, I need a character who is so idealistic (and a little conceited) that he believes that struggle and effort are unnecessary, while at the same time, be able to survive having those beliefs for a time.

I'll try out a new power, though.

@Letter Bee Make a character with a decent power and don't have him die? There's a no-death clause if you don't agree to it. However if you're overly idealistic like before, you'll attract attention, and people like Edge or Jewels will have fun creaming him. I suggest you don't make yourself overly conspicuous this time.

@NarcissisticPotato, @c3p-0h, @AcerRo, New Character Sheet for Lucas!

Name: Lucas Abd-al-Yasu (Lucas, Servant of Jesus, the Anti-Eli)
Alias(s): Retribution
Age: 26.
Affiliations: Heroes
Factions: Reformists
Description: A brown-skinned man with perfectly combed, short black hair and green eyes, Lucas is a tall, atheletic, handsome man with a lean, scuplted physique who prefers to wear a flak jacket over a shirt and tan jeans, completed by a brown longcoat. For footwear, he chooses sturdy desert boots.

Powers: Powers: Lucas can produce and control water and to a limited extent, ice. He can create whips, high-pressure water jets, ice ramps, bolts of ice, and, well, basically anything that requires water and ice to make. His weakness is that he is severely vulnerable to electricity when using water and, when using ice, fire. He also cannot control water already inside a living being, so no plantbending or bloodbending (unless the blood is outside the body).

Flaws that aren't directly connected to his power, yet affect it, are Lucas' runaway idealism, which, when combined with impatience, leads him to regard struggle and effort as unecessary, which in turn leads him to break down when things don't go his way.

Skills: History, Literature, Strategy and Tactics, Unarmed Combat, Firearms, Swordsmanship and Knives.

Equipment: Several types of Gun, Ammo, a Scimtar and a Kalis*, as well as Grenades, a First Aid Kit, and Pills that help Concentration.

*en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalis

Ranking: A

(Optional) Brief History: Born in Jordan as the son of a Chirstian Arab Lieutenant Colonel (Muqaddam) and a Filipino Domestic Worker, Lucas was a an immensely intelligent and skilled youth with Dual Citizenship, which allowed him entrance into Jordan's circles of privilege, while at the same time keeping him grounded by interaction with his poorer Filipino relatives. A good fighter and already a soldier in Jordan's Armed Forces, Lucas was 21 at the time of the Maybark Incident, when Metahumans came to the Public's Attention. Originally hiding his powers from people, he chose to go public when ISIS began overruning Syria and Iraq, which in turn was the same time Metas began being more accepted.

In 2015, Lucas was sent by the UN to relieve the city of Ramadi, then under siege by IS forces. He suceeded, and thereafter underwent further missions in Mosul, Tayl Abd, and Raqqa itself, where he killed the 'Caliph' of IS, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. After that, well, he's been wandering around, putting out brushfires all around the world.

@Letter BeeBetter power, but no controlling water in people. That offer your chacter to much control over others, though it can be he can do what sebastian does, take over the bodies of the dead, but something tells me that won't fly. Also, you don't really mention much limits, and his flaws are ridiculous, since that constitutes for a majority of the cast. You needs some limts and some power based weaknesses, though the one you put for his personality is a good start.

Ugh, sorry, it's just that I tend to not use my powers creatively and go for multiple and varied 'brute force' approaches. My power choices tend to be an attempt to compensate for that.
