April made sure her front door was locked before starting the (fairly short) walk towards her work. She was listening to music which allowed her mind to wander, and almost inevitably it fell on her least favourite subject- Andy.
Andy was a boy April met in the summer after she'd finished high school. He was seemingly perfect, and they were into all the same music, same films, basically the same everything. April fell head over heels in love with him, and she thought he had fallen for her too. She was torn apart when she found out that he was cheating on her.
April shook her head, as if to clear her thoughts of him. I need to stop thinking about him...he isn't worth it! He hurt me, i'll admit it. But that's in the past. I need to look into the future. After arriving at the Mochavine Cafe & Bar, April tugged her earphones out of her ears and gently put her phone in her bag. She walked in, and stopped for a moment to look around the cafe. By the window was a cute boy that April sometimes saw here, usually drinking coffee and reading. She tore her eyes away from him, hoping that he didn't catch her staring! April dumped her bag in the staff room before bumping into Rosanna and greeting her with a smile and a friendly "Hey!"
