Consistent absence will lock your Deep Ground account, which will neuter your chances at anything short of a criminal career. And not playing after a while, they'll have to start investigating what happened to you. If you don't or can't answer (Cause you're dead or something) then they just shut down your account. And being an uneducated highschool flunkie who can't even play a video game are not good prerequisite for anything short of a crack whore. But who knows, maybe someone's who's big money would pick you up and let you live luxuriously so long as you occasionally suck their dick.

Hypothetically speaking of course.

On the job training isn't a thing? Even a monkey can probably do data entry in the future.

But wait, so they also get suspicious if you don't play the game for extended periods of time? Are we talking about a few month? or a year?

Varies from person to person. No one is perfect after all. There are many factors that go into who is and isn't investigated: Obviously rich kids who skip out almost can't ever escape without their parents bitching, assuming they're aware of the situation in the first place. High level characters tend to also get priority if only because their assumed good records are something that Purple Crown wants to maintain. Kings and guild leaders are also obviously monitored. Now just some random level 1 student who got bored of Deep Ground? He'll likely slip past the system and never really get called on it. He goes maybe about 3 or maybe 6 months and he'll find his Deep Ground Account suspended. Goes for a year and it's deleted. And no one would have told him a thing, unless someone actually cares about such thing.

And yeah, there's on-the-job training. Plenty of packaging and shipping companies can and will teach you how to load and unload boxes at the most optimal rate for 6 hours straight. If you're hoping to get some sort of on-the-job training for a lucrative or at least respectable career, you're outta luck. If you can't even play a video game through highschool, why would any business think you'll do any better with an actual job, which is likely going to be just as much of a monotonous grind? Just without as much social interaction.

Your standing in Deep Ground is essentially your college degree: every job needs one now, and by no means does having one actually mean you're better than anyone else. Just that you've had the time and money to spend for it, which makes you a better investment then the ones who try to go without.

So you're not automatically placed into a position after you graduate from Deep Ground? There's still job-searching to be done and all that?

You're given opportunities, which for some means you have plenty of fields within your interest to go for, and for most means "This is the job best for you and that's all we got". Essentially when you graduate you'd be called by anyone who picked up your DG profile and figured you might be a good candidate for whatever job they need you to do. And of course people hunt down for the best of the graduates first, so they're the ones getting the good jobs and the most of them. Everyone else just kinda get whatever is trickled down. You can always apply, but that essentially amounts to "Please look at my profile again" as far as big business care.

So no, you're not automatically put into a job after you graduate, but you are given some damn good opportunities if you did good. I'm not even talking about entry-level stuff here. Most of the kinds will be offered manager positions in various big and small businesses without ever starting from the bottom. Whether or not the take those opportunities depends on the actual person. Hence why Purple Crown doesn't just hook you up to Deep Ground 24/7 and feeds you nutrients through a tube. You have to take the effort to pursue and do your part.

And I'm guessing that, for the first few years on the job, it'd basically be your post-secondary education? Seeing how high school probably wouldn't prepare you for, say, being a doctor or what-not. Also, that getting promoted (thus being able to get moar earnings than what your Deep Ground profile would originally allow you to get) is also possible?

Something like that. That's when you get your "On the job education" of sorts. And yeah, promotions are possible. Generally one COULD work their way from the bottom rung to the top even if their initial Deep Ground results put them at the bottom. There's just less hoops and much easier for someone who did succeed very well in Deep Ground, as oppose to one who didn't and had to work harder after they graduated. If promotions were point based, those who did well in Deep ground would start at 100 and earn 10 from work, while those who didn't do so well start at 0 and only get 1 from work. And the score to become the big boss is 1000. It's a system that rewards the elites with better rewards while the non-elite have to struggle until they too earn the title of elites. Ya know, Social Class and what not.

Right, been meaning to ask this.

What does the school uniform look like, if there is one?

There is a school uniform, if memory and this version of DGO serves correctly. I don't really remember what it looks like, tho. It involves a lot of purple, though, that's pretty much the extent of my memory.

Is living in the dorms mandatory? Because I was just having my character living with his family still.

I thought the school was linked to DGO.

>While Deep Ground plays a big part of one's education at Purple Crown

Therefore you must be 13 to attend?

If that isn't the case then just read my post as she is only now moving into the dorms but has been attending classes for the week. :D
