Zach was sure that his parents were talking to him as he was vaguely aware of a chorus of what he called "The Wah Wah's." As usual, he wasn't paying a lick of attention, instead he was buried in his phone, chatting with his friends on a roleplaying forum.

And just like that, Zach noticed that his cell phone signal went dead. He raised his eyebrow, thinking it was quite unusual; he could see a cell tower in the distance from where he was. By now, the school was in view. Maybe he’d be able to pick up a Wi-Fi signal there… He slid his phone back into his pocket, and realized that his parents were still talking.
“You really need to get out more. That’s why we’re doing this, Zachary.”
Zach cringed. He hated being called ‘Zachary’, and he especially hated being told to ‘get out more’. His parents may as well have been telling him to climb to the top of Mount Everest, for they both had about the same likelihood of happening. His parents were so dumb; it wasn’t that he didn’t like being outside, or being in school and learning things…it was the people he didn’t like. IRL has too many NPCs, was a phrase he was fond of. The community sucked, one might say.
He looked out the window of the vehicle, clearly ignoring his parents again. The Wah Wahs. He spied a number of NPCs entering the school or going about their business.
“Okay, we’re here. It’s time to go, Zachary.”
Zach cringed again. “’Kay.” He opened the door to the vehicle, and grabbed his backpack, slinging it over his shoulder as he went. As he trudged into the school, he could hear his parents say, “Make us proud, Zachary!”
He rolled his eyes. Like that was going to happen…
