Kuhaku Shiro - History Class

His ears perked when a familiar voice spoke to him. Shiro peered over his shoulder to see who it was, an innocent and curious expression lighted in his eyes. "Hmm...I know that voice. I think." Smiling, his tail wagged happily behind him, recognizing his new friend. When you thought about it, it was really quite easy to befriend Shiro. Simply talk to the boy and hold a single conversation with him and it was a done deal. Consider yourself written into his 'Friend Book'

"Oh, Sepia!"
He cocked an eyebrow, trying to come up with something witty to say.
"Yeah, that seat's taken already."
Wait for a dramatic pause.
"By...you! Shoot, go ahead boss. If anyone protests tell them they can shove it."
He laughed, grinning in return.
"And come on, I've got a name. Gave you the respect of remembering yours."
Shiro teased, settling his head back on his desk with his eyes forward.

Valin Nash - Midnight Squad Warehouse

Valin had been leaning against the wall for the last two hours, and he was bored out of his mind. Flipping a random bullet through his fingers, he glanced over towards his supposed teammates. Violet, apparently, she seemed to be the tough and no nonsense type of lady, and just the perfect person for him. There was also unknown standing around somewhere in this warehouse, unknown also being known as 'Amber'. Valin wasn't too sure of him, but someone that doesn't want to reveal their true name is obviously suspicious and hiding something from the entire group, he would figure out his secrets sooner or later. Finally, there was Akashi, he was definitely some type of rich boy. The way he postured himself, the weapon he carried combined with the high-tech ammo, and he heard that the kid had a pretty nice car. Heh heh heh, he could work with this group. So, Valin looked back at his bullet, he sighed to himself before a distinctive sound rang through the warehouse.

Valin soon found himself holding his handheld radio by the antenna, he listened attentively to the plan being discussed by the mystery man, but with his eyes unfocused on the walkie-talkie, he didn't look like he was paying attention at all. However, by the end of the debrief, Valin was grinning ear to ear, he knew his role inside of the plan. The grimy boy broke out from his pose, he walked towards to the group with his arms spread out, and he exclaimed to the group. "Oh! I'll be the distracting factor of the group! I'll be sure to play my role as perfectly as possible, so you guys better put your 100% into this operation, mysterious man is expecting the best from us." Valin continued to grin at the group before turning his entire body around by spinning himself with his heel, his direction now heading towards the cardboard box for his equipment.

Volk

It would not be long before he leaves the station. He knew it, regardless of whether the Midnight Squad was competent or not.

The standards of human beings were set to three things: the amount of profit, the amount of bliss, and the amount of reputation they would receive from whatever they did. But these things were not always respectively money, innocent joy, and the hope of keeping a good image. Some of these things were revenge, guilty pleasure.

The hope to instill fear upon all that stand before one.

He remembered a young girl he visited at a hospital. She was diagnosed with an incurable illness. She asked him, "You're a bad person, aren't you?" when he shared some of the tales from his life he thought was interesting to him. And he revealed to her with a flat "No," because what he did was not necessarily bad. All he did was follow the three unwritten standards of mortals; he just followed them differently.

History could be perceived in different ways. The leader of a Faunus rebellion organization may be viewed as a psychopath, but to others, he had the right to ask for sympathy. Calculus never ever had a single way to solve problems. All smart men knew how to use their mathematical knowledge flexibly. From simple equations such as permutations to complex structures such as multiple integration, anything could be used to find a result. Different methods led to different perspectives in every day life; he learned this.

Both humans and Faunus rambled on about each other, claiming they were greedy and hypocritical. So it was natural for Volk to realize: Everything that is sentient can always be right and wrong. Because when the gift of sentience grants the three standards of mortal life to every single sentient life form, why was it wrong of him to simply... simply...

Break... those standards...

The girl died a few days later. He made sure to borrow her body and have his business associates chop it up for money. He liked making money, whether it be slow or fast. It showed progression in life and never ceased to bore him. But one day, if it did bore him, what would he become? So he thought about it, and he pondered about it, and he wondered about it. He was sure of one thing; if his interest in earning money died away, then he would simply be interested in something greater or lesser. And either way, he would view it as the right thing to do.

Even if such things were not the happiest things to do.

He remembered dozens of things. Things that left impressions on him. One time he actually helped a girl get her cat back. A king of a black market economy was not exempt from participating in society's trivial problems. All people who had class were proper people, regardless of how wrong their actions are viewed upon. It may seem repetitive, but again, no actions are wrong when they have reason.

Only monsters were always wrong. They can't cry or think. Perhaps that was why it was so hard to find a monster. Not even the Grimm lacked the ability to think.

He also remembered the more realistic side of his job. He remembered standing in a surgery room that did not belong to a hospital. It lacked nurses, but it was full of tools, so that was good. A loan shark had failed him big time, and when the man sent hundreds of men to kill Volk, it was only natural of the black market dealer to push aside his own men to safety. "Step aside," he remembered saying. "I deal with my trash." And those hundreds of men, he pummeled far more harshly than he would to a monster. Their reason for trying to kill him may not have been wrong, but alas, conflicts always began due to clashing reasons. His reason to fight was simply because he wanted to live. So he killed them.

Before the chairman settled into a small, slightly red styrofoam box, Volk told him, "I'm brighter. That is the only reason why you lie here, lying with no more lies to amuse anyone with." And he made sure to watch the chairman move in comfortably into the styrofoam box as his right-hand man placed a screwdriver through his tongue. And then his teeth. And eyes. But his right-hand man was smart enough to leave the human mind for Volk himself to remove. And this event repeated itself over hundreds of times.

He felt the touch of the organ that controlled the entirety of the human body. He observed it; he actually kept one in his office back at where he worked with the Midnight Squad just to muse over it when he got bored. Anything fresh, raw, ripe seemed perfect for profit. in a sense, Volk was a farmer. He would pick the ripest of crops and sell them for fair prices. He would open his own anonymous websites in the deep web; he played his cards right underneath the Internet's surface. People would not only buy the crops he bought, but they would also pick up the souvenirs he prepared. After all, it was hard to find weapons specifically designed to kill people these days. He was the best kind of farmer in the black market economy of its entirety. He had so many names, but everyone who made a deal with him knew of who he was. He was the sole reason why the black market stays strong.

And he made sure that everyone feared him.

Here he sat in a low-quarantine cell in a red suit. He remembered wearing a black suit before he became a big shot in the black markets. Yet, now, he wore a red suit, and he wondered why. It was no childish reason such as "I tainted my clothes with the blood of my enemies." He simply enjoyed the color red. Sometimes he would wear blue, but his personal assistants would berate him for wearing something that contrasted with his name. And he had to agree, it was childish of him to not live up to his name. But more than his name, he wanted to remember who he was at all times. So perhaps that was the reason why he did not wear red when he was not busy.

Volk remained seated, his eyes closed as he meditated. He had fallen to the trap of bloodlust far too many times. He had gotten overboard and tarnished his redless clothes with red, even though he wanted to avoid such circumstances. He spoke silently, his mouth wording wise sayings straight out of old proverbs of various artifacts.

After all, it would be problematic if he killed everyone in the entire station just by being a little ticked off at how they made his suit dusty.

The question was still up in the air. A part of him was grateful that he could finally experience the possibilities of youth, but was it acceptable to move on from the now faraway days which embodied his past? He could have turned back. He could have never boarded or stepped off of that dropship and duly returned to service just like that. A slew of options which would result in him not winding up here presented themselves in his mind. The boy fell out of his trance at Robert’s response, it caught him off guard, the last thing he thought the guy would answer. He was expecting something more personal, maybe a quirk people found really odd but he instead viewed it as a positive point.

”Intriguing.” Delta internally commented, his interest only grew when the team leader spurred on the conversation. He left it to Eve to formulate a response, waiting on standby to chime in. ”Oh, Delta has served in the Atlesian Military for two years. His father’s in the higher echelons of the armed forces command hub, so his starting at a young age was inevitable, and delved into arduous training throughout the entirety of his childhood.” It sounded a bit cruel at first, the image of a fifteen year old serving alongside men twice his age, some relatives even considered it inhumane.

"He may look like a walking twig, but he’ll have your back, even when it’s against the wall. I don’t mean to brag, but he’s hopeless without me~! Like a lost puppy drenched in the rain!” Eve began to chuckle at its own pun without remorse, until it slowly turned around to face a blank stare. ”Heh...heh...pleasehavemercy.” It was at that point did class finally dismiss, a signal denoting the next one soon to proceed, which he would hopefully be introduced and fully grasp the concept of. Delta tilted his head at his familiar, a minute gesture notifying his companion that it was time to go. Eve took a few moments to wallow and pout before it trotted its way across the desks and finally leaped into the pouch.

The boy stood up from his seat and slipped on his hat in one fluent motion, savoring the chance to stretch out his arms. ”Eve went a bit off track and forgot to answer your original question. I don’t have any clinically proven phobias.” Except for being flung into some social interaction where he had no footing whatsoever. He could already see the windy and contorted road ahead of him. ”In requiem, I’m a sniper. At least on paper I am, but I can take vanguard any time you need. You can gauge me at your own leisure, you’re the leader after all. I’ll go on ahead and snag us a few seats. Who knows, maybe Eve’ll get to know to know a few others students?” He briskly stated all of this without the slightest peep of emotion, only making a slight shrug at the last sentence before descending the flight of stairs leading to the exit.

The grey-haired student suddenly came to a halt at the last step and turned on a dime towards his two team members. He briefly glanced at the two and opened his mouth again, ”I guess the proper thing to say here would be… The best of luck to us in our future endeavors?” Delta peered down at his familiar, as if he was asking, ”Did I do that right?” Eve gave the boy a warm smile and nodded in affirmation. Rather than saluting, he gave the two a sluggish wave before proceeding to the class ahead of them. Hopefully they would chat a bit among themselves, since Grane barely took part in the whole conversation.

After grabbing another can of coffee, with the guidance of Eve, the boy trekked on to his next class. The question still echoed in his head, ceasing to incessantly repeat itself, hoping for a clear and resolute answer out of the very mind it originated from. A hailstorm of words could perfectly describe Delta right now. Uneasy. Uncertain. Anxious. But he also felt glad that he was at ease in these halls. He never had to factor in these emotions prior to his enrolling at Beacon. Upon entering the classroom, his ears already picked up gossiping of the event which occurred more than thirty minutes ago. Delta didn’t get to bear witness to it first hand, but he would probably end up asking Eve to project it once classes were done for the day. History had been a cinch to him in the past, so he wasn’t very perturbed about his current standing in the class. The only difficult part was finding a few empty seats, but there was a row lying completely vacant. He set his luggage down out of the way of inbound traffic and paced his way over to one of the seats, then treated himself to a sip of his drink while folding his arms over on the desk. "Wonder what's on the agenda for today?" He quietly asked himself, a way of practicing for an actual conversation.

Cobalt Chideta- To History

Cobalt walked towards History and nodded in agreement. "Whoever did that will pay for their crimes. I'm no man of violence, but I can make an exception when it comes to people like that." A crown had grown on Cobalt's face but he shook his head and smiled.

"Anyways, I wanted to get a few things out of the way regarding our team. I feel like we all got off on the wrong foot after the incident last night, super sorry about that by the way." Cobalt frowned and looked at the ceiling. When he looked down he continued. "I don't know who your last teammate was and I don't think I can replace him. But I'll try my hardest to not screw anything up." Silence followed his words as he tried to think of what to say next. "I haven't given the best impression I'm sure but I'm not a screwup, I'm really not. I'm just a guy who puts way too much thought into things and is a bit softer on the inside than out. So let's start over." Cobalt stopped and reached out his hand to Oswald. "I'm Cobalt Chideta, newest member of team CODE. It's nice to meet you." He grinned and rubbed the back of his head with his other hand.

Krysthane, Yay learning.

Krysthane wrote down the required homework in her planner and quickly made her was to history eager to see what the lesson was today. As usual it looked like everyone was bored before the lesson even began. Krysthane at the very least enjoyed history, and honestly most of her classes. Looking around for a seat she didn't really see anyone she recognized, Sephia was here but she was sitting with someone else and Krysthane didn't want to intrude so she found a seat by herself and set up her desk for the lesson, notebook already out, the music incident already forgotten.

Skyra sat up directly facing Mokuren.
"You are pretty unique, yeah. To be honest, at first I thought of you as a pretty strange girl. I couldn't figure you out, but that was exactly what was intriguing for me. Until now, I was always able to figure people out, just by looking at them, but you're different. When I saw you the first time, I felt the need to explore you, to get to know you because you were different. That's why I even noticed you in the mass of people.
Up to this day, I still don't understand you, but that is okay, we don't know each other very well."

Yawning loudly Skyra stretched herself showing the entire extent of her flexibility and fitness.
"Emotions are something awesome, aren't they? And you never really know what emotion it is exactly. Is it just friendship or is it love, is it just disdain or hate and so on. That's the appeal I feel towards emotions. But at the same time, I try to hide them from others, you know. To not be found out that my perceived bashfulness is not really all that real and stuff. That I might be a lot more girly than I let pass."
She giggled.
"Especially when I'm with you, I feel a lot more girly." A hearty laugh escaped Skyra's lips and she gave a quick hug to Moku again.
"I think we should head back for classes again, shouldn't we?"

Sangue Naga - Math > History

Sangue Naga blinked.

Perhaps it was best to move Amaranth to a safer location. Maybe the infirmary would do, since a reason would probably be needed to skip classes. The problem was the some people needed to take notes, and she might have been better off staying awake in History class than Math.

And she also found this a clever way to give her team leader a break as well, seeing how he had nearly fallen in battle against the dozens of ones and zeros.

"The infirmary... It may be a good place to take her. If not, then maybe... a bench. Or any quiet place... would be good if you can explain things to the teachers."

The red-haired woman packed her things as she turned to Lauren and Ben. "I will take notes in the next class. So don't... mind taking time in helping her."

Sangue glanced at Amy one last time before walking to her next class. Her expression may have been idle, but her eyes had an obvious glint of concern for the Faunus's health.

Mokuren listened to Skyra, and felt her heart tighten with strange, alien emotions. She wasn't their biggest fan, and so she sprouted out a line that sounded perfectly fine in her head.
"I don't like you" Mokuren then smiled softly, not having the faintest clue that she had put her foot in it, big time. She simply hugged Skyra back, and shrugged nonchalantly, feeling her insides swell with wonder at the laugh from Skyra. "Class is mostly just people speaking. Speaking is great for people who can speak, but all I can do is talk, so I don't see much point in it. Still, I should go. They get all hissy cat when I avoid to many of them" Mokuren stood, brushed off her nice ass, and then looked to Skyra, waiting for her to get ready.

Amber-Midnight Squad Warehouse

Amber sat on one of the few creates left in the Warehouse. How they didn't destroy all of the creates was beyond anything he could think of at the moment. He was still out when the new teammate walked in and for a good chunk of the first hour. Now he was just sitting here waiting for orders from whomever was leading this ragtag team of miscreants. The new teammate looked like the worst of them all and Amber came to the conclusion that he would not like the new guy.

After listening to the new orders he made his way off his box. With the new team member calling the distraction part that meant that he would have to take over the role of one of the police. "Crimson Volk, huh? I wonder why we need to help him?" He turned to Violet. "I don't think you ever answered my question. About you being wet. If you don't want to go that far the first time I can take you to dinner first."

Gren Orchid

"Hey, I am not a meathead. I'm more of a metal head really." Gren joked with Abel as he and Shiro made their pact. Gren quietly considered finding Sapphire at some point and including her, but he debated whether or not he'd confront her alone or with the others. If alone he was certain Sapphire would be more willing to speak honestly about her thoughts about the team, or at the very least feel less inclined to go along simply because she was outnumbered. But then again if Gren did bring Abel and Shiro along perhaps it would be the incentive she'd need to know that they were operating behind her back, and if she intends to be their true leader she was going to need to spend some more time with them.

Whatever, Gren still had a bunch of classes. They weren't going out for noodles until afterschool. Gren returned to math class as it neared it ends, hastily trying to gather notes on the lesson and whatever assignments Fullbuster had assigned them. He gathered his hings and additionally, made a place on his head for Scoot to rest. It seems that for today he'll be taking care of the team pet. "Food! Food food food food!" From his insistence the little guy must be hungry. Looking into his back Gren didn't have much to give the little creature except a banana, and he didn't think ferrets could eat such things. He knew they ate meat but he lacked suck things on his person. When he spied a bird that had landed in the grass not too far away, Gren used his semblance to keep the bird rooted to the ground. "Forgive me little bird. I promise not to make your life go to waste."

As Scoot ate his fresh prey Gren headed to history class. He arrived sometime many others had and now there weren't many seats available. He quickly spotted Shiro talking to Sepia and smirked. Leave it to Shiro to be dense enough to not realize what sort of chick magnet he was. Gren wouldn't babysit him all day however, so he let Shiro fly solo for now as he went to go find himself an open seat.

Sepia dropped her bag on the floor and stepped over it, putting her feet in the seat and rear on the desk. "But that's no fun." she replied in a jokingly whiney voice. "Good evening, Sir Shiro, my dapper acquaintance." she started to giggle despite her mockingly stuffy tone. "'Tis lovely to be once again conversing." her tail swept back and forth across the edge of the desk in humor.

"In all seriousness, what's your favorite thing about Beacon? I haven't been here long, so I'm curious as to what the students enjoy doing the most."

Jasmine - Aura Control

As the faunus sat down, the demonstration began. And it was--in her opinion--pretty freaking cool. Her semblance already gave her impressive defensive control of aura, so her immediate thought was, "This can't be very difficult." So she stood up to find a partner. Her aura manifested around her hand and fingers, and she flexed her knuckles as she watched the glow. A quickly warm-up, however, and she dropped the shield, ready to attempt the pinpoint counter.

Grane Blauer

For the moment, Robert and Eve seemed content with the conversation they had going. Did Eve even acknowledge his reply? Who knew. Robert seemed to answer all her questions anyway, so Grane assumed Eve merely believed conversation with him wasn't interesting. It was apparently genderless, so that threw human right out the window. He was slightly curious of it's origin, but Grane wondered if it would be rude to ask Delta directly about Eve. People had a tendency to take innocent questions as insults for some reason.

The walk to class seemed oddly solitary, despite his teammates being literally right next to him. So far there wasn't much comradeship, but Grane supposed they had only just met and he was being a bit harsh. At least the next class was history, a subject he had no trouble with. Walking into the classroom, he noticed there was already students that had arrived, though few in number. Funny, he thought his team would have been first. There was a tiger faunus, a few humans...

And a familiar face. Grane wondered for a moment if he was hallucinating- The liquor did that to him sometimes. Wouldn't be the first time. But, Gren did tell him he was going to be a hunter. Grane just thought they would be rational enough not to enroll the crazy bastard. But lo and behold, he had been proven wrong, if that was Gren in that chair. There could only be so many boar faunus in Beacon anyway.

"There is only one motherfucker I've known that is as ugly as you. I'll be damned if that isn't you Gren! How the hell did you trick these humans into letting a poor excuse of a faunus into Beacon?"

Oswald Connolly- Srs Bsns

Cobalt's sudden foray into serious talk caught Oswald by surprise, but his first reaction was to simply shrug. This guy really was hung up about the whole business last night, wasn't he? That wasn't very good. "Shit happens, dude. I wouldn't worry about it. Diamond and I have been....under the weather....after our mission went FUBAR. Me moreso than her, but she's just a bit more openly critical of a person." Taking Cobalt's hand in his own and giving it a hard, firm shake, Oswald jerked his head. "We gotta get to class, though." Starting to make his own way to class, Oswald paused for a moment and sighed.

"Just remember to talk to us. Don't go blowing holes in anything before we're ready. That kinda stuff rarely ends well."

Cobalt nodded and continued walking. "Just wanted us to be on the same page. I feel like I hadn't made the best impression." He considered Oswald's words and smiled. "I'm not likely to blow holes in anything without thought." Cobalt walked into class and sat down near the back of the class. He put all of his stuff down and looked at the teacher. He seemed to be a very... energetic person.

After a few minutes he sighed and looked around. This was something he knew for the most part. Pretty boring.

Gren Orchid

Gren had taken a seat near the back of the class, as it was one of the few places were Gren could fit without moving the desk. His body was built for warfare, not scholarly pursuit. As he waited for class to start he closed his eyes and decided to browse the internet for a while. He went to his Role Playing Guild site and started to work on some posts. He also started up some music to get his thoughts off the white noise until a voice called out to him.

"There is only one motherfucker I've known that is as ugly as you. I'll be damned if that isn't you Gren! How the hell did you trick these humans into letting a poor excuse of a faunus into Beacon?"

Gren turned down his music and looked at his old associate Grane, standing up to greet him with arms wide open. "With the deadliest weapon known to man: Paperwork. Haa ha ha ha! Grane fucking Blauer! They finally deport your ass? Where've you been man, why haven't you contacted me? They don't got internet in Vacuo or something?" Gren walked over to Grane, reaching out to clasp his hand. The all too familiar smell of booze lingered on Grane, even if he hasn't had a drop to drink yet.

Kuhaku Shiro - History Class

Staring at Sepia with a blank expression and dead eyes, he tried his best to maintain a 'I'm not amused' face. He was unable to hold it for long and burst out laughing. "Oh, come on. Now you're just patronizing me!" He decided to play along, doing an odd bow in his seat. "And good day to you, m'lady! Hmm! Yes, indeed! Please to make your acquaintance once more! 'Tis truly delightful to be prattling on and so forth with a lovely lady such as yourself!" He laughed again, easily amused.

He was taken by surprise when Sepia posed an interesting question to him, seemingly at random. "What, are you doing some kind of documentary on the students of Beacon? Some sort of expose into the daily lives of a Hunter-in-training?" He teased, lightly tapping her knee with his knuckle. "Well, while your question was kind of out of nowhere..." Shiro's gold eyes slowly scanned around the classroom. Gren apparently knew one of the new transfers into Beacon. Other students were coming in last minute and taking seats next to their friends, chatting with one another. Smiling warmly, Shiro crossed his arms over his desk and rested his head on them. "I'd have to say just being around other friendly people. Getting to know them and just hanging out. Enjoying our youth. Sounds corny, I know. Like my 'joke' from earlier. But really..." Shiro shrugged. "Really, that's one of my favorite things. Just getting to know people and making new bonds. Y'know?" Shiro turned his head, locking eye contact with Sepia. "What about you? Since you've asked me that question, it's my turn. The ball is now in your court. Tables turned on you, Miss Sepia. What's your favorite about Beacon?" He tilted his head slightly out of curious habit.

Jack Orpheus | History Class

He was visibly more eager for history than he was for math. He wasn't absolutely jovial, but it looked like he had some genuine interest in history. Not to mention this was probably one of his favourite teachers here, which said a lot for him probably. In any case, he seated himself into a comfortable spot while the other students spoke among themselves. They mentioned a favourite about Beacon... He wondered to himself, what would that be...?

"I like the food. It's a lot better than where I come from", he burst in. Class hadn't seemed to start yet, and he didn't say any of his team members yet, so why not pass the time.

Varius Gilver | Aura Control Class

A new class they had to take in the second year. Aura control. Something Varius was incredibly familiar with, in fact he applied this already throughout his entire first year, so concentrating the aura to a point and repel was already natural to him, his silver aura reaching his finger tips in a rhythm. Yes, he could feel his grasp over it... Though despite this, the explanation from this teacher told him that he was only on the tip of the iceberg when it came to aura. He can control and concentrate it with great skill sure... but he had yet to achieve turning it into his own unique element... He wondered what that would be. Lightning? Steel? Wind perhaps...? These were the only things he could properly identify himself using, but as required by the class, he now needed a partner... He looked around. So far there was Jasmine, and then his team members, but Jasmine seemed to be the only one who was ready, so he approached her.

"Shall we?", he asked, presenting a hand over to her in invitation. Despite the gesture, his face was all business, then again... Rarely did people see his scowl change to anything else.

Luke Schwarz -- Not Dead

Walking into class, Luke grabbed himself an empty seat, Jack and the oddly teamless Sangue nearby. Seemed like the former was actually looking forward for this class, while the latter...

Well, to start with, she's awake.

So, history...

Tearing out a fresh new sheet of paper from his notebook, he idly flipped his pencil as he waited for class to start, content to allow his mind to wander in the spare bit of free time left in passing period. History was taught by Professor Oobleck, who he'd heard (from multiple sources) to be an eccentric man to say the least, at times hard to follow, albeit entertaining. Had a penchant for coffee, to an almost worrying degree, unmistakably dark green, wild hair standing on end...

Looks like he's not here yet.

Well. "Eccentric", I suppose.

Then again, eccentricity was a relative term. He was a fairly quirky young man in his own right, let alone a certain foxy--

Heh.

--teammate of his that he... hadn't seen since first period.
