If that is what your character respects and finds calming to be around, while I would question your character's stability, I wouldn't question the form itself. Grey's appearance is based entirely off the individual looking at it, but it is always something the viewer finds calming, respectable, or appealing on an emotional level. That appearance is unique to the individual viewer, and as such no one else ever sees what you see.

@SpawnlingPreemptive question about dorms, before they come into the scene- To what degree are they customised for comfort, as opposed to necessity? What expenses were taken preparing them? For example, a vampire might not need much more than a garlic-free windowless room with a wooden coffin, but they would probably prefer a stone sarcophagus and at least one chandelier (running from stereotypes, anyway).

Your needs are met within a reasonable measure, but price is a factor. A vampire will be put in a room that has no windows, and is furnished much like a regular room, but their coffin would probably be plywood painted black with a cotton padded interior. Not uncomfortable, but affordable.

I'll use your character as an example: She's tall, but humanoid. As such, her bed will be much longer than others, to allow enough space to comfortably lay out on it. However, her desk or cabinets would be regular, as it doesn't actively hinder her well-being if she has to stoop to get things.

The dragons here would get larger rooms, but that is a matter of size, not necessarily comfort. They themselves may find the rooms still rather small, much like a college student would find their room to be small. It suits their needs, but it's far from lavish. Furniture are stock bulk items, generic with only minor modifications as needed. Curtains are basic cloth, everything is a neutral color. Those with wings would not have ceiling fans as the risk of having them injured when stretching would be too high.

The only exception to this is the bathrooms. The baths are VERY large, with oversized showers and actual tubs, that are well maintained. A variety of toilets as well for different anatomy requirements. This is because it's related to hygiene and thus the health of the student.

A good rule of thumb is assume it's cheap, but works. If it's something that would put a strain on the character's health *physical, emotional, or mental* then it's probably a much higher quality than one would expect.

I should probably mention, you guys are NOT the only exchange students, so there's a lot of other species running around.

Anyway, as I'm filling out my headcanon of Tamoanchan (star demon heaven) I'm holding on to a few ideas for future notice and cohesiveness, one of which is that since there's no sun in there and there isn't a religion based on fuelling the gods with sacrifices anymore, native species get at least part of their energy from stargazing- Which is why tzitzimitl (and probably other species) have so many eyes. So I think the only unusual request Malinal will be having is a particularly large window or skylight to soak up them rays.

Side note, for fun: The fact that tzitzimitl seem capable of eating humans, but not reliant on it, and used to visit Earth with human heart jewellery already equipped, opens up the idea that in addition to a sunless nebula realm with fauna and flora sporting dozens of eyes, human organs actually grow there somehow like flowers. Probably on trees structured like human limbs. Definitely my preferred explanation. Reminds me of the game Yume Nikki.

A skylight should suit those needs for stargazing.

Does anyone else have special requirements for their living conditions that they're unsure about or would like clarification? Note that things like "Bubbling hot tubs of magma" are out of the question, you'll need to make do without those.

My post will have to wait until after I get back from work, due to my computer deciding to crash while I was typing it up. Luckily it kept what I did have typed up but I still apologize for the delay.

I'm also a touch late due to circumstances beyond my control, but I'm finally in, so yay!

For the record, I use the colored text to denote a different language being spoken rather then a different character, I hope that's not too confusing for anyone.
