In the land of Evania lived three races: the humans, the griffins and the djinns. The peace could not last forever in the land without a proper voice that could unite them, and so they succumbed to warring and feuding due to their differences, seeing each other as nothing but monsters to be enslaved and killed. Villages were razed and cities were sacked in the name of one of three flags, and the people begged for an end to the destruction, no matter what cost. This attracted a powerful being who granted this wish; he conquered the land for his own and corrupted the hearts of it's citizens. He came to be known throughout the newly-formed kingdom as Kaaos, the Overlord of Discord and Disharmony.
The land suffered long under his twisted rule and macabre sense of humor, with no chance to fight back against his dominance. Consequently, an underground movement was formed to overthrow the mad king. For years the resistance searched for an answer to overcome Kaaos' malice, until fate gave them a chance in the form of a scripture from the ancient times:
"When brother lifts blade on brother, chaos has taken the world, and ye children of the sky, earth and ether cry tears of grief, look up towards The Sun and The Moon, and pray for their guidance. In their grasp lie the power of The Primal Elementals, which can bring forth a new era of divinity."
Now it is up to the resistance to summon The Sun and The Moon, and bring an end to the Age of Kaaos. That is where you come in; you are to be the newest recruits of this resistance, and have found a letter in your possessions:
Meet me at the Drunken Dragon Inn. To get in the back room say "Begin Again" to the bartender.
There are matters we need to discuss.
A friend.

Races:
Out of the three races, the humans are the most numerous, and the most spread out over the land of Evania. Though they lack the djinn's understanding of the greater mysteries or the griffin's ability of flight, humans are the strongest and most adaptable people, able to master the way of the sword or the staff when they dedicate themselves to it. They can make crops grow and livestock multiply through sheer perseverance and willpower, something even the djinns have yet to fully understand.
Their culture resembles the late middle ages of Europe, and were about to step into the renaissance when Kaaos intervened. In ancient times, the humans were the ones who stood as the middle ground between the savage nature of the griffins and the analytical coldness of the djinns, mediating and trading with them until they were also caught up in the hate and cruelty, and enslaved djinns and griffins for their entertainment.

The griffins are a proud, if simpleminded, race. They call themselves Avians and live in Greek-inspired cloud cities high in the sky; this is made possible by their limited control over weather, granting them the ability to spin and form storms, manipulate clouds, stand on them, and even kick them to cause rain and lightning. They are a warlike and bloodthirsty people, more eager to start a conflict than to resolve one, and take offense easily.
Their society used to run on slavery and captured humans and djinns to sell and to keep as servants. However, nowadays only rare caravans and black markets continue the outlawed tradition. Due to their hollow bones, they use their agility rather than their strength in combat, and some of them may even use the weather itself as a weapon.

The djinns are a curious race, uncommonly found outside the southern deserts and the insides of mountains. Their most distinguishing feature is their lack of arms, leaving them useless in physical combat. They compensate for this weakness with their strong magic, allowing them to kinetically manipulate small objects as if they had hands. In addition to this basic magic, every djinn is specialized in a certain type of magic, whether it is healing, offensive, or anything else this logical people can dedicate themselves to learn and study. Another unique physical trait of the race is their swirling, smoke-like skin that is most apparent when casting magic, causing it to twist and glow in color. Due to this, most Djinn choose to wear clothing that cover their entire bodies, like heavy robes and cloaks, in order to both hide their magic casting, and to more easily socialize with the other races who find their uncovered forms unnerving or even monstrous.
They are a highly intelligent race, and have made leaps in technological advancement other races see as but an extension of their arcane mastery, such as magical automatons and steam engines. They have culturally already achieved the age of renaissance, some of them dedicating themselves to the arts and becoming enlightened. However, while they can outwit others by talking to them, they have difficulty expressing empathy, and tend to view the other two races as inferior beings to be used; there have even been records of them capturing griffins and humans and subjecting them to scientific and magical experiments, a rumored source for some of the monsters in the land.

1. Please wait for at least two posts before making a new post.
2. You are required to post once a week once the RP starts. If you need to be absent for a while due to real-life issues or anything else, please inform in the thread or through a PM so I'll know. Thank you for being a cool guy.
3. Half-breeds are allowed, but they will be considerably inferior to the main 3 races.
4. I reserve the right to override any post made.
5. Usage of human weapons as a griffin requires either: a physical strap to hold the weapon in place or a spell of possession. Use of weapons otherwise incurs a penalty for griffins using non-griffin weapons. An exception is made for long-handled weapons such as spears, which may be handled without penalty.
6. I may throw dice for any actions or events that I see fit for luck to have judgement over. See the Dice Table below for reference.
7. Humans get a natural +1 modifier to any physical action they take, while griffins and djinns get a +1 to agility checks and speech checks, respectively.
8. Unconscious, petrified, dead or otherwise disabled characters can choose another player's character and declare to inspire him/her, giving the character's next roll +1.
This can done once every round (every time I post).
9. Have fun, and ask me if there's anything on your mind.
