I figured we'd get our butts handed to us cause most of us don't know how to fight with our magical girl powers. Sure Chikage could likely kick the ass of most of the boys at her school, but she's still a grunt compared to say, one of the more experienced wrestlers in her league. Heck even in her division she's not even the strongest. Frog from the pond heading to the ocean, as it were. Least of all against the baddies we may end up facing at first.
Ok, but you'll be the truly last people that I'll accept on this RP.
From now on applications are officially closed.
I'm sorry for that, but if more persons join there will be no cards left to use as enemies. Anyone that's on that list can still present/edit/whatever a CS before I place the OOC online.
Counting with us three GMs: @TheWindel, @Spriggs27 and I, the number of used cards will be 12, leaving ten other potential villainous cards. I'll be giving a final inspection and ok on the already posted CSs after I get back from college, probably. Until then, do your best.
Personality: Because of the magic of the Sun card she recived, Nellphaline has accuired a second soul that prefers to go by the name of Saryn, she acts as the eclipse to Nelly’s bright and sunny disposition. Nelly can be best described as the warmth people want to feel when they're down, in the form of a hug or just general acts of kindness, if someone needs something and Nelly has it she’s more than willing to share even if she doesn’t have it she’ll attempt to go out and search for it. Always a cheerful optimist working through depression, loneliness and all of life's problems with a ‘glass half full’ kind of fashion in a way that almost feels outright obnoxious.
Saryn is a different story from the regular Nelly but unless a person has spent a good amount of time with both one wouldn’t notice the change. Sayrn mimics Nelly’s personality almost flawlessly the only real change is the thing that motivates her, while the real Nelly will help out of kindness Sayrn on the other hand seeks reward. On the outside Saryn copies Nelly on the inside she is easily irritated by the problems of others and can come across as extremely loathing to her peers.
Nelly and Saryn will swap places with one another at random intervals, usually if one or the other falls asleep, Saryn is most likely to step in if Nelly isn’t emotionally capable of handling the situation if the glass is completely empty for whatever reason. Sayrn will sometimes release her dominance over the body out of convenience.

Sayrn will sometimes release her dominance over the body out of convenience.
Background:
It’s completely unclear who exactly was the original personality, because Nelly’s name is similar to the name given to the body born it’s usually just easier to assume Nelly came first. The name Nellphaline wasn’t given to her by her birthmother as she abandoned the baby in a basket somewhere in the middle of the street, a rather unlucky beginning for a child who was unwillingly brought into this world. Fortune would smile on the infant when she was picked up by a young woman who adopted the child, gave her a house and food even a name albeit a very unorthodox name.
Growing up was decent enough her mom wasn’t the richest person in the world, but she was a hard worker and very loving, Nellphaline who didn’t know this woman wasn’t actually her mom looked up to her like a child would its parent and learned from her. Her mom always strives to be more than she was the day before, getting up early every morning and attempted to better herself and become a good role model for her adoptive daughter this kind and caring approach to child raising laid the foundation for the personality known now as Nelly, but her mostly self-motivated reward driven approach to life also helped bring Sayrn into the world however both were still apart of one whole.
The split between Nelly and Sayrn didn’t actually happen until their mom took deathly ill and Nellphaline was taken away as she wasn’t seen fit to take care of a child anymore. Now that she was away from her parent and living in an orphanage was very lonely, her kind personality was often times taken advantage of by the other kids so she would feel used or abandoned when lying in bed at night hoping her mother would get better; it was on such a night that Nellphaline’s psyche split in two giving birth to Nelly and Sayrn on one way she would never be lonely again and Sayrn could take care of the harder things while Nelly continued to strive for a brighter future in peace while maintaining her innocence.
Powers Card: XVII – The Sun (Right-side up is Nelly, Upside-down is Saryn) the constant flipping and rotation of the card changes depending on the personality that is dominant at the time and because of this her skills take on different yet similar effects. Being both the savior and the taker they can be a truly helpful asset when used properly.
Aura of Preservation / Vampire Link: When Nelly is in control she passively has a warm presence that protects and rejuvenates her friends and allies, healing minor wounds, restoring stamina and giving an overall sense of comfort. The shield will absorb a good amount of incoming damage and transfer that energy to become a slightly stronger shield, however if those shields were to break all damage received is reflected upon Nelly while her allies remain untouched.
Saryn isn’t as giving as Nelly is and it shows with this skill she dubed the Vampire linked, when she makes direct physical contact with an enemy or ally she creates a magical link being herself and them. During regular intervals Saryn will absorb health and energy from the afflicted victim but if shes connected to a friend or ally the drain has a cap and will sever itself from said friend. When the link is completed Saryn will receive a stronger shield than Nelly but only to herself that will heal her body faster as well as transfer all damage dealt to her onto the linked target unless its an ally in which case it will slightly buff them making them physically stronger.
Illumination / Fire of creation: Nelly’s illumination shines brilliantly through even the deepest darkness, lighting the way and even canceling out most minor illusions granting ‘true sight’ to allies around her, the initial wave can even exorcise lesser demons. The true sight only lasts for five minutes while the light can last as long as Nelly needs it.
Saryn possess the holy white flame that can has the potential to purge evil in just about any form it exists in however Saryn can not control it and her own personality can actually taint the fire turning it into a Blighted flame something that can harm herself, friends and foes alike; when this starts to happen Nelly will more that likely force a switch to cancel the ability out herself.
Skills: Nelly is an amazing cook a little of her warmth and love can be felt throughout a person’s body in every bite she loves to sew and knit creating great looking cosplay costumes from little to nothing. Sayrn can be seductive and manipulative for her age the silver tongue she possesses has gotten her way on many occasions.
Weapons: Nelly can summon a silver bell that blesses all allies around her in need making them faster, stronger and more resilient, all enemies in the nearby area are slowed greatly. This blessing runs out very quickly and the weapons ability can only be used three times a day.
Sayrn has her own weapon where she can summon a chain scythe where the other end contains a lantern, the chain itself can be extended through magic and the scythe itself acts as an extension for her Link ability, the lantern helps her control the holy fire but costs a lot more mana to maintain.
Equipment: None
Other: If Nelly and Saryn switch in the middle of a fight while one of their abilities is active it will remain active for three minutes and stack on the other personalities current abilities allowing Vampire link and Aura of Preservation to be combined for a short time.
...I should probably just say this now, um, but due to certain things that happened lately which I'm not exactly over yet I'd kind of feel far too uncomfortable playing alongside Noxx's character to take part if they got in. Just... A little too close for comfort and that's all I'll say.
Don't want to tread on anyone's toes though so if you really want to go with that then I'll quietly step out. Sorry for the bother.
Not sure I personally understand entirely....sorry I'm a little erm slow. Does she just hit to close to home with one of her abilities or personality persay because I'm fine with tweaking her a bit so you're comfortable
It's the whole dissociative personality thing, which... Is really a huge part of the whole character which is also why I'm offering to just step down I guess. Um, sorry about all this. Really don't want to go into detail about the whole thing but um yeah.
I'm actually not certain what the Judgement Arcana is like. I just sort of assumed it as "A powerful, one shot" sort of thing, but I can't really tell the pros or cons. By the trope's page it seems like what you'd need to make a final attack, which may be how her powers would ultimately manifest itself once Chikage gets a hang of it.
i would really like to work something out....idk I'm just a wee bit attached to her now....Errm i mean i really don't wanna seem inconsiderate or just mean....
Would there be any way to do it that's, um, not a real life mental illness?
Fairly certain that's the issue here, and besides, it can be kind of difficult to respectfully handle real life mental illnesses in terms of writing them. That's why I tend to avoid giving an actual name to any condition I give a character so I'm not accidentally being pretty terrible to some people by messing it up.
I mean, this might be a stretch, but maybe one side is like a ghost or magical being in her body or something if you want to play a character with two personalities?
Alternatively, simply don't make it a mental illness. A mental illness like DiD would be implied there's something wrong with you (and there may be). That being said, you don't need DiD to be a crazy person; let the coats label you however they want, fact is psychological science is tough to pin down since some people are just cray-cray without consistent facts or cures.
Though I'd also take into account a willing suspension of disbelief when it comes to emulating real life dieseases the same way I would with skills: just because you lack the knowledge or experience of the subject matter doesn't bar you from attempting to emulate it. You'll be wrong, likely, but that implies there's a "Correct" way to say, be mentally disturbed.
I gotta admit that from all the characters up to now, Chiharu is one of those that fit the mood the most. The typical mahou shoujo heroine, I'd say.
Her power as well is good, especially if she discovers that it doesn't comes solely from the card, later on. I'm waiting to see that Precure-ish Kamehamehadoken make its debut, 'cause I know that's what you must be planning.
Another good one, though I'd say that she looks a tad too old for her age. Maybe, it's just the muscles? I don't know. Nevertheless, I like her so you can keep her the way she's.
And this, must be my day, 'cause a Reiko popped up as well.
Then gain, a simple and good character, so I like her as well. Though, I have an opinion about your powers. I think that the first and third ones are heavily redundant, so you might as well combine them into a single telekinesis power. Aside from that, she's fine.
Another perfectly good character. I think, I've notice a pattern forming around now and am curious how things will go around with so many "ordinary" girls around, but that's what we are here to discover, right? Anyway, she's ok as well, so go for it.
Almost good as she's but there's a few things that I'd like to point. First, I 'd like you think of something for your "Lust" power. Mura already has the most diverse power set in the whole RP (though, I'm willing to allow it because of the 7 Sins theme), so power copying is one thing that doesn't seems fair for her to do, in my opinion.
Second, I don't think that a Japanese 15 years old girl should be knowledgeable about firearms without a good explanation. So, if you want to keep that aspect of her, I'd like to know how she would have access to something as regulated and restricted as guns are on Japan.
Well, well, well... where should I begin with this one, since I don't want to sound mean?
The best would be to say the truth, I guess. And it's that she's all wrong from the very beginning, with the lack of a family name. Though, I would like the double personality, if it was more like, hmm... say, Banba Mahiru/Shin-ya from Akuma no Riddle (mostly for fun) and not turn her into an antagonist character. Even then, a "bright side/eclipse" idea is good for a sun based character, so I'd like to see it done.
The real problem that I have is that your character brings too much dark undertones to the stroy with a plain backstabber half and those evil powers that shouldn't be part of her build at all, since I've been clarifying the tone of this RP for a little time now. So, I'd like you to fix those things before I can give your character the green light.
Lastly, I'll give a list of the taken Cards, just o clarify things even further:
I - The Magician;
VIII - Justice;
IX - The Hermit;
X - The Wheel of Fortune;
XI - Strength;
XII - The Hanged Man;
XIII - Death;
XV - The Devil;
XVIII - The Moon;
XIX - The Sun;
XX - Judgement.
As well as two more once @Kimiyosis and @liferusher (I'm still sorry bout forgetting you -.-") have made their choices. With this many players we will reach the second arc of the story way faster than I anticipated, which can actually be good, to say the truth.
For the time being that was all that I had to say,
