I find myself carting Viv for Knight Enchanter goodness, Blackwell or Cass (Iron Bull for dragon hunts) and either Sera/Varric for the ranged fun times. My canon!inquisitor is a dual weapon specialist, so I'm kind of stuck party comp wise. Sometimes I pop Dorian in my ranged rogue slot, but I don't have too much flex. I almost never use racist grandpa Solas or Cole. I adore Cole, but two melee rogues never works well on this character. I do love all mage parties tho, if only for the crazy awesome sass.

Haha, you play so strategically :P I just stick with Varric and Solas because I like the banter and imagine they've been friends for a while XD Does it really make a huge difference who you take with you?

My first playthrough was on Nightmare so it did matter a lot to me-- I needed to be Hella strategic to ensure survival. Now I'm just playing on casual, so I can enjoy story without giving a shit about combat.

Holy crap. That's some skill! That's awesome that you play on the hardest level first! Must make the second play through a breeze

Haha, it's fun! I am all about tactical RPGS -grabby hands- and yeah, I now have zero guilt about modding the game to high hell to breeze through the grinding bullshit *A* also now my Inquizibutt is super adorbs. I'll take some screenshots soon c:

That's probably why you enjoy Dragon Age so much ^^ I prefer stories and general RPGs XD You shouldn't ever feel guilty about modding a game :) some mods are amazing

Well, Dragon Age does have a soul consuming story, haha! I think it's because I grew up on games like Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale; they were isometric RPGs based on 2nd edition D&D, and the combat mechanics required a lot of pausing and manipulating the battlefield.

Dragon Age Origins still has that isometric feel, which was super awesome. Inquisition kind of does, if you use the tactical camera, but you can tell it's not very well implemented. I mean, Frostbite *is* a FPS engine, so it makes sense...I'm just old, haha. FPS gaming is tough for me, it's so twitchy and I can't keep up. Grandma here needs her pause button and time to read every single codex entry *A* I need the lore!!!

It's the games we grew with that have the biggest impact. I'm generally just bad at games simply because I spent most of my childhood playing Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon XD

Baldur's Gate looks like a weird cross between Heroes of Might and Magic III (onwards) and NeverWinter Nights ^^ Haha, I know what you mean. I used to play, albiet badly, turn based strategies simply because at least I had time to think and real time, whether FPS or otherwise, just doesn't give you time to think XD

I cannot count the number of hours I sunk into Rollercoaster Tycoon. So many. So, so many.

A lot of the staff from Baldurs Gate worked on NWN games as well! I loved those games, flaws and all. Still annoyed I couldn't romance Sand. Like, Bishop was amazing and all, but let's be real; cranky lawyer elf boyfriends 5ever.

But, ahhh! Mask of the Betrayer!! The soul eater mechanic was SO COOL!!! I really wanted that in Inquisition (and I guess Trespasser kind of developed something similar???? I have yet to play that dlc). SHADOWS OF THE UNDERDARK!! ♡A♡

Roller Coaster Tycoon is A-MAZING! Oh my god!

That would explain it the hahaha ^^ Hahahaha, to be honest, I wouldn't be suprised if someone hasn't made a mod for that, even if it's badly made and barely works ^^

Guessing you're excited then haha? I may have to give Inquisition another shot then, settle into it more ^^

I never saw a Sand mod--there was a Bishop romance mod that added additional content and let him not betray the shit out of you in the end, if I remember correctly!

I played the Trespasser and Descent DLC's for Inquisition while I was sick and wow, holy fuck, shit got real. Inquisition is worth playing, just for those.

Hahaha, maybe its worth giving it another go then XD
It was just the voices and repetitiveness that killed it for me. Maybe because I was comparing it to Skyrim ^^

How've you been anyway?

It's definitely different than Skyrim! I think my main complaint is the sense of grinding--I spent 20 hours in the Hinterlands during my first playthrough, because I'm an obsessive completionist, and a lot of those quests were just boring.

I've been better! I kind of got laid on my ass by my bipolar meds deciding to quit working. Of course it all happened once my husband left for his month of training, because my brain is awesome like that. I'm seeing my doc on wednesday and hopefully we can get me on something more effective.

How are you my dear?

There was definitely a sense of grinding. Especially if you tried to do every quest that appeared. It's probably what ruins it. I think as well, the serious low level that you are in the first area and the random high level enemies that appear. It's kind of annoying..

Awwh man, that sucks. Silly brain. I'm sure your doctor will be able to help, you'll come up something to help. I'm here if you need to gripe or you need company and I'm sure other people you talk to will be happy to keep you company too :) I hope you feel better soon. :)

Eh, I'm okay. Just tired. I got a kitten maybe 2/3 weeks ago now. She's lovely, so snuggly and sweet. She justs likes to run around all over the place and it's very annoying, especially at night after she's had her supper >.< Work is kind of hell at the moment, my boss has been changing things to the point of no return. He's working everyone into the ground and my Dad can't handle the stress at the moment and my boss doesn't see how stressed it's making everyone. So it kind of sucks, especially when you've got family working there... But other than that, I'm good, just tired.

Yeah, the Hinterlands are awful. Fuck those bears, seriously. And that FUCKING FADE RIFT WITH LIKE, LEVEL 14 BULLSHIT right next to the camp and the fucking wolf cavern. FUCK THAT RIFT IN PARTICULAR.

But yeah, it totally picks up if you just fight every instinct ingrained by years of gaming and ignore the stupid quests. I hope Dragon Age 4 is smaller and feels less empty, but that's not likely. -sigh-

Aw, thanks <3 Yeah, it's just summat that happens with bipolar, unfortunately. But it'll get fixed.

Awww, kitten!! PHOTOS. I NEED THEM. ;A; -lives vicariously through Dookie Nut- Kitttiess!

Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. :< I'm sorry hon! -hug-

Perhaps it will. We don't know for sure, but i know what you mean. I'm the same with the new Mass Effect. ME2 was perfect, ME3 was sublime until the end. The game lacked on so many levels, nessecary things like scanning planets became a chore and it just killed the franchise. It's the little things

I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon :) You've got your dog, your buddies online, and your husband even though he's not close :) We'll look after you :)

Thank you :) -hugs- it's just one of those things. When the company goes bust, he'll hopefully realise. It's way too much for the staff

Oh my goodness she is so cute! *A* <3 I wish I had a cat. Husbandito is like, deathly allergic, booo.

YES I TEN THOUSAND PERCENT AGREE WITH YOU. ME3 was so glorious and captivating and then...fucking space magic. All the things I could have forgiven in the game became aggravating, because it was like 'I did all this work to try and save the day as best as I could, and it all boils down to a colour coded ending where your choices don't really matter, wooo'.

<3 aww, thanks. I'm slowly improving. I just got some new meds, so hopefully these will stop my dizziness and help my brain even out again. Fingers crossed! My friendos have been super patient and lovely, I am utterly spoiled ;A; <3

It's a pity when leadership is shitty like that. >: It always seems to be the workers who have to bear the brunt of it. I hope things ease up!

@El Taco Taco

Hey, I'm sorry for not being around, not been doing great.

Have you played the altered ending? There was one which Bioware made to make fans happy but I don't think I've seen that one and I'm not even sure how different it is to the original.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Meds are the worst at times >.< Awwh, I'm sure no one minds waiting :)

It's okay, I disappeared without a word like a jerkbutt. I was spending time with husbandito and working on the house. He just went on deployment for most of the year, so I should be around more often.

Hope you're doing well <3 @TheDookieNut
