@Aristo

They did not steal land from the oppressed masses of Chalez!

Tushienia entered a land that had torn itself apart with civil war and brought order and safety for those residents that weren't activity trying to murder each other or the the Tushienia liberator forces. We would have spared revolutionary forces if they didn't keep trying to attack our forces for being lead by magic users.

Neither of us truly clarified whether they attacked first, only that you launched an attack against both.
Heck, the rebels probably would have been open to friendly intervention on their behalf, provided your role of magic within the government structure was not as domineering.
The rebellion was originally targeted at the sorcerer elite, and the fact that mundanes had no power whatsoever, but as the new government took hold, propaganda and radical movements extended that hostility toward offensive magic in general.
Some outside assistance against the mageocrats, even from rival mages, perhaps, would have been appreciated.

@Aristo

Oh. See, I was working under the assumption that the revolutionaries would have been thirsty for mage blood, regardless of whose it actually was and they would react badly to an invading army of magic users.

Honestly, Tushienia would have offered their three options to their province just like they are most likely to do for any province they invade. Accept Tushienia rule and be accepted as citizens, leave peacefully or fight us and die. Maybe a few extremist groups of rebels might have taken to attacking Tushienia forces and finding out why that was a bad idea, but any and all people who accepted the new management would have been just fine.

Only qualm I have is going in knowing next to nothing about our NPC neighbors, who we've presumably existed alongside and interacted with for ages.

Well I could do as if most of the knowledge about my neighbores was burned and destroyed together with the king. Also, I hope I got the production & research thing right.

@Romero It's probably a little too early to ask this but you said that there would be plenty of things added to research. I was wondering if I could make a few sugggestions?

@Legion02 I've got some ideas for new traits that will become available, but am always open to suggestions!

Monster taming – Through magic or breeding, you managed to bend captured monsters their will. Be it giant spiders, wargs, big boars or any other monstrosity that roams your lands. These creatures are fast as well as extremely savage. (Light Cavalry gets an advantage)

Mythological beast taming –(Requires monster taming) Creatures of myth now let you ride them into battle. These things are more than simple monsters. Such beasts may be Erymanthian Boar, a Manticore or a Direwolf. There are far harder to train, far stronger to us in combat and will destroy any fool who stand in their way. (Heavy cavalry gets an advantage)

Skyward creature taming – (Requires Mythological beast taming) Your people managed to capture and breed a free creature of the sky. Maybe it was a gryphon, or a wyvern. It doesn’t matter. What does are the vicious claws that are now at your disposal in the skies. (You can make Aerial Interceptors and Fasts without requiring the Dirigibles trait)

The result of some brainstorming.

@Legion02 I like the two cavalry ideas, letting people branch more into the fantastical as it were. And then there could be a technology parallel, such as steam horses etc.

As for the third suggestion, don't let everyone else know that dragons are coming
