Full Name: Artesa "Tesla" Jou or "Tess"

Age: 27

Race: Human

Appearance: Tess stands at 5' 10", topped with medium length auburn hair, usually in a ponytail, hanging over piercing hazel eyes. She has a lean, though capable, build of body, which shows signs of her chosen lifestyle, scrapes, scars, calluses, and such.

Personality: Tess is known for her good cheer...when she has a weapon in her hands, which is fairly often. Her can do, shoot first ask never attitude can land her in trouble, but thankfully she got on the lawful side of violence early on.

Characterized as a tomboy, she is used to the scrutiny her unusual hobbies and pastimes bring her way. Still, anyone who gets in the way of her or her goal is soon to face the full wrath of her impatience.

Despite a prickly attitude, Tesla possesses a dry wit and a loyalty which is hard to find. Ambition and determination saw here way to the position she has now, but has pushed away many would be friends, making her general impression a cold and focused one, characterized as a loner.

History: Tesla's past is a uncomfortable one, which she prefers not to share with others. Her family is a working one, her parents hold jobs doing template composition for droid chassis. They arent the best jobs, but it keeps them in their modest apartment.

Her one brother also tried getting a job under the same company, it wasnt for him however, so he did small jobs, occasionally disappearing for a few weeks. Whatever jobs he took though, money started pouring in.

From the beginning, Tess knew that she wasn't going to work in a factory. She had always been a tomboy, competing with her older brother and school mates. There was one natural choice, join Babylon's finest. She excelled, rose through the ranks, and finally was vetted and pulled into the BESC's Specialized Response and Tactics Unit. Shes been everywhere from battling pirates over water down near Edessa to hunting suspected assassins through ramshackle Tower Towns. She was good at her job and proud of it.

Until a particular call that is. She and her team were dispatched to a report of multiple gunshots, possible automatic weaponry and fatalities. Standard protocol dictates that all units responding to a scene with the possibility of multiple armed suspects are to establish a cordon and wait for air support before proceeding. Air support was slow in getting there, and one body was clearly visible from her holding position. The body of her brother, with bullets from a standard issue BESC carbine in his stomach. Once air support arrived, the area was cleared, no gunman found. Her brother had bled out in front of her, and she hadn't been able to do anything about it.

A series of events after that lead to her falling in with Darik, eventually uncovering her brothers murderer and joining Fracture.

She remains an officer in the SRTU to this day.

Occupation: SRTU Officer. Member of Fracture cell.

Weaponry:

Augments: ASIOS [Advanced Sensory Input/Output System] Includes implants in both the occipital lobe's primary visual cortex, the temporal lobe's primary auditory and superior temporal gyrus, as well as nano modifications of the neural dendrites in the central nervous system. In all, this results in the ability to process visual and auditory signals through an attached computer for recording and recognition, as well as decreased response time to stimuli. In addition, said computer can also input data directly to visual and auditory systems, allowing a overlay on visual without external equipment, and for audible communication to be patched directly into the brain, also without external equipment.

However, side effects can include internal hemorrhaging, malfunctions leading to hallucinations, increased possibility of Parkinsions and Fletchers Syndrome, and severe migraines.

Other: Artesa believes the advantages of being quick and flexible vastly outweigh the advantages of being heavily armed and armored. This being the case, she has trained in combat not only focusing on firearms, but also hand to hand and various non combat skills, name among them being a mode of movement with foundations in the long ago past art of parkour. She also values modularity in her tools, weapons, and skills, never hesitating to learn about something that might be handy later on.

I feel like we have too many rich people.

I don't think Arthur pays Gideon that much to be an Acolyte. :D

Robert is filthy rich. He will make it rain on more than one occasion. Speaking of which, what is the currency in Outremer and what do we call it?

The currency is the Babylon Sterling. It exists purely in credit so there are no notes or coins to speak of. Everybody has a card which contains all their life's earnings; most are activated by fingerprint and there are multiple failsafes to standard issues to prevent robbery. This card form has also been rumored to allow BESC to keep track on everyone's location and spending habits.

The Knight's Holy Cross is filthy rich aswell, but they're an entire orginization.
And Arthur is not the head of economy, someone beneath the High Priest is.

I like this idea. This would be a good way for BESC to keep tabs on ROC incase they tried to do some shady business. Is it safe to say that unregistered cards are often used when conducting illegal transactions then?

That'd be correct
Of course corporations don't use one credit card, that'd be silly. They use online banking basically, wiring money. I'd imagine BESC might have a handle on that too unless it was done carefully through specialized software or through lots of different hands.

A lot of corporations would use both legal and illegal means, I believe, however since Red Cross is the cover-up for the Knight's Holy Cross they'd probobly use both methods.

Siphran it seems your character's SRTU and Venator's Serious Crime Division overlap quite a lot, if we are both law enforcementy types perhaps we should merge these departments as they both seem to be top tier crime investigation.

Sounds good.

"I'm calling a departmental merger Ladies, Gentlemen, Aliens and Minds."

In other news, I've given the dangerous droids code names as you can see on the front page. BESC is very interested in seeing these robots destroyed because they all have sensitive information that dates back centuries. Very dark secrets about Babylon and BESC itself. Secrets that will help the adventurers on their eventual quest toward the main story-line's conclusion. They're offering a massive reward for the safe return of the droid's memory core without it being viewed or opened in any way. If the memories are tampered with (AKA if you've found out what the Rampant Minds have hidden away), it will ping up for BESC, even if you are miles away. You will forfeit your reward and they will want you dead, badly. Good luck to all those that try, these droids are not to be trifled with. You'll need a big team of people, equipment, vehicles and some serious weaponry to stand a chance against them. It may not look like it in the pictures, but most of these droids are massive. I'd imagine if they were found to be in the desert they'd hide by letting sand build up over them etc. I'll leave you guys to work out the particulars.

How it'll work is when you get close to killing one of the Droids, i will Private Message you the secret, which will most likely be in the form of a video log or data stream etc, you know the drill. Then you can work that whole segment into your RP post so that all your characters experience it when you approach the downed robot and access its memory core through a datapad. Gonna be hard work for me but totally worth it. Guys please let me know if something here doesn't make sense or you have any questions at all, i promise i won't bite...hard. (Austin Powers joke)

FYI, this is like a side agenda. Killing these droids is not compulsory in the slightest. Just thought it might be quite interesting.

Sounds good to me. Though I haven't heard anything about this Serious Crime Division. Perhaps I should explain more about the SRTU. There are mall cops, they call the police when things go wrong, the police call for more police when things go wrong, more police call SRTU when things go wrong. And past that, just hope that theres a military garrison nearby.

What did you have in mind for the Serious Crime Division? It sounds to be more on the investigation side of things.Though I could see the SRTU being a component of that.

True. It could also be the classic CIA/FBI feud situation.
