For the past couple of years, I've had all these rulebooks for the World of Darkness games sitting around. Countless attempts at starting a chronicle with real-life friends have failed. So now, I poke this community in hopes that I'm not the only one out there familiar with these stories.

If you're not familiar with White Wolf's works, then you probably won't be suited well to this RP. I won't be using the rules systems, but each character should be based off of the appropriate book's rules and I would like the world and story to have the same general feel. I am more knowledgeable about the 'Classic' games, particularly Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage.

I am trying to bring all those games and more together in one dark world, having members of the various societies interact, fight, make friends, find allies, and destroy each other. The setting (which I am still working on) is going to be plenty dark and gritty, with space for all these supernatural beasties. Everything would of course happen in and around (and under) one city, big enough to support at least a small population of every kind of monster and magicker. Think of the Chicago described in the Dresden Files if you've read them. College campus, a hospital or two, large police police force, nearby woodland, and massive underground mostly forgotten by humans.

My intention is to have one or two of each 'species' interact with the others in this world for good or ill, and see what comes of it. Of course, the Technocracy, Sabbat, and other questionable factions are welcome and expected to make their appearance, possibly even as player characters. Not everyone has to be a 'good guy' here. There will come a darkness that threatens to consume all, and original sides may not matter in the end.

I will want (at least) one co-GM who knows at least as much as me about the WoD universe. Other than that I'm looking for at least four players besides myself before I start on the OOC.

(Old interest check)

Any possibility for the presence of Sobek, the Crocodile God?

I think I will try to avoid the presence of deities, though they may have an influence on the world over the course of the story.

Not the literal god, as it would be if we were working Scion into this cluster. No, I mean the Settite Methuselah that has a small Typhonic Cult gathered around him.

I might just throw my hat in at this point to offer up my service as Co-GM. You might be able to tell that I know a couple of the things about the setting.

@Dead Cruiser So I had noticed, ehheh. If you still feel so inclined when/if things really get started, I would gladly accept you as Co-GM, and with my thanks.

@FateWeaver, I'm actually interested, but I want to play an nWoD Homebrew. Specifically, Princess: The Hopeful (which is better than it sounds).

If that isn't permitted, I want to be a Traditions Mage.

After some consideration, I have decided not to allow any homebrew archetypes. It simplifies things for me, and prevents me from having to read additional material. Also, since I do not know whether any Co-GMs I take on will be familiar with them, I have no desire to ask them to read additional material as well.

Also, I have decided that we will use the New Horizon Council Traditions. For those unaware of the changes from the original Traditions, they can be found in part near the bottom of this page.

(Thanks to @Letter Bee for the link)

Oh, I'd love to be a part of this! :) Mage: the Ascension is one of my favorite games of all time.

I have an idea for a universalist, a mystical Prime-focused Mage who respects the Council of Traditions, but isn't aligned with it (at the moment). More of an opponent of the Nephandi than the Technocrats, and infinitely interested in the Night-Folk (Vampires, Werewolves, Geists, Changelings, etc).

I like characters that can act as bridges between disparate groups... Maybe she can do that here?

I typically play a Gangrel in VtM games, but I might mix it up and try the other clan I typically test high for in Bloodlines... Malkavian. I just want to make sure I play and actual crazy vamp as opposed to the stereotypical "I'm so quirky which is somehow synonymous with insane! I'f I'm a guy, I'm gonna be Joker, but if I'm a girl then I guess you can call me Harley!"

Alright everyone, announcement time. I just got promoted, which means more hours, more work nights, and less free time. If that's not exciting enough, I also get to move in a little more than a week. Long story short, I don't have nearly as much time to devote to this as I would like.

What that means for you all; I'm sorry to say I will not be continuing this. I plan to bring it back bigger and better in the future, once I'm settled in and have had proper opportunity to prepare. This doesn't have to be the end for you guys. Feel free to take my baseline idea and make it your own. Honestly, it's not anything more than anyone here could come up with.

TL;DR: I suck, and life is conspiring against me. Sorry for getting you all hyped, but I must withdraw and regroup.

I'll be back, someday, and you'll see this title again. See you all around.

I am not giving up on this; I have my own idea:

Edit: Disclaimer - this is not canon-compliant with Dark Ages: Mage, due to the fact that I don't have that book. Expect me to make things up for areas where there isn't any available information.

------

Basically, I want to start a game based on Mage: The Ascension in the Dark Ages, long before the Traditions versus Order of Reason/Technocracy War and the OOC flamewars that proceed after it. Basically, I plan for it to be an 'open world' game, but with a much more restricted space, and more equal factions. War and open battle will also take a backseat to small-scale actions and intrigue, even if you're playing, say, Kaloyan of Bulgaria (You can't, by the way).

The area of interest will be Anatolia and the Balkans - or the Haemus Mountains - in the aftermath of the Fourth Crusade, or more specifically, after the Battle of Antioch on the Meander. You will be allowed to play from various Magical Factions:

- Vampires
- Werewolves
- Fae
- Magi (Craftmasons)
- Magi (Messianic Voices)
- Magi (Old Faith)
- Magi (Order of Hermes)
- Magi (Ahl-i-Batin)

As well as various Mundane Factions:

- Latin Empire of Constantinople
- Bulgaria
- Seljuk Sultanate of Rum
- Empire of Nicaea

Edit: Basic Character Sheet:

Name:
Appearance:
Age:
Sex:
Skills (Mundane Skills and Magical Ones; add Spheres here if you're a Mage):
Short bio:

If your character's a Mage (not a Vampire or Fae, but a Mage), distribute 14 points among the 9 Spheres; you can have up to Level 4:

Correspondence:
Entropy:
Forces:
Life:
Matter:
Mind:
Prime:
Spirit:
