Somehow, Humanity’s done it. After all the pain, all the disaster, and all the millennia of what seemed like meaningless suffering, humanity has finally reached the apex of its scientific development.
After the Nuclear Wars of 2045, the Reanimating Plague of 3001, the machine uprising of 3521, the Natural Redevelopment of 3821; humanity has pushed passed the numerous times it has been beaten down. They escaped the solar system, found ways of sustaining themselves on Mars and other planets, and their technology has only improved astronomically after friendly relations with extra terrestrial races.
Humans are the best they have ever been. Cybernetic implants and augmentation has never been safer; genetic modification has been revealed to be capable of curing chronic ailments that plagued humans for generations. Mech and Mecha have been developed in case it ever comes to interplanetary warfare with the far out galaxies that the United Galaxies fear. Even alien modification and symbiotic relationships with specific humans have proven beneficial.
Basically every Science Fiction novel you’ve ever read as a child has been achieved and more. Which leads into what is happening now.
In the Year 4040, tests have been sent out, and it has been discovered that earth’s radiation levels have finally faded away. The planet is ready for The RCD – Reorienting Climate Device to fix it and return Earth to the great planet it used to be. Sure, the planet itself has not forgotten the wounds inflicted upon it. Memories of warfare and survival cling to the planet like a moth-eaten curtain, but that can be fixed in time. Using the old New York as their base of operations (due to the number of buildings still standing and the admiration that history has for this cultural centre), the Human Union has sent a large group of humans and aliens alike back to Earth to be the First Recolonists. People of all kinds – from galactic royalty to reformed criminals to genius scientists – have boarded the three shuttles of several thousand people who are returning to re-establish culture and identity in this New City.
Or, maybe its for shadier purposes. Regardless of the developments made, no era is perfect, nor person free of sin. Several Cyberpunks believe that this government is just as corrupt as others, hiding things from the public eye and keeping secrets from its citizens. Perhaps some of these dangerous forces from years of old are waiting in the shadows to re-emerge.
With a device that can alter climate, New York has definitely become bright in the public eye recently. Others are admiring Earth for the work it put in to make this possible, while others want it for their own nefarious purposes.
Maybe you worry about that, maybe you don’t. There’s a city to be rebuilt after all, with plenty of opportunity to be shared between the Recolonists of the city.
With that, our sandbox is filled, and many roles available. Are you a human, alien, sentient machine, or something in the middle? What do you want to make of your time on this planet? Work with the device? Make a restaurant or start business? Maybe something else? New York 2.0 is your oyster for anything to happen in all your sci-fi dreams.
This is the Apex for humanity. Either we continue to soar higher, or plummet off the edge.
This is A Sci-Fi sandbox where anything goes and any possibility can become a story line. Feel free to explore, engage, and shape the world of New York 2.0.

3. This will be probably 14A or somewhere around there.
a. No explicit sex scenes, but violence will be allowed to some extents.
b. If you wish to explore a relationship more intimately, then feel free to explore that in PM if both sides are willing.
4.This is a pseudo-sandbox, so there are plenty of avenues to explore. Don’t be afraid to try new things.
5.GMs RedXCross and Write have final say where it matters.
