Summary:
- A tale of intrigue, brutality and secession within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and setting.
- Each player will take control of a 'Prime', their one-person character that acts as the central focus, as well as almost any number of NPC or 'Beta' characters; these are more expendable though, so don't get annoyed if someone kills them.
- Violence and so on is mandatory, but don't overdo it.
- Our tale takes place in the most up-to-date period of 40K time line, the beginnings of the 42nd Millennium.
- I do not require perfect grammar, nor character sheets as long as my arm, but what I do require is effort put into both CS's and IC posts. Keep them a decent – or above decent – length, and make sure spelling etc is up to snuff. Not hard with a Spell-checker.
- The Astartes (for those using them) are the best-of-the-best, but even they are ultimately mortal, so I want to see some grit and 'realism' in them – no marine running off on their own, no overkill, and so on.
- Morals ambiguity is par for the course, as is a whole swathe of 'grey' when it comes to almost everything in this RP.
- Follow the rules.

In Character Info:
It is the early years of the 42nd millenia, the Tau are planning expansion, the Necrons are awakening, and the God-Emperor is secretly fading away as his Golden Throne begins to fail.
Nevertheless, within the Imperium it is business as usual!
The Governor of the Gol'Kut system - named after the capital planet - has been lacking in his tithes to the Imperium for some time, and in a rash and perhaps foolish move has fully renounced his loyalty to the Emperor and all who serve him. Those planets closest to him, crushed as they were by overbearing Imperial tithes themselves, were more than ready to take up the cause of their more powerful neighbour, and so the Gol'Kut Consortium was formed as a mutual and defensive organisation against the expected backlash which the Impierum was certain to send.
This backlash, when it came, was somewhat weaker than first anticipated - a few hundred regiments of the Guard, a small Adeptus Soritas stike force, and an Imperial delegation - a classic underestimation of ones enemy.
The entire force was wiped out in a matter of weeks, few living to limp back into Imperial space and tell their tales to any who would listen.
Now a larger, better equipped and superior force, is being assembled to take a crusade headlong into the jaws of the enemy, and with it to re-establish control of the system or cleanse it utterly.
[More info will be given IC!]
Out of character info:
Welcome, one and all, to the grim darkness of the future where their is only war!
As players, you will be in command of the crusading forces, getting a choice ranging from an entire Guard regiment to a smaller but more formidable Astartes strike force detatched from their mother Chapter(s).
Know this though, that the enemy is not some crazed Chaos worshipping group of warbands, but a well armed and well organised - previously Imperial - collection of planets in a rather extensive system on the Imperium's fringe.
This will be a rather open RP, players making decisions that could affect the greater outcome of the crusade, but deciding as they see fit. Anything small will be left to the player, anything larger must be taken up with the GM (myself) or any appointed co-GM instead. Everyone will be getting objectives/directives and the like from me, Imperial HQ, although whether you follow them to the letter, in your own way, or at all is also up to the player.
Remember, everything you do will have a reaction, on both the Consortium and the crusading Imperials.
I expect everyone will have some knowledge of Warhammer 40K, but for those that might lack a little, I have always found warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Warhammer_.. and warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Deathwatch to be one of the best places to look. Just make certain that the information has a source, otherwise it is very likely fan made and therefore not canon.
