I... Don't see why this boils down to two questions, when one of those questions is completely irrelevant to the point we're all getting at, and the other is like a Congressional bill; a clear original intent that's been packaged with unrelated ride-alongs.

Frankly, I think you're trying to impose too much structure on this, @Lugubrious. There's no need to force everyone to be on the same page, or dealing with everything the same way. Ultimately, this stems from something Crimmy was trying to get at; RPGs don't have screen time, or audience attention to have to shift around. Everyone is an audience to what's relevant to their own character's view, and whatever past that they want to read.

There's no reason to boil everything down to strict ultimatums. Speaking as someone who runs a game much, much, much larger than this, you're looking at this all backasswards.

I don't exactly see the problem, and I don't even think there is a problem at all. I'm going to say is that myself personally have never had a problem with the slow posting. I've never seen it as a problem for anyone else too. Yeah, sometimes I delayed my team a bit, but generally almost the entire team has stayed, with jedly being the only exception, and Stein. At this point, many of the users in here are invested in this rp, so I doubt waiting a few days, or even a few weeks would really put them off. Even when we had slumps, or at least the ones I've been here for, people generally stayed. I don't see much point in change, but again, I am still partly new here, so take it as you will. I don't like rushing rps, but if you believe things need to change, I will not fight it. Just giving my opinion here, take it or ignore it.

If we must vote, I would reluctantly choose A, as it is the better of the two options.

Well, it's because I'm incompetent, clearly. I thought I was getting at what you all wanted; things that might help set this right. A good example of this might be that I just don't understand what you mean by people not being on the same page. If teams aren't on the same page, I'm thinking, how can they interact with one another?

I'd say something like I'm not one for self-pity at this point, but I really, really am. I feel like the scum of the earth. The realization I probably am makes me feel sick. I've just shown that I can't make competent arguments or decisions or do anything to help people. If someone smarter than me could just take over this mess I've made right now, please please do. I'd love to just sink back into the hedges and not have to think about this anymore. I have to get off the computer and go to sleep. I'm sorry for ruining everything.

Sorry if this is a potential double post, just wanted to respond to Lazo.

<Snipped quote by Lazo>

I'm totally fine with making the capture the fort mission a huge collaborative. Hell, I'll do that for all the missions if the players want to. I just stick with posting in the IC cause I feel that showing some life in the IC is healthy.

While I have no real objections and will completely support doing a Co-lab if thats what everyone else decides, I don't think it's really necessary for us anymore.

Before we were held back because we were waiting for someone who never came, but now that we have @Lazo we're going at a really nice steady pace. If a deadline is imposed and we don't have as much time I'll gladly jump on board, but ATM, I think we're fine going at our own pace.

So uh, what's wrong with just taking our time and getting the missions done at our own pace again?

I think we all need to take a chill pill here and relax.

I think it was to be a yes or no to both questions not a pick between them.

I think that we should eliminate two characters and set a character limit as a number, for example let's say sixteen or twenty, four or five teams. Everyone involved at the moment is free to stay but when people drop we don't accept new members until we're under that limit. I think eliminating the senior teams would also be a good idea because with the exception of Sarina who has serious ties to the lower grades none of us really give a damn about the seniors aside from those playing them as they rarely effect the first year students.

That said I don't really think that was the issue. In the Original Post of this RP it was stated:

Basically this roleplay will follow the story line of RWBY: Volume 1. With added emphasis on school life and training for the tournament, which will later be revealed in Vol. 2, the RP will revolve around character development and will be open to plot changes and ideas from everyone who participates. There is no real script you have to follow, this is just supposed to be really fun.
Original Post

I took this to mean that we would be taking our time and not rushing things and I believe that's what most people who logged in here understood. I don't think many of our members will become bored and leave if this gets a little slower and because of that I don't believe it will become stale. Of course if any players do drop out because it's a bit slow then do we really want them at all? I know myself, and the rest of Team Swansong as well as _ODE are dedicated to this RP and Priscilla and Trad even returned because this is such an enjoyable environment to be in. When it comes down to it we don't need more than seven members to keep this going though this is far more fun in a larger group. If we lose some people by slower down then so be it but I think that's the best course of action for this RP.

Lugu, I'll say it once and I'll say it a thousand times more: This is what you have your Co-GM's for. They'll help you out. That's what you have me for. I'll take care of things regardless if I'm suppose to or not (Cause taking over leadership unofficially is my MO). You gotta trust us a little, you know? Have faith in our loyalty and abilities. It's tough, considering our rough past, but the ones who are here now aren't going to give up just because of a little lull. We're made of sterner stuff than that.

Nobody's perfect. It's been a good ride, even if there were some bumps. I'd have left if I wasn't enjoying this. Really. Sometimes it's good to go a little slow, stop and smell the flowers.

I personally think and dont shoot me here that despite everything we all are getting our heads screwed on a bit tight but with that said I do agree with @Abillioncats we all need to take time and relax. I understand that with things as they are going are getting people a bit worked up but I dont see a problem with how things are now. Once again perhaps what this needs is not really time skip or what not but rather people taking itme to relax and focus on the main part. Right now there are missions going on how about we focus on getting those down now rather than worrying about everything at once?

I'm imagining you with a computer doing that.

The truth is that you are managing what, almost thirty of us? The inevitable fact is that you can't no matter what you do please all of us and you shouldn't have to. We are all more or less happy here, otherwise we would have left a long time ago. This is a really fun RP, one of the beset I've ever been involved with and one of the only ones that stays steady. You are not doing anything inordinately wrong, you're fair but firm about criteria for new comers, more than generous on time for those had have vanished, accommodating to those that wish to return. You're a very good GM in my books. All you need to do is give this RP time to be fun, to run all over the place and make some stupid mistakes. Let it grow up on its own and don't try to force the issue and we'll all do great. "Don't grow up too quickly, enjoy the freedom when you're young before you lose it." (Wanted to use a Peter Pan quote but couldn't find one applicable.) You're not doing anything inherently wrong. If you don't believe me just go back to the Contest Thread and read the Survey Responses. I wasn't the only one to say you're doing fine.

Because I didn't get to do it up there here it:

Normally, I take a very lax and chill approach to any leadership position I'm in. I tend to keep my mouth shut and sit quietly in the shadows until my voice is needed. But in all seriousness as one of the Co-GMs, I think what's occurring is that there's a fear this RP will somehow die. That it'll somehow die if a 'steady pace' isn't kept and deadlines and time skips have to be utilized for some reason to keep the blood pumping.

I understand that a lot of stress may be placed on Lugubrious' shoulders as the head GM. That Lugubrious wants this to be fun and entertaining for all parties involved or at least a majority of the people involved and doesn't want to see it fail. I'm sure we can all agree that Lugubrious wants everyone to be happy but not everyone can be pleased as an unfortunate fact. What I'm saying is I'm placing my lot in...

For nothing.

No deadlines.

No time skips.

Let things progress at their current pace.

If people happen to leave, then we will bid our sorrowful and fond farewells. Closing the game to new players because truthfully we have an excess of players to keep things going. I doubt we'll experience a mass exodus. What I'm saying is @Lugubrious, no telling you. Is to stop. Sit back. Relax. Have a general idea of where you want this story to go, but let things freely flow. Come in with a giant flaming hammer to handle any petty disputes with myself and @Prince of Seraphs to back you up and provide differing opinions, but let things run wild and naturally. Who can agree with me on this? Because what I'm seeing is an attempt to fix something that isn't broken. Yes, I understand that may allow this RP to be one the largest and longest running games in the Casual Roleplay category, but so what? Hell, that may allow some of us to become something akin to real digital pen pals. I already had an hours long gaming session in Bloodborne with @MULTI_MEDIA_MAN and it was by first name basis. It was fun, it felt real. Never heard the dude's voice before or chatted with him really, but through this game I made a new gaming buddy.

What say you all? Who agrees with me or can provide a better so-called 'solution' to this?

TL; DR = ANARCHY!!! -Raises pitchfork-
