Interacting With: Aunt Lou

As Everett entered the barn and shut the door behind him. He couldn't help but feel depressed. He felt like just sitting in his and stare out of the window. The last place he felt like being was at a party. If he wasn't reminded of it by Jay he never would have thought about it. The only reason he even agreed to it was just because he said he would… it sounded good though, right?

Maybe it was all a cover. Everett was scared, just like everyone else, if not more so. He just didn't want to admit it. He was alone for now, where it was safe to fall apart. He walked around the barns center aisle, outdoor string lights flowed loosely between the rafters. They lined the center aisle, leading the eye to very specific stall that has been gone over with a fine tooth comb, cleaned to perfection. Inside the stall was a brand new thick bed of hay, so gold in color it was almost yellow.

On top of that, sat a blue and white quilted blanket. Stitched together by hand, each and every patch on the blanket had meaning, though the only people who knew for sure were in the ground.

Next to the blanket was a vase filled with wildflowers of different colors and sizes. Reds, violets, golds, whites all neatly placed in the vase. A small radio sat at the top corner of the stall on a shelf he had put in just for the occasion.

As Everett looked everything over, he became instantly disappointed with everything. Why would Nina want to spend a minute here? It's smells of animal and horse shit. His thoughts kept rolling over and over again, telling him how badly he has screwed up.

If the truth was know, the place was as clean as could be and smelled of fresh hay, the stall though it was minimalistic, was very quaint with a strong southern charm to it. Everett has wondered where all his confidence had gone and why he was suddenly so scared. Was it a fear of failure and rejection, or a fear of Nina? Were the two exclusive to each other?

An obsessive mind kept linking one bad thing to something else to something else. Even though they had nothing to do with each other Everett couldn't help but linking them. His obsessive mind had often been a great asset to him. As great of an asset it could be, it didn't take much to get the pendulum swinging the other way.

Just as everything was starting to get away from him, his phone rang. It was Aunt Lou, this day was about to get a lot better or worse. “BITCH, you best be outta that damn barn. And. Let me tell you more one thing little boy, you gonna fuck around and lose that girl.” Luella rebuked.

“It's times of trial that the real friend in you comes. Where you at?” Everett sassed.

“Seattle. You gonna make it? Today wasn't easy and it ain't over yet.” Luella asked

“Yeah, I'm good. Parties just getting started I got-” Everett was cut off.
“Boy you a lie!” Luella shouted. “Ain't nothing wrong with being scared. You ain't nothing but flesh and bone. Now what's wrong?” Luella asked in a much softer tone.

“Just a rough day Aunt Lou …. Hey how… How long would it take to sell off the land and rights?” Everett said in a tone that said he wasn't fond of the idea. Sell out wasn't he had ever wanted to do but the with the day's events it was starting to creep in his mind.

“I G-d son, was it that bad?” Luella asked with worry in her voice.

“I don't think… I don't wanna deal with this shit again.” He finally admitted.

“Alright, I guess I'll look into it. She wear that dress Everett?” Luella changed the subject for Everett's sake.
“I ain't seen her for a few hours now. I don't know.” He said knowing he was gonna regret the answer.

“Boy, listen to me know. Moses and Jesus playin golf. Moses steps up, hits a ball 250. Jesus steps up and hits the ball into the trees. Jesus looks up into the heavens, raises his arms, and the sky darkens. A thunder rings out, rain pours down, and a stream risen up. The ball floating on top finds its way into a fish. A bird flies down and takes the fish, drops it for a hole-in-one. Jesus turns to Moses just a smilin, and Moses says, 'Look. You wanna play golf or you wanna fuck around?” Luella told the story very excitedly.
“Cute story, it got a point?” Everett said not entertained by the story.

“You wanna get the girl or fuck around?” She stated sharply. “Come on Eileen.”

Everett wanted to argue that point, but she was right. It was that last comment that through him off. “Do what now?” He asked, not fully understanding what she was talking about.

“You get a good look at that girl, you start singing Come on Eileen.”Luella said half meaning it, half trying to get rise out of Everett.

“Is that right now.” Everett said finally cracking what could be could be a smile.
“Oh and Everett, don't get that girl knocked up.” Luella said laughing.

“Aye G-d. Love you bye.” Everett said smiling, finally a bit of laughter coming out.

Everett was feeling better, Aunt Lou always had that effect on him. Everett looked around and saw the horses, he quickly saddled a three of them and walked them out to the fenced area next to the barn.

Anyone want a ride!” Everett shouted as he turned the corner. The offer was open to pretty much anyone.

Once Everett dropped her and Ali off at the party, Kata thanked Everett for the ride. She had forgotten how long of a trip it would have been to walk up to the lodge from Alicia's house. She held her hand out to Ali and started heading towards where all the people were.
"Seems like only a few people have turned up huh? And almost no adults I can see so far... hmm... you still feel alright being here hon?" She turned to Ali, giving her girlfriend's hand a small squeeze.

Alicia took Katalina's hand and smiled at her girlfriend as she got out of Everett's car and smiled at him and thanked him for the ride up to the lodge, she was glad she still had his number and managed to text him. Alicia looked around there were a few cars parked outside but not that many as of yet. "I couldn't blame them for what happened earlier, though I'm sure that there will be more coming later." Alicia said as she gently squeezed Kat's hand lovingly. "I'm alright what about you, we could just go back home, if you want to?" Alicia asked looking into her girlfriend's eyes.

"I think we can stick it out here for a bit, but if things start getting a bit messy, we should head home. Just hopefully no one is planning on getting too sloshed to drink." Kata smiled as she looked at Ali and pulled her close. "Let's go join the others then."

As they walked towards the fire pit and the benches, Kata noticed both Ash and Nina walking over and waved to them. She didn't know Nina well, but it seemed right to wave. She also noticed Gerard and gave him a small nod. She did notice that Jade was not there yet. "Hmmm she must be on her way." She mused mostly to herself.

"I agree with you, once things get way to crazy we can head back." Alicia agreed as she followed behind Kat holding her hand tightly as they headed over towards the fire pit, she looked around seeing the lights were all set up. Alicia spotted Nina, Ash and Gerard and waved to the three of them, she knew Nina pretty well since they worked together at Simone's Gerard not that much as well as Ashton.

Alicia looked around for a spot to sit down and saw some chairs set up by the fire pit. "What do you want to do love?" Alicia asked.

Kata sat down next to Ali and paused in thought. "Doesn't seem like much is going on right now, but it does look like we're the first people to really arrive." She looked at the fire and paused again for a moment. "Do you want something to drink? I'll see if I can find something for us."

Alicia sat down looking down at the fire pit for a few seconds thinking about Rachel Lewis, then she quickly turned to look at her girlfriend and smiled softly. "I would love to have a drink." Alicia said softly as she held her hand and leaned in to give Kat a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Kata returned the kiss. "What kind of drink hon?"

Alicia smiled when Kat returned the kiss and leaned back thinking for a moment. "I dunno a beer I guess if there is any." Shrugging slightly.

"I'll see what they have." Kata got up and walked around a bit till she spotted a cooler near the fire. She opened in and grimaced a bit. She found the beer for Ali quickly, but had to dig her hand around a bit for a bottle of water. She wished she could have just used her power, but she figured in public like this, it would be ill advised. She eventually pulled out a bottle of water from all the way at the bottle of the cooler, and then walked over to Alicia. She handed the can of beer to her before sitting down and opening her water. "For you my lady, one can of beer."

Alicia watched as Kat got up and headed over towards the cooler, she stared at her girlfriend she was so happy to be with her. Alicia looked around some more as more people started to arrive, when Kat came back Alicia smiled gently taking the can of beer from Kat's hand. "Thank you my princess." Alicia said playfully as she opened the can, and looked down at it for a few seconds before taking a sip she never had beer before.

Katalina seemed to blush a bit when Ali called her princess. "Just hope you never have to go looking for me in a castle." She took a sip of water. "You okay hon?" She noticed Ali stare at the beer for a few moments.

"I wouldn't mind going up to the tower in a castle to save you from any kind of monster." Alicia grinned as she sipped more of the beer before setting it down on the ground and shrugged slightly. "Just the whole thing with Rachel earlier, it kind of feels weird going to a party just hours after she died is all." Alicia said looking at Katalina.

Kata giggled a bit and then sighed. "It does seem weird. I mean I know this was suppose to be a memorial thing but... doesn't seem like it anymore. I'm terrified to be honest. They said they put that man behind bars, but for it to start up again... I'm surprised that some people haven't just packed up and left town yet." She sipped her water and looked at the fire.

Alicia wrapped her arm over Katalina's shoulder and pulled her closely and gently ran her hand through Kat's red hair lovingly. "We have each other to keep us safe though." Alicia said reassuringly as she leaned down and took another drink of her beer.

Kata nodded and pulled Ali close and kissed her temple lightly. "That we do." She just hoped that would be enough to get them through the night.

Location: Tessa’s House -> Everett’s Party
Interacting With: Each Other

The alarm beeped letting everyone in the house know that the front door had been opened. Tessa made a distressed noise and then said in a hoarse whisper “My mom is home.”

Austin looked at her with widened eyes. ”Your mum?! Okay, stubborn-arse grandma with a serious case of ‘lighten up’ is fine, but your mum?! Why is she even here? Your grandma’s here, and she’s even more stubborn than my cat! There’s no need for her to be here, right?” He sighed, peeking round the corner. ”Do you know what her reaction will be to you having a boy here?”

“No idea, I’ve never done it before. She may be happy I’m talking to someone, or she may just freak out.” Tessa looked around the kitchen as if hoping to find a place to hide Austin. “Just act natural, and like we weren’t making out.” Her face turned a nice shade of red. They could hear the television get turned down a bit and some voices from the living room, as if Tessa’s mum and grandma were talking.

He brushed some hair out of Tessa’s face. ”Okay. Casual, then.” The teen picked up a cup and pretending as if he were helping out. Though, if Tessa’s face got any redder, he began to wonder if he might have to extinguish her.

“Tessa,” A higher pitched version of Tessa’s voice said as she entered the room. “And the strange boy.”

“His name is Austin mom.” Tessa said, her voice a bit tighter than it had been, but surprisingly calm considering. Austin gave a sheepish wave, then turned back to the glass and slowly filling it with water, sipping it. He finished it off, placing it back on the side.

”Hi. I’m Tessa’s friend. We, uh, just came over ‘ere to play some Splatoon. Ain’t that right, Tessa?” He gently patted her arm, almost scowling at himself - his accent always got more common when he was nervous.

“Yep.” Tessa nodded in agreement sipping at her own glass of water.

“Are you staying for dinner then Austin?” Mrs. Gray asked. Tessa almost choked on her water.

”I’ll be glad to, Mrs. Gray. I might have to phone my mum to tell her, though. She was expecting me home a couple of minutes ago. But she’ll be fine with me hanging out with Tessa.” He gave a bright smile, before slipping a hand into his suit jacket and pulling out his phone. He flicked through the contacts. ”Excuse me a second.” He said as he walked to the other side of the room.

Austin tapped his foot as he waited for his mother to pick up, the robotic tone of the ringing grating on his brain. He eventually heard the familiar ‘click’ as his mum picked up, and took a deep breath.

”Hey, mum! Sorry I’m not home yet, I’m just at Tessa’s. It’s alright if I stay for dinner, right?” He rolled his eyes as he heard the recipient chuckle.

“Of course Austin. But don’t get too energetic.”

He lowered his voice to a whisper. ”Muuum! She’s only just become my girlfriend! Why would I- no, nevermind, I don’t even want to talk about it. There’s only kissing right now, okay?”

“Ooooh, look at my boy being a big man. Go on, have fun!”

”Thanks, mum.” He said in an unenthusiastic tone, happily tapping the big red button. And they say those are bad in movies, he thought, before walking over to Tess and her mum again. ”Alrighty, I’m free to have lunch here.”

“Excellent. I’ll get started on it.” Mrs. Gray nodded and moved to the fridge. Tessa gave a Austin a relieved look behind her mother’s back. Then as if she remembered something her eyes got wide. She pulled out her phone and typed into it quickly, she passed the phone to Austin so he could read the message.

I forgot I need to talk to Mal tonight about something important.
Tessa’s Text

”Oh, okay. What’s up?” He whispered, an inquisitive glint in his eyes.

“My cousin, I think he needs an x-ray.” Tessa whispered back. “But his dad will flip.”

”Grant? And why will his dad flip?” Austin had to stop himself from shouting out loud. Tessa nodded.

“Mom, we’re going to go out to the shop, Austin hasn’t seen my work.” Tessa said loudly, her mom nodded, and Tessa took Austin’s hand leading him out the sliding glass door of the kitchen to the wood shop in the back yard. Once out there she took a deep breath. “It’s a long story, and not quite mine to tell, but let’s put it this way my Uncle is a dick.”

”Oh, right. So is… he the reason Grant needs an x-ray?”

Tessa’s face tightened and for a few quiet seconds she didn’t say anything, until finally she gave a small nod. “Yeah I think so. I don’t have any proof though.”

Austin’s face dropped. ”I’m sorry about that. The only dad I have just ignores me, not exactly the same as abuse. I wish I could be in Grant’s place instead of him…” He trailed off, looking into the distance. After a brief moment, he took a breath. ”He deserves better. Look, Tess, we need to call the police. A father shouldn’t be possibly breaking his son’s bones.”

“I agree. Believe me, but I don’t have proof, and it’s been an issue that everyone has ignored for a long time.” She took a deep breath. “I wish I could fix it, I do, but at this point I don’t know if there is enough proof, and Westly has too much power in the community. I’m hoping an x-ray will show a spiral fracture, and if it does that might be just enough proof against him.”

”We need to get him to a hospital. If we can get the proof, it won’t matter what his dad thinks anymore.”

“I agree.” Tessa pulled herself up onto the large working table in the middle of the shop. “On an entirely better note, welcome to my wood shop.”

”Awesome!” He looked around at all Tessa’s work in awe.

“Thank you.” She blushed a bit, but smiled.

He smiled back. ”Wish I could do stuff like this. Hey, we could like, join forces!” His face brightened. ”I could draw some of the figures you’ve made, and I can even draw up some sketches to help you with ideas! I’ll have to pull out my ‘old files’ from when I used to be good at drawing, y’know? Try to get my juices flowing and my hands working.” Tessa nodded along.

“That’s a brilliant idea. I’ve never been that great at drawing.” She pulled out her sketch book. “I can only ever just get the general idea of what I want, it’s never like it is in my head when I put it on paper.” She flipped to a page that showed one of the pieces on the table next to her. The sketch and the driftwood itself could have been done by different artists with how differently it turned out.

Austin looked the picture up and down, then the driftwood sculpture. ”I see what you mean now.” He chuckled. ”But don’t worry - loads of famous artists and the sort probably had buckets full of balls of paper; drafts that turned out crap. So, what do you say? Team?” The teen smiled at her.

“Team.” Tessa held out her hand for a shake. Austin took it, but pulled her towards him, leaning in and kissing her, using his leg to push the shop door closed.

The pair didn’t get much longer until there was a knock at the wood shop door and Tessa’s mum’s voice from outside the shop. “Dinner is ready. I made spaghetti.”

“Okay, be right there.”

Austin looked at her and smiled, before holding out his hand, for her to take it. ”Shall we?” Tessa took his hand.

“You ready for the most awkward family dinner of your life?” She asked as they stepped out of the shop.

”Eh, why the hell not.” He said with a goofy shrug. ”Have at it.” Inside the house, just to the left of the kitchen was the dining room table, already set for four people. Tessa’s grandmother was sitting at one end of the table, looking irritated, but that was to be expected. Mrs. Gray was bringing the pot of spaghetti into the dining room. She waved with her elbow toward a seat for Austin, which he eagerly sat in.

“Tessa, will you get the water pitcher?” Mrs. Gray asked her, Tessa nodded and pulled a pitcher of cold water from the fridge. Once everyone was sitting down, Mrs. Gray served the spaghetti.

”This is nice,” Austin said, politely taking his plate full of spaghetti. ”I’ve never really had the chance to have dinner at a friend’s before.”

“That’s unfortunate.” Mrs. Gray gave him a sympathetic look. “Okay, I’ll lead in prayer.” She held her hands out for Tessa and Austin to take. Tessa took one of her mom’s hands, and then held out her hand for her grandmother on the other side of her. Austin took Mrs. Gray’s hand, then (though quite reluctantly), Tess’ grandmother’s. “Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts, which we are about to receive from your bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

”Amen.” The British teen copied, the process having almost been embedded into him during primary school. It was all he could ever remember about assemblies - having a prayer at the end of every one, and repeating ‘amen’ in a robotic and unenthusiastic voice. Though, his voice was more lively this time, just in case Tessa’s grandma decided to say anything about his apparent lack of enthusiasm.

“Amen.” Tessa voiced, then for several minutes there was nothing but silence as everyone started eating. Finally, Tessa’s grandmother broke the silence.

“I saw you two coming in from the shop.” She said looking pointedly at Tessa.

“Yeah, I was showing him my stuff.” Tessa’s voice sounded nervous, as if someone had just decided to open the can full of worms and she was trying to stop them.

“Your stuff huh?” The old woman sneered.

“Yes, he hasn’t seen my art before.” Tessa was clearly trying to stay calm.

“I think that’s sweet.” Mrs. Gray cut in. Tessa’s chin lifted and an eyebrow raised. She looked at her mom confused. “That you are showing your friends your art, just be careful. I don’t want just anyone wandering around in our back yard.”

”Thank you, Mrs. Gray. I quite like Tessa’s art, actually. I never had the idea of creating things out of wood in the past. All I’ve ever done is drawn.” He smiled at Tessa from behind a fork-full of spaghetti.

“And I’ve never drawn all that much.” Tessa smiled back.

“Well, as long as you two won’t be drawing each other.” Tessa’s grandmother said.

Austin had to stop himself from choking on his spaghetti. He clearly wasn’t alone on that, as Tessa had to quickly take a sip of her water.

“That was crass mother.” Mrs. Gray said surprisingly calm.

“You’re trusting your daughter with some strange foreign boy.” The old woman seemed to have found her steam. “You know nothing about him, and that’s not easy in this damn town. There’s a killer out there all over again.” She looked at Austin as if he were the killer.

“Gran, first of all Austin was with me this morning when Rachel was killed, and second he didn’t even live here three years ago. You can’t seriously think he’s guilty.”

“No, not him, but a stranger to this town is guilty I’m sure of it. We’ve had them traipsing through here like it was a zoo for the last few years, why not?” She shrugged and seemed satisfied with her logic. Austin hurriedly swallowed down some more spaghetti.

”With all do respect, but if you don’t think I’m the killer, then I don’t really see the point in bringing it up.” He grabbed a glass and filled it with water, drowning it down like it was alcohol.

“You’re still a strange boy. It may have been a while since I had kids of my own, but neither of them ever ended up with strangers.”

“He can only be a stranger if you let him.” Tessa snapped. “And it’s not like ending up with someone you know saves you from danger. Do you ever really know someone?”

Austin’s eyebrows were now flicking between the two in wide-eyed surprise, though he did find it a little bit amusing that Tessa and her grandma were having a bitch fight. And, when he thought it couldn’t get any worse, with the two glaring daggers at each other, he performed the impossible - made it all worse. And do you know how? One, timid little voice cut through the silence like a knife. And all it said was: ”Ooh…”

The old woman shot a glare at Austin, his fate was sealed, she’d never like him now, that was plain enough to see. “You know people you lived with your whole life.”

“Bullshit.” Tessa said, mostly under her breath, but loud enough for everyone at the table to hear her.

“Tessa Lee Gray.” Mrs. Gray said sternly. Tessa flinched. “Watch your language. To your room now.” Tessa set down her fork and pushed herself away from the table.

“Sorry.” She mouthed at Austin, but didn’t say anything to her mother or grandma. Tessa walked out of the room without stomping, which must have been difficult.

Austin sighed, garnering more glares from Tessa’s grandma in the process. ”This spaghetti is, er, nice, Mrs. Gray.” He said awkwardly, missing out all the tee’s in the process.

“Thank you Austin, but you don’t have to stay here if you don’t want.” Mrs. Gray said sweetly.

“Or if you do want.” Tessa’s grandma added. She did at least look somewhat mollified by the glare Mrs. Gray sent her way.

”I think I’ll just finish up, yeah.” He said, finishing off his spaghetti and standing up, washing up the dish and fork in the sink. Once he was done, he dried them off and put them in their respected places. ”Thank you for the lovely comments on the various topics discussed,” He shot an ice cold expression at Tess’ grandma, completely void of all emotion. Then, with his lips curled into a sly smile, he added (with the same amount of coldness), ”If you ever want to talk again, don’t be a stranger.”

Satisfied, he stepped into the living room, grabbing his things and shooting Tess a quick text.

To: Tessa
Gonna head home now, after your grandma kindly saw me off. Cya later, yeah?

”Thanks again for lunch!” He called behind him, opening the door (setting off the robotic voice) and closing it behind him. With a groan, he headed off in the direction of nowhere, slowly increasing speed, before becoming a blur.

From: Tessa
Meet me at the corner.

He looked down at his buzzing phone, coming to a stop and reading the text.

To: Tessa
On my way. Be there in a Flash!

He chuckled to himself, turning direction and speeding off, a simple black and white streak running through the city. He made it home, running upstairs and changing into a more casual outfit, and grabbing his ‘just-in-case-I-get-super-bored’ backpack. Finally done, he sped back down and out, arriving at the corner. At first Tessa didn’t seem to be there, and then she spoke. With her words she appeared.

“Sorry about all of that.” She had changed as well, adding a jacket to her outfit. “Hope they didn’t scare you off.”

”No, it was more of a case of I had to leave, really. But I put that stubborn old mule in her place, I think.” Austin chuckled, recalling the events.

“So I don’t know how we’re supposed to get to Everett’s. I don’t know if you’re up for running the whole way there with me in tow. If not, I can see about getting a ride from someone. Maybe Jay.”

”Please!” He laughed, picking her up in his arms. ”It’ll take, like, ten seconds, or something, I don’t know, I’m not Einstein!” He chucked again as the world became a blur around them. ”Hey, just make sure you don’t puke. It can be disorienting.” Austin, of course, had gotten used to it, and his eyes adjusted to allow him to see clearly.

Tessa nodded, probably not trusting herself to speak, and buried her face into his shoulder. She held on tightly, catching her beanie before it was left behind.

Interacting with: Each other (Nina and Tessa), Austin @Wade Wilson, Ash @Undine

Tessa took a few steps toward the fire that Everett had apparently built. It looked fairly awesome. “Okay this might not be awful.” She said outloud to Austin. She looked around for Mal, but didn’t see him immediately. She did see Nina though, sitting with Ashton, Tessa gave her a wave.

Nina leaned over to Ashton and seemed to say something before getting up and walking over to Tessa and Austin. ”Hey Austin, hey Tess. How are you doing?”

“I’m doing well.” Tessa was smiling, and had a bit of red spreading on her face.

”Hey, Ashy! I’m doing alright.” He nudged Tess with a smile, before disappearing into the crowds with a childish grin, whispering, ”Ninja vanish!”

“You wanna talk?” Tessa asked, nodding away from the rest of the masses.

Nina nodded. ”Yeah, sounds good. I know a spot in the woods that’s good for this sorta thing.” She turned and looked at Tess before heading towards the woods.

“Today has been weird hasn’t it.” Tessa said as they walked further into the woods.

”You’re telling me. You didn’t… see anything did you?” Nina sounded a bit worried for a moment.

“No I didn’t. Despite my gran’s best efforts.” Tessa shook her head remembering how loud her grandma had been playing the news.

”Oh thank god for that then… Sooo you and Austin huh? Saw you arrived together. You are going to tell me everything, now.” Nina stopped walking and turned to look at Tess, with what looked like curiosity written all over her face.

“Yeah Austin and me.” Tessa blushed again, and held her hands against her cheeks to cool the heat burning through them. “Well we’ve been friends for a while, since he moved here almost. Play video games and such together. Today I asked him to Simone’s and well... I don’t know it just kind of happened. I went to kiss his cheek and accidently kissed his lips and then we went back to my house and played Splatoon.” She gave a shrug. “He’s sweet and he doesn’t look at me like... Like I’m the lesser choice.”

Nina seemed to bounce a bit as Tessa talked and let out a small squeak. ”Oh my gosh I’m so happy for you! I’ll admit I haven’t really had the chance to talk to him, but he seems nice. And you look happy too, and very red. It’s kinda cute. I gotta ask though, does he… y’know… have some talent like we do now?”

“Yeah he does, he can run at super speeds. It’s not easy on him, but he finds it great.” Tessa grinned at Nina. Her face was hurting from all the smiling she had done in the last few days. All together it was more smiling than she had done in well over a year. It was nice.

”So he’s like Quicksilver. That’s pretty cool. I mean, it seems like almost everyone I’ve talked to in the last few days got something.”

“I think he’d prefer Barry Allen, the Flash, over Quicksilver. Yeah, it’s crazy. I don’t know if we’ll be able to keep it under wraps if everyone got a power. How hilarious is it though, small town Washington suddenly full of people with superpowers. I was going to say superheroes, but clearly not all with powers are heroes. It’s also a bit scary. We don’t know who has what. I mean we only know a handful of the people who were in the astronomy meeting had powers.” Tessa shook her head, her smile gone now, it had been replaced by a fearful look. “And to think someone could be using their powers to... kill.”

Nina’s smile disappeared as Tessa switched the subject, and she bit her lip. Her hand reached into a pocket, and she pulled out what looked to be a lighter and started flipping it over in her hands. ”I really hope not, because that would be just sick. We went through enough last time and… I can’t do it. Not again. I’ve been saying that pretty much all day. I mean, when I saw what happened to Rachel, I just froze up. I don’t even remember getting back to my house. Apparently Everett dragged me off and brought Petyr with. We’re kinda crashing here tonight since Otec is out of town… but he’ll be coming home once he hears about it, I’m sure.”

Tessa was nodding along as Nina spoke, until she got to the part about Everett, then she frowned. “You know my place is always open for you too.” Tessa couldn’t be sure Nina would take the offer, especially with how distant they had become... how distant she had been recently. “I can’t do it either to be honest. I wish I could just leave this damn town.” Tessa wrapped her arms around herself. She watched Nina flick the lighter, of course she would carry a lighter, she needed a source of fire. It made Tessa wish she had a more offensive power.

”I’ll keep that in mind. Bratr isn’t exactly happy to be here. Says Everett is a loose cannon, and… I might be inclined to agree. I just, don’t know anymore. Everything is so confusing Tess. Between yesterday and today it feels like the world keeps getting tossed upside down.” Nina leaned up against a tree a little and seemed to pause in thought. ”I was talking with Ash earlier and what I said then is still how I think now. Kinda wish we could go back to Sunday when everything made sense.”

Tessa nodded. “Me too.” How could she tell Nina about the conversation she had had with Everett, and who was she to judge people on being unstable, god knew she was well practiced at being unstable. Maybe she’d let her ‘me too’ hang in the air between them unplaced in what Tessa was agreeing with. She’d let Nina decide what she was agreeing with. “I’ll be honest. I’m scared.”

”Same here. But we can’t just up and leave this place, now can we?” Nina flipped the lighter more in her hand a bit and let out a sigh. ”At least we’re talking again, so that’s a good thing, right?”

“Best thing to come out of this mess.” Tessa smiled. “Sorry for being such an ass.”

”Hey, I understand. Too many reminders yeah? But I still need my bestie at times, so don’t do that again, okay?”

“Promise.” Tessa held out her pinky finger. Nina hooked her own pinky finger with Tessa and then shook it.

”Promise.” Tessa and Nina turned and started back toward the party.

As the party went into full swing and all of the adults had gone back home, the music quickly started to get louder Alicia spotted Jade and smiled happy to see her friend finally make it. As the night went on Alicia had about four beers in her, and was tipsy by that point she spent the whole time pretty much with her girlfriend. Alicia even danced along with Jay, and Nina. Of course she also got a few gropes from Jade as she danced Alicia yelped slightly when King drunkenly pushed passed her and watched him running and stumbling out into the woods. "Watch were your running Dick King!" Alicia yelled loudly as she went back to dance with Katalina. Alicia was having the time of her life and she was glad that Jade had convinced her to go.

Alicia made out with Katalina quiet a few times as they danced with one another, when she was tired Alicia slipped away from Kat for a bit and went to talk with Alice and Grant. She would watch Jade seeing the party girl's antics which made her laugh seeing what she was doing and even watched her strip tease some of the guys. Alicia went towards a cooler to grab another bottle of beer, she held her hand just above the bottle cap and used her ability to bend the bottle cap and then it fell to the floor. Then she felt Jade bumping into her causing Alicia to drop her drink onto the ground and stumbled into her girlfriend. Alicia stopped looking at her best friend with a concerned look in her eyes, she was worried now for her when she suddenly yelled.

“STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!”

Alicia was about to reach out to Jade, that's when she felt the ground shaking violently she could even hear the ground starting to split she wasn't even sure why Jade suddenly turned this way. Then Jade stomped on the ground as the earth shook violently then before, this caused the teens at the party to become fearful they started to scatter and flee from the camp fire. Alicia wanted to calm her friend down, as teens started running Alicia was bumped and shoved as they ran for their lives. "Kat?, Kat where are you?!" Alicia yelled as she started to search for her girlfriend. Alicia was scared loosing her friend, she looked at Jade one last time before running away as well. Alicia continued to run further yelling out for Katalina.

As Alicia fled, then the lights went out making it nearly impossible for her to see anything even the small cracks in the ground the smaller once. As Alicia ran her right foot slipped into a small foot sized fissure, then came very loud and sickening 'crack' then came the incredible pain shooting up her whole leg. "FUCK!" Alicia yelled out in pain as she fell onto the ground, she lets out a loud cry in pain as she lifted up her right leg, seeing her ankle and foot bent in a very painful angle, quickly pulling away her pant leg seeing a very nasty looking bruise quickly forming. Alicia tried to stand up, only to feel more pain as she fell to the ground again Alicia looked around until she finally saw Katalina and Jay running. "Katalina, Jay over here!" Alicia said trying to wave and get their attention.

Katalina was in heaven! Sure there were a lot of drunk kids around, but here she was, getting to spend time with her new girlfriend, dancing, hanging out and making out. Sure partying was not her usual thing, but with Ali, she felt comfy. She also had the chance to catch up with some of her other friends, and meet a few new people as well.

The two hours seemed to fly by in a blur of talking, dancing and making out, and Kata needed a rest. Her headache was acting up a bit from the smoke of the fire, and something else. Something in her mind was buzzing, and she wasn't sure what was going on. She tried to push it out of her mind, but it was still there. This horrible lingering feeling that was gnawing at her. Her parents were sure to be upset at her, also Alicia's parents for sneaking out with her. She rubbed her temples and continued to drink more water as she watched.

All of a sudden Jade got up and started yelling. Kata was about to reassure the girl that she wasn't staring at her, but then the ground suddenly split, pushing Kata one way, far away. She fell onto the ground with a loud 'ouch' as her hands grazed along the rocks. She laid there for a moment before pushing herself up and looking around. The party was now in ruins, and a voice in the back of her mind was screaming at her to run. She looked around, realizing she had lost Alicia somewhere in the shuffle.

Panic filled her mind. Her girlfriend was somewhere, and she had no idea where Ali was. "ALI!!! Where are you!?" She brushed her hands off on her outfit, smearing them with the blood from her scratched up hands. She pushed through the woods, calling out for Ali and anyone else for a few moments before she heard Ali's voice ringing through the forest. "ALICIA!" She ran towards the sound of Ali's voice and found her girlfriend looking pained on the ground and ran over to her side.

"I'm here babe, oh my gosh what happened to you, let me see you." Kata kneeled down next to Alicia and looked her over, and noticed that her right leg was at a wrong angle and cursed silently. "Shit... you look hurt babe. C'mon, I'll carry you out of here..." She offered her arms to Alicia, hoping to carry her princess style out of the forest. But... to where? She didn't know yet.

The party was okay in Nina's mind. She got to talk with a few of her friends that she didn't get to see often due to work and catch up with some of them. Olivia looked happy with Grant, which was good. Nina was happy her friend had found someone, same with Alicia. There were quite a few new happy couples at this party, which caused Nina's good mood to slip a bit. Her own thoughts were scattered on various subjects, and while she wanted to be happy for her friends, she was still all mixed up from what had happened earlier that day. The image of Rachel haunted her, and quite honestly, all she wanted to do was curl up in a bed and cry alone.

She was barely paying attention when Jade got up and started yelling at everyone. Nina had gone off to get a bottle of water, since that was all she was drinking. She felt the earth shake and move under her and used a back handspring, (probably flashing someone her knickers) to get out of the way. She used a few old gymnastic moves to avoid the earth splitting around her. However, when it finished, she realized she was very alone.

"Petyr? Tess? Ash? Ev? Anyone? Someone?" As she cried out, she heard no answers. Fear filled her mind. She was alone, without anyone. "PETYR!? WHERE ARE YOU!?" Tears welled up in her eyes as she scanned around, and noticed people running into the forest. She took off after them, screaming for her brother. She ran as fast as her legs could take her, not noticing that her new dress was snagging and tearing.

After a moment she finally saw someone she knew and ran up and threw her arms around him. "Ash! Thank god I found you! I can't find my bother or Tess and I'm lost and I..." Tears ran down her cheeks as she clung to him and felt his arms around her. She didn't care how it looked, or about anything else. She had found a friend and she needed him more than ever in that moment.

Tessa Gray

Location: Wilcox Lodge -> The woods
Interacting with:

It was a normal party, Tessa assumed anyway, she had been to so few. Janice had been invited to more, and most of the time Tessa was invited along because who invites one twin and not the other? But that had been ages ago, and they had all been kids and people weren’t murdered in the five minutes you weren’t looking.

Tessa wasn’t going to be drinking, she did sometimes, but if she went home after this and her mom had realized she wasn’t up in her room playing Zelda; she’d be dead meat if she smelled like booze when she got home. Usually the loud music from one of her games kept her mom from bothering her; Tessa prayed it’d work this time too.

What she wanted to do was get Mal by himself. Not next to one of his friends, especially not King. Who looked ill or something. Maybe he really did have the ability to sense emotions. That had to be a useless power. Tessa glanced at King to where he was sitting talking to a teacher on a log that had been dragged over for the simple purpose of making better seating.

When the teacher left Mal joined King again. Ugh She’d never be able to talk to him. Fine She’d just talk to him next to King, that was the dumbest thing she could do, but she needed Mal’s help. Rather, Grant needed Mal’s dad’s help, but it was all the same in a town this small.

King stood up and ran off? Tessa stared as he ran into the woods. That made no sense, where he and Mal fighting? Then Jade was yelling. Hell Tessa wasn’t even looking in the girl’s general direction, why was she going off about people looking at her? Wasn’t the point of the slut act?

The earth shook.

Not just a little either. It was an earth wrenching rippling of an earthquake. Jade needed to calm down.

Tessa was knocked off her feet. A fissure opened where she had just been standing. It cracked further open. “Jesus.” Jade was gonna kill someone if she didn’t cut it out. Tessa scrambled to her feet, getting farther away from the fissure. She had no desire to fall into that. Any composure she had retained cracked wide open, as wide as the fissure appeared in her panicked state. She turned on the ball of her foot and ran into the woods.

There were others running the same direction as her, but for the moment all Tessa cared about was getting away from the ground that was trying to eat her. Away.

Everett was lying face down in the woods, a splitting headache, and a warm, wet feeling were his early greeters. He moved slowly to his hands and knees. Trying to shake a fog from head, yet only a warm liquid was shaken off. That's when he felt the pain.

Everett rolled on to his back and put a hand to his head. If there was any doubt before, it was gone now. His head had been busted open, blood was pouring out at a pretty decent rate. It wasn't as alarming as not knowing where he was at. That's when the panic set in. The pain subsided a bit but it was replaced by pure panic and fear.

Everett jumped to his feet, only for him to fall back down two or three times. On top of the head wound, he was a little drunk. Everett kept trying to get back up. Fearful, drunk and panicked. There was a side of that thought there was no way this could get any worse, then as he looked around. His own worst nightmare came to pass. Dags wasn't there, there was no signs of Dags.

Everett ran from tree to tree shouting and screaming for Dags, nothing else mattered to Everett, not pain, panic, fear. Where he was, how he got there, how much he was bleeding, nothing else could have a hope to matter. Everett did his best to calm down, but the fear was to great, the panic was too strong. He didn't know where he was or how he was gonna find him.

It wasn't until he fell down for what he had to have been the fifth or sixth time that Everett remember that he had any sort of abilities. He raised a hand covered in blood and watched as he glowed brightly. Using his powers seemed to make things a tiny bit better, it didn't change the fact that Dags was gone.

The party had been a blur to Austin. Honestly, if anyone where to ask him about the events, the police or anything, he'd just look at them, confused. Though, had he not gotten wasted, he would've remembered the alarming events. But as far as his memory went, the events transpired like this:

After Tessa had gone to talk with Nina, Austin decided it was time for him to have some fun and relax. He pulled out a flask of Bailey's - he highly doubted they would serve it at the party, and couldn't be bothered asking - and chugged it down, gulping with a satisfied smile on his lips. It tasted kinda weird, and soon after he felt a strange burning sensation in his throat, but figured that they'd changed the ingredients a little, and carried on. Though, he soon managed to bump into quite a few people, and one of them shot him a mother of all looks.

"S'rr..." He slurred, struggling to keep his eyes open. The girl he'd bumped into huffed and walked off, shoving him out the way and causing him to fall on the floor. The teen got up eventually, with much difficulty, and stumbled onwards, heading god knows where. The noises and sights blurred into one, becoming like a messy canvas, everything glowing a bright orange/yellow hue. The minutes whizzed by, with him partying and whooping, barely managing to see Jade's little strip tease, much to his relief. He drank and drank and drank, completely forgetting about Tessa, and instead savouring the false joy alcohol (and possibly drugs, he couldn't remember) gave him. But, soon, everything started to turn dark, and voices mute, one by one, like a TV slowly losing power. The last thing he could remember before he spiralled into unconsciousness was Jade screaming her head off.

Austin woke up with a start. The lodge was wrecked, and there were massive cracks and fissures in the ground. There was nobody in sight at all. Not even Tessa. He scrambled to his feet - almost falling in one of the gaps in the process - and sped off into oblivion, the world around him a plain black canvas, decorated only by the stars in the sky. He stopped in the middle of the woods, completely lost, cold, and alone.

"Tessa?" He cupped his hands around his mouth and called out. "Tessa, where are you?!"

The Brit longed for her to call back to him, to have some sort of company, but all he had beside him was the echoing of his voice.

"TESSA!" Now his voice was ricocheting off the trees, becoming a thunderclap worthy of making his ears pop. "TESSA! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Tears began to stream down his face, and he collapsed into a sobbing mess, endlessly uttering Tess' name, in the hopes that she'd find him somehow. He checked his phone, but no signal. "AGH!" Resisting the urge to throw it on the ground, he put his phone back in his pocket and huddled into a ball, wanting to stay warm. The tree branches looked like menaces above him, their bony, black fingers reaching out to grab him by his shirt, and drag him into Hell. And boy did he feel like he belonged there right now. How he just abandoned Tessa and drank booze all night, probably making her hate him in the process. He was probably going to die out here before he could apologize, too. With another sob, he huddled himself tighter and closed his eyes, wanting to wake up from this nightmare.

“SOMEONE HELP!” Grant desperately called out.

Among the running, the shaking, and everyone screaming for their lives, Grant Jackson Wells was on both knees, cradling a female’s head. There was blood coming from her neck. Her eyes were open and she was coughing up blood. It wasn’t a lot, but it was enough to warrant anyone to be worried. Her hair was blonde and figure slender. She was wearing a sky blue dress and had white heels on. She looked like someone out of a summer fashion magazine. But not now. Her blood-stained clothes, and her slowed breathing was not like out of a magazine. She was fighting for her life. And Grant could only be there, praying someone nearby would be able to help.

“DANI! PLEASE! DON’T DIE!” Grant’s tears fell onto the dirty blonde hair of his older sister.

One Hour Earlier

Despite everything that had happened at school, to his arm, having that fight with his father, Grant’s day today has been one of his best days. Though it had a rocky start, telling his best friend that he loved her and how she received his feelings back. They had their first kiss at Simonè’s and then he told her he’d pick her up for the party. And he did, though Grant did it in a flashy, red Audi. It was definitely to her surprise, as she noted when he told her about how he was able to snag his father’s car. Again, greatest day ever.

The drive to the party wasn’t long, maybe ten minutes at most. With DanI heading the wheel, it wouldn’t take long, but it felt long. Ava and Adam kept on asking questions back and forth. Grant took the liberty of answering them. Even though he was nervous as all hell, he answered every single question. He answered how long have they felt that way for each other, what made one of them decide to take that leap of faith, what they plan on doing if things don’t work out — well, that last one was more of a silent one than vocal. Grant answered every single one of them.

And before they realized it, they had arrived at the party. They got a bunch of head turns due to the fact that hardly anyone showed up in a flashy, red Audi. Everyone knew that was Wesley’s pride and joy, and the Wells siblings, minus Thomas, were in it.

“They’re staring at us.” Grant nervously pointed out, tugging at Olivia’s arm.

“Bro, relax,” Adam said, “it’s a party! People are gonna stare at you, especially with a hot blonde at your side.” He said. Ava and Dani punched both arms. He lightly yelped.

“Ignore Adam,” Dani said, “just go hang out with your friends, little bro.” She smiled, then she pointed. “look, I see Alicia, Kata, and that Jade over there. Go have fun.” She smiled again, “but be careful. That arm of yours isn’t exactly fine, ya know?” She told him.

Grant nodded and left his siblings to mingle with who they wanted.

A lot of mingling with friends, with people who barely knew Grant, and with people that he hardly could stand(not a positive type of mingling). Grant mainly hung with Jade, Alicia, and Katalina. And of course, his new girlfriend, Olivia. There was a time when Jade began doing what Grant had heard about her from Thomas and that was doing strip teases. That made him uncomfortable, so Grant took Olivia and went to go hang with other people. Grant saw Richard King and that Okada kid run off to the woods. He also saw Alice Malone, Scout Presley, Ashton Byrant, Jay Daring-Hunter. Or was it Hunter-Darling? Grant could never remember which it was. Regardless, he saw all of the normal people that he saw at school. He even saw the Jelen twins hanging about. Grant knew Nina through Tess, though he hasn’t had much reason to speak to her due to Grant not really seeing her around much.

When things were quieter, there were some times where Grant enjoyed watching other people around having their fun. He would often see his siblings partying. There seemed to be a lot of cheering whenever Jade would lose her top. All Grant seemed to do was laugh as he would hold Olivia’s hand. There was a lot of fighting, drinking, and seemed to be some powers being abused. Grant shook his head at then. He shook his head even more when he saw that Gerard kid and Everett Wilcox have a bit of a sparring session. Grant never understood the big deal about doing that, but to each their own, or something like that.

When Grant got up, he suddenly heard something. It sounded like a scream. Alerted and curious, Grant took Olivia’s hand and both of them seemed to be lured to it. He saw Jade. She was the one screaming. Everyone was looking at her, seemingly curious as Grant had been. But then the screaming brought a friend. The ground began to shake. Not only did it start to shake, but it shook wildly. Not only did it shake wildly, but the ground split open like in that movie San Andreas where the entire state of California — or at least the part that rested on the San Andreas Fault — started to split open. Panic set in and everyone scattered. Some thought the lodge was a good idea, but that was wrong. Some thought running towards where the cars were parked and that was a wrong idea too. So, they went towards the woods. It didn’t seem like the most logical choice, but anything was better than dying at the hands of Jade.

Grant wanted to walk up to her, but then, the masses forced him towards the woods. Grant didn't know what to do, so he ran with them. He ran a bit, with Olivia and then, out of the corner of his eye, a sight of a body laying in blood widened his eyes. It caused such a feeling of fear to set into his mind that he didn’t care about anything else was going on. It was Dani. She was on the ground. Her head was bleeding and it was resting on a jagged piece of a piece of wood. She seemed to be leaning slightly against a tree. The back of her neck seemed to be pierced about three inches into the base of the neck. Grant was already crying, trying to do something he could, anything to get her off it, but he knew he couldn’t. Grant was helpless.

Grant held her head on his lap, crying out for help. He saw people run by and he none of them heard him. Grant was weak in his crying. Grant was weak in his confidence to stand up to his father. Grant was weak in calling for help. “Someone…please help.” Grant's desperate voice called out, but the noise of fear and panic from everyone running for the hills woods covered it.

Scout had spent the party mingling and drinking. She had ultimately hid behind Jay and Alice in the beginning, trying to not meet the eyes of any teachers or adults, but once the older folks abandoned the premises she gained a slightly louder tone and welcome others with small smiles and mischievous plans. Her first beer had been finished slowly, longingly, as if Scout only drank it a drop at a time. During the course of this drink, she spent her time chatting with her closer friends, explaining her hare-brained scheme to paint up the school, or maybe cause a bit of mischief in Old Town. By the time she reached the end of the beer her mind was buzzed and her hands sweaty. It was a lovely feeling, this tipsiness, and with a light heart Scout joined her friends around the coolers to chat and gossip.

The cheeriness in the air didn’t last long, as after a mere twenty minutes of screaming over the choir of laughing, dancing teens and loud music there was a slight commotion in the crowd. Scout turned quickly, only briefly seeing the blonde-head of King fade off into the night, and her lips pursed with curiosity. Behind her she heard laughs from her friends, who were perhaps joking about reasons as to why King was sprinting away from the party, and Scout couldn’t help but to turn and joke along. Laughter and music filled in any empty air left by her conversations, and eventually Scout found herself wandering alone through the crowd, eyes focused on the fire pit where her friends had later congregated too. Being so small, Scout found that she was having trouble getting from place to place in the party due to the many taller legs that blocked her path, and being slightly drunk didn’t exactly way anything in her favor.

“Jay, where the hell are you? I’m stu-”

Scout attempts at crying out for someone were thwarted by a familiar shriek. The dancers around her froze in shock, and Scout felt the hairs on the back of her neck raise as words formed from the insane cries. The earthquakes started soon after the sobs, and Scout yelped as the people around her ran away in fear. Fissures split across the yard and Scout scrambled away quickly, unaware of the fact that a pale blue shield guarded her back in flashes. She eventually tripped over her own feet and hit the ground chin-first. Whatever alcohol that had clouded her brain stunned her, kept her clung to the earth as she groaned and saw the world spin nauseatingly. Attempting to steel her mind, Scout squeezed her eyes shut and cried out, digging her hands into the dirt as the earth below seemed to shake with rage. Feet thumped around her, and eventually all that was left was the faint groans from the source of the earthquakes and the far off cries of familiar teens.

Scout huffed out breaths, trying to regain some sense of calmness, but the shaking earth and far off noises were driving her mad. It was like fear was literally in the air, filling her head with unnecessary thoughts and suffocating her. It was odd, like the fear wasn’t her own but was rather being forced to be on her, and Scout knew that she didn’t want it. Scout glanced about once, as quickly as possible, and she assessed that she was just on the edge of the woods, only a few feet from the 'safety' of the trees. Slowly and unsteadily she rose up, mind whirring with the usual fight or flight ideal that most fearful people experienced, and Scout felt her jaw tighten suddenly as she turned and wobbled slightly back towards the source of the cries. Her hands clenched tightly, and she felt her knees tremble as she mustered up whatever voice she had left to scream out,

“Jade! Calm down! Jade!”

Scout’s voice betrayed her. It warbled with panic and barely sounded above the roar of the wind and trembling earth. Her body shook with fear, making her legs tremble uncontrollably and her mind whir with the thought of her possibly dying here. But, Scout knew her mind. She was good at staying calm, or at least appearing so, and now, in front of the insane Jade she kept her gaze hard and her posture stiff and controlled. The option of flight was still pulling at her, urging her to turn and run, but the panicking cries of Jade kept her steady and sane. Someone needed help, someone needed protection, and Scout wasn’t just going to let them suffer.

“Jade, what’s wrong?! You really gotta calm down, look at what you-” Scout was cut off by a sudden gust of wind and coldness splashing over her body. Rain. Sudden, unrelenting rain. It fell hard, and then quickly lightened to the likes of a summer storm. Scout glanced at the sky once, shivering against the sudden cold, and then returned her hard stare to Jade. Honestly, the sudden freezing storm may be useful, it managed to clear some of the haze that infected Scout's mind, but still her body itched with terror. Seeing Jade before her, with all the fissures surrounding her, however, inspired Scout once again to pursue her goal to help this poor girl. Again, she cried out in confusion for Jade’s outbursts, but her words were lost to the winds and screams and earth around her. She kept crying out, hands clenching until she felt pain from her nails digging under her flesh, but her words just seemed to fade away, as if carried off the a gust of wind.

Perhaps running would really be the best option.

Alicia looked up at her girlfriend she was relived to see Katalina wasn't hurt as bad as she was, Alicia bit her lower lip letting out a whimper in pain as she showed Kat her leg. "My leg stepped into one of those fissures, or potholes whatever you want to call them.." Alicia gripped the ground tightly her nails digging into the soil. "Some party huh?" Alicia said softly as she reached out to hold onto Katalina's hand, she screamed loudly in pain as she tried to stand up again.

That's then she noticed the cuts in Katalina's hands, and looked up at her girlfriend with a concerned look. "Kat your hands are bleeding what happened?" Alicia asked, then she felt the sudden gust of cool wind and looked up as she started to feel rain drops starting to pelt at her. Then rain became heavier her hair and clothes were completely drenched in the rain, Alicia leaned herself into her girlfriend's arms looking at her and leaned forward to give her a gentle kiss. "I guess I'll be your princess for the night." Alicia said as she winced in pain as she looked over Alicia could see a small light. She could see that it was Jay he was hovering over what looked like a body and gasped slightly as she thought it was a body of one of the party goers. Alicia squinted slightly and noticed that the body was shivering, and she could hear whimpers, as she got a closer look she could see that it was Austin.

"I can see Jay and Austin over there Kat." Alicia said pointing out towards him she held onto Katalina as tightly as she could wrapping her arms over her girlfriend's shoulders allowing herself to be carried bridal style. Alicia nuzzled her head under Katalina's neck feeling like she was safe in her girlfriend's arms.

Alicia then started to think about her parents and Kata's as well, they were going to be furious and worried about them now most likely and knew that she would end up getting grounded by her parents for sneaking out to go to the party knowing something dangerous would happen. "Our parents are really going to be pissed off at us when we get home.."

While rain poured down, all Jade could see was raging red silhouettes surrounding her. They were all scattered about. Some of them were unsure where to go; some headed for the cars; some headed for the lodge, but that was crushed; some went for the woods, but all the while they did, Jade stood there in the epicenter of the quake.

Everything around her was destroyed and few people stayed. One in particular that stood out of the red, and thus, it stood out to Jade. This one had a blue to it. It was not only blue, but there was a shade of white surrounding it. Jade saw it approach her, even while the shaking was continuing. She saw it approach her. She heard it call her name out, but Jade’s sense of hearing was blocking for her to respond. Then again it called out, but this time louder. And clearer. She recognized it.

“S-Scout,” she mumbled. For a moment, Jade was calm. With this calm, she started to see Scout’s piercing blue eyes and her blonde hair slowly overtake the blue and white silhouette of her form. Jade almost saw it entirely. She would have if it wasn’t for the fact that she saw two specific forms in her line of sight. One was Jason. He shown with a brilliant pink shade. The second was Katalina. She gave off a medium teal shade. She was knelt down by Alicia, who was down. Jade started to shake her head--

And then, when the clarity became foggy, Jade furrowed her brow.

And then when the images of those three became different colored silhouettes. Nothing else was important. Just those three. No matter who they were with or where they were going, Jade would not let them escape, not if she could have anything to do about it.

And so she did.

“YOU’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!” Jade yelled clear cross in her line of sight.

Jade’s foot stomped on the ground, sending geothermic energy clear across her line of sight. Within the path was a group of people who, in normal circumstances, Jade Taylor wouldn’t have a problem with(mostly). This group of people included Nina Jelen, Ashton Bryant, Scout Presley, Austin Williams, Alicia Smith, Katalina Hargrave, and Jay Hunter-Darling. All of them were in danger of Jade’s wrath. All of them would feel it coming. And all of them, if they weren’t careful, would get burned by the rising molten rock suddenly taking form within the creases of the cracks around.

He held her as close and firm to his chest as he could. His transparent tears coating her face, dripping down to her neck, and it meshed with the blood. DanI was his closest sister. That meaning he was closest to her. She had always been the one to cheer him up after Wesley would yell at him. They were the disappointments, which meant that they were often the two who got the worst of his lectures. She was his rock.

“You can’t leave me, Dani,” Grant rocked back and forth, but not too hard. He couldn’t stand if anything happened to her. “Who else is going to help me get through father’s lectures? Who is going to cheer me up when he hits me? Who is going to take me to my first night out at the club? You have to be that person, Dani. You just have to,” Grant’s words, though full of love and sorrow, were just empty. She couldn’t hear him, not really, anyways. She was fading into unconsciousness. He saw a glimmer in her green eyes, but no vocal syntax came out of her mouth. All he heard was coughing.

Grant thought it was hopeless. The thoughts of despair and grieve entered his mind, but then he heard a minimally familiar voice. His eyes looked towards the direction next to him and saw that long, black hair he had always seen around Riveredge. It was that same black hair that was glued to King’s side. This black hair belonged to an Asian teen. Not only was it an asian teen, but it was one that Grant knew of. “Okada?” Grant said, eyes fell on Malcolm Okada.

As he watched Malcolm examine Dani, he wasn’t sure what he was even doing here. Why wasn’t he running? Did he not see Jade Taylor explode in a rampage? Did he not feel the notion to run as far away from this place? “Malcolm, why are you here?” Grant asked curiously.

Grant had reason to be curious. He knew that Malcolm’s father was a doctor. From what Grant has heard from his father, Malcolm’s father was a superb doctor. If not for the Wells, the Okada’s might have the esteemed pleasure of being the top doctors in Verona. Still, as Grant looked down at his sister, there wasn’t anything a doctor could do, even if they had all of their tools and the best gifts of saving lives.

Malcolm had instructed Grant to hold Dani tight. An odd request, Odd indeed, but Grant saw the determined look in Okada’s eyes. So, he trusted him for the time being.

Grant held onto Danielle as tight as he could and without so much as a warning, he yanked the chunk of wood lodged in her throat. “DANI!” Grant screamed, eyes filled with disbelief. He was one second away from using his power to kill Okada, but before he did, Grant looked down at his sister. Okada had his hand on her forehead and Dani’s injuries. They were gone.

When Grant had DanI in his lap once more, he saw her eyes starting to open.

“W-what happened?” She spoke slowly.

Grant smiled happily, tears flowing down his face. “You’re alive!” He hugged her lightly. Grant has never been so happy in his entire life.

After a minute of hugging Dani and her being a little confused, Grant looked towards Malcolm. He was smiling widely, but then he noticed the teen had blood coming from his nose. “Hey, Oka—I mean Malcolm—are you okay?” Grant knew that was a stupid question. Blood coming down the face was never a good sign.

Katalina blinked as it started raining. Just what they needed at the moment. However... she raised up her hand and focused for a moment, and a water umbrella bloomed over her and Alicia. Her head was pounding due to the effort it was taking to sustain the damn thing, but right now that wasn't the point. She looked at Ali and blinked, and then at her hands. "Huh, I didn't notice I cut up my hands. It's fine babe... I'll be fine. Let's take care of you." She waved her hands, pulling the water out of Alicia's clothing and her own, and adding it to the umbrella. She then wrapped her arms around Alicia and picked her up princess style and let out a small grunt of effort.

"Okay princess, sorry if I'm not the best prince right now..." She let out a nervous chuckle and kissed Ali on the cheek and then walked over to Jay and Austin. As they got closer, she increased the range of her umbrella, causing her head to scream at her. Her vision went double for a moment, and she leaned her back against a tree near the two boys, still trying to hold Alicia.

"So... do all parties go like this? Or is this just because I'm here?" Despite trying to be funny, her expression was more of horror as she looked at Jay and Austin. She was getting paler by the second as she sustained the stupid umbrella, nearly screaming as more people joined their group. Her vision was getting blurrier around the edges as she moved her hand to pull water off of more kids. That caused her to scream and limp more against the tree, blood dripping from her nose. "Sorry my princess... I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this up guys... fuck..." She didn't even realize who she was pulling water from as Ash, Nina and Jade entered the area. "Jade... what... what the??"

Nina kept a hold onto Ash, and pulled out her lighter as well, for a moment, before realizing the rain made her powers fuck all useless, and the lighter as well. She frowned a bit as they headed towards the other people but was happy to see them. Jay, Austin, Kata; who was looking like shit; Alicia. She kept her hold on Ash as they joined the others, and blinked as she realized she was no longer wet, and watched the water join the umbrella covering the area.

She only let go of Ash when he went to check on Austin, and she looked around. "Where's... Tess? Shouldn't she be with you Austin? Petyr isn't here either..." She started breathing a bit heavily, as her hand went to grip the lighter again. She ripped a part of her dress off and handed out scraps of it to people to wipe their blood away. She didn't care that the dress was now ruined to all hell. She keeled down next to Ash and gently wiped away the blood from his face.

She looked up when Jade came stumbling in, looking like the picture of anger itself. Her eyes looked over at the cracks in the Earth and noticed the red lava rising, and could feel its heat. It only needed a spark and because of Katalina, the area was more dry than some others. Nina pulled out her lighter, and remained next to Ash, bracing herself for what would happen. She hid it in her hand, and looked around the group, wondering what would happen next.

Tessa heard Grant’s voice. It wasn’t loud, well it was, loud enough for hear anyway, but it was not that close to her. She heard more talking, Malcolm was talking to Grant. Tessa ran toward their voices.

“Hello.” Tessa screamed into the woods. Hoping they’d hear her, and if anyone else was nearby and was lost would too. She could dream.

She hoped Grant was okay. With his arm broken, or at least badly injured arm this was not a good place for him to be right now. Admittedly it wasn’t a good place for anyone, thanks to Jade. Tessa sighed, there had to be a logical reason for Jade’s freak out. What she said didn’t make any sense.

Once she was in sight of Grant, Malcolm and Dani... Dani was covered in blood holy shit she hopped that wasn’t her blood, but whose could it be?

“Jesus are you okay?” She asked looking between Dani and Malcolm, who looked like he was about to pass out, and had blood coming out of his nose. What had she missed? “Have you guys seen anyone else?”

Austin was terribly failing in his mission to cry himself to sleep when someone - or something - tripped over him. He sat up, in a terrible state of sobbing and spluttering. His eyes were red raw, and burned when he opened them to look in the direction of where the person - or, again, thing - had fallen. It was Jay. The pink-haired boy placed a hand on Austin's shoulder and crouched down, keeping the lighter in his hand elevated.

“...Austin? Oh, god, it is you. Come on, get up, get up. We need to get out of here.”

"I can't, Jay..." He spluttered, savouing the faint heat of the lighter. "I-I can't find Tessa. I can't find her anywhere." This only made him cry even worse, the stream of tears becoming a fountain. Then, he noticed another person walking over. When they got closer, he noticed it was Kat. She was carrying Alicia.

"Our parents are really going to be pissed off at us when we get home.." Alicia said, with Austin nodding in agreement. Suddenly, lighting cracked through the sky. The British teen nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Jesus christ..." He muttered, trying to stop crying. He apparently failed at that, as the tears persisted, making a wet puddle that was soaked up on the ground, and soaking his clothes. Nina & Ashton then hurried over, clearly as fear-stricken as Austin, before Ashton practically collapsed at the boy's side. Boy was he drawing a crowd.

"Come on Austin, get yourself together." Ashton said, his voice wavering and his words coming out in delayed chunks.

"I-I'm trying, Ashton. I j-just can't without..." He trailed off, burying his head in his hands. Nina then came closer, and Austin looked up, eventually managing to shut off the crying.

"Where's... Tess? Shouldn't she be with you Austin? Petyr isn't here either..."

He burst out crying again, laying back in his original position. Not for long, however, as Jade stepped in, causing him to scramble to his feet.

“YOU’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!” She screamed, and the Earth began to tremble. There was something coming towards the group, and it was something big. And, unbeknownst to him, with every sob, tremble and shudder, his entire body became one big blur. Austin wanted to move; to pick everyone up and run, but he couldn't. He was frozen. All he could do was stand there, sobbing and screaming, one big blurry mess.
