Strengths: Alistar is solely focused on the idea of magic as a form of power to be exerted. As such, his magic is mostly combat focused. His high precision lightning, wide area flames and fury driven storms are designed to annihilate.
Weaknesses: With the high combat focus, Alistair is very much lacking in every other aspect of magic. He understands them, he just thinks there's no point to them.
Catalyst: Alistair's arms are marked in thin crimson lines, each etching unique runes of his rituals to call forth spells. They were all created and cut by his own hands. He is quite proud of them. The ruby lines flare to life when magic floods through them.

Personality: Alistair is a gifted individual, astoundingly intelligent and gifted with a focus that people say is not natural for a human. Alistair generally pays them no mind, he simply wishes to learn more and more about magic. His thirst for knowledge and curiosity form the core precepts of his personality. As a teacher, Alistair is rather well liked certain students that value the Prodigy’s knowledge. He tends to attempt to hold himself in a position of calm authority, despite his anger occasionally getting the better of him; usually due to a student unwilling to grow.
Backstory: Alistair was born to two scholars, mundane in the ways of magic but prestigious in their own fields of study. At a young age it was obvious the child Alistair was extraordinary in all aspects of scholarly endeavours, learning languages in days shortly after learning to read and write. He was lauded as a prodigy. Compared to beings greater than what Alistair could even hope to achieve in his own mind, but he remained silent about these thoughts.
As the child grew slightly older, his fascination with magic turned to an utter focus. The mind of the young child became pinpointed upon learning more about the fascinating art of spells and rituals and incantations. The small seven year old boy was easily accepted into the academy, his prenatural inclinations giving him rather quick precedent over the other applicants. Thus, Alistair’s formative years were in the academy. His bookish behaviour was an overwhelming factor in his childhood; always straight laced, trying to be the best in his class, even showing up some teachers at some point. It was at the age of about fourteen that Alistair started to become the overconfident and ego driven man. The surge of hormones, the realization that he enjoyed the company of pretty women and they enjoyed the way he carried himself as a teenager brought down the ‘nerdy’ character set forward. Of course, outside of his ‘escapades’ with his peers, the Prodigy still kept a laser focus upon mastering magic. At the age of fifteen, Alistair discovered writing about the use of magic without a catalyst. The act of inscribing the magic upon ones skin. Alistair knew that he could accomplish it without a hitch. Mostly. Upon a darkened night, the moon full above the child wizard’s head. He followed the instructions written in the musty pages of the tome. The blade made of a reaper’s bone ripped at his skin. The thick catalyst he poured into the rune scripts made from dragon blood and demon ichor. The flesh healed over quickly, forming the runes he soon became known form. The child had completed the ritual spell and could cast his contritio magic with much greater finesse than before, after all...it had become a part him. With the new-found skill and his prodigal mind set, the man became one of the youngest humans to pass through the academy and become teacher right after graduation.
