Tarani was smart, sometimes to smart for her own good. It was surprising how much she actually knew and was able to retain. She had so many books under her belt, and had had so many encounters with other Fae that the sheer vastness of knowledge she had acquired was astonishing. It was a weight upon her shoulders sometimes, feeling as if though one day she would have an even greater purpose; sometimes it was a blessing--creating revelations for many along the way. Perhaps it was her age and her analytical nature that causes rifts in her personality? Perhaps it was just her great desire for power? Only she knew the true reason.

Tarani was shocked that a Fae so young knew what he did about greed and lust, and it clearly portrayed across her face. "Well, Lost, I'm rather surprised that you know so much about those two. Without one, you can't have the other. They have swam in harmony together for many in the Fae realm. The Human Realm as well relies on these two key fundamentals in many of their endeavors. I do agree, however, that one day any one of us could be the next ruler of the Fall Realm, but I dare not expect it. Just as you, if not more so even, I too love Lord Falk, and do not wish to see him fall from grace. This Game we play in the Fae is a game like none other. A game of Madness and Trickery. A game that all Fae enjoy--some more than others. I'm sure your standing in the game is just as enthralling as mine." Her last comment foreshadowing an interesting event of dramatic proportions.

Tarani was a little tenser than she was not but moments ago, sensing an unease in the young Satyr next to her. Natural. She was an uneasy creature who set unease in people as an infection sets in to the bone. It wasn't something she did intentionally, but it was something she was slowly gaining control over. "No need to worry so, Lost. I shall not harm you, nor shall I turn on you. I implore you...if you have any concerns lingering in your mind, speak of them; whether they be of me or any other in the Fae. Speak!," she exclaimed softly, "It has been many a year since I had such pleasing company. Lord Falk isn't much for talking as of late." She snickered at her last comment, the thought of how the meeting was going tickled her.

Max perked up and looked in the direction Grim was going as he followed him, "This is my chance. I could save somebody from this fate." He thought, and but a bit of hustle into his stride. Even if he'd be punished for trying to warn whatever other humans showed up, Max was at least.... 75% confident that he wouldn't be killed. He tried to continue conversation with Grim," So can I have something to call you then?" He asked," I know you won't give me your name, but your friends need to call you something, right?"

Lyra - Summer Land Forest

Lyra smiled at the new person joining them. She offered the partially eaten fruit to the lady. "You want some?" she asked, grinning with her juice covered mouth. The little girl had no problem sharing... unless it was her Ba-Ba's attention. She shared that with no one.

They were on the way to a place called 'Kort'. Lyra wasn't sure what it was, but Ba-Ba spent a lot of time there and it made him frown sometimes so she decided she didn't like it. But if that was where he was, then she would have to go there and make him smile. He had told her before that sometimes only she could make him smile and that made her feel good.

She wiped her face with the back of her hand and hung on to The Tree Lady as they walked. It was fun walking with The Tree Lady because she was high off of the ground and Lyra felt like she could see a lot. In fact she spotted something at that instant.

"Look!" she exclaimed, pointing. "One of Ba-Ba's lizards!"
Lyra had spotted one of the salamander servants of the Summer King. It looked at the curiously, licking it's eye in contemplation of the group and taking note of the unfamiliar person.
"Tell Ba-Ba I'm coming!" Lyra told the salamander in a sing-song voice, giggling.
The salamander seemed to nod in response.

Nari glided along the sky flapping his wings lazily, his mind wandered as did his body across the fall borders. He paid little attention to anything else in the skys, after all only Lord Falk owned more of it than he. Old, powerful, and full of fire had many benifits, one of such was not having to pay any mind to insignificant bugs that crawled on the ground. This air had pleased his scaley hide as it slid under and around him giving little resistance.

Eventually he came to and set a white hot jet of liquid flame infront of him raining down fire for a short distance. He really liked the effect it had, though he had been overly mindful of it. Senseless destruction was not his style, while he could directly control any flame he created or influanced. It would bode well for him to keep it under control.

Naime of Summer

Naime took the fruit gently, and took a slow bite as she walked. So this was what summer was about. Generosity? These people all gave, gave, gave, but all Naime knew how to do was take. She gave the fruit back quickly, feeing guilty that she had taken it from the little girl. It was men she wanted to steal from, not innocent children. She would have plenty of time to manipulate people at court. For now, maybe she could enjoy the sights. She couldn't remember when the last time was that she had just enjoyed something. She thought for a moment, and then spoke, addressing nobody in particular.
"I wonder what's gonna happen in court today?"

Ama shrugged her shoulder slightly. She ignored the salamander and looked down at Lyra. She stroked the little human's hair and looked back at the fae. "I would say threats of war. Threats of murder. The usual. But they won't say it like that... Rulers of the seasons tend not to be so blunt with each other." Ama watched the trees around them as they walked, finding comfort in them. She usually wasn't comfortable being far from her own tree, but the thought of exploring and travelling always dulled the feeling.

She heard movement in the room, causing her to instinctively reach for her guns, which weren't there. That's right...I dropped them when I was shot. she thought to herself. She caught a glimpse of yellow, which happened to be the salamander's eyes, her next thing to reach for were her knives. When she realized they had all been taken from her, she grew angry, "Alright you oversized lizard! Where are my knives?!" she shouted, clearly not fearing for her life like any normal human would. When the salamander got closer and began to gurgle, she came to the conclusion the creature didn't speak a lick of english, "Great, just great. I get stuck God knows where, all my weapons are missing, and I'm talking to an oversized lizard! Can anything else bizarre happen to me?" she asked out loud. Looking back at the gurgling salamander, she sighed, "You do know I don't understand you, right?" she asked. She then wondered if the creature could understand her, if it could, then maybe she could figure out where she was just by its reactions. "Hey lizard, where exactly am I? Wait...you can't answer that...umm..." she thought for a moment before rephrasing her question, "I'm not in a place made by humans, am I?" she tried again. While it was a dead giveaway she wasn't in her world, she still had to make sure, just to ensure her madness hadn't completely taken over her mind yet.

Nikko stares at her before nodding. He then waddles over to a hearth, combustes into ash, and then reappears with a woman. The woman is wearing a modest dress and has emerald green eyes with the same silts Nikko has. She walks to the songstress and bows her red and black hair falling forward as she does so. "it is good to see you awake madam, Nikko tells me you have questions. I would be happy to answer any questions you have and get you anything you require. she smiles at the songstress exposing rather dangerous looking teeth. Teeth that are similar to Nikko's...probably because they are the same species.
Nikko waddles back to the now conscious songstress and gurgles at her before putting his now toothless mouth on her arm and gently pulling, as if trying to get her to sit up or stand up. If she were to touch his skin it would be oddly soft, like a gecko's. His feet being similar to a gecko's as well since fire salamanders are incapable of being solely in water like their cousins...water salamanders.

Lost's ego was rather boosted at her compliment of his standing being as enthralling as hers. He was the type of fae that took everything with a grain of salt. Facts could be fickle sometimes. What seemed as truth to all one day could be false the next. People were so good at hiding things and strewing misconceptions. He always tried to find out more behind their words and actions. There is a lot you can tell about a person from analyzing them. He found he could get much more useful information from people than he could from books. A book meant you were relying purely on their words, and though they may think they're right, it could very easily be wrong. He would never argue with facts, unless he saw a way they could be wrong, but he also was weary of facts.

He was a little surprised at her asking of his concerns. He never really had concerns of the other fae, or many concerns at all. He would anly take concern as the situation arose and she was currently the only other fae he had any concern about, but her claims of peace seemed genuin. "Well I don't have many concerns of the fae or even myself, but you are very interesting to me. You seem able to balance a jovial nature along with that of a fearful warrior. I must say I have avoided physical confrontations for the greater part of my life. I've seen to many fae fall to something of that nature. In fact I have never seen words kill, just merely ruin. I do agree that physical prowess is very important. I just haven't been sure of when to start exercising it. That's part of the reason I want to join this years hunt."

The weather began to get chillier as thay made their way away from the Summer realm. Lost began to muse on the Winter realm and their mysteries. "I suppose I'll share a secret about myself. Even though I am around the Summer and Spring realms more often, my hut is near the Winter realm. I don't know why, but I love the scene of fresh snow reflecting the moonlight more than anything else. Especially if the snow is untouched and surrounded by trees. The way they glisten while casting intricate shadows decorating the ground below them. All of it illuminating the night with beautiful, white light." Lost had begun to wander off with his image. He caught himself once he didn't have anything else to say about it.

He wasn't sure what else to speak of himself. He never really thought of himself that interesting. Most fae were more interested in his music and what he could do for them rather than who he was. He wanted to know more about this woman as well. Who could actually be interested in him. "So what about you Anya? Do you mind if I ask what concerns you may have? Maybe it will give me some to think about."

The thunder booms over the standing stone as the Fall King shifts. "We can no longer hold the Moot to still till we are all present. We must go ahead." His silky voice wove reason into being. "I, the King of the Court of Fall, call this Moot to session bear to witness and contend thy voices King of the Court of Summer and Queen of the Court of Spring." His stormy eyes flashed with a particular annoyance. "We begin or we shall remain here a century more and may thy fields fall fallow in the waiting." This had to be one of the most drawn out Moots he had been in yet, these young ones were so very patient and oblivious to the dangers that would cause. How many Moots had offered advantage to rivals rising in power to challenge the returning Ruler of the respected season? "Humans have built their cities of iron, Wylde Fae roam, and there's that Tuath wandering about. The latter I wish to hear your views upon."

Having been given the confirmation she is not completely out of her mind yet, Songstress watched as the salamander left her alone, a tiny part of her had wished it stayed instead. When she saw it return with, what she assumed to be another of his species, she became curious. When she began to speak, she was surprised for a few moments, having expected the woman to sound similar to a snake in speech. "I have several-" she started before feeling something moist touch her hand. Looking at it, she noticed Nikko had her hand in his mouth and was pulling gently at her to get up, and it appeared he wasn't going to stop until she did what he wanted. "Alright, alright, I get the point." she told him, slowly standing. She made sure she was stable before removing her hand from the salamander's mouth, "Next time you want my attention, or for me to do something, please use your tail; I would rather not have to wipe off my hand every time." she told him. As she did just that, her attention returned to the woman before her, As I was saying, I have several questions, a few which are not particularly important at this exact moment. First off, I would like to know where I am exactly. I mean, I know I'm not in my world anymore, humans could never have these sorts of things. Trust me on that." she said, motioning to the hearth along with several oddly shaped designs in the room.

"Secondly, I wish to meet the one who saved my life. Or should I say, the one who found me in the forest, would that be possible?" she asked, having become unaware she was gently stroking Nikko's head like she would a cat. My next question, and please take no offense to this, but what do you lizards call yourselves?" she asked. Her mind went back to the differences between Nikko and this woman, while they appeared to be the same species, they were very different. She wondered if perhaps the woman was simply the next stage in their life cycle, if that were the case, then did that mean Nikko was but a youngling; not yet matured to that stage, but on his way to it? It was by this point she realized she was stroking his head, He feels so soft. I thought he'd feel all scaly like a snake or something, but he isn't at all. she thought to herself. She realized she was starting to become quite fond of Nikko, which was strange to her, as she had never really had any connection to another human in her world. Then again, neither of these two are human, so it shouldn't be that strange. she thought as she waited for the answers to her questions.

Feroas paces while he thinks. The fae falk speaks of is powerful...yet they are actively defying the rulers. he pauses in his pacing and studies the other rulers. Of the three of them, he seemed the most peaceful in nature...even with his spontaneous temper. He did not want to fight, but that fae was being a problem. "Perhaps there is a way to get them to stop without having them fight back. That sword makes everything more difficult...if they didn't have it this wouldn't be a very difficult problem to solve"

------------------
The woman nods to her. "you are currently in a guest suite in the summer fae castle." she shakes her head at the next question. "Nikko is the one who alerted our king to your unconscious body...so you met one of the two..our ruler is currently unavailable as he is meeting with the other rulers of this realm." she smiles kindly at Nikko who gurggles at the woman. as for what we are, we are salamanders. I am a servant while Nikko is a messenger. We are just one species of fae." the woman then tults her head and studies the human in front of her. "if you have anything you need please let me know...I would be happy to get it for you. Our ruler has told us not to allow you out of this room until he comes back, so you will have to tell Nikko who will get someone to help you if I am not available" outside the door there are two fae. One is a salamander the other a pixie. Both are clad in ornate armor with spears.

Raven Silverlight

Raven chuckled, evidently she'd struck a nerve. "My apologies good Madonna* I did not mean to offend your humble personage." Raven said sarcasm and false flattery dripping from her voice. "I was merely trying to outline your position here in this new world." As the boy said, it was possible the girl had some value to her but the reality was that the Winter Queen was not a patient woman and the obstinance Jessalyn had displayed thus far was likely more than enough to make the Queen want her dead more than she wanted her as a pet.

Unless Jessalyn had a very unique skill set to offer the fae she wouldn't survive long. After all the only reason Raven herself had not been executed long ago by more than one court was because she did a job for them that no else could perform with the same ease as she. That and the diamond sword hanging from her hip. The rulers of the four courts might not have admitted it to anyone but the existence of Claíomh Solais made them nervous. But then as immortals the fae often feared that which was older than them.

When the boy mentioned Raven's family the violet fae's eyes darkened. He'd realized her lineage and he was smart enough, or perhaps foolish enough not show fear to it. Of course the Tuatha commanded very little respect in any of the courts but most fae were wise enough not to provoke one. Raven's tribe had fallen very far and had little left to lose, that made them unpredictable and often violent.

No one was aware of or at least cared about the specifics of what happened to Raven's family. It was a story repeated over and over again in her people's history. The Tuatha was littered with orphans and few cared how they had come to lose there family.

With a flash of blinding light so fast it was barely perceivable Raven drew her diamond sword the very edge just touching Bain's neck. "Careful boy, there are some things one does not takes lightly. Raven's voice was as sharp and dangerous as the weapon she was holding. Her eyes were cast in shadow and for one long moment it looked as though she was going to cut him down right then and there.

The moment passed, the shadows lifted from Raven's gaze and the sword vanished back into the scabbard on her hip. A look of mocking joviality returned to her face and she gave a little curtsy. "My, I am honored that a pet of the Winter Court knows my name." Her pointed sharp teeth poked over her lips. "Though," she paused for a fraction of a second just long enough for what she said next to seem important. "You should know it is more... respectful to address a Lady by her title**."

Raven was almost enjoying herself. It had been a while since she'd had to chance to spar with words to this effect. Still she should be moving on. It would not be long before guards were dispatched to find the Winter Queen's favorite pet and Raven didn't particularly fancy having to deal with the two fae hiding themselves in the bushes.

Raven was about to leave when something caught her attention. A cliff not far away maybe ten feet high, more importantly the presence on it. "Grimalkin." She murmured under her breath. A Cat Sidhe and an old and dubious one at that. He was smart enough to hold a place in the Winter Court despite the Winter Queen's love of pain and misery. There was a human with the Cheshire Cat but Raven took very little notice of that.

Raven closed her eyes cursing herself for what she was about to do. She should just walk away right now, it wasn't her problem. Leave the humans for the Kitten to play with like a ball of string. But Raven knew what it was like to be at the very bottom, spit on and manipulated by everyone around her. She wasn't a saint but she knew she couldn't leave someone to that even fate, even a human, especially in the Winter Court.

Raven knelt down next to Jessalyn, her tone and face very serious. "If you want to survive listen to me. Promise me you'll do exactly as I say when Bain's Master enters this clearing. You will be dead within a week if he ensnares you in the Winter Court. I can protect you but you must do exactly as I say. Do you understand?" Raven paused waiting for an answer. "Then swear it, swear to me you'll obey my command when the Cat Sidhe approaches you."

*Madonna in this context means "Great Lady". It's a formal address in Italian.
**For the record her title is Lady Silverlight, if anyone was interested.

Lyra - Summer Land Forest

Lyra was quiet for a few moments while the two grownup females talked. The Tree Lafy said something that worried her.
"Are bad things happening?" she asked fearfully. "Is Ba-Ba okay?"

Anyone could tell the Summer King was fond of his pet, but she loved him with all of her little heart. If anything ever happened to him she would be inconsolable.
With her fears getting worse the child started to weep. "Where is Ba-Ba? I want him now. Please now?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jessalyn - Winter Land Forest
And the person, who was turning out to be a proper bitch, continued her assault. Oh she changed her words, but they were dripping with sarcasm and condescension.
But, to her shock, in an instant everything changed. Could her attitude change that much that quickly? Moments before she spoke of Jessalyn dying like it was nothing to her and now she was claiming wanting to protect her? And what exactly did she get out of this?
"Why do you care about my life suddenly?" she asked, genuinely curious as to the sudden change. Still wary, she tried to look in the direction of the woman's voice and hoped she was at least somewhat looking at her face.
"Alright. I leave this to your honor to carry out. I will listen and obey you until Bain's master leaves, whoever he is," she added.
She could only hope the woman had some form of honor and would hold to her word of keeping Jessalyn alive.
At her side Lysander growled under his breath and Jessalyn held on to his collar to keep him steady.
Ama smiled softly at the little girl. She gently stroked her hair to try to calm her down. Putting her finger under Lyra's chin, she lifted the girl's had up so that they were eye to eye. "Do not worry, little one. He is safe. I will protect him once we get there and he has other guards, also. See? No need to worry." Ama hid her own little fears she had about the meeting, so that Lyra would not be scared.
Ama looked back up to the path. They should be getting there soon. They had walked for a while.
Bayen kept his gaze when the blade was put to his neck, as though to convey his words were sincere. While if the conversation had continued he'd have appologised to her about mentioning it, he was merely surprised that she had been that person of whom certain rumors had been about. He didn't really pay any attention to court since he figured the best acting came from that and would sculpt his mind to the setting that their life presented.
Having been one that was eccentric of his own device, he hardly wanted a different style thrown into the mix of his game filled mind. However Bayen was ecstatic about the thought adaptation, which he found to be situational. Between bending to a will or trap of a person, and the rational need to comply. After all the human body is made of water, and water that does not move or change is stale and unuseful.
At his mistake he hurriedly bowed to Raven "Lady Silverlight, indeed forgive me of my manors. I relaxed since I had left the court and had been intended to be teloported into my personal forge." He requited his words with a direct look. He intended to make this nipped in the bud, not because he had too, but because he wanted too. He rationalized that this person cultivated the straight forward attitued, not unable to play in the word games of court. Simply that she preferred to not mince words with those that she hated and those that hated her, at least the probability was floating around in his head someplace while he nodded his head.
He was thinking about plot progression and what ever skills he might learn from the encounter, he was as uninterested of the silver tongue skill as he was living with out his sword arm.
His face paled at the thought of Grimilkin, just for a moment, long enough for him to despise the moment. With Ravens promise sung true Bayen looked at her a bit differently. In his thoughts he considered her to be slightly better than he imagined previously, in consideration only and to be evaluated in the upcoming moments. "He is not quite my master, he only had my middle name as does the Queen. For now I'm calling you Katie, sorry if you don't like the name, but do not tell anyone your name I stress that. Just as The lady here has bound herself to you by word- she has no chance to betray you for the time being." he instructed Jessalyn hoping that she could process any new information. The reason he shut his mouth being that that damn Cheshire cat had been approching with another child hard pressed for luck at this point. Well he acted like a type that would devour your soul and hand it back to you as an offenceive gesture. Not that Bayen knew if he could manage it.
Grim wore an easy smile as he finally approached the trio that now seemed arrayed against him, with a dog in tow. Bain Thearin he recognized easily, as well as the Lady Silverlight. The third member of the group, holding the dog's collar tightly, was unknown to him. The Cait Sith was certain this would not last long, and the corners of his smile turned a little more sinister when he finally stopped a couple yards from the others.
"Ladies, Bain," he greeted them, bowing to each in turn. "This beautiful morning finds you all well, I trust? It has been a while, Wanderer, since last we met. Tell me, do you still hold all that has passed between us against me? To me it is as water under a bridge, but I understand your memory is a little less twisted than mine. Do forgive an old Cat for his tricks, dear. It was not personal. I had orders, just as you did." Offering the Lady Starlight a sincere, if slightly off-putting smile, Grimalkin turns next to the human he knew.
"Always a pleasure to see you about, Bain. I trust the good Lady has offered you no violence within our own territory, for I would be obligated to respond in kind. You are useful, and I must admit I enjoy the way you see our world. Full of wonders, you are. Ah, and you," he continues, moving on to the girl with the dog. "I do not recognize you, young lady, which leads me to believe that I have not had the pleasure of being introduced to you. As always, it is wonderful to see a new face join our Realm. I am Grimalkin, and my companion you may call Oz." Thinking quickly, Grim had decided to introduce Max by a derivative of his middle name.
"Please, young woman, do give me the gift of your name." Stepping forward, Grimalkin reached out for the girl's empty hand. He intended to bow and kiss the back of it in chivalrous fashion, assuming none of the others intervened. At this point, he wasn't really sure how hostile this group would be towards him.
Naime of Summer
Naime looked down at the little girl, and felt sorry for her. Ugh.
Obviously she had spent too much time in Summer. She was... Sympathetic. She marched ahead of the dryad and the girl suddenly, arriving in court minutes before them. She saw her husband standing across the court and waved. He waved back, a stupid grin on his face. Oh god.
She would really have to drop this Meredith identity soon. Anyone attracted to females would see Naime as whatever they were most attracted to, now that her powers had activated. That was sure to cause confusion.
"Summer Fae castle?" she repeated. Well, that sort of made sense to her now, given the design of the room. Her attention was drawn back to the answers she received, surprised to find out that the same salamander she was petting was the one who found her in the forest first. It appears salamanders are far more intelligent than the lizards in my world. she thought, looking down at Nikko for a few moments. Once the woman was done answering her questions, she looked at her, "I guess asking for a weapon would be too much, I'm sure your King wouldn't want me to have one right now, not that I blame him. If I had my knives with me, I'm sure he'd be out a messenger right now." she said, her words clearly indicating Nikko. She thought for a moment, "Even though I can't have a weapon, and as much as I'd like to explore the castle as well, I suppose a more reasonable request might be appropriate? How about some food? I'm actually rather hungry." she asked. She then turned her attention back to Nikko, giving the fae a smile, "As for you...Nikko, was it? As for you, Nikko, it seems I owe both you and your master a life-debt. One I'll never be able to repay, of course. Regardless, thank you for coming across me in the forest, and I'm sorry about earlier; it's a habit of mine to pull a weapon on someone." she said. She knew her life now belonged to both of these fae, Nikko and his master, the King. She had wanted something like this to happen before, but with a charmingly handsome guy. However, she had to admit, Nikko was charming in his own unique way. While the two were of different species, she did get the feeling that they would be bound to one another for quite a long time to come, not that she minded that idea at all now.
Max huffed as they came to a stop, in front of a a small girl, and two people he assumed must be fae. Max looked up at the Grim for a second, confused by the name, but then understood why. He panicked when Grim asked the little girl her name, and balled up his fists. He couldn't let this pass, he couldn't let a little girl become a slave to these creatures, "Don't tell him, whatever you do!" Max shouted out, his voice quaking in fear, "They're bad people, and your name will give them power." He told her covering his head in fear of what Grim would do to him for ruining his fun. "Please don't let him kill me" He thought to himself, shaking.
