gisk, can I do a time skip of a couple of days, and say that it took you that long to return? Otherwise it took you about an hour to go recruit your two new people and bring them back.
@TheUnknowable I want you to assign a difficulty rating to Mia's attempt on installing another core on the damaged droid that were left from their initiation/practice tests and roll my Tinkering skill for it if you could please.
I would like to point out (from a "scientific" standpoint) that adding lasers on it's back would be very difficult... for two main reasons, one being that you would have to try and find a way to make it all fit together so that it can roll up into a ball and still move around fine, and two, power draw... The power core of the droid may or may not be able to support more firepower, and the shields, while maintaining its operating system, and various sensors. I'm not the one who has a say on whether or not you can do it... just pointing out difficulties.

ok. I'll say it's moderate difficulty (15), since it's a complex part but an old design, so it's not as complex as the newer droids. Also, your are combining two damaged ones into one working one. I actually rolled 3-4-5-6 (weird), so that's 18. A success.
I just wanna say, I know that you're feeling a bit left out at the moment Dia, but I think it will come to be interesting in the end. Kilgaris drew a lot of attention to himself, that's why Siador has such a focus on him. He's looking for apprentices and here comes a guy with Force Potential who already has a freaking lightsaber. When Kil shows his true colors, who's Siador gonna turn to? The traitor's sister. And think about the fun characterization we can give her in this event! Resentment for the belated justification, a renewed need and opportunity to prove herself. This whole situation puts her in an even greater competition with him than she already was. It's like, advanced sibling rivalry. It's also very Star Wars and I love it.
It's true that modern power devices would be more miniaturized (to a degree, they are already pretty small), as far as making it roll, I was less worried about the balance and more concerned about it no longer being able to make a spherical shape, given all the odds and ends from the new guns to the converters to make the newer power devices work with the old tech, so it either wouldn't be able to close properly, or if it did close there would be all kinds of bits sticking out.
