<Snipped quote by Abillioncats>The moment he started his little speech about how it could never be stopped and he would survive I knew he was going to die.
Also HOLY HELL, THEY CHOPPED OFF YANG'S FUCKING ARM!
I told you Lug that aura piercing weapons were thing.

Maybe the spoiler should have readNext time.
I knew that it was a RWBY spoiler before I clicked it, but I did it anyway and I don't know why.

<Snipped quote by Prince of Seraphs>Killing off your best villain is totally a decision the RWBY crew would make, but I tried my hardest not to believe it
I have transcended human emotions. Hype train is now moving at a velocity of 1.23c
Also,Ironwood doesn't just have a robot arm. He's half fucking robot/bionic/whatever. That's why this whole Robot Army thing is so important to him. That's why Penny was such an important project. This technology is not just theoretical, or experimental, it's the only thing keeping who may be the single most powerful person in Atlas alive.
<Snipped quote by MULTI_MEDIA_MAN>I doubt this. Whatever's been happening to Ironwood seems like it's long-resolved, and just something he utilizes the way anyone with a prosthetic does. I think Penny was Ironwood's attempt at creating an eternal Maiden who couldn't be killed under normal circumstances, to protect the powers from falling into the wrong hands. If things had gone wrong with Ozpin's pick, he would have proposed her for a candidate, the same way he got himself made head of security for the festival. Just another way of subverting the rest of the group in order to do what he thought was right.

<Snipped quote by MULTI_MEDIA_MAN>I don't think the bionic arm is keeping him alive. If you look at it it does cover part of his his chest but I think that's just to tie the arm into his nervous system so it works properly. Sort of like this:
Besides I get the feeling he's had the that arm for awhile. That may increase how important Penny was to him. If she's based off the same tech then he likely considers her like a daughter but as Plank says she was probably part of something larger.
On an unrelated note, did Pyrrha get any of the Fall Maiden's power or did Cinder take it all? Cause I was sort of looking forward to a maiden power vs maiden power fight.
Also when Ozpin's facing Cinder I can just hear Voldemort and Dumbledore: "It was foolish of you to come here tonight Cinder. The Hunters are on their way." "By which time I shall be gone and you shall be dead."
And it was heartbreaking when the Bunny Girl copied Penny's weaponry.
<Snipped quote by Plank Sinatra>I don't get all this distrust for Ironwood. I get that he's the odd man out of the Ozluminati, that his methods aren't particularly wise or effective, but so many people seem to think he's this underhanded schemer trying to usurp the secret group. I think it's the opposite: Ozpin and the crew are the sneaky schemers, and Ironwood is the guy who tries to get everything done through brute force. We all knew his robotic army was going to fail because we knew before anybody else that Cinder had a backdoor. As far as he knew, it probably couldn't be done.
Ironwood didn't want to be made head of security for the festival, he was put into that position after RWBY set off the White Fang's plans early. Which, as we all know, was a failing on Ozpin's part. He sent team RWBY there, knowingly "bending" the rules because they were up to something. Sure, he's not wrong that they would have found a way out there on their own, but part of being a leader is taking the blame for when your plans go screwy, just like Ironwood's going to be taking a huge hit once people realize that his glorious robot army turned on the people, regardless of whether he was behind it.
How's everyone doing?

Still waiting to see what @shadowkiller912 thought of my contest entree. Did anyone else enjoy it?
Well, I'm glad Ironwood's not dead.
Qrow's scythe is a truly impressive piece of machinery indeed.
I seriously doubt Roman is actually dead.
Adam is brutal, man. I don't think his weapon pierced Yang's aura; I think it brought it to zero in one shot, depending on what damage she already sustained offscreen during the fighting.
Cinder got all of the Fall Maiden's powers.
Assuming for the sake of appearances that Roman is actually dead from being eaten, this episode is the first one with technically real casualties so far: him and Amber.
<Snipped quote by Lugubrious>Called it.
It surely is.
I don't know. I could see them having him crawl out of the gryphon corpse in the next episode, but at the same time I could see us never seeing him ever again.
I'm not sure how Adam's weapon works, but HOLY SHIT YANG'S ARM! I wasn't surprised by it due to my own stupidity, but goddamn.
Yeah, it seemed to me she got all of it as well. Who knows, maybe during the final battle Pyrrha will call on her fraction of the power cosmic Maiden's Power, but we're definitely not going to see the two of them have a 1v1.
What about that Hugh Jackman looking character that Emerald and Mercury killed off screen? Are you not counting it because it was off screen or did you forget?
And don't forget Velvet's weapon/semblance reveal. It's pretty cool that she replicates their fighting style as well as their weapons.
