Ricardo wears mostly black and the occasional eyeliner. While not considering his style as goth, others tend to place that title upon him. Abducted in the dead of winter, he is paler than normal, considering his half Mexican heritage.


Personality:
Ricardo is a fairly quiet person most of the time, but having experience with stage acting, he can be lively when he wants to be. If you were to bump into him on the street he would be more likely to give you a polite head nod than actually say anything. Once you get to know him, he will open up, revealing his goofy care free side.


Biography:
Ricardo grew up in the state of Tennessee in the USA. He was raised by his Mexican mother and Tennessee native father and seven years elder sister. His home was located far away from any large city, atop a very rural mountain. He went to high school in the nearest town, thirty minutes away from his home by car. Eventually he would move away to college in a medium sized Tennessee city.

While in college, Ricardo discovered the world of acting. Going to school, acting whenever he had the chance, and working at a restaurant, he never had a dull moment. He even found time to get into trouble a few times with drugs and alcohol. When his college career came to an end, the young man decided to move away to a larger city, one where he could act professionally.

Following his heart, the young man landed in Atlanta, Georgia. He quickly obtained a job as a server at a popular restaurant. There he struggled to make a living in a much more expensive city, while trying to audition for professional plays. As he entered his first winter in Atlanta, he was feeling disappointed that he had not been cast in any plays for the grand total of eight months that he had been there.

By no means beaten, Ricardo was looking on hopefully to the spring of next year. Unfortunantly, he would not see the next year. Going to sleep alone, and slightly drunk, was the last thing he remembered before opening his eyes to this strange new world.

Appearance:
A small but quaint child. Brown curls fall around her face and green eyes glint in the mischievous way of children. Her attire consists mostly of loose patterned dresses of cotton or silk.


Personality:

Being a child she is prone to want things to go her way and asks a lot of questions. Really she isn't so frightened of the new world as she is curious. Having free range is another feeling she isn't used to and unsure about, she went from staying at home all the time to not even having a home. She is usually in a state of amazement as everything is completely new and revolutionary technology for her.

Most of the time she is so overwhelmed about how great this new place is that she doesn't question things; the lack of night is scary, so is the lack of stars but the amount of light is new and strange and nighttime isn't a priority anyway. She enjoys all the new experiences including food. Occasionally she will become distressed, usually in startling or difficult situations and become upset because she has no parents any more and that is the worst thing that could happen in her perspective.

Biography:
Being born in 450 B.C would never seem like a pleasant thing, especially retrospectively, even worse for girls. Cammila was just that though, a girl born in a world for men. Cammila never really got a chance to experience the world much, so our story shant be as devastating as it may seem

Her mother was married to a richer man and had several children before Cammila, and by the time the child disappeared there would be a few more. The first was a strong boy, Edelmar , a perfect heir to the Ocaris name and a fine son. He grew and learned and went to school, never caring much for his siblings. The second and third was a pair of girls, Gavrilla and Gaynora. The fates were crule in rome those days and Gavrilla died at a young age, sickness the doctors said. Death sent from above. Gaynora grew on to help her mother and the slaves keep the house, always forlorne. She learned to sew and helped with the next two children before being married to a handsome youth. Her very own happy ending came and she had her own family with him. Garrette came next, another boy to lighten the loss of a baby girl. He was meek and not as mighty as his eldest brother, but still he protected the house while the older men were away. Even if he did enjoy playing with his older sister.

Then came little Cammila, blessed with beauty and kindness and loved by her elder brothers and sister. She grew up as Gavrielle should have, happy and healthy. She learned to sew and clean and keep a home. She played with Garrette, enjoying the boyish games he brought home to share with her. They were best friends but as he went off to school they grew distant.

At ten years of age Cammila knew who her husband would be, though the would wait until she was fourteen to actually marry her. In this time she gained another two siblings, Tavetti and Saburo, a girl and a boy who she had the pleasure of helping look after. Really she loved her siblings, even when she grew tired of their bickering or childishness.

One day, about a month after her twelveth birthday she found herself at the river gathering water. It was a pleasant day and the water was clear. Then she vanished without a trace.

It was a whole new world; a dream city.

Personality: To those who know her, Abby's name is synonymous with sarcasm. Whether she's having a casual picnic or attending a funeral, a snarky comment is almost always at the tip of her tongue. Unfortunately, the dark humor that might be endearing in some is just the opposite for Abby - her cynicism runs deep, and those who get too close are painted a picture of bleakest despair. The depression Abby has struggled with for so long has seeped into her very soul, tainting it.

The rare few who dare get even closer despite the darkness, however, learn that there's more to Abby than her cold exterior suggests. Harsh judgments are intermingled with daydreams, fancies too embarrassing to speak that one would scarcely expect from such a bitter girl. Despite everything, a spark of hope still gleams within the darkness, a stubborn flame that will not be extinguished. Darkness clashing with fading light - that old, familiar story plays out anew in Abby's mind. Whether the ending will be happy or not is anyone's guess - Abby certainly isn't expecting much.

Biography: A strict but loving mother and a father who saw his daughter as the most precious of jewels - those were the parents Abby barely ever became acquainted with. When Abby was only four years old, the pair of them died in a plane crash, leaving her to fend for herself in a cold world warmed only by a dying fire. The grandmother she was left with was sickly, not prepared to take care of a child. Within a few years she, too, had succumbed to the abyss. After a brief stint in a glorified orphanage, Abby was passed on to a foster family. By then, it was too late. The impenetrable wall designed to protect her from loss had already taken hold.

Before she knew it, high school had come and gone, and Abby had learned only that friends were fickle and lovers more so. Her grades - indicative of superficial understanding of meaningless topics - were good, however, so her foster parents urged her to go to college, and lacking any real ambition, Abby succumbed to their nagging. Before long, she had moved to a fairly prestigious university, living apart from her makeshift family for the first time since falling into their custody.

That was when things started going sour. Without anyone to make her stick to her work, Abby found herself unable to focus on her studies. Instead, she explored her newfound freedom, and before long, she was pushing at its boundaries. At first, she only pulled small pranks - sneak her roommate's possessions into other rooms and the like - but, soon, she became bored with such mild mischief. She turned to thievery. A few wallets here, a tacky necklace there - and then she went too far. She started taking cell phones just to read through the text messages on them - and a few of them had their locations tracked. In what seemed like a flash, not only was she in trouble with the school, but facing criminal charges and the scorn of her foster parents, the only people she thought she could trust to be on her side.

Then... she was reprieved. Everything vanished before she was due to appear in court, replaced by an odd city that looked like it had been plucked out of a sci-fi movie. A new world... and new limits to test.

Appearance: Adam is a 1 foot tall, blue floating hologram that can appear anywhere in the city.



Encounter:
After your first introductory post, you will be awarded your first exp point. On your second post, Adam is subject to appear, seemingly out of thin air. Everyone in the city can talk to their very own copy of Adam, but he is not seen around every turn as most people that have been here long enough have no more need of him.


Function:
Adam serves as an AI that can help you traverse this grand mysterious city in which your character has awoken. He can locate any public location and any person whom your character has already met, provided the target is inside the city. He will also answer any questions your character may have so long as the question has absolutely nothing to do with anything outside the city. If you do ask anything about the outside world, he will respond with the same static answer, "I'm sorry. I am unable to answer that question." Aside from his inability to answer questions about the outside world, Adam is also limited by what you know. Consider him a means to let your character learn things that you know about the city.

Besides being something of a super navigator and limited help desk, Adam also serves a greater function. While weapons can be collected for sake of collecting, all fighting inside the city is prohibited. At any sign of violence, Adam will instantly appear and hold out a hand. A ray of blue light will cover your character's body, draining him/her of energy, enough to make him/her temporarily immobile. He will then say, "I'm sorry. I can not let you act in this manor. Please calm down." He will not stop shining the light until all signs of hostility cease.

Personality: Paris is outgoing and most of the time very friendly unless she is having a bad day (or hasn’t had her cup of coffee yet.) She has a very close knit group of friends and usually does not wander from them. She loves singing and anything music more than life itself and is extremely attached to her cat. When she is not around her friends, she keeps to herself and is quiet unless otherwise approached by someone. She is never afraid to express her opinions no matter what anyone else says about them and doesn’t care what others think of her. She is highly intelligent; more than most of the people around her that she has grown up with.

Biography: Paris was born on September 13th, 1870 in the middle stages of the Victorian Era of England. Her mother abandoned her and she has never met her father so she has been raised by her aunt. Her aunt adopted 3 children whom Paris has been raised around. They are not her siblings but she is very protective of them as if they were. She is very close to her aunt; they are more best friends than anything else. They stay up really late nights together and talk for hours about either things that are troubling them or things they just enjoy talking about.

She often wonders about her real father and has made a vow to herself to start looking for him soon. She is determined to find him and get all her questions answered. Her real mother is a disgrace to all women and Paris hates her with a passion. Whenever someone mentions her mother, she usually leaves the room or just stays quiet, trying to contain her sadness and rage. However, her hatred for her mother has also driven her to be the person she is today and strive to make a good life for herself. She has promised herself and her future children that she would never make the same mistakes or make her children feel the way she has always felt about her mother.
Music is her escape from reality. She can often be found in her room leaning out the window indulging in the beautiful songs played by the orchestra outside her Aunt’s house. She writes music and has a beautiful singing voice.

Appearance: Evette is a 9 inch tall, red floating hologram, similar to Adam



Encounter:
After obtaining 5 experience points, Evette will start to appear anytime you dismiss Adam. She will only stick around long enough to give you one piece of ominous information before disappearing.


Function:
Evette, is a mysterious holographic entity much like Adam. If you ask Adam anything about her, he will consistently respond with, "I don't understand your question." As you gain exp points, she will dedicate more effort to communicating with your character. Below are things she will reveal when your character reaches certain exp point milestones.

Exp Points 5: "Do not trust Adam."

Exp Points 7: "Adam knows more." "Adam lies." "Adam is your enemy." She will not say these things all at once, but rather, at separate times when you dismiss Adam.

Exp Points 10: "Follow me if you wish to know more." At this point she will turn and start to float away rather quickly. If you wish to find out more, you must run after her. She will lead you through the city until you arrive at the Las Vegas themed neighborhood. She will then enter the open doors of a casino and fly extremely fast to the back of the casino, disappearing into a large metal door with a space for a hand print. If you were to find this casino by any other means, the entrance will not open. Also, trying to follow someone else through the open door will not work as it shuts perfectly behind them, never allowing two people in at the same time. Once inside the casino, there is no apparent way out.

If you choose not to follow Evette, she will zoom away. From then on, she will not appear when Adam is dismissed. She will appear again later only if you try to ask Adam about her. He will still respond with, "I don't understand your question." But when he is dismissed, she will appear again, giving you another chance to follow her.

Personality: Often described as the most talkative deaf-mute this side of the Mississippi, Andy is a cheerful, happy person. A soft person with a friendly, amicable exterior, Andy hides his cynicism under a usually truthful good mood. While not a genius, he is a quick thinker, and is quicker on his feet. He sometimes acts before he thinks, and often times gets frustrated.

Andy is somber and compassionate, despite the short end of the stick he was given. Despite his circumstances, he is a perpetual optimist, and incredibly determined. He's no stranger to sorrow and pain, but tries to not be a vengeful person. When he loses his temper, his sarcasm flows freely, or as freely as it can, lacking a voice. Being a handicapped-yet-handicapable young man in Oklahoma obviously leaves plenty of sass.

Biography: Andy was born in Oklahoma City, September 1959, 2 months before he was due. Mr. and Mrs. Jones had been driving on their way to a routine doctor's appointment, when a sudden speeder crashed into their car, leaving it in a tangled mess. Mr. Jones did not survive the accident, and her injuries caused Mrs. Jones to enter premature labor. Whether it was due to the early birth or the wounds sustained in the womb, no one knows. All that was apparent was the sad, shivering, underweight baby, though crying, made no sounds.

After spending most of his infancy in the ICU, it became apparent that Andy was totally deaf as well as mute. He didn't respond to auditory stimuli, and the only sounds he reacted to were more of vibrations than sounds. His muteness was so severe that he couldn't create even an involuntary scream of pain. He was completely isolated from the world. His mother, the bleeding heart that she was, still loved her broken son, cherishing him and patiently doing her best to teach and raise him. Unfortunately, it seemed cars were destined to steal away Andy's parents. His mother was killed by a drunk driver while walking back from work.

With no relatives either available or willing to take in a deaf-mute, Andy was placed in an orphanage, as an "unadoptable". He couldn't speak, couldn't hear, couldn't read or write or sign. At age 6, he was already well aware how cruel other children could be, and how alone and isolated he was in the world.

That was when he met Simon.
Another deaf-mute, Simon was almost 17 when Andy was 7, and took him under his wing. He taught the boy how to read lips, how to write, and most importantly, how to sign and pantomime. Gradually Andy began to open up to the world, making friends that he could now communicate with, through motions and written words. He excelled at lip reading, able to keep up with conversations and catch every word that slipped through another person's mouth. It was a long, difficult, and arduous journey, but one that finally put joy into his heart.

Then, when Andy was 14, Simon left for Africa, to set up communities for the deaf there, as an aid worker. The orphanage where Andy lived began to run out of money, and rather than be bounced around, the boy left at 16. Working as a seasonal farmhand and traveling the Texas-Oklahoma border, Andy found himself becoming a capable young man. As long as work needed to be done, ranchers and farmers were willing to pay. Most were impressed with his sharp mind and responsible way of life. Deaf and dumb didn't mean he was deaf and stupid. Now, in june of 1980, he had been resting in a hobo barn, catching 40 winks before he had to go and roll up barbed wire from the construction of a new fence.

Of course, how was he supposed to know that his duties would remain forever unfinished? And that he would wake up in a new city, like something out of a comic book?

Name: Bryce Antony Lichston

Home Land: Bayern Germany/ New York Usa

Appearance:
a war torn young man
He also happens to be ripped, he's just been in The underground city so long, and constant fighting does that to you.

Personality: A gruff man, tormented by years of war. He's killed many lives, and though it was indirectly, you can still see in his eyes that he is haunted. Beneath the cold exterior though is a man who is so careing and gentle. He just wants to see his family again, he just wants to know he is doing the right thing.

He has a strong sense of moral correctness, and does all he can to abide by it. He would never purposely hurt or upset anyone. The being said he's been in Fight city for a very long time, he knows he can't kill anyone, and so like everyone else has become numb to the idea that fighting is in anyway wrong or bad.

Biography: Bryce, 25, it's world war two and he has a duty to help liberate his people. The USA gave him safe haven when the anti sematic laws first started rolling out. He and his wife had escaped Germany but still the people he left behind haunted him. He couldn't just sit around.

His beautiful wife and daughter, Amy and Cameron, he'd promised to come back just as soon as Hitler was dead in the ground. How wrong he was.

The air raids lasted for so long. Days and days and still nothing. The Nazis weren't going to win but this wasn't a matter of winning any more. This was a matter of time, and how many more innocent lives would be taken.

1944, Bryce had only seen his family in pictures for 9 years. Little Cam was almost 13 now, she was going to go to highschool, hell she even had a job. She was practically all grown up, and he'd missed it all. Insult to injury Hitler, that bastard, was still walking around somewhere on earth.

It seemed like things couldn't get any worse when his day came. It was his baby girls special day, her bat mitzvah, and he was out in German air hoping not to get blow to hell. Hopes can only take you so far and his engine blew out. The wheel pulled, the plane dropped, and when he woke nothing was quite the same....

This world would not do. Everything was so peaceful, so quiet. Was it Olam ha-ba? Was this the end of his mortal walkings? He had so many questions about the new city and his place in it. Soon he came across Adam, who was only helpful in telling him that he was not dead and that this was not the after life, nor had he been reborn. He knew he needed to return to his planet and the war, and so he searched for a way out.

As everyone else he came across Evette and he trails. The first turned him into the man he was trying to stop, aiding in the end of his family and people, there was so much blood, so much agony. For what seemed like years he withered internally, always crying inside at what he was forced to do. There was not a moment of rest until everyone he loved, and everything he stood for was wiped from existence. He only felt peace as he prepared his final sin. Gun in hand he he took one final look at his wife and daughter, only safe in a photo. He shut his eyes took a breath and pulled the trigger.

But he did not die. The world receded and he was alone in front of a door. Everything had been a dream.

With tears of joy he continued onward, passing into the hall of windows. He tried to focus through the maze but his family was through every hole in the wall. His parents, every moment of their life before and after the war started. Every moment of his life with Amy, every second of their love. And then the life he missed with Cameron, his baby growing up without him. Oh how he missed them. But his calls couldn't reach them through the glass, and watching them grow without him made him feel the loneliest. He shut his eyes and hand against the wall he made his way out. One day, he vowed, he would see them again.

As he descended into the glowing city he found it quite appalling. A city built on meaningless violence was against everything he stood for. But when in this underground the fight will come regardless, he was forced to fight back. For as long as hes known of the place, he's fought, honing his skills and looking for a way out.

Alias: The Hard Knocks Brothers

Appearance: The two "brothers" are hardly ever seen separated from one another. Occasionally, they dress casually. Otherwise, they will always dress like the bosses they are.



Encounter:
As you adventure around the underground city, you will learn of a gang known as "Hard Knocks". You can meet and interact with minor characters from this gang, but the leaders of this gang, "The Hard Knocks Brothers", will not meet with you until you have made a name for yourself. This is accomplished by gaining 50 experience points and winning at least one official fighting tournament.


Function:
These two lead the number one gang in this city. Their gang officially sponsors all the main stage tournament fights. Once you have gained their respect, as outlined above, they will become a great source of information. To get information out of them, you will need to complete some questionable actions on their behalf. OR you may wait till your character has 100 experience points and one combat ready power; then you will be able to intimidate them directly for information.

Some of these questionable tasks may include:
A) Torturing someone that has disrespected Hard Knocks.
B) Abducting someone, and bringing him/her to face the two brothers.
C) Working security at one of their more rowdy tournaments.
D) Throwing a championship match in a tournament upon their request.

You may choose any of these tasks to complete, but each time you complete one of these tasks you will only get to answer one question. The following are questions that they can answer:

"How long have you two been here?"
"Why did you start this gang?"
"Has this city always been wild like this?"
"What are the creatures that live on the city outskirts?"
"What is your hidden agenda, if you have one?"

(You may rephrase these questions as you like. Also, you can come up with completely new questions; I will try my best to answer them to the best of my ability, limited by the knowledge of these two characters of course.)

"Is there another way out of this city besides going back up to the surface city?"
(You must have at least 75 experience points to ask this question and get a real answer. Otherwise, they will dance around the question like a politician.

Personality: The Thing is very curious and inquisitive of it's surroundings, inside it's body and outside of it. It does not know what kind of Thing it is, but is very interested in the other Things surrounding it. The Thing cannot feel pain as an emotion or sensation, instead it views it as a stimulus response which it interprets and analyzes. Many emotions that come from the Repressed Place are strange to it, and though it controls the body, it still does not have complete control over the mind. The Memories are inaccessible to it, and the Instinct and Emotion subroutines run wild and often on their own agenda.

Still, the Thing lives to collect data, as that is the only thing it yet knows it can do, and wishes to protect its vessel. Every now and then it gets strange clues and signals from the Repressed Place, leading the Thing to wonder if there is another Thing inside of it?

Biography: The Thing came into existence after Andy's brain was repeatedly destroyed and recreated in the lava. While Andy and the Thing are completely unaware of each other, small parts of each other's input appear when one is in control. It is as of yet unknown if the Thing is a separate entity or a defense mechanism created by trauma. The Thing needs rest just as much as Andy's mind does, and does not seem to come out unless there is severe trauma being inflicted. Though the Thing is curious about the locked Memories and the Repressed Place, where Andy's consciousness lies dormant, it does not yet have the understanding or power to find a way to access them.

Because it is an extremely new being, there is unfortunately not much to put in it's biography, other than it acts more like a computer than a human being. While the Thing is not overtly hostile, it has no comprehension of social norms, morality, learning, or even vocabulary. For now, it seems like it will be learning quite a bit from instincts, emotion, and commentary from the mental peanut gallery.
