@Vocab Ludmilla sounds like your best bet thanks to her lasers and ability to defend herself while camping with her Dorito shields, though you'd have to ask Bad Juju about specifics like range. Frederica has cannons but she's much more of a berserker drain tank. Kei is spec'd for staying safely distanced while focusing down a single target, but she does that more by being a slippery, mobile skirmisher than by avoiding notice. She wants to be seen. A viable option might be to steal a rifle for Monika, for obvious reasons. She's a little under-supplied and can hide it in her sash. You may need to teach her to shoot, though.
I wrote up a whole list of everyone's characters and a loose description of their combat class, role in teamfighting and specialties, but it's saved somewhere and I don't think we need it.
@Antarctic Termite stealing a rifle would be child's play for my character, so that's a very viable option.
I'm more thinking someone who keeps their distance, but can also distract people. Considering me characters abilities, familiars don't matter, so there is only the need for someone to help with the Witch.
In essence, I'm looking for someone with accuracy (enough to hit a soul gem) who can keep hidden if neccasary, and has decent enough firepower that they can take care of themselves should they get in a fight.
@Vocab ... Stealth? Well, um, Monika does stealth. Not sure her throwing knives are sniping distance, but she will be throwing knives. Haha. ... Could steal her a sniper rifle, then she'll be a sniper. XD
Probably not what you were referring to, though. XD
Edit: Oh, that's actually what you were talking about. Hah.
Just so you people are aware, most guns of any description in Europe are in the hands of the police or kept in a safe under lock and key in a rifle club. The idea of owning your own gun is out of reach and alien anyone who's not ex-military, ex-police, or similar. That is, people who know all about gun safety and why locking up your funs in giant safes only they know the combination to is important. Bottom line is you're not going to find a Mosin Nagant or something just lying around in the open.
I've always wanted to own and shoot a gun of some kind. Not even for self-defense, but just to feel what it's like.
@The book of bad juju Of course. Except for hunting rifles, rifles of any kind can only really be stolen if you're a, let's see, perhaps a Magical Girl? Bonus if you're invisible? Haha. Still, Monika would have no idea where to look, and hence is not going to come to that conclusion, by my own decision. So that'd totally be depending on what she runs into in the future.
@The book of bad juju but, apparently there are no laws against carrying a knife on your person, provided it isn't a mass event, and it isn't concealed in something like a shoe or walking stick (or something that doesn't look like a knife).

An exception are shotguns, though. Hunting licenses are a tad easier to get.
"Fine then. I wish that I could be a magical girl who could use their soul gem as a purifier for others'
I can't accept this wish on the basis of balancing the RPs mechanics and themes, along with the fact it'd likely hurt everyone more than help. Due to the way despair works in this RP, taking in a lot in a short period of time will cause serious problems. It will not end well for you and cause other girls to go into despair as well.

Good to go. +2 EXP. (Or you can lower your despair but it's already at 4%)
Fair enough, that's what I was afraid of. Tried to balance it but it's fine if it's not. Hmm... Time to rethink that then.
Edit: That raises the question though if it's an issue of the wish itself or the results. Since the result is basically just transferring corruption to her instead of to a grief seed. (Until she gets one to use on herself.)
It's more or less the idea of taking in the soul gems despair into her own, or otherwise directly removing it. Perhaps you could go down a psychologist route and lower despair through emotion and the like(More effective pep talks because super psychology), but that somewhat overlaps with our medicine specialist magical girl. (Though they're more about using medicine then psychology to lower despair I suppose)

Maybe I'm thinking of it wrongly but aren't the soul gem's corruption, what actually turns the girl into a witch, and despair, the mental afflictions and general concept, different things? As I remember it, which could be completely wrong, the corruption brings about despair because it's literally their soul being darkened, and despair increases the rate of corruption because it acts as a sort of breeding ground for darkness in their soul. Considering them to be literally the same, I completely agree that the wish couldn't work. I just wasn't thinking of it that way before, and so I'm hoping to clarify before I decide on a replacement wish.
In this RP, "Corruption" and "Despair" are both measurements for the same thing, so they are the same.
Got it. Hmm...
Edit: So I'm not going with my backup wishes since they rely on different personalities than Violet's and I'd like to keep it, so I'm waiting on a second opinion from a friend of mine before I bring both a new "screw you incubators" and a regular "this is for me" wish in case that one fails too. If they both don't work, and the second should if the first doesn't, then I'll go with one of my backups.
Final look-over before I post the two here for opinions and approval of everyone, with specific attention to that of Cleopatra, of course. I'll put both the "screw the incubator" mindset wish and the "if the incubator wouldn't allow them" wish as an edit to this post. Preference matches that order, but I kind of doubt the first one will be accepted and the second might need to be toned down somehow. It's hard for me to tell what is and isn't considered too powerful to other people, so... Yeah. Again, perfectly willing to change any part, though in this case both hiders will be identical to the previous one only with the wish and ability sections altered.
With light brown hair and eyes of a slightly darker shade, Violet stands at 5 foot 4. (1.6 meters) Despite her slightly visible musculature from her above-average fitness, she is somewhat underweight at 105 pounds. (47.6 Kilograms) Typically seen in a skirt and a simple white button-up shirt under a woolen vest, she always wears some kind of shorts under her lower garments in case of exposure or damage. Her Magical Girl attire is in itself not unusual, having a full length shirt and a skirt halfway to her knees in shades of indigo and grey. Matched by long gloves that end at her elbows and stockings that raise to just above the cut of her skirt, her outfit is completed by a teardrop shaped Soul Gem resting upside down, right above the center of her rib-cage. Like her outfit, the gem is indigo in color. Despite this, she has added of her own conscious decision both a simple grey "hoodie" and a pair of shorts under her skirt, just like with her normal clothes.
Nationality: 3/4 Caucasian and 1/4 Japanese. (While not noticeable by her appearance she nonetheless makes it a point to tell this fact.) Born and lived in the U.S.
Personality: Cynical, self-deprecating. A misanthrope who distrusts her peers, hates her elders, and is protective of her youngers. Hates liars but is not above lying.
Before moving: "Weakness is underrated." (To the incubator) [See below] "Don't let your sins end in tears. Where them proudly on your sleeve." (To the magical girl who was soon to become the first witch she killed) "You do good work, furball. I should probably call you something nicer, huh?" (First seeing the incubator after killing her second witch) "Pineapples are the apex fruit. They are the potatoes of the trees." (When asked why her lunch contained a full pineapple) "I don't believe in alarm clocks. Or alarms at all for that matter." (When late to school one day) "I like to think that the animals are watching us, thinking 'we'll kill them all someday.' It makes it easier to love them." (To the incubator during the weeks she was thinking over her wish) "Maybe murderers aren't so bad." (Upon killing her first witch.) "Humans are so weak. We get so comfortable in our seats that we forget there are other things trying to coexist. Now we see that we aren't the absolute predators anymore. We're prey to what we create, with a little help from you furballs, that is. And then you give us the tools to become the apex again, just so we can become what we hunt. You make us strong. But you know..." (To the incubator)
Afflictions: [ (If possible) Depression, autism spectrum, (Asperger's (lack of social ability)) minor Schizophrenia. (Emotional flatness, apathy. Delusions, hallucinations.) ]
Wish: 'Would you like to become a magical girl? I can tell you've grown tired of your everyday life. Simply make a contract with me, and you'll be able to change it forever.' "Tell me more. I won't accept any contract I don't know the fine print of." "I wish magical girls, after becoming witches, returned to normal humans and didn't die when they were killed as witches." 'That wish is impossible.' "Then could I make that wish for myself only?" 'That wish is also impossible.' "I wish that witches came about separate from the magical girl they used to be. That the girl's soul returned to them and the witch became a separate entity." 'I cannot grant that wish, either. Please think of something that's possible if you wish to make a contract.' "Alright then, how about this? I wish I were a magical girl. There, happy now?"
Biography: A precocious girl who spent her late childhood developing and discarding countless philosophies and interests of the world, she had settled on one of irrelevance to the universe and personal worthlessness until she met the incubator. Taking many weeks to think on what she wished for, and asking many questions about what being a magical girl means, she came to the conclusion that she could overcome not entropy, but rather her lack of worth or value to the universe or even simply other people by making a wish. Her early attempts at wishes were deemed impossible, and she eventually settled on one that the incubator was capable of granting. Despite living with an indifferent mother and doting step father, her views of adults are almost always negative. Combined with a distrust of her peers fostered by a lifetime of abuse both verbal and physical for her personality and flightiness, she is a misanthrope through and through, giving exception only to those younger than their teens. Her younger brother held a special place in her heart, and added to the development of her opinion of herself when she was unable to save his life, taken by an infant playing with open electricity who he was helping watch in place of it's parents. This event, the image of her brother's corpse and the sound of his pained scream haunt her to this day. She is now in Danzig with her stepfather for his job, choosing to travel with him rather than stay with her mother.
Skills: A "jack of all trades, master of none" due to her inconsistent interests and pursuits, she is most proud of her cooking skill, her talent of singing, and her uncanny ability to judge the world around her mathematically. (Such as distance, the passage of time, vague speed, etc.)
Threads of Fate: 5
Magical Weapon: Knives.
Experience: 3 (+1 Age modifier) (Two witches killed)
Magical Ability: My Own Little World (Name she gave to her ability.)
Core ability: Her wish for magic has given her just that, magic. In a strange twist of fate, her magic presents itself similarly to that of Witches rather than Magical Girls. Her main ability is to create a small magical reality around her in place of yet parallel to the world itself, similar to a Witch's labyrinth, albeit smaller. Unlike Witches though, she is unable to create magical entities such as a Witch's familiars. While the creation of such a space requires a relatively large amount of magical power, maintaining it requires very little so long as it remains in the same state. Changes to this magical realm uses further magical power but even completely changing every aspect of it uses only half as much power as creating it does. Her maximum number of and total size/complexity of this realm(s) increases as she gains more experience creating and using them, as well as with her experience as a Magical Girl overall.
Sub abilities: - Similarly to her ability to create them, she is able to separate a magical reality from the usual reality, preventing access to and from a labyrinth at the cost of a constant drain of her magical power. - She also has the ability to use this principle more precisely in order to remove magic from a weapon that is not purely magic. (Homura's bullets as opposed to Mami's.) - The ability to nullify non-specialized magic with her own. (See: Homura's fixing her eyes, Homura controlling the truck, etc.)
Signature and Finisher: Signature: Using tough threads enhanced by magic, she turns her knives into whips of sorts, increasing her fighting dexterity. Her signature involves using these to place knives in strategic positions and trigger an attack with all of them at once, striking a target with all of them at once from many directions. Hard to dodge without skill and speed, especially for larger targets, this is an effective use of her spatial and temporal awareness. (Mathematical grasp of her surroundings, listed under "Skills.") Magical Weapon: Knives.

Magical Ability: True Sight (Name she gave to her ability.)
Core ability: - Her wish gave her exactly what she wanted, and more. The effects manifested as the ability to see labyrinths from outside of them, as well as the ability to see through illusions and subterfuge. Weak points are laid bare to her, as are strengths for both people and things.
Sub abilities: - The ability to "read" people. Her distaste for lying has been given validation, as she can now tell what is or isn't the truth. Rather, what the speaker believes to be the truth or not. (This does NOT mean she knows what the truth is or what the speaker thinks the truth is when lied to, only that they are lying.) A person's true emotions at the time are clear to her, as well. - Her natural hyper-awareness of and ability to judge her surroundings has been heightened further by her wish, now including the ability to visibly see numerical representations of quantifiable information around her. (Distance, number, sound loudness and frequency, etc.) This is to the point that she can predict the immediate future with frightening accuracy, however this is of her own mental talent rather than a result of her wish or magic.
