Horizon continued to help Mantis Boy with damage control from the earthquake. He decided to strike up a conversation, "I have seen how your human governments treats those more powerful than them, and that makes it difficult for those like you and me to help in times like this. Have you heard of the Omega League? I am looking for them, I believe that joining them is the best way to utilize our powers for good." Suddenly a beam struck a structurally compromised building, stabilizing it. Horizon looked over to see a large power suit emitting the beam. Horizon did a quick scan on the suit in order to ascertain the technology, unable to fully identify its origins, but seeing elements of the Jarav. Either way, the suit was incredibly advanced, more advanced than himself. Horizon approached slowly, "I come in peace. If you are here to help the victims of this disaster, then we have the same goal."
Kyouma heard Necron's announcement on the PA system with disdain. "The Merman wants us to steal dinosaur bones or something?" he thought to himself.
"Dinosaur bones?" Emtardas asked.
"Yeah, dinosaurs, large prehistoric lizards, they're extinct, we dig up their fossils and display them as reminders of our planet's history," Kyouma replied mentally.
"Oh," Emtardas said, "I guess since we live on living matter, we don't get fossils, although we have artificially preserved corpses, I suppose it's taxidermy instead of fossilization, for the various creatures we've encountered, such as head lice. I think you should do what he says."
"I'm not going to steal for the Merman! It's the collective history of my people," Kyouma retorted.
"You need them on your side, Kyouma. Right now they're keeping you, they're keeping US safe. Besides, he did mention non-lethal, so they're not going to kill anyone."
"They're playing me," Kyouma replied.
"It's just one museum," Emtardas pleaded, "How many museums do you think we have in your body? If you die, our entire culture, our entire collective history is gone forever. You have to think of the bigger picture."
"The bigger picture? Even though you're so small?" Kyouma joked.
"You know what I mean, you carry the burden of an entire world on your shoulders, figuratively, and somewhat literally. I just want you to make the smart choice," Emtardas eased up, seeing that Kyouma was already convinced.
"Fine, we're just going to steal some bones or gems or whatever." Kyouma thrust his fist into the air initiating his transformation into Ark. From his fingers, a black shimmering covering cascaded down his body as microscopic plates of skin flipped over to reveal armor. Soon the armor covered his entire body. Suited up, he headed over to the teleporter and soon found himself in front of the natural history museum where Zeta Squad's goons were already breaking into the place. "Emtardas, prepare a mining mission to be deployed from my right index finger, and have a team of telemetrics engineers ready in my left palm."
"Of course," Emtardas replied. Ark walked confidently through the halls of the Natural History Museum, noticing unconscious security personnel strewn about as he made his way to the vault placed way in the back and out of the way. Kyouma placed his left palm against the vault door as the telemetry engineers started to scan the door with sonar, radar, and anything they could think of to see the inner workings of the gate. Kyouma placed his right index toward a tiny keyhole. A hole opened in his finger and what looked like black dust flew out of it and into the keyhole. Kyouma could see dials and numberpads on the vault in addition to the keyhole, and hope that whatever the miners did could bypass any electronic components of the vault. He could hear the communications between telemetry and the miners, directing them where in the vault to go and which mechanisms to target. It would take some time.
Having gotten the details of their mission from General Harth, Dr. Fang approached Chi-Tah and Explosion. "Assassins...ASSEMBLE!!!" She called out in an over the top fashion. She suddenly becomes sullen and speaks, almost to herself, "Wow, that...wow...that greeting has...a lot of 'ass' in it doesn't it?" She looks up at Chi-Tah and Explosion to confirm, though it's unclear whether she's disgusted or impressed by that observation. "Well, we have a mission tomorrow. We're capturing the single most powerful mutant, besides yours truly of course, as well as the single most powerful group of mutants. Apparently we have intel on their location. They will be hostile, they will be angry, and they will be strong. If it sounds like a dumb plan, that's because it is. But just because the plan's dumb doesn't mean we have to be. We can be smart because SCIENCE! We'll need to prepare, I'll try to come up with a plan, devise a method to disable a mutant, regardless of their power, while you two peaches think of any 'upgrades' you'd like me to make for you."
