Turn 1:MeganMegan 4000 LP 5 cards
Masked Person 4000 LP 5 cards
Oh, this could work out quite well. She had a lot of options. Megan quickly did a mental run through of her duel notes to check her strategy. Hm, a neutral start, wouldn't be too great of a loss and possibly a nice gain. No need to risk too many of her cards yet,
"I'll set one monster and end my turn." Noiselessly a card shimmered onto the field. Now the question was, what kind of deck did this person use? It would be much easier to fight once she figured that out. Probably something to do with fire given the outfit.
Turn 2: Masked PersonMegan 4000 LP 4 cards, 1 set monster
Masked Person 4000 LP 6 cards
The masked person didn't move their other arm one bit, though a sixth card had appeared in between their fingers. Not too soon after, two of them seemed to dissappear behind the glove and the sound of activation could be heard behind the disk.
"Using Lancephornycus and Samurai Cavalier of Reptier I set the pendulum scale." the masked person announced, and not too soon after, two monsters raised themselves up from the floor in two pillars of light. One was a Pterodactyl with a large lance for a beak, and a row of spikes running down it's spine. Their scales were brownish red, and it's Pendulum scale counted 7. On the other end was a warrior of some description, clad in heavy armor and spear in hand. They were mounted on a very short but bulky dinosaur, gray scaled and tough to take out. It's Pendulum scale read three.
Pendulum Scale: 3-7"Pendulum of carnage, swing your deadly arc. Bring forth my monster servants in your wake." they chanted, and a ruby gem hanging off of a thin rope swung side-to-side in the air.
"Pendulum summon. Come forth, Level 6 Evolsaur Terias, Darwinos." the robotic, disguised voice continued. Out of a gaping hole in the sky, with the general area having gotten dimmer, two red beams of light shone down onto the field. A blue Pterodactyl and a black, winged Velociraptor crashed onto the field, proceeding to stare at Megan. Curiously, the floor beneath seemed to get a few scratches in it because of Terias' claws.
Evolsaur Terias: 2400 ATK 100 DEF Level 6 FIRE DinosaurEvolsaur Darwinos: 100 ATK 2400 DEF Level 6 FIRE Dinosaur"Now I construct the overlay network with my Evolsaur Terias and Darwinos." they continued the turn, a black vortex now ripping itself open in the middle of the room. Both Terias and Darwinos transformed into two red rays of energy, then jumped into the vortex and mixed together inside.
"Evolve to the next stage and take the next, perfect form. Xyz summon, Rank 6. Spread your wings and soar, Evolzar Solda." the detached voice rattled off, a brilliant flash of light exploding inside the black hole. Out of it rose a beatiful, blue shimmering dragon. It was long and thin, surprisingly humanoid too. It had arms and legs, as well as a tail reaching all the way down to the claws on their feet. A single horn adorned their head, with similar spikes on their rather compact yet lenghtily extensive wings.
Evolzar Solda: 2600 ATK 1000 DEF Rank 6 FIRE Dragon"Battle phase. Evolzar Solda attacks your face-down monster." the person continued, and Solda was quick to follow. The dragon flew up high and spun around once, storing some sort of blue energy whilst doing so. Once a few meters up, they fixated on the card that Megan had set. With not a breath to waste, Solda launched a blue ball of condensed flames towards the set monster and was intent on destroying it.
Pendulums? These nasty brutes were the thing that she'd lost to in her first duel. Hopefully this wouldn't be a repeat. Nothing to be done about the attack except watch her puny Mystic Swordsman LV.2 get destroyed, his 0 DEF no match for the azure flames. With a 2600 ATK monster out already this could get a little difficult, especially since if she killed it it would just get brought back.
"I set one monster, and one other card. Turn end." Without any emotion, trash talk or even a HINT of personality the turn order got passed to Megan again
Turn 3:MeganMegan 4000 LP 5 cards
Masked Person 4000 LP 0 cards, 1 Face-Up Monster, 1 Set Monster, 1 S/T, Scales 3-7
This guy's monotone was a little odd to say the least. Usually a normal duelist would be at least a little fired up with such an obvious advantage. Whatever, it didn't change how she was going to play.
"Alright, I'll set one monster, set one more card, and activate my spell card, Swords of Revealing Light!" The distinctive spell slammed into the field, forming a formidable barrier. In addition to the helpful stalling effect, Megan would get to see what that facedown was as well, though she probably wouldn't know its effect. She'd never played against these dinosaur things before.
The card flipped Face-Up was Evolite Lagosucho.
"Evoltile Lagusucho's effect activates. One Evolite monster gets summoned from my deck." the man drummed on, a second little lizard joining their black-scaled and yellow, glowy skinned friend.
"My Evolite Najasho." From behind Lagusucho, Najasho crawled out. It had scaled comparable to Solda, though a little lighter in tone. Its beady eyes looked at Megan, wondering who the girl was.
Evolite Lagusucho: 1200 ATK 500 DEF Level 3 FIRE ReptileEvolite Najasho: 100 ATK 2000 DEF Level 2 FIRE ReptileWell it would've happened anyway so that wasn't too bad. Uh, nothing else to do but hope her swords held out and she got some more cards to work with. It was kind of weird how real his monsters looked though. Could this guy use that solid vision stuff without a field as well?
"Turn end robo man.Turn 4:Masked PersonMegan 4000 LP 2 cards, 1 set monster, 1 set s/t, 1 Swords of Revealing Light
Masked Person 4000 LP 1 card, 3 Face-Up Monsters, 1 S/T, Scales 3-7
Like before, the masked person took their turn in silence. A card seemingly appeared out of nowhere inside of their hand, for whatever reason.
"The card I just drew, I activate. Evo-Force. By tributing Najasho, I can special summon one Evolsaur from my deck as if I used their effect to do so. I tribute Najasho to Special Summon Evolsaur Diplo." the voice started, Najasho curling up into a ball and glowing white. A bright flash blinded Megan for a second, and when she looked again, in it's place was a purple, long-necked dinosaur. Before it did anything though, some scales of Najasho seemed to have stayed behind and shone as well.
"When Najasho is tributed, I can Special Summon one Evolsaur monster from my Deck." Megan had a bad feeling about this, he was still pumping out monsters like nobody's business and there wasn't much she could do to stop him. And how the heck did he keep getting those cards? He wasn't drawing them and he wasn't playing them. Was he cheating? It was impossible to tell and only one of the many things about this person that frustrated her.
As quickly as the first, a new monster grew out of Najasho's scales. A more grown-up version of the Laguscho still on the field suddenly roared for no reason, having a magma body and scales that resemble obsidian of some kind.
"Evolsaur Cerato. My Diplo now destroys you Swords of Revealing Light." Diplo obliged, stampeding forward and trying to crush the thing within its jaws.
"Cerato also gains 200 ATK for being summoned by an Evolite."Evolsaur Diplo: 1600 ATK 800 DEF Level 4 FIRE DinosaurEvolsaur Cerato: 1900>2100 ATK 1400 DEF Level 4 FIRE DinosaurWell she didn't have much of a choice now. If she lost her swords she was pratically doomed against all the firepower out there.
"I'll activate my trap card, Fiendish Chain!" As the card flipped out dark chains raced out from the card and ensared the dinosaur, dragging it to the ground before it could reach the swords. That should be the end of that. Right?
"Mystical Space Typhoon." the person countered, with a simple spell flipping up from its set position and making quick work of the annoyance. A typhoon similar to the one from inside the classroom whipped up, cutting off the chains before they had a chance to do anything. Fiendish couldn't get the effect in, so Diplo was able to smash the Swords of Revealing Light with ease.
Well this was bad. Very, very, very bad. Now the only thing standing between his army of dinosaurs and her LPs was a monster with probably less DEF than anything he was going to attack with. Was she going to lose already?
The person still didn't show any sign of emotion, but did seem to pause for the moment. They had the win, but there was also reason for them to believe it were a bad idea to attack with this relatively weak field. They did it anyway, though.
"I switch my Lagusucho to Attack. Battle Phase. Cerato, destroy the set card." the near-robot commanded, the beast kicking off into a sprint and trying to bite into the card.
Not much but at least she could get a little payback. Her D.D Warrior Lady broke into faintly connected pixels but she managed to grab onto the dinosaur that had crushed her, both monsters warping out of the battlefield entirely. Aaaand her LPs were wide open.
The (wo)man behind the mask didn't seem to care much for Cerato getting pulled into the next dimension.
"Cerato's effect does not activate, because it could not destroy your monster. But you are aware of what happens now, yes? Lagusucho. Bite the girl." the person commanded, still not even twitching with their body. The little lizard crawled over and bit Megan's ankle, and probably to her surprise, she could actually
feel the sharp teeth cutting through her shoes and tearing open some skin. As one might expect, getting bitten was quite painful.
Megan 4000LP -> 2800 LP
Megan took a step back as the flesh was stripped from her shin. What the heck? This wasn't even solid vision she was bleeding from that! What kind of duel was she in? Megan looked at the wound as she backed away from the reptile, maybe... this hadn't been such a good idea.
"...I told you before I had no time to deal with a kid who was in over her head. You have had your chance to back out, and did not heed the warning. Diplo." The purple, long-necked dinosaur quickly responded, charging over to Megan with incredible speed. Before she had a chance to evade, it arrived and turned the body to smash its sturdy tail into the girl. She was sent flying, knocked onto the floor. The impact was quite forceful, enough to feel it for a day. All things considered, though, nothing seemed to be broken.
Megan 2800 LP > 1200 LP
Megan let out a groan at the heavy impact as she skidded along the ground for a bit. It was like being in an action duel turned up to 11, with no action cards to save her. So pretty much the worst thing ever.
"Solda." the last, dreaded command resounded. The blue, humanoid dragon looked back at its master for a second. Something akin to hesitation crossed the monster's... Jaw. It wasn't very clear due to a lack of varied expression, but they flew up anyway even if begrudgingly. They then paused, staring down at the girl sprawled on the floor with pity.
Aw hell no. She was fed up with people looking down on her and she wasn't going to stand for a freaking duel monster giving her the same treatment. Megan started to her feet clumsily and defiantly stared down the monster.
"Don't you dare give me that look you oversized lizard, this duel is over and don't either of you dare pretend any different!" The last part of that comment was aimed at both the monster and its master.
The dragon just gave a sad nod, knowing the girl had no clue what was about to happen. A blue burst charged up in between its jaws.
"Final Evol Stream." the masked person called. Immediately after, Solda launched another azure stream of flames at Megan. It hurt just like them too, burning up her skin yet without any lasting damage. An upwards spiral was what she was consumed in, and it went on for a good half of a minute before it stopped.
Megan LP 1200 > 0
Megan grit her teeth, oh that hurt way worse than she thought it would. She'd thought the lasers were bad but this was at least ten times worse. Unable to keep her composure at the end, Megan let out a small shriek as the flames finally died out and she collapsed to the floor breathing heavily. Well... that... was... not fun... at all. Through blurry eyes Megan looked up from the ground at the masked person. Who was this person? What did they want? Why... why were they here? What happened now?
WINNER: MASKED PERSON!
