Hello all! I've been looking through the roleplays, and haven't yet seen one based around the House of Night books, by P.C and Kristen Cast.

If you're familiar with the books, not much will need to be explained - for people who haven't read them (Although I definitely recommend them, they're an excellent read), it's based very much around vampires. Not like traditional vampires, but vampires all the same.

I haven't got a solid plot in my head at the moment, still bouncing around a few ideas - but the plot will be an original one. Which means original characters, and the setting will not be at the House of Night in Tulsa. So no Zoey and the gang. I'm also considering an original antagonist.

Only thing you'll have to know for now is that this will be a High-Casual roleplay, so I'll be wanting decently written posts out of everyone.

I just started reading the series earlier in the year and I'm loving it.

I clicked on this thinking it'd be a zombie roleplay but it turned out to be better: vampires!

I'll have to get my hands on the books soon since I think I've seen them around my library but I just never gave them a shot since I'm not an avid reader.

Well, as we won't be following the books' plot or characters, you may not have to read the books if you don't want to.
And thanks for showing interest guys! Once two more people have popped up showing interest, I'll make an OOC and get the link up.

Also, you are quite welcome to make more than one character, in case you're getting ideas for your character already.

If I do ever end up reading the series, I'll let you know!

Well, I figured if we tried to make things happen at the same time as the events in the books, we weren't going to get anywhere - or, at the very least, there'd be contradictions to the canon. If disasters and old Gods are popping up on side of the world, it's hardly going to be likely it would occur on the the other side, at the same time.

Therefore, I've decided to make this an AU - so, the events in the books haven't occurred, nor will they.

The plot I've got in my head does bring in some Deities other than Nyx - however, Kalona won't be making an appearance, nor will any of the Cherokee myths. As our House of Night is located in the UK, the Deities I'm bringing forward are Anglo-Saxon ones; the majority of which are simply the Norse Gods with different names. A war is going to erupt between a few of them, and our House of Night will be pulled into the middle of it thanks to the acts of some of the Professor's there.

Like the books, the students - or rather, our characters - will be the main force, as they've been granted Affinities by Nyx.

There are a few bits a pieces I need to think through, but I have the basis of the plotline there.

Well I actually like that idea. What country is out House of Night located? How are we going to distribute affinities? Since I'm sure some people are going to want the same ones at one point or another.

The House of Night is in England - I decided on that against the other countries because England is the most powerful of the four countries in the Kingdom - and also avoiding Scotland, due to the Isle of Skye.

As for Affinities, it will mainly be a first-come, first-served basis. However, from what we can see in the books, the affinity often lays in line with the character's personality, so that will be taken into account. I'm still debating over allowing each character to develop two affinities, one main, and one small, but then I'll have to categorise what is classed as big and small, when all of them can be quite powerful in their own right. So, I may not go ahead with that.

If somebody wants one that has already been taken, I'll allow it - but obviously we can't have seven different characters all with an affinity for fire when the other ones are being ignored. So, it'll be watched.

Apologies for the delay in this guys. Obviously this isn't attracting anymore attention, so I'll try and get an OOC up this weekend for you all to take a look at the plotline and CS, and write up your characters. Hopefully that'll catch a few more people, but if not, we can always start with just the four of us.

I just saw this in your sig and kinda fan-girled out a little to be honest. I`m on the fourth book so far and I`m absolutely loving the series. I`d very much be interested in joining.
