You mean to tell me nobody died in the Avengers movies? yeah right.

You wanna know the difference? Both Avengers movies made it a point to show the heroes actively saving lives.

Superman never destroys a building. Every building that is destroyed is because Zod or one of his lackeys threw him through it. Superman saved THE ENTIRE WORLD btw. People get killed in the comics all the time, read Justice League Origin in the new 52 and tell me there weren't casualties. That had the entire league. You mean to tell me nobody died in the Avengers movies? yeah right.

I'm not gonna comment on the New 52 Justice League because I think it has similar problems and sacrifices too much to make characters look 'cool'.
But the Avengers devote minutes of screentime to the Avengers saving people. That's what I needed from MoS, some kind of thought about the people in danger rather than Mortal Kombat style brawling, the slight glower he gives Pete Ross in ihop doesn't count. Avengers 2 spends about half an hour clearing civilians from the battlefield before they actually go for the big villain.

Except those spacesuits sure didn't block their powers when they were blowing up Smallville did they? Nope, they were fully powered in those suits.

You know what, fair point, I'd forgotten that. I got distracted by all the advertisements and logos that were being smashed to pieces. :P

Yeah yeah, forgot there's a lot of New 52 hate out there as well. Watch my counter argument link up there. And read the description of the video.

There were quite a few adds in the movie, no argument there.

By the way, new Lex post.

Once Superman and Zod start fighting, find me one scene where Supes puts civilians first. In all that destruction porn, they couldn't fit in a single shot of Superman of shielding someone from an explosion or moving someone out from underneath falling rubble? In the first Avengers, you have Hulk saving an office building from the Leviathan and Cap rescuing hostages in a bank. MoS has no equivalent in its third act.

He snaps Zod's neck to save a family. That is a scene in the third act. He also has no super team to fall back on as he has a villain with the same power level as him focusing all of his attention on him.

A villain who at any point could hand been momentarily incapacitated to allow for such a scene, if the writers cared more about making their hero a hero rather than simply seeing how many buildings they could flatten.

Good news is, Twenty One Pilots are very good in concert and screaming their lyrics is a very good way to wind down.

Bad news is, extrapolating tonight and the last couple days (and the next few) to the next couple weeks is making my work schedule look like holding up a social life, a girlfriend, and time to read and write all at the same time, very difficult. So I'd like to relinquish Harvey Dent back to the mass populace and no, you can't use my sheet find your own.

I'm holding on to Daredevil, though. Very tightly. And I'm sure you'll see me serving up smiles in the future when I get some 'fre tiem'.

Did I spell that right? I'm not sure what it is.

Edit: Daredevil issue#2 is currently in the works, though. Tentative release date tomorrow evening after work.

The Avengers sure did kill a lot of those aliens that were attack New York didn't they? Hawkeye arrows, Hulk smashing, Iron Man guns, etc. And before you go all "but they were aliens!" so was Zod. Guess killing a bunch of faceless minions is morally justifiable though. And Fraknly having an invasion on that scale without more collateral damage is unrealistic.

But anyways I think we're talking in circles here, you'll continue being on the hate train because the internet complained a bit and I'll continue loving this movie because I think it is amazing.

Haha you like that? I almost didn't do it. No more hints though, I want people to read the post.

@Roman Yeah, real life is a bitch sometimes. Getting in the way of playing our imaginary superhero games. So inconsiderate. Anyway, I'm sure we'll all be willing to wait slightly longer than usual for your Daredevil posts if they're all as good as the last one. So don't rush on our behalf.

I'll continue feeling let down by a movie I was really hoping to enjoy. I genuinely hope you keep on loving it though, after all it's all part of the same overall niche that has quite literally put us all in the same thread. :D

The fact that you had to non sequitur back to the killing issue just proves that there's no argument against my second point. MoS Superman doesn't prevent one iota of collateral damage because the writers chose to ignore it.

But I'll humor you. At what point did I say no superheroes could ever kill? I didn't. I said Superman shouldn't ever kill. In no way does that ever translate to the Avengers. Steve Rogers is a soldier. Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton are assassins. Thor is a warrior. They all have killed in the past, so it's natural that they'll use that option when facing an invading army. Superman doesn't kill. Outside of a few rare examples in 75+ years of comics, it's just not a part of his character.

Furthermore, please don't suggest that I'm just some shill incapable of forming my own opinion. I dislike MoS for my own reasons, which as you can see are quite important to me.

@Eddie Brock Superman attempted to bring the fight to space, but Zod chucked him back to earth. I agree that the final act could've been handled better, though.
