Name: Bita Noraha Stroma
Age: 28
Sex: Female
Race: Formerly Pundambayan / Composite Entity
Height: 6'11"
Weight: 672 lbs
Physical Description: What was once a short and stocky, but fair skinned and soft faced woman, is now a towering demonic figure. Though her visage is now twisted and far from the gentle faced warrior woman, she is not a hideous abomination of nature. More horrifying she retains a haunting beauty, the once squared face is now very angular and sharp. By conventional Pundambayan beauty standards, her face is totally alien to them, by human standard she would look like an exceptionally beautiful woman. The face that she wears is like a mask to her head, beyond the high cheekbones and slightly pointed ears lies a totally smooth and round head. Like her face is a mask attached to a sphere that is attached to her neck. Her head does not have hair, but it does have five very long and sinnewy antlers that seem to flow and wave like hair in the wind. They are positioned behind her ears and one just above her forehead, the other above her eyebrows on the same level as the forehead antler.
Bita's skin is almost grey in appearance, though certainly closer to starch white rather than greyscale skin. Almost ghostly in its color, the brightness of her skin is sharply contrasted by the blue-black liquid that makes up her eyes and clothing. Lines of silver, gold and red flow sporadically through the inky clothing that she wears and her eyes. The clothing changes shape to suit her mood, though it is frequently a tight bodysuit that covers all but her shins, shoulders, stomach, and face. The suit trails behind her in paper thin streaks that begin and end at random intervals.
Psychological Description:Before being broken by her father's death, Bita was already a bit unstable. To say she was a totally innocent girl who had been turned insane by a single event would be an extravogant lie. Due to her father's absence while she was young, the high standards she was held to just to live up to her father's legacy, discrimination for her occult word, and her failures as a commanding officer, she was on edge constantly right before the final blow had been struck. Though she was very clever at hiding it behind a veil of silenec and brooding frustration, she snapped. Psychosis took her shortly before she allowed herself to be so horribly tainted by the Dark Well.
The Dark Well twists all things, and since Bita was too strong for the well to twist her body to oblivion, it twisted her mind to that end. What was once a girl who wanted to live up to her father's success has become an obsession with perfection. What was once the mental scars of being discriminated against have become deep hatred of lesser beings. What was one a daughter's sadness over her father's absence has become a hatred of her father. What was once her hatred towards the man who killed her father has become a hatred of all who dare to wield power. The twisted world view created a mind befitting of such a haunting visage, Bita is now an obsessive sadist with a mission to eradicate all those who wield power that could possibly oppose her.
Bita's goal in life now? To see all things crumble at her feet so that she might create it anew in her image. The Dark Well drives her mind, and if she were to succeed, she would see all life in the universe made whole with the well.
Training:Advanced Off-World Martial Training: Pundambayan martial arts are simple and direct, the two martial arts that Bita practiced before being corrupted were actually adaptations of alien martial stances, adapted to the abilities of a word user. Bita is not self taught, and these disciplines are to them as Buddhist Martial arts are to us.
- Konkay Wahra: A hard martial art that focuses on harsh blows to vital parts of the body, when combined with the abilities of a Word Holder, it utilizes a combination of melee range bursts and long range blasts.
- Corrupted: As the Dark Well allows her more abilities than simply her word of power, Konkay Wahra is now a totally offensive martial art that intermingles incredibly powerful strikes and an incredibly broad range of projectiles fired at both close and long ranges.
- Dirihara Bon: A soft defensive martial art that focuses on deflecting strikes and using the weight of your opponent against them. When combined with the abilities of a word holder, it utilizes blasts of power to disable rather than kill.
- Corrupted: The same as Konkay Wahra, Dirihara Bon has been twisted by the new abilities that she demonstrates. Now it is a fusion of offense and defense, though focusing most on defensive measures. Using offensive measures in short range as a deterrant for direct attack, and repelling all force with tremendous prejudice.
Abilities:Tainted Pundambayan Physiology: Bita's physical abilities were all doubled, even her tremendous durability. This is even further evidenced by the wholly unnecessary organs that she now has. Bita's only important organs are her heart and brain now.
- No Biological Necessities: Bita no longer needs to eat, sleep, breathe or produce excrement to survive.
- Incredible Strength: 18 tons lifting capacity before struggling. 22 tons maximum.
- Incredible Speed: 140 mph running speed, 180 mph sprinting speed.
- Incredible Durability: Bones stronger than steel, skin tougher than studded leather. Her bones are now more flexible than titanium, so breaking them is a chore. Her skin is also more resiliant than rubber. Her skin is capable of surviving both exiting and re-entering the atmosphere. She is capable of surviving in space with no suit.
- Incredible Stamina: Run, work, fuck and fight for hours on end. Sometimes even days.
- High and Long Jump: 50 foot vertical, 90 feet horizontal.
Omnilingualism: The Gods speak every language, their children, the Demigods speak all languages. Those exposed to the Dark Well speak all languages.
Flight: Oddly enough, this is a uniform ability of all beings related to the Dark Well. It was a latent ability of all demigods, and all exposed to the Dark Well gain the power of flight. Not through wings, but through seemingly inexplainable lift and thrust that comes from their bodies. Bita is capable of sustained flight for indefinite periods of time, with her maximum cruising speed being just under the speed of sound. She is capable of reaching high enough speeds to exit the atmosphere for bursts lasting only one or two minutes.
Occult Word of Power, Jaggar Roh: As with all word users who have been exposed to the Dark Well's power, Jaggar Roh has been mutated like the user itself. No longer can the word be passed down through her bloodline, it is now an ability exclusive to Bita herself. Jaggar Roh is very much the same as it was before, though now the crimson gold beams of pure energy are vicious viscous blasts of thick blue-black sludge. Carrying the same force, heat, and effects they are now much more threatening than before. Jaggar Roh is
still the word of Desolation, and its purpose is to destroy all those before the user.
All words of power draw from numerous universal sources of power; Ki, Chakra, Aether, Mana, so on and so forth. This allows it to maintain a constant flow of energy, so no matter how tired the user gets, it maintains the same force as it would have at the beginning of the fight.
Jaggar Roh is the word of Desolation, its blessing (Technically a curse) is to destroy all before the the user.
- Blast Rings: All words of power on Pundambaya function through rings, her rings are positioned in front of her hands, beneath her feet, two on her back behind her shoulder-blades, and one on her forehead. Each of these rings serves as a platform for projecting the powers of Jaggar Roh. These powers manifest as beams of volatile energy that reacts to matter in much the same way as electricity. Once a perfectly smooth projection, the twisted Jaggar Roh is now a swirling mass of thick liquid. Expulsions of finger-like arcs grow and fly from the projection with a fraction of the power of the central blast.
The rings, though there were once crimson gold, are now blue-black and drip very slowly. Though they drip, they lose no mass. Though technically useless in most contexts, the rings that manifest themselves serve as a slight reduction of projected forms of energy. Though they are too thin to actually provide armor.
Jaggar Roh Energy: Official studies at the Pundambayan Institute of Science and Mysticism have fully analyzed the nature of Jaggar Roh, under consent of Bita. The projections from the rings are comprised almost entirely of thermal and kinetic energy, though the interaction with matter is much more violent than it naturally should be.
As it passes through matter that can be destroyed by its beams it causes the destroyed, primarily liquefied, material to become irradiated. At a comparable level to polonium 210, meaning that it cannot penetrate the skin. However, if ingested, one gram of the material becomes toxic enough to kill millions of people. (This doesn't count towards gases, as the temperature of the gas in question increases so rapidly that it rises too fast to become a problem for people on ground level.)
As well, if it contacts other projections of energy. Such as lasers, plasma, or kinetic blasts, it will repel them if it carries sufficient force to outstrip the force of the opposing projection.
The official temperature, charge, force and speed of these projections are listed as follows;
1,560 Kelvin(1,286 Celsius, 2348 Fahrenheit). Hot enough to boil gold.
13 metric tons of force per second of projection for cylindrical projections.
15 tons of force flat for small projections.
925 mph for cylindrical projections.
1,850 mph for small projections.
Jaggar Roh Projections: It once only had four projectile forms, now it bends to her will in a wider variety of shapes. As it is no longer a directional energy, but a physical mass that she creates(or transports) from her rings. As well, when the projections slam into their target location, they tend to banana outwards in four directions as the energy is dispersed across something that it can't entirely destroy. If the target would be destroyed, howver, the projections simply pass through. Three waves of energy uses up about as much stamina as a punch. Meaning that utilizing its power is exactly comparable to throwing a volley of punches constantly.
Old Manifestations:
- Rounded Cylinder: A sustained blast of energy that releases waves of force in rapid succession. (3 waves per turn.) While it cannot be charged, it can be sustained as long as she maintains the stamina to persist.
- Pointed Cylinder: Similar to the rounded cylinder, it is sustained. However, the pointed cylinder does not just slam into the object. Instead it penetrates through it, if it carries enough force and heat. It has the same rapid successive strikes and stamina cost as the previous.
- Sphere: A striking blast that carries massive force at high speed, used to catch foes off guard or pick off enemies from a distance. These are blunt objects that are used for striking, instead of killing.
- Spear: A penetrating blast that carries as much force as the previous, however, focused into a thin and sharp object. A deadly tool for combat that is used for long range sniping or close range finishers.
New Manifestations:
>list>
Lashing Wave: Due to the projections now being material, their directional momentum can be controlled by quickly swinging her arms and dragging the beam behind them. In effect, she can create whips from this incredibly volatile substance. Lashing their victims with similar force to the cylindrical projections.
Slicing Wave: By flattening the lashing waves, Bita can create thrown blades. These blades carry the same force and heat as other projections, however, they have keen edges and can slice through most things with ease.
Curved Blunt/Sharp Cylinder: Curving her projections is a new development that might have come naturally to her as she grew, it was forced into her by the well's corruption, and now she uses it to bend her projections so that she can decieve opponents who think they can hide behind walls. She can only bend cylinders once, and only at 90 degree angles. They lose half their speed and force if they are bent.
Returning Sphere/Spear: This was a natural evolution of the curving projections, this was learned independently. Bita can fire off a spear or sphere and return it to her hand. No matter how far it goes, as long as it doesn't strike something, she can repeat this process over and over again. Once it is fired, it carries the same force as usual, on the return trip it loses half its speed and force.
Omnidirectional Barrage: From all of her projectile rings, Bita launches spheres blades or spears that hover just outside of them for a split second. Then they all fire towards a selected target. These are exactly the same as the spheres or spears that she can fire normally. However, after firing they converge inwards into a sort of cone shape and then shotgun outwards. It looks like an hourglass from the side. However, this ability CAN be used with all of her other projections. To varying result. Anything other than small projections, however, and it takes more than a single turn to utilize.
- Cylindrical Projections: From every channeling point, Bita fires off blasts of energy that seem to encompass her entire figure before swirling around her and firing directly forwards. This creates a colossally powerful blast that can level mountains if fired at the base. It uses so much stamina that she can't actually sustain flight for a short period afterwards.
- Whip Projections: Like the above, however, much more violent in short range. From her body she projects them as straight lines of energy before spinning in place rapidly. Reaching about 100 rpm, she turns into a spinning ball of blades that can either crush bodies or slice flesh apart.
Black Blade Projection: As her powers developed, she learned that if she focused hard enough on a single projection surface, Bita could manifest and utilize a sword from her projection rings. This blade has no force behind it except when she swings it, then it functions exactly as a sword should. However, this blade still has the same physical properties as all of her projections.
Backstory:It was months after his final battle that anyone actually worried about Kanitah, the hero was often out on adventures and on his way to fight another battle for justice and heroism. When six months passed, worry began to grow in the public eye. A petition was held, forcing government officials to ping his ship's telemetry. It was a common theory that Kanitah's ship had scuttled on some backwoods planet. When the telemetry report came back that his ship was not only docked, but it had been docked for half a year, worry grew to terror.
A search crew was sent out, it took another few months for them to reach the mountainous planet orbiting a main sequence star. Cursory scans revealed the location of his ship, as well as a fading heat trail left behind by another ship. Ignoring the heat trail was the biggest mistake they could have ever made, as they found the marker left behind by the Angar Ryllan recovery crew.
Beneath the marker was the body of Kanitah, left brutalized after combat and post-mortem surgery, as well as decayed by time. It was a grizzly sight.
When they returned it to Pundambaya to be buried, social uproar erupted. Media flared with sensationalized stories of who killed the Hero of Pundambaya. One such newsline led to the worst possible outcome, nothing could undo what had been done.
It was in Kanitah's own house, Bita had just returned that morning. The man that she had been hunting never showed up, so she was forced to return home in shame. It was almost like clockwork, she returned to her home to find her mother watching television, the news running its mouth once again about the death of Kanitah Noraha Ayna, the Hero of Pundambaya.
Tora, distraught that her husband was once again being used as a tool to garner views, didn't notice Bita coming in.
She didn't notice Bita dropping her helmet to the floor.
The newscaster didn't know what he was doing when he began to read the report. The headline was: "New Theories in the Kanitah Murder."
The next dialogue was the greatest mistake in the history of Pundambaya.
"Now, onto you, Tarsora."
"Thanks, Hadoram. Our records indicate that Kanitah Noraha Ayna left Pundambaya 2 on a mission to hunt down his daughter and bring her home. Obviously he had been hurt recently, returning from one of his many adventures." Bita's heart broke, her father had died in the search for her. She had been the cause of his death. The actions of blind frustration had driven her father to chase her, and if he hadn't chased her.
He would still be alive.
"Of course, Tarsora, that's pretty common knowledge. Hey, I was the one who reported that, day one!"
"You sure were, Hadoram. The common thread seen these days, is that it might have been Bita who killed Kanitah!"
It was tangible how feigned his surprise was. "No! What could lead people to that conclusion?"
"The killing blow and several of the wounds are consistent with energy based mysticism, and as you well know, she is a holder."
"Of course, she's the holder of the Word of Desolation. What does that have to do with this, Tarsora?" In her ears, that's all she needed to hear. She missed the sobbing of her mother in the room nearby, she missed the next few back and forths of the casters. Ringing was all she heard now. A vein bulged in Bita's forehead as the caster's went on and on, accusing her of fratricide. Anger seethed in her, boiling her blood in her veins with a combination of panic and rage.
A few words got to her from the television. "While this theory is mostly insubstantial, law enforcement has put out an APB for Bita Noraha Stroma. If she is found, she is to be reported immediately. If you are watching this, the law wishes to speak to you for questioning. If you have nothing to hide, then turn yourself in."
Something in Bita snapped.
Everything in her world had come crumbling down around her in one foul swoop.
Kanitah, her father, dead because of her.
Tora, her mother, grieving because of her.
Pundambaya, her home, lost a hero because of her.
And now the world believed that she was her father's murderer.
In a rage induced panic, Bita snatched her helmet from the floor and ran out the door. Tora didn't even know she had returned, her sobbing had drowned out her footsteps.
It would be months before Bita was heard from again.
Dark Lock, a military outpost on Pundambaya 5. That's where Bita was found.
Dark Lock is a top secret installation where only Highly Trained Word Holders with Pundambayan Relics are chosen for the guard rotation, a single shift can last months. In the hellish wastes of the derelict planet, the weakest guards are often killed off to protect the secrets that are held within.
Years ago, Bita had been chosen to guard this place. She knew what was here, and she wanted it.
Fully armed, Bita was a terrifying force to reckon with.
An Occult Word of tremendous power.
A perfected Word Engine.
An Ancient Pundabayan Relic.
And a High Mobility Pack.
The guards put up a fearsome resistance, violently fighting her to the best of their abilities. It was days on days of non-stop fighting, with numerous breaks inbetween. There was no chance of back-up for the guards, and no chance of escape for Bita.
Something had broken inside of her, a hole had opened up where her heart had once been. This lead to a desperation to fill the whole with power, and the Dark Well was the only source of power great enough.
Seven days of fighting, thirty two men were killed by Bita's hand. She was not left unharmed, most of her body was broken. Her engine kept her pieced together well enough to crawl to the gates. Forced to use her word again, just to open the door, she blasted her way inside and dredged herself to the edge of a stinking quagmire of pulsating ooze.
This, is the Dark Well.
A thick murky liquid that changes from red to black to brown to silver, it is the combined liquid essence of four demigods that sacrificed all of their power to create a new god in their place. It had failed, and instead created a seed of corruption unparalleled in the known universe.
Through the broken mask of her helmet, she saw faces of the demigods who had chosen to create this. They muttered words of godspeak to her, the ancient tongue clawing at her brain painfully. Mortal ears were never meant to be graced with the language of the gods.
They spoke beautiful and terrible things to her, compelling her to reach within. For a moment, memories of her father. Words of motivation, telling her that what she was doing was wrong. Telling her to go back.
She was too deep into this now, turning back wasn't an option.
Her left hand shot into the pool, followed by her right hand. Immediately the suit was torn away from her flesh, painfully destroying it as it entered the pool. Bita raised her hands to her helmet and poured it over her face and into her mouth.
Immediately noticeable was the pain, it hurt more than anything had ever hurt before.
No mortal entity witnessed her transformation, maybe some curious gods or ascendant beings watched, but nobody of great benevolence. As she was not interrupted.
The darkness filled her, changed her on a profound level. Mutating her body into an aspect of desolation and war, merely a shadow of her former self.
From the well she departed to the stars, the inhospitable hands of space gripping her gently as her new form revealed new ability.
Bita's mind, body, and spirit united and twisted. Like different putties in the hands of a child, molded into a new form that steals aspects from all three.
The Dark Well had turned Bita into death incarnate.
Into the stars she flew, the only thing driving her now?
Revenge.
