"It ain't good for my heart to see a sudden explosion while I'm playing boss." Alexander said as he reached the rooftop, one hand inside his pocket and the other holding the metal bat that was resting on his shoulder. He had arrived just in time to hear that they're going out. So he wasn't assigned to anything? Cool. Either way was good for him anyway. Although he wasn't one to actually want to risk his life, connecting the metal bat onto the skulls of the living dead was quite a pleasing feeling, makes him feel safe.

"Oh Moses, can I talk to you about something?" He asked. It seems they're already serious in the morning so he might as well explain everything now. He proceeded to go in front of their boss. The map was folded neatly in his left pocket and his hand was actually on it, as if safeguarding it from something even if there was nothing that would endanger it.

"The fact that we haven't put a leash on you yet shocks me." He said furrowing his brow at Kyre but let out a sigh. "If, and this a very a big if, I let you come do you promise to actually do what you're told? We do not need a repeat of that pet zombie incident." Moses was pretty forgiving but that little stunt had almost been fatal. "If you do anything that will harm this group, you and I are going to have a very big problem."

He lightened up considerably when Alex approached. "That was all Jess so you can go blame her for your heart problems." He said raising his hands defensively in a joking manner. "So what is it you want to talk about? I hope its good news this time."

Jane was going to reply to Moses's question, but was once again cut off before a single word slipped through her lips. This time, the person doing the cutting off was a girl named Jess. Jess was probably the only one there who rivaled Jane on a mental level, although there knowledge was in different areas. Anyway, Jess seemed excited. Disturbingly excited. Jane silently sighed in annoyance, but did not interrupt Jess as she rambled on about clearing way for vehicles or some such. Jess then threw some sort of jar over the side of the building.

Jane watched it fall, and eventually explode with a loud bang. The sudden noise and combustion startled Jane, drawing some sort of "Wagh!" sound out of Janes mouth and causing her to stumble backwards. The stumble became a fall when Jane tripped over her own feet and fell butt first on the cold hard ground of the roof. The surprised look on her face was soon accompanied by a look of pain, then a look of embarrassment. The expressions faded in the same order until only embarrassment remained. Her face was red as a tomato due to this embarrassing incidence. After a few seconds she pulled herself off the ground and rubbed her now sore rump. She then shook her head, deciding not to focus on her backside, and looked back towards Moses. "Oh, um...n-not so good. Th-That's the other thing I was going to ask...I was wondering i-if I could accompany the s-scouts and scavengers...I'm not sure they'd kn-know what kind of medicine to get..." she then looked back to the group of adventurer type people. "N-No offense! You guys do things I could never do! Medicine...just isn't exactly your guys' f-forte..."

Alexander let out a chuckle because of that. "Uh..." He hesitated for a moment but then shook off his doubts and then took out the map and then opened it after putting the bat down. Moses would see the cross marks on most of the markets and stores that were close to the school. "Not good news, sadly. Bad actually. We're running out of places to scavenge. We'll have to leave the area to get some supplies when it runs out and seeing as how many we are here... It would be soon." He pointed out.

Going outside the school and going downtown would be suicide without a vehicle in their hands but they wouldn't have a choice soon. He wanted to alert their leader so he could make a good decision. It would be better to be prepared right?

Just as Noah reached the roof, he was greeted by Harley to whom he gave a slight nod. He took a seat away from the others as he listened in on what the plan was for today. It seemed like the scavengers and scouts were getting ready to head out to see what they could find, and Scott had just returned from his patrol with a report for Moses. Hunter had pointed out the obvious which was the supply situation, as they had been running low for weeks, not to mention they needed they needed a vehicle, more than one if they could find them. In addition to keeping a lookout for threats, other survivors, and food supplies, Noah had been keeping an eye out for vehicles that looked like they were fit to run, even vehicles that just needed a little maintenance. There had been an area that he had been keeping an eye on for quite some time, but as luck would have it, it was overrun by the undead, so he did not bring it up figuring it would be a waste of time. It looked like it had been occupied by a family of four who looked like had been there for some time, not since the whole epidemic started, but long enough that they had time to settle in. After a few weeks of scoping the place out, it looked like the family had disappeared, for he had not seen them for a long time. If they had made it out, they must have left SOME stuff behind due to the fact that there was no way they could take everything after the undead crowded around that area. For now there were things to do and a plan already set in motion, but he would bring it to Moses' later.

Harley shrugged just letting the group carry on. A nice bunch, but sometimes a girl needed a break from all the chaos, and a little hunting expedition might do the trick. "Alrighty. If everyone knows what they're doin', I reckon Hunter and me will be off. We'll see y'all before supper time. Y'all be safe out there, ya hear?" The scavengers had their job, and so did that crazy Jess and the doctor Jane for the most part, so Harley would just leave them to it with a smile. She followed Hunter down the stairs waving goodbye to everyone. She giggled at his little Harley Quinn crack. Never took the boy for a comic book fan. Of course she wasn't much either. That was more Liz's thing.

Before Harley joined him though, she made a quick stop to grab her revolver and her bowie knife. Her daddy's gun was a hand canon no doubt, but it wasn't best suited for hunting dear. For that, she had an old lever action 243. It was one of the few guns left behind by the survivors...the ones that didn't make it unfortunately. Truly, Harley felt bad for using it, but morality was something that...didn't seem to exist anymore in this new, twisted world. She loaded a few slugs into the rifle and cocked the lever, slipping the long rifle behind her back and making her way over to the makeshift stable to get her other hunting buddy, Riley.

"C'mon boy. You and me are gonna go shootin' deer." Harley petted the horse with a smile and climbed onto him grabbing his reigns and making sure her saddle was well snug. Last thing she needed was to fall off and break a leg or two, especially if they got overrun.

Finally, she trotted the horse over to Hunter, following close beside him. She saw the deer out in the distance about to aim herself with the 243, but held back halting Hunter, "Hold on now, Hunter. That's a doe. We can't shoot her. What if she's got babies?" As tempting as the taste of fresh venison was to Harley, it wasn't worth splintering up another family. The apocalypse has done that enough...to everyone.

@Drakeonis@Framing A Moose

Liz was mostly ignoring the rest of the rabble, more focused on how good her cigarette tasted right now and the calming effect it had on her already frazzled nerves. The explosion didn't do much to faze her either, the girl shrugging it off and shaking her head. Only a month with these people and she still didn't tolerate half of them, even if she did go to school with them all her childhood and teen years. It didn't mean she had to like them, and she never did...well, except for a few maybe.

If anyone tried to laugh at Jane stumbling back and landing on her butt, then certainly Liz would be on them like a zombie parasite. She had always felt so protective of the shy geek, even before Z Day hit like a megaton hammer to the face. But seeing the girl's cherry red face....that was priceless. Jane always looked so adorable to Liz when she was blushing.

Flicking her cigarette off the roof off the tip of her fingers, she sighed rubbing the back of her head while ambling over to make sure Jane was alright. She looked okay, but that blunder certainly embarrassed her. "If it's cool with you Mosey, I'll tag along with Jane Doe and make sure she doesn't end up a zombie happy meal."

Had they really tore through everything this soon? Moses wasn't exactly the greatest when it came to estimates but he was sure that the rate they scavenged they should've been alright for atleast another month. The prospect of having to head downtown was not an appealing one already, given its proximity to the town's hospital he assumed the whole area was crawling with zombies but that very fact probably meant that anything useful there was probably untouched. The chance of risk vs reward was high and unfortunately given the situation couldn't pass. He frowned beore. "We got no choice, we're going to have to start making runs downtown. I'll worry about the car."

Even though he had spoke d he stilled mulling over the decision he had made. Was it the right one? If they didn't do this they wouldn't make it but doing this risked losing even more lives. He snapped out of it when Liz called to him, and he put his usual grin om. "That's fime. Just be careful I'd hate to lose my favorite doctor and top zombie killing badass for a rotten stomach."

"Oh don't worry boss, we have at least two to three more weeks before we scavenge all supplies in the remaining places." Alexander quickly said, noticing that Moses was taking it like it was the worse case scenario. "Of course, that's an estimate if all these places had something but I'm sure all of it does." He continued. He then folded the map and then placed it once more in his pocket before picking up the metal bat and resting it on his shoulder, a habit he had picked up while he was in the baseball team. You know, a month before now.

"My relatives own a car but I'm not sure if they used it to escape or something. I'll be sure to keep my eye out for one though when I'm off scavenging." Alexander said, not liking the idea of him shouldering all the burden of finding a car. It wasn't likely that his relatives would leave without the car. If it remained, it only meant either they died inside the house or are still there. But then again, he can hotwire a functional car like he was thought to do when he was a child. If only they could find one. "Maybe we should go scavenging some cars too. I doubt one car would be enough for all of us."

Jess stepped into the Science labs prep room to see if there was any magnesium left so that they use that to make more of a distraction. as she opened the first cupboard door though she found two radios. she flipped them over to check if there was still batteries in them. yes, there was still batteries in them. they must have stored them there so that the staff on duty could tell each other when there was fights so they could break it up. She walked back up to the roof again puffing and panting as she reached the top. "you know we should really meet somewhere thats not at the very top of the building for once" she sighed and held out one of the radios "Here i found these, should be useful"

Hunter looked at the deer while Harley started to speak about the animal being part of a family. He understood everything that the girl said but his mind was still on-to killing the animal without hesitation, he was a hunter after all. Hunter turned his head towards Harley before speaking in a serious tone of voice; "Listen, I understand that you don't want to take the deer away from its family but I have been doing this for years and I have took animals away from their families in order for us to survive. People kill animals all the time, family or not. Why? Because we need to survive, so could you just think about it for a second and I do mean think about it because we need food in order for us to survive in this world that we live in. So if you want to feel like that then I would kill it alone." he'd say before staring at Harley's horse before smirking.

"Or, we can eat your horse. You decide, the deer that looks so lonely and delicious back there or this horse?" Hunter smiled at Harley before petting the horse. Of-course he was just teasing Harley and wasn't really going to kill the horse, but he's eyes were deadly locked onto the deer getting ready to attack in any second!

He nodded eagerly in a way that you'd think he'd break his neck. "I promise I will be on my best behaviour!... sort of... maybe... look all you need to know is I'll TRY okay?" His expression changing from confident to unsure and finally to pouting with his arms crossed by the end of his sentence. Before this whole mess with the mindless corpses, Kyre hadn't known any of these guys. He'd only been in a class with a few of them but even then they never spoke once since they sat so far away from each other. He was the one interrupting lectures to crack jokes and get sent to the office repeatedly so he didn't have to do work. It's not that he wasn't smart enough to do the assignments, he's had high marks all throughout his school life until he decided the repetitiveness of learning the same thing over and over again got really boring. He'd just rather slack off and doodle gory scenarios in his notebook as well as poke the students sitting beside him to try and get them to loosen up and have fun instead.

As a raider, he often accompanies the scavengers, usually when he feels like it though. At the mention of having to go downtown for supplies he decided to speak up about the one major place they haven't gone through yet in the town. "Since we've been running low for quite a while and we're at a bit of a desperate point, don't you think we should take a hit at that mall soon?" The mall was likely to be stock full of supplies and things they needed, it's been practically untouched due to the concentration of zombies in that area. "Perhaps if there was some way we could deal with the not-any-less-intelligent-than-they-previously-were freaks that practically horde the place, we could get enough supplies for a long road trip. If we ever find a working vehicle, then maybe we should make the mall our last stop before leaving Blackwall. That sound like a plan?" He wasn't certain where they would go, probably out in the country where there were less zombies, but they also needed to find a way to get to Alcatraz Island, which means at some point they're gonna need a boat. The only thing left that bothered him is how they're going to bring that horse along with them. Supposedly if it comes down to it they could always drive slow enough for the horse to follow, but that meant more stops, more waste of gas and less land to cover, and what about when they need to get to the island if the horse even lasts that long. "We're going to need something for Pinto over there too."

Jess noticed Kyre was talking a load of trash again about being good and stuff. "Umm Kyre, you strike me as a guy whose good at metal work. could you come to the teachers garage behind school instead of going out with these guys, could really use a hand with a project im working on"she shuffled in place and felt rather shy, being the person she was she didnt talk to boys that often and often felt uncomfortable doing so.

He seemed to perk up at the idea of another fun thing to do instead. "Oooh, what kind of metal work are we talking? We finally gonna make some weapons or is this gonna be some crazy science experiment with explosions! Kapeeww boom boom pow!" He waved his arms to imitate an explosion. He was in a pretty good mood this morning. "Oh! Are we going to build a vehicle from scratch!? I'm making the Bat Mobile, dibs!" He's been quite obvious about being a huge batman fan to these guys, constantly nagging for them to see if he could go back and grab his comics but they told him it wasn't necessary for survival "It's necessary for my sanity!" he remembered saying.

"We'll work it out somehow." He responded to Alex with a grin. "With me on the job we'll have the whole lot full in like a couple days tops." Getting all down about things he couldn't control wouldn't help anybody so he'd just keep pulling forward until the problem was fixed somehow. The 'everything's going to be alright' mentality he had was probably not suited to living in the apocalypse but it was the only way he knew how to act.

He breathed a sigh of relief when Jess took Kyre of his hands. "He's your problem now. Make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid." Not wanting to give either of them any time to change their minds, he figured it was time to get out of the building as soon as possible. Since he never brought them with him during morning rooftop routine, he'd have to grab his gear from his room before heading out first.

Kyre thought of Jessica as one of the more fun members of the group, she knew how to let loose and play a little unlike some of the stiffs here. As soon as she went back inside, he let out a big stretch before putting his hands on his hips and looking down at his running shoes. The visible stains of dried blood and dirt on them was all that could be said about his ventures thus far with the others. He held his hands behind his back and breathed the fresh air enjoying the brief moment of feeling the morning sun on his face before looking to their leader with the best innocent looking grin he could pull off before turning to the door and heading back inside to grab Jessica's bag. It was time to get some things done.

He skipped down the steps and hummed a tune as he entered the lab, blue eyes scanning for a familiar bag before he saw it on a desk. Before he went to pick it up he found himself already unzipping it, mentally cursing himself for giving in despite the mantra in his head repeating "Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it.". He immediately set eyes on a Dorito bag, snatching it and then zipping the bag and slinging it onto his back. He almost left the room before swinging back around mid-step to go get the magnesium, putting it in the bag. With all he was told to grab he headed to the garage. He opened the garage door to darkness, munching on the Doritos. "Why's it so dark?" he spoke with his mouth full.

"This is my project!"She said flicking the light switch on to reveal a yellow and black school bus. There was no gas in it and some of the window were smashed in but luckily the driver had been zombified before he could take the keys out so they could still make it run... if they got the gas. In the back of the room was a zombie corpse a bullet in its head. "Hence why i need someone to help me with the metal work. I mean its gonna be hard work welding the few metal sheets we have onto it but we need it, plus i found this CD player and some of the dudes music in the glove compartment so atleast we dont have work in silence, well it cant be that loud but you get the idea. it doesnt run yet cause we need gas, but i wanna get it armoured up first. The engine is fine, the battery is fine and i have the keys. so you in?

Jane glanced at the blue-haired girl who was now standing next to her, only a yard or two away, and showed the smallest hint of a smile. Before the apocolypse, Liz had been her...acquaintance. They hung out at school, partnered up on projects when it was needed, and sometimes even ate their lunches together. But alas, Jane did not have time outside of school for anyone but herself and her books. And though Liz was merely an acquaintance, she was Jane's only acquaintance, and the closest thing Jane ever had to a friend. Once the illness struck, she supposed she did grow a bit closer to the girl, and really everyone else. After all, they did have to live in the same building, and they had to work together to survive. But she spent her time trying to figure out how the disease works rather than socializing with the others.

Jane realized that she had been looking at the girl longer than she meant to, as she had gotten carried away thinking about the good old times, and that another guy, Alex if she was remembering correctly, had just talked to Moses, but was done. The almost smile vanished from her face and was replaced with the professional straight face she had worn before. "Well, if I'm theorizing correctly, it won't actually be rotting...you see, the-...n-never mind...I'll wait to explain the science until i-it's actually p-proven." she said. She then was silent for a few moments before asking, "H-How exactly does scavenging work? D-Do we split up, or all go together?"

"I so call dibs on driving." he smirked in amusement and tossed the empty bag of chips to the side and dropped the bag on the ground. He walked around the bus to take a look at it. It didn't seem like it would take too much time to get it going, but if it was out of gas then they'd need to siphon some from some where, or find a gas can. "Do you think it could get us out of the city? I mean I've only just recently gotten myself familiar with america so we can't be too far from the next town, the countries basically packed in with civilization, can't go straight for a day without coming across some sort of residence." Kyre had only been in the United States for about 2 years, he previously lived up in Ontario, Canada before he decided to get away from his family to seek some change in his life, and oh boy did he get it. "All I know is we need to some how get to San Francisco if we ever plan to reach Alcatraz Island, that is if what was said on the radios before communication went out is true."

"Hunter no!" Harley yelped suddenly as the boy threatened to eat her horse, the only true family she had left. It wasn't right to her at all, at least now it wasn't. The apocalypse changed her. It used to be she didn't mind if it was a buck or a doe she shot; it was just meat.

But now...as she looked from Hunter to Riley then the doe, seeing the fear welling in her marble eyes...she just couldn't bring herself to shoot it. "Fine." She huffed setting down her gun. "If y'all wanna shoot her, that's up to you, but I ain't shootin' no mama deer!"

If anything...she thought of how the doe's fawn would be...lost and alone without it's mother and father...

@Framing A Moose

It was an odd pairing, a straight A, teacher's pet, science geek and a weed smoking, trouble making, always in detention no good thug, but Liz and Jane had just gotten along like that.

Of course their friendship just started off as strictly schoolmates. They'd eat lunch together, work on school projects together and just hang out in the hallways chatting about whatever.

Liz, she would have wanted a friend, but with Jane more focused on her studies and having no time for well...a life, and Liz always out with her...other friends either getting high or getting into trouble with the police...

Well, at least there was something good about Z Day. At least the collapse of society and the dawn of anarchy brought them closer together.

She had to turn away quickly, realizing Jane was...looking at her for quite a long time with a pleasant near grin. That very near grin painting the blue haired girl's face a rosy shade.
