Giorgio Armadi
[Copenhagen, Fuyuki City]

“Haha, thanks for serving me. I appreciate it, really.”

Giorgio at the very least was glad that he could accomplish his directive. He wished to acquire wine of high quality. After all, to Giorgio imperfection was not an option. His philosophy was to make everything he possessed “perfect”, which better represents his push towards his discipline. Bad food and drink was worse to Giorgio than no food or drink. Though, with his skills, even bad food or drink could be turned into “good food and drink”. However, if there was a particular thing that Giorgio enjoyed about “good food and drink”, aside from the obvious taste and texture, was the scent. Oddly enough, Giorgio enjoyed smelling such things, but at times felt a bit ashamed at his practices.

However, his “directive” was skewed a bit. After all, he was to get berserker the drink. In fact, if he had the option, he would wish to drink his morning coffee within the confines of, well, these morning hours. If Berserker was not willing to show themselves, perhaps this entire expedition was pointless? Well, Giorgio was also someone to not be wasteful when coming to things he purchased. Not like he could really turn back on the wine now.

“Hmm. Something like that. I guess she isn’t here right now, ha.”

Of course, Berserker was with Giorgio, but because she had not materialized and thus to someone who was not a Master or Servant would not understand the presence. Even a trained magus might not realize that there was another with Giorgio. That was somewhat advantageous considering the situation he had unwittingly found himself within.

One could say that as a “Magus”, Giorgio was a “failure”. Someone who barely understood magic and could only utilize a simple trick instead of the plethora of spells found within the crest of a magi. However, he was not a failure of his trade. If a magus was a being that could utilize spells as a 19th century toy factory that manufactured dolls, then Giorgio was a skilled craftsman of a single trade who could make the most amazing face for the doll, but was unable to make its legs, arms, body or any of the other features besides the face. However, the face of the doll was made to perfection and more efficiently than the factory’s production.

However, being a “failure” didn’t really bother Giorgio, as his destiny was not the frugal life of a magus. He was to inherit a perfect world within himself. That which was around Giorgio was always “perfect”, as the perfect self he was. If he wished not to pursue the entirety of “being a magus” as a whole, and would prefer a single discipline, he would not need to know the rest of the discipline and would only need to know the aspect he liked or needed.

Like how Progressive Rock was the best genre of music and all other genres of music Giorgio hardly knew a thing about.
In this situation, his lack of knowledge about magic seemed to bite him. If he had known or been knowledgeable and capable of the most basic abilities that were classified as "Threads of Consciousness" among magi, then he would likely have noticed that someone was in the bar, having never left and never closed her Magic Circuits, who was very obviously emanating the presence of a magus.

But that was irrelevant to Giorgio. “Threads of Consciousness” was not “Reinforcement” so he had no desire to learn, or perhaps not even the capabilities to learn these sorts of spells. Just as someone could be attuned by creation to the concept of “swords”, reinforcement, the art of perfecting imperfections, was the law which governed Giorgio’s existence.

That being said, the magus approached Giorgio, and Giorgio was knowledgeable regarding the identity of the other.

“Drinking in the morning, eh? Yeah, I would say that it is a tad bit unfortunate. Just like what I gather from your person, I am a bit foreign to Japan. However, an “associate” and I recently arrived in town on break. Though I wanted to get coffee, they insisted on Drink. It is late where I come from though, so I guess the jetlag prevails once more.”

Well, that much information was not giving much away. In fact, Giorgio was not the type to lie to people. Everything he had said was true. He had recently arrived here, and so did his associate, despite the two arriving at different times and different locations. He was a foreigner visiting on “spring break”. And his associate, who was relatively close, was not currently engaging in drinking with himself.

“The name’s Giorgio. Might I ask what someone foreign like you is doing in Japan? I’m sure it is an interesting story, no?”

Well, Giorgio was aware that there might be other foreign Masters, but it was not like he felt the “Mark of a Master” from the foreigner in the bar. However, this sort of question was not out of suspicion, but rather curiosity. Or perhaps, it was not completely out of suspicion would be more apt. Though inexperienced as a true Magus, Giorgio was naturally inquisitorial. After all, those who preferred to “talk things out” tended towards this trend.

Though to Seyrun, someone who had messed up recently, it might seem as if the magus had caught onto them. But, to Giorgio, it was merely a question of origin. Even inquisitorial people might be able to trust others.

Giorgio’s mother was beautiful, but in no ways was she a good person. A tailor married to a gambling man down in Firenze. She was, like his father, not willing to sacrifice their freedom as people to their son. In the darkness of the night, Giorgio knew no comfort. Even to wail to the dark was frightening to the child, unknowing as to what lurked within. But as he was walking in the city alone one day, he stumbled upon a man, shot and bloodied, in the shadow of a wall. A group asked if the young Giorgio had seen the man, but for some reason, he felt it necessary to tell them a lie and pointed away from the shadow.

“I'll never forget what you've done for me. Thank you."

The man sincerely thanked Giorgio from the bottom of his heart.

Though he had never learned the man's name, who the people where chasing him were, or why he was shot, Giorgio had learned compassion; something he should have learned from his parents by example, from the simple words and post silence of a complete stranger. As bizarre as it was, someone who might as well have been a criminal as bad as the man who had shot him was responsible for teaching a value that Giorgio would soon never forget.

Well, either way, it appeared that Berserker had materialized during the time Giorgio was speaking with the two ladies bartenders. Or perhaps one was a bar worker and the other the bartender? In retrospect, such a distinction should not matter. And considering his stance on his Servant’s position, what damage they did he would just clean up after them. That was the purpose of the mage in the war, no? Maintaining their Servant was their priority, as a Servant’s purpose was to act as a the “sword” for their Master in battle. Therefore, at the very least, a “treat” was not out of the question for a Master to give their Servant.

But not chocolate. Chocolate was for grown-ups.

Shinobu
[Ryuudou Temple]

Just when it seemed like things were progressing fairly well, her Servant had to speak up. Again. Internally, Shinobu was forced to utter a sigh of absolute exasperation at the simple fact that: No matter where she was, incompetence just had a way of finding her. It was a goddamn gift. On the outside, however, her expression remained largely unchanged, save for perhaps a slight frown appearing at the edge of her lips.

"That is a very... honest introduction there, Mister Jackson."

...

"Well," she starts as she begins walking in the direction of her own summoning circle, head now facing towards the now-friendly Master with whom she was speaking. "I suppose we have a truce for the time being, so it doesn't matter too much. Just, allow me to get changed, quickly, and then we can talk."

She stops, just on the edge of the area between her small clearing and the stranger's. "Right, I guess I should introduce myself as well. My name is Aisaka Shinobu," she nods towards her Servant as well, introducing herself formally for the first time to the both of them. "Shinobu is fine."

With that as her exiting lines, Shinobu promptly heads to the ground next to her Magic Circle, eyes drifting across the markings nostalgically. She remembered when she sat there, hope in her heart for summoning a useful, non-slappy Servant. Her face stings from the memory. With these happy thoughts in mind, she quickly opens up her Rucksack and pulls out an actual shirt.

While she changes, Shinobu takes the time to communicate mentally with her Servant. <Not the way I expected the the first minute of the war to turn out... but we can make it work. Just a quick question, Mister Jackson. Is your Noble Phantasm strong enough to close the gap between your capabilities and the knight's? Only after the truce is off, of course. I'm not very well suited for a fight in such close proximity, anyways.>

"Okay!" She calls aloud this time, obviously speaking to her hopefully-still temporary allies. "I'm ready!"

"Ah. I shall do as you command Master!" Tamamo chirped. "Leave it to me to make more tags and start on the workshop. Our fortress of solitude shall be as unassailable as our bond."

As Wes seemed to be pondering how to drive the yacht, which is a skill Tamamo certainly didn't have. Ironically, she was one of the few Servant's without a riding skill yet still found herself reliant upon vehicular transportation. But she didn't have to be a jack of all trades, and who really needs to be able to ride phantasmal beasts in this day and age? For situations like this she couldn't be more grateful to have Wes as her master.

Ducking inside the Yacht's cabin, Tamamo walked into the rooms center and sat sieza. "Now to start on the workshop..." A twitch of the ear. "Anytime now..." Tail steadily drooping until flush against the chill floor. "Just have to start...stuff...Gyah!"

With a muffled yowl of frustration Caster hung her head piteously. "Forgive me master, but I think this may take some time."

Solovei was glad enough to see that his new Master was willing to cut it out with the whole vassal thing, admitting his mistake and not having him go buy stuff for him after all. That was a good start, though given he was here to fight in the Grail War or to simply live as best he could in the time that he had, he would have preferred a bit more focus on that. As it stood Hector hadn't even confirmed that he was his Master, or acknowledged his class. Either an abundance of confidence, or stupidity.

He watched on with a bit of suspicion as his Master produced a tin of some kind, with rolled up parchment in it. It was hardly what one would have used in his time, like a good pipe, but that didn't seem to be any sort of deterrent as Hector began to smoke in front of him, all words and actions indicating that he was enjoying it quite a bit.

At last Solovei ceded to Hector's request, reaching forward and taking the joint, which he managed to smoke after one abortive attempt. And then, it was on to whatever ulterior motive Hector might have had, as the Assassin class Servant let himself be swayed by the contents of the joint he was currently sampling.

<Did you see my gun?> Jackson responded. The girl's voice in his head in equal parts disturbed and angered him. He didn't quite like the fact he didn't have privacy even in his own thoughts. Freedom was a big thing to the former American president, after all.

<Unless he's got something made just to screw me over, I think I've got just what you need.> the Archer answered. Before Lu Qiuyue and her own servant, it appeared as if the president were simply standing and staring off into space. His new body felt strange, especially under the fresh air of the modern era, not to mention the smell of people that was completely unfamiliar.

The president wasn't one for small talk and thus made no effort to initiate further conversation.

Before he could check on his master, it seemed she had already finished changing. Andrew Jackson's look furled into that of disgust, still clearly disapproving of the young girl's garb. "That don't look like proper clothes to me" he sneered.

"I-", Rasputin bowed, plastering on a smile to disguise his look of disgust, "-Am the great Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, last son of the Russian Empire, here to serve my master in this war of the grail. This is my Turkish compatriot, Dr. Akula. He is a terminally boring man who does not speak much, so please be going easy upon him."

Rasputin's collarbone throbbed faintly, though he payed it no mind. After all, what kind of complete moron would pick a fight near the only church in Fuyuki? You'd have to be clinically retarded or a woman to come up with such an immensely stupid plan. Rasputin stood up and shook the hand of the idiot pretty boy Japanese pretending to be a priest, wondering if this man had done something to the original. On the other hand, it was also entirely possible the church had been abandoned before the schoolboy had moved in. The Japanese were heathens to a man, after all.

His introduction finished, Rasputin lurched towards the door, leaving his Servant to make an introduction of his own. Standing outside the church, he took a breath of fresh air, glaring at the cosplay woman and her pet Japanese.

"The service has already ended, children. I suggest you arrive earlier next time if you wish to worship, yes?"

Wes Downgate

"Well, time is something we have the luxury of having a lot of on the first day. No one even knows we exist, much less where we are or how to find us. So, you know... take it easy," he said, smiling at Tamamo, trying to urge her not to push herself too much.

His Caster wasn't normal. He knew that already. It wasn't a surprise that she was having trouble making a Workshop. From what she'd told him and the information he could glean from his insight as a Master, he'd just have to trust she'd excel in other areas. Besides, she had the skills they needed where it counted the most.

Starting the boat, Wes less than expertly nudged the yacht out into the harbor, stopping and starting so much the boat seemed to jerk and buck like a bull.

"Remind... me..." he grunted. "To look... up... a guide for this... later... on... the... internet..."

Finally grasping the concept of differential steering, Wes transitioned to a comfortable cruise speed and sailed the boat out to a few hundred feet away from the shore.

He sighed with relief.

"Okay, now I feel better. We have some time and privacy to plan and prepare away from everyone else. Let's just drop anchor here for now..."

There was a clunking noise as the boat released its anchor. Waiting for the tiny "thud" so he'd know they were rooted, Wes pulled the rat out of his pocket and retreated into the cabin.

Placing the rodent on the table, he went to retrieve some of his chilled animal blood and a fine paintbrush. He'd need to spend the next few hours layering this thing in magecraft, so a formalcraft circle was needed here.

A few minutes passed and Wes had drawn his circle and started pouring his prana into it, activating the circle and making it glow as it bathed the rat in magical emanations.

Wes sighed with relief. Now that that slightly challenging task was over, he could focus on something easy and enjoyable: setting up a wifi hotspot, configuring all his wireless devices, and attempting to hack into stray communications satellites. If he could hijack the signal strength of an obsolete satellite and piggyback off it, he could boost the signal strength and the operational range of his drones almost indefinitely.

The frustration in the cabin mounted even Wes had entered. His presence was insufficient to ease the tension that had overcome her. Tamamo had to accept that basic Magecraft was just not part of set of wifely skills. Even if she did make a Workshop, which she was questioning of the feasibility of given their lair, it was likely not to live up to the impeccable standards of a discerning magus like Wes.

Raising her arms overhead she worked the soreness out of her body, unconsciously thrusting out her chest for her Master's viewing pleasure.

"Master, it pains me to admit it, but my skills aren't suited for this. It behooves me to say I am not fit to suited to preparing our nest." She pawed at her face, wiping away fat crocodile tears. As a renowned courtesan of unparalleled beauty and grace, acting was a skill she had down pat. "There really isn't anything I can offer to prepare our home. Perhaps I could scout the city while you get the drone doohickey and pick up a house warming present? Nothing says commiseration like a nice bottle of sake!"

Baldwin IV
The Lord's Day, anno domini 2012
Ryuudou Temple, High Noon

Much to Baldwin's relief, his Master was unharmed. Withdrawing his hand, the Leper King moved to assume a neutral stance.
"Excellent. Should you require anything, do not hesitate to call upon me, for I shall shoulder any and all burdens. As for introductions, I would be honored to learn your name, madam."
While it was rendered unseen by the great helm upon his head, something resembling a smile had begun to form upon Baldwin's disfigured visage. This was the beginning of a wonderful partnership.

Meanwhile, the small child and her Servant had taken the liberty of introducing themselves. Interestingly, it seemed the American had no intention of hiding his identity whatsoever. While the name was unknown to Baldwin, it was likely of some familiarity to his Master. Therefore, it could very well lead to an undue advantage in the coming conflict. It was only proper that Baldwin respond in kind, as befits a man of his status.

"A bold statement, Sir Jackson," remarked Baldwin, <"which I will gladly match.">
Shifting into his native tongue, Baldwin's identity was made apparent to all that were present, so long as they happened to be fluent in Old French.
<"I am Baldwin IV, King of Jerusalem. May the Lord's blessing be with you in the days to come, so we might meet again. Be it as comrades or adversaries.">

"Now then, is there any matter you wish to discuss?"

Well that wasn't unexpected. Workshops usually were required to be rooted in one place, and although he'd been hoping a mage from the Age of Gods would be able to circumvent that, it looked like Workshop creation didn't fall under the purview of Tamamo's foxy...

Wes blushed as his eyes unconsciously gravitated towards his Servant's impressive ermm... assets. He quickly turned back around to bury himself in his work, hoping his Servant hadn't noticed.

"Y-Yeah, that sounds great, Tamamo. Sake it is. You sure you can go outside though, looking the way you do?" His heart skipped a beat as he realized how that sounded and he rushed to correct hinself. "I-I mean you look great, you're... you're beautiful, but uhh..."

Without turning around, Wes pointed once to the top of his head and once to his tailbone (which in Tamamo's case was a bit more literal). He turned to look at her, somewhat embarrassed.

"Do you need a disguise or something? So you can, y'know, hide from enemy Masters and Servants?"

Worst came to worst she could always turn into Spirit Form or he could use a Command Seal to forcibly teleport her back to the yacht, but blowing their cover this early would be more than likely fatal to his late-game plans.

Lancer

He could feel another Servant, outside and judging from the sheer energy it was emanating, clearly provoking him. His feelings flared for a moment, before surging down again once addressed by the priest. O how wonderful it was, to have youths as pious as this one, regardless of which branch it was.

"I am glad you chose to attend the service. Even if we walk different paths, a faith in the Lord is to be admired." With that the priest revealed his arm, covered by numerous Command Seals. "I am Father Masuda, the Overseer of your war for the Holy Grail, sent to ensure the safety of this city's people, the secrecy of the war itself, and to ensure that no disasters come about from this war's progression. I hope that our relation may be an amicable one. You must forgive me, though. I have not been able to consult the Spirit Board due to the service, so I will have to ask for your class, Heroic Spirit, such that I can properly make note of such things. Your name would also be appreciated, Master chosen by the Holy Grail."

"I-", his Master bowed, "-Am the great Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, last son of the Russian Empire, here to serve my master in this war of the grail. This is my Turkish compatriot, Dr. Akula. He is a terminally boring man who does not speak much, so please be going easy upon him."

With just that, his Master left in a huff. With a small laugh, Lancer turned to the priest. "Then, if my Master wishes it to be so, then this humble Lancer will be this Dr. Akula. Farewell, priest."

Now, onto the Servant so brazenly challenging him, he who had fought off countless heathens and impaled countless more, he who had stemmed an entire invasion by himself, he who had fought against the heathen until his last breath. How utterly disgusting that they were to challenge him so near to sacred ground, on the 7th day no less.

His clawed gloves pushed the church doors open, as he strode heavily into the open.

"Oh? Tis a mere waif that dares challenge me. Though one with fiery hair and a temperament to match, it would seem. Even the Master is fair, demure, and alluring, though she hides behind her smile," It was obvious Lancer was raring for a fight, his bloodthirst held in check only by his Master, who seemed not to care about those two at all. Did that mean Lancer could impale both of them at a whim? Of course it did.

"Wonderful! Oh such beauty, such bravery, oh flowers of the battlefield! I wish to impale you both upon my spear!" Walking towards Saber full with purpose, and his bloodlust rising, he waited nonetheless until he was off church grounds before materializing his spear.

Kurokiri Hyuuga

"Eh? A..."

The thrumming of her own Command Seal seemed to support this, a Master was indeed nearby. As if to prove them both right, a rather strange man opened the door, and peered straight at them.

"The service has already ended, children. I suggest you arrive earlier next time if you wish to worship, yes?"

She was already shaking behind Saber, though she let none of it show to Saber. Walking around to look at the lay of the land was a decision made on impulse, Kurokiri had hardly anything with her save for some money and the black talon she used to etch sigils with. Meeting a Servant on the very first day wasn't really something she'd expect to do after all. Retreating and avoiding the fight was something she wanted to do badly, but if Saber expected her to stay, then she would do just that.

And then the second man went out, a Servant from what she could make out of him. Kurokiri froze almost immediately, overwhelmed by the aura that Servant seemed to emanate. Snapping out of it a moment later, she retreated behind Saber, her expression still wearing that usual smile, though slightly strained now.

"S-Saber, please be careful."

"Oh Master." Tamamo chastised lightly, pressing against Wes from behind so she could see what he had been working on so fervently. She couldn't grasp what it was about a very anxious rat that was so interesting to him, but the mind of her master was on a level of complexity far beyond her own it seemed. "Have you forgotten where we are? This is Nippon! The land of cosplay and insane politeness. People won't give me more than a passing glance on the streets. Unless..."

Tamamo adopted a quizzical expression before firmly hugging her Wes. "Are you worried someone harboring untoward thoughts towards my radiant form will try to act upon their base impulses? How kind of you to consider the sanctity of your beloved. However, I am certain that I shall be safe, and we don't really have a change of clothes to go about incognito as it were."

She released her Master, a satisfied smirk plastered on her face at the frantic beat of her heart. Still got the courtly charms~ "I'll be back before sundown. If not just give me a call over the our special bond."

With a parting wave she exited the cabin and strolled to the back of the deck. A momentary debate on whether to Astralize and try to jump 90 ft to dry land, or swim at the expense of getting wet.

"Whee!" And with a delighted squeal she leapt in to the water and swam to shore. A few minutes later a passerby would be startled by a sopping wet cosplayer climbing out of the embankment, turning upon them, and asking with far too much cheer than the situation should allow,
"Excuse me, but you can point me to a place to purchase fine spirits? I'm celebrating my husband purchasing a new boat and would like to properly celebrate the occasion."

The passerby, your average Japanese business man, nodded politely and pointed her in the direction of a respectful little business he had no intention of going to in the near future called the Copenhagan. They paid good money to the tourism board to drum up business, it was only polite to help them along for supporting Fuyuki.

"Halt, comrade.", Rasputin said, sweeping out an arm to stop Lancer, "To raise arms upon holy ground is a mortal sin, not to mention it is the day of the Sabbath. For both our sakes, I must ask you to stow your weapon, lest we be struck down by the Almighty."

His gaze swept downwards, eyes flickering over the Japanese and her Servant. He locked eyes with Kurokiri before continuing.

"I should ask you and your creature to do the same, child. To call down the wrath of the Lord upon yourself is no trifling thing. Now, as for your challenge, should we not make a wager upon such things? Ah, but what to wager...", Rasputin scratched his beard and began limping his way down the hill as he thought, coming to a stop about four meters from where the opposing Master stood. He leaned down to study the cowering woman's face.

"...Yes, I am proposing this: Should we be winning, the two of you shall not be hindering Rasputin and his comrade for the duration of the war. Should you be winning, you shall be winning yourself an ally, and the great Rasputin will be doing what he can to help you be victorious. This is fair, yes? Ah, but I must still be insisting that you are allowing me to choose the time and place of this challenge, of course. Are we having an agreement?"

Hector Cavala

Through the haze of a Sublimated-Elixir-and-Marijuana cocktail, Hector saw his Servant take a toke from his glorious gift. it was probably just the Psilocybin talking, but Hector was simultaneously extremely proud and extremely satisfied at Solovei's willingness to try new things. The Sublimated Joint was a rare privilege, and that Solovei was so willing to try it was a clear sign of taste.

"Goes right to ya head, yeah? Works even better if you give it a little juice. Here, watch this--" Hector's veins pulsed a gentle blue as Hector spread a small amount of prana through his body. "The principle of prana infusion in organic chemistry basically says that any drug is enhanced, or "reinforced", by a certain amount of mana being added to its chemical composition. However, when prana is added to a drug already being metabolized, you wrstgrfl halxyzzy fkum!"

Hector sped through the recesses of his mind, flying on wings of intoxicated bliss. Bands of tubby noises and rays of fluffy feelings passed Hector by, giving him a strong feeling of holistic interconnectiveness with the extraphysical quantum foam of the multiverse. Time slowed down as it sped up, and space folded itself into impossible shapes before his very eyes. Hector's balls tripped and his brain blazed as his third, fourth, and fifth eyes opened and saw the world for what it was.

Swirling metal dragons erupted out of the street like ants, coating the earth in a tide of scintillating jeweled scales. Gusts of wicked fairies blew in from up north, picking brick and mortar clean. Men's faces melted and women's bodies bulged in unusual ways.

Eons passed. Civilizations rose and fell. Hector, the Lizard King, crossed the desert on a nameless faceless beast, and secured his station as the ruler of the Earth. Hector's gossamer robes reflected the cruel sun's light and very tastefully accentuated his genuine Naugahyde moccasins. As the Grand Coronation Ceremony of the Elucidation Reptillian-Human Alliance graciously wore down, Hector briefly retired to have a well-deserved rest.

Hector blinked. He was back in the hotel bathroom, with Solovei. Not even five seconds had passed since he had blacked out.

The most entertaining thing about the Sublimated Joint was the Microtrip. A man could live dozens of lifetimes in the handful of hours it took for the Elixir to wear off. The most dangerous side effect of prolonged Sublimated Joint usage was not smoke inhalation of drug intoxification, but the staggering disappointment after the fact.

"So," Hector said, a bit unsteadily. "you wanna grab something to eat?"

Wes Downgate

Wes felt her press up against him as she hugged him.

Huge...

"Y-Yeah, I'll do that. If you need anything, just let me know," he said, trying to hold it together through how flustered her... cuddliness made him. When he expected relationship difficulties with his Servant, he didn't mean something ridiculous like this!

Then Tamamo left, diving into the water instead of just turning to Spirit Form and flying (or whatever it is spirits did).

Good thing I didn't give her my wallet, he thought. ... Oh shit I didn't give her my wallet.

Wes sighed, resting his head on the table. It had only been a few hours since he'd arrived in Fuyuki and somehow it felt like days. So much had happened so fast after he summoned Tamamo. And he guessed... he guessed he had a new girlfriend.

Again, not the kind of relationship he had in mind when he'd spoken of Servants.

Still though. The idea of that level of commitment was scary, especially when it came at you so quickly, but he guessed he shouldn't be complaining. It's not like he had any objections to the idea in principle. As a Heroic Spirit, Tamamo was far better than any girl Wes could hope to find normally, in more ways than one. She had the looks, talent, and power befitting her legendary image, and to be entirely honest, Wes had never been able to see himself finding a girlfriend amongst the kind of crowds he usually hung out with anyway. He was short, had no talent, and his prospects were... severely limited with the kind of life choices he'd made.

So in that regard, Wes thought that perhaps he should be grateful. No, in fact, he was grateful. Someone had finally been willing to give him a chance. Knowing nothing about him, she'd decided to trust and try to love him unconditionally. No one had ever done that for him before, not even his father.

Thinking back to how she'd reacted when he said he'd give her a chance, he supposed that made both of them more alike than he'd originally thought. They were both looking for someone. Maybe in each other they'd find it, with a little hard work and elbow grease.

His spirits and exhaustion lifted somewhat, Wes went back to work messing with his "doohickies" (as Tamamo had put it). First before all that was surviving the Holy Grail War. Then he could contemplate his future with Tamamo all he wanted. Emotion was good, but right now, strategy reigned supreme.

We will survive. Just as long as I have anything to say about it anyway...

"Grrk!" Caster leapt in surprise as a woman had clearly gone against all convention and brazenly chosen to converse with her. "Curses. My safety amidst audacity has been dashed!"

She turned to address the bane of her ramshackle plan -Who would think a Caster would do something that bold?- and found reason to pause instead of breaking out into a bombastic tirade. The woman was clearly a foreigner, and at the bare minimum had an interest in the occult to call her a Kitsune of the phantasmal species. Caster felt safe in saying that she had just bumped into a magus.

A casual check of the bare back of her hands revealed that, whomever she was, the magus was no Master.

"Ara, you have seen through the ruse of the greatest Caster to bless the Holy Grail War. You surely possess eyes even a Tengu would be envious of." Platitudes said she crossed her arms comfortably beneath her buxom. Her face was oddly stern as she spoke. "You are well aware of the present situation, yet don't bear any mark of affiliation. It is A needlessly dangerous position for someone who has no investment in the current conflict to remain within Fuyuki, so you must have some desire for the Grail."

Caster's eyes shifted side to side in a conspiratorial manner before leaning forwards to whisper, "Are you perhaps looking for love on the battlefield?"

All pretense of seriousness was quickly discarded. Caster bounced on the balls of her feet as she was overcome by her own enthusiasm. "I could perhaps be of assistance if you were to help me with a little errand. My master requires Sake for celebration, but alas I failed to consider the currency to purchase it. Could you lend a Servant your time and coin? We would both be eternally indebted to you, most perceptive magus."

"Your challenge is to find us at the Fukishima Dai-Ichi power plant's second reactor building at this time tomorrow. I trust you will not be going back on your word- if the both of you do not arrive in time, or should you flee, I am afraid it is being your forfeit."

Rasputin strolled towards his car, gesturing for Lancer to follow. He chuckled- An ambush at the power plant was a foolproof plan, but Rasputin's plot was even more clever and devious than that! Yes, there would be no escaping from this fight alive, that was for sure. Not to mention, twenty-four hours was all he needed to put his most excellent and brilliant master plan into motion. Yes, everything did indeed appear to be coming up Rasputin! He winked at the opposing Master as he strolled by.

"До свидания, my competitors. Please do not be dying before our fated meeting. Oh, and a word of advice-", Rasputin looked over his shoulder at the Japanese, "-Allowing your Servant to speak for you is a sign of weakness. I would be suggesting dictating terms on your own next time- if there is a next time."

Rasputin got into his car and started it up, idling as he waited for Lancer to make his way over. It was nearly time for the great Rasputin to put his devious plan into motion.

With the drug, Assassin was swept away, back to the past, back to intoxicating highs. He was a bandit once more, feared, with no accursed Ilya Muromets around to stop him. He preyed on the wealthy, the merchants that traveled amidst trees of iron and steel that pierced the heavens. He was unstoppable, terrorizing and doing whatever he wished as buildings fell and armies shattered before the power that he could bring to bear. The people of this modern world had nothing that could stop someone like him, and soon he would have the glory that he rightfully deserved!

Perhaps his dreams were not as vivid or imaginative as the man next to him, but it wasn't as if Assassin had any reason for that. He was dead after all, and his dreams could only remain dreams. But in his mind he was the Brigand once more, and he held the world in terror and fear. Soon, soon he would be all that and more, and he would have his own glory, rather than simply being known as a foe that had been defeated by another!

At last he began to come down from the high he had been swept away on, returned after some indeterminate period to the real world and the hotel room that he had been summoned in. Well, not all that indeterminate. He could tell that his mana supply wasn't particularly smaller, so it couldn't have been all that long. Which was good. He wouldn't be able to prove himself in this war by sitting here while taking those strange substances.

Assassin looked over to his Master as the man spoke, apparently having recovered and now hungry after what they had just done. "It depends," he replied at last. 'Will you be telling me your name at some point, or should I creatively insult you in Russian instead?"

Lú Qiūyuè
Sunday - February 19, 2012

For the most part of the exchange, Qiūyuè remained quiet. With Archer's agreement to the "ceasefire" as he so aptly put it, some form of relief came to her expression - she still had much to learn about her servant and hadn't even given him her own name yet.
"Thank you for your faith." she promptly responded to Archer with his deceleration of trust in the group with a methodical bow. She was on her way back up when the servant mentioned his name, "Archer", which almost made her flinch; she stayed with her head bowed to hide her shifting expressions as she went on to give his name, "Andrew Jackson." It was one she was unfamiliar with, but it looked like she'd be checking the internet or visiting the library sometime soon.

When Shinobu stepped off towards her summoning cirlce, Qiūyuè dutifully followed, presumably alongside her servant. After nodding her affirmation to Shinobu when she introduced herself, Qiūyuè moved to speak:
"Lú Qiūyuè, on behalf of the Shaolin Monastery. It's a pleasure to meet you all." she speaks to introduce herself with an appropriate bow. She briefly contemplated how truthful she was with the meeting being a pleasure before deciding it was, considering she'd just got off with a temporary alliance.

She remained silent and reserved for a good deal of the remaining conversation. As it so happened she didn't speak Old French, but it was still of some vague concern to her regarding the servants identity; she quietly hoped they didn't know old french either. She spoke up at Baldwin's concluding prompt:
"One issue I'd like to raise. When you say 'I'm ready', Shinobu, are we moving as a group? Do we have something to do in mind?" she queries, half to figure out what's going on and half to establish some direction.
