After Vicki crushed Garrett's left arm immediately following their confrontation in the diner, he went off to the hospital and collapsed. His arm got fixed up as much as possible, but he basically won't be able to use it normally ever again. Since then, he ran off to his house before anyone discovered his identity or what really happened to him.
At his apartment, he received a phone call from a man named Jericho, offering for Garrett to work for him, and in return, Jericho will watch out for Garrett. Garrett is still feeling unsure of if he can trust this man or not.
While they were still on the phone, one of Jericho's couriers came and delivered a new phone for being contacted by Jericho with. The courier, a little girl, tried to leave, but Garrett kept her around with the intention of getting information, but instead she exploded into a million daggers and wrecked his apartment. (Somewhat) thankfully, the little girl was just a doll or decoy or some sort. Garrett fled his apartment, intending to never return. That's where he's at right now.
