I never got myself clarified so I'm gonna have to ask a question that might have an obvious answer:

who controls the NPC's?

is it ProPro? Similar to a GM in a game of, like, Dungeons and Dragons or something? So like we all make one post and then the GM makes a post telling us what happens?

Or do we just go on ahead and say what happens in our post?

Yes, I control the NPCs. In most cases, this includes the githkin. However, any time a villain character is in the vicinity of the githkin, then the villain player can take control of them (and this is justified in game as well per instructional PMs that all characters will receive now that the game has officially begun).

@ProProAw man, I was hoping Githkins weren't shielded by Powerplay rules.

But I guess that makes sense. Still, I'm gonna have to work on making my posts way longer....let the challenge begin....

Hey, I noticed in the "Samara" portion of the first post, it's mentioned that Clementine is one of the people the mentor believes can become a power ranger. Now since I've stated that Clementine isn't immune to the brainwashing/conditioning, I think it would be funny and a character-building point if she came up on the Mentor's search because of a huge, overblown misunderstanding. She made an off-handed comment about Galatec once that has since been taken by her corporate rivals to sabotage her. Behind her back, the rumor kept growing, and she keeps being placed under increasing scrutiny. It's part of the reason she's never been able to climb the corporate ladder and why she's not been given important jobs and positions, because her office doesn't trust her. She's partially oblivious to it all, but has her suspicions. Maybe the Mentor mistakenly saw her as someone who was trying to hide the fact that she couldn't be brainwashed.

@Stern AlgorithmHow do you plan on being a Power Ranger if you're brain washed?

I mean, you don't have any free will and every time you leave the base, you'll just instantly get more brainwashed because light itself is part of that.

Wouldn't your character just report us to the authorities?

Edit: Well wait, not immune doesn't mean brainwashed.

@Stern Algorithm Be careful not to overstep your bounds in the RP. The world is run by the GM, and that includes the discrepancies in the profit/loss statements, not to mention the NPCs. I'm ok with you mentioning that one of the biggest discrepancies is a lost vehicle, because that was actually going to be the case, but nobody has dismissed you yet. Please take things one step at a time and try not to control things you don't actually control. Thank you.

No, you're fine to respond. I can roll with the punches. That was more of a warning for the future than a request to change things right now.

@ProPro is a control freak. ;D

I'm kidding, he just has a different manner of running things than a lot of the GMs I've encountered on this forum. I asked a ton of questions while writing my post to be sure I didn't overstep boundaries and checked things with him, such as the giant screen Ruth is currently using to survey the area. :)

I probably should've mentioned that in here when I posted but didn't think about it. >.<

@Charnobylisk I just like taking things one step at a time. You never know when something in the world is going to change in a way that you weren't expecting. ;D Though I admit that I could have done a much better job describing the initial environments everyone is in. I had to rush it all out since I was doing it on my lunch break.

I'm honestly just happy that the world is on a good roll.

The one step thing at time is something I'm more-than pleased about. I was unsure, however, if the beginning of my post was fine. I sorta skipped the details of entering, so it worried me. But since I didn't get called out on it, I'm guessing I'm fine.

Seriously, you must be my lost twin or something. When writing a post I always bombard GMs with questions about NPCs reactions, environmental problems, etc.

Ok, not a problem. As @Charnobylisk mentioned, it's different than how most other GM's I've encountered on this site do things, but that's not a bad thing. I actually prefer doing things this way and will happily comply in future posts. I apologize for overstepping my bounds and appreciate your leniency.

Part of her brainwashing was making her compliant and easily persuaded, being taken out of a Galatec environment and regaining some of her own thoughts and struggling with the mental conflict that brings, she will default to compliance as she tries to sort herself out. I imagine brainwashing effects are not immediate so short term reexposure to a brainwashing environment will not "flip a switch" in Clementine's brain and make her switch sides on the fly. I imagine the brainwashing is more like indoctrination, you believe what you've been taught for the majority of your life. You can act counter to it for reasons of self-preservation even if you still believe in it. Conversely you can slowly stop believing in it if you witness the thing you believe in being strongly challenged, but even then, you'd be plagued with doubts and second-guesses. Something to that effect.
