typical Eldar stealth.

Oh. Oh. Oh.

What's the policy on xenos? Because if xenos are permitted, I'd give my right arm to play a FREEBOOTA.

If they aren't permitted, I'll play a puny 'umie.

Gah! I've been found out. Captured and shamed, I will now strongly consider finishing a CS and turning it in for review. There *is* only one superior race, though.. :/

@Enzayne@Roosan@Sarpedon Let's be fair, the Tyranids probably will fuck up literally everything in the galaxy by the time they finish passing through... except maybe the Necrons, since they don't eat those guys. That said, I believe the policy about xenos on a Rogue Trader ship is as follows:

- All humanoid races will be considered - including Abhumans and the like. Those wishing to take part in the role of a Xenos character will need a darned good reason, and a darned good profile, the same going tenfold for those who might wish to role-play as a member of the Astartes. What I do not want are any Necrons, Tyranids, undercover or overt agents of the Inquisition...just use your logic for this one.

- I hope for a larger human-to-alien ration, if this tips too far toward being a Xenoscentric RP then I shall reign it back.

- Just to reiterate an earlier point; no super-human killing machines, characters are to begin anywhere from a complete novice to a veteran or someone who has 'seen things' but no more for the moment. Guard veterans, experienced combatants, and so forth.

So, yes, you two could probably play as an Ork and an Eldar or whatever. The rules say you can, so.

Filthy lies, Orks forever stronk.

Seriously though, I always assumed that the orks and the tyranids would form a semi-symbiotic relationship. I mean, think about it; Tyranids need bio mass to porduce more Tyranids, Orks are essentially endless biomass producing spore bags that can thrive in even the most ridiculously hostile conditions. The more the Tyranids fight the orks, the more the orks will flock to that battle and the faster they'll produce more orks. Equally, the more orks die, the more bio mass the Tyranids have to make new nids with. It would be a beautiful cycle of eternal battle for the orks and an infinite biomass producing situation for the Nids.

But I will have to write up an Ork character sheet, it would be against my religion not to. I'll do a human one as well and present them both to @Jbcool

@Roosan Seems legit. Isn't that basically what's happening on that one planet already, and the Orks and Tyranids there are locked in stalemate, becoming absurdly massive and powerful as a result?

Actually, I'm not so sure. Tyranids don't feel rage (do they? I'm not sure but I imagine that the Hivemind doesn't and the individual Nids aren't smart enough for that) and Ork conflict fuels Gork and Mork (or should the be Mork and Gork?) so I think Khorne would just have to sit and watch. To be fair, I imagine a lot of daemon breakthroughs would end up happening so some of his followers could probably join in.

@BCTheEntity
I vaguely recall that but I've read a lot of Ork fluff, both official and fan made, so I might be misremembering or confusing fanfics with official releases.

@Roosan Actually, Tyranids are apparently completely immune to Chaos fuckery due to how the Shadow in the Warp works, i.e. basically Warp static, which is why Warp travel near a Tyranid fleet is impossible, and why all the psykers on a planet die horribly prior to an invasion. If they invaded the galaxy full-force, they'd probably drown the Chaos Gods outright. Or the equivalent of that, anyway. In any case, the Octarius War is definitely a thing that happened/is happening in canon.

Right, that! Yeah, Ghazkhull goes there after failing to take Armageddon for the second time (because GW utterly refuses to advance the metaplot and has done for however long it is now) and says he's going to start another mega Waaagh. If 40K were a setting in which things changed, that might be a really interesting plot point. But due to GeeDubs, we'll likely never see anything come of it.

Sigh.

Greetings and salutations friends! (and filthy xenos or heretic scum)

I've seen this RP come across the site several times now and I always wanted to join but never found the time. Now I have some though! So I was wondering if you were still accepting applications. I know the join status is on "Apply" but I dont know for sure if that's still the case with atleast 2 other characters already being made. However, I thought it would be worth a shot, so here's me, rambling on...

Anyway, as I said, I'd like to join this RP! :D

If I can still apply then I also have some quick questions.

One, what class of ship are we on.

And two, I would like to make a naval tactician. (since atm those seem to be lacking) Someone who had finished officer training as a lieutenant on a naval academy and possibly experienced some first hand battles. I'm wondering if such a position would be allowed as rank hierarchy on a Rogue Trader isnt as important as on an official Imperial Navy ship I personally dont think it would matter. However, I am not the one to judge so I'll ask you all :)

And if not, what would you allow which would kind of fullfill the same role in a lore friendly situation?

Anyway, I hope I get the chance to join up! :D

@Zoldyck We're always accepting applications, however our Glorious Leader reserves the right to do whatever the fuck he wants. As for your questions...

1 I dunno
2 I dunno
3 I dunno

I'd say do up a character sheet and PM it to our Glorious Leader and see what he says when he gets back on Thursday.

Heh... Your name has dick in it... Hehehe...

@Zoldyck

First, a wee excerpt from the first incarnation of the RP, concerning the vessel;

Even the chariot which would allow him to make his way through the cosmos was of the lowest quality, at least in terms of what his father may have been able to gift him. It was a Cobra-class Destroyer, one of the most common ships in the Imperium, one that could accurately be termed as 'mass produced' by shipyards galaxy-wide, five-point-seven megatons of Terran craftsmanship and equipped with a crew of some fifteen-thousand. For ease of use, and to lessen expense, at least ten-thousand of those crew were servitors - blank minded fusions of man and machine, thoughtless slaves to his every whim - the remainder being living beings who made up up his closest advisors, a cadre of Armsmen who bore his family crest on their uniforms, and many he could truthfully not care less about. Perhaps the only advantage of the ship, that he had named the Golden Aquila, was the speed with which it could travel and manoeuvre, and the torpedo tubes that he had removed to make room for larger cargo holds.

Second, in answer to your question, I'd be more than happy for you to play as a Naval Lieutenant - someone from the Navy is always welcome aboard a void-travelling vessel. Just get your CS to me, and we'll go from there. :)

@Culluket Those sassy servo-skulls doe!

@Roosan@Enzayne Both fine and dandy, and allowed. Character sheets to me as soon as yee can, muchos gracias.

Everyone else, I'll get the first post up today...which will probably just be a re-working of the intro from my original thread...but not. Dun-dun-duuuuuun.

Aaaany questions?

Difference is, I'm British, so I'd say it in the correct manner...it's spelt the same, no matter where you're from.
