Yes, but my Art of Flesh is specifically able to change bodies of vampires, isn't it? Plus, vampire's anatomy still can be... edited if enough force is applied - as far as i understand, he can lose limbs or take any sort of damage from weapons and various hazards, it's just that fire and werewolves and only them two can ever KILL a vampire. Other sorts of damage will affect and hinder him but can't force his soul out of the body, right?

If that is the case, we should work out how the vampires respond to damage and how they "heal" it if at all and then, out of that data, learn why is that so that Kreslav's Art of Flesh can't affect some particular parts of his biology, for example the heart.

First things first - Haley, do vampires heal from the wounds they've somehow received, or do they forever mark the vampire's body and never go away? Like for example, a vampire is shot in the head and the bullet leaves two unsightly holes, in the forehead and in the back of it. Vampire, animated by some unholy mystical force, doesn't care at all about the damage done to his brain and bones and remains perfectly functionable, but will that wound ever close somehow? Similarly, what if a vampire pierces his nose or ear with some jewelry? The body is, technically speaking, wounded and changed from the state it was in when it was turned into the vampire - how, if at all, wil it return to the previous state?

I would say that they heal like the weres. Just as you have described. They will have a scar, and the healing time depends on the size and depth of the wound.

With a piercing, I would assume that they would keep the piece of jewelry in the pierced place, thus keeping the wound from closing.

Thanks Haley!

Well, I know this is far from realistic with vampires and what not, but the location of your heart being where it is relates to pressure of blood flow being able to counter earth's gravity at our relative elevation. Wait, do Vampires even have blood flow? Why does it kill them to stab them in the heart then?

So vampires automatically completely regenerate whatever wounds they've received with time, but wounds left by fire or werewolf claws will heal much slower and will not heal completely, leaving a scar.

In that case it seems sensible that i do can change my body and move my heart into another area of my chest, but it will always quickly return back to it's usual place after some time, my body perceiving any change done to it as a "wound" and trying to "regenerate" it, is that correct?

Another question just out of morbid curiosity - if a vampire has a limb amputated and has say, a metal sleeve put over the stump in order to prevent it growing back, will the undead flesh somehow tear through metal or will the regeneration actually be stopped until the impediment is removed?

A stake to the heart does not kill but instead paralyzes the vampire stabbed. I always imagined that it is so because heart is the seat of the vampire's power and the main container of his undead blood where it gathers and effervesces. There's no scientific reason to it but instead a mystical one, it's like why werewolves are burned by silver and draugirs can be stopped from rising by putting a pair of open shears on their chests.

Now see, I will allow this. If your character changes the placement of his heart during battle, then state how long in your power section how long it will take for it to go back to it's original placement. I will deem this as fair.

Thanks Haley!

I love this question, but I do believe that Kek did a lot better explaining it than I ever could.

That reminds me, Whimsley! Do you have any ideas for why your kin fears silver? Is it a hereditary curse or some sort of ancient pledge between werewolves and spirits of nature?

Also, a question for everyone who plays: anyone wants to try and work out some kind of background plot for vampires and werewolves? Not the personal stories but something that explains the existence and history of vampires and werewolves as the supernatural "species". Why and for how long are they out there, that kind of things?

I'd be up for helping with this, we should also establish relationships characters have with each other pre-RP, just PM me if anyone wants to work that out with Andrew.

That would be a good idea, since most of the characters thus far have known each other for so long; also, we need to go recruit some more folks! lol. I'll start sending out flyers.

I've always known it as the ancient pact made between the spirit of silver and werewolves. Werewolves agreed to keep anyone from ever touching the silver of the earth in exchange for a boon, this boon varies but the most common is immortality. And when the first pick touched the first vein of silver, the spirit of silver cursed the werewolves by making them weak to silver and thus removed a part of their immortality.

Ah, so exactly as i've wrote earlier. That's simple but suitable. And what are werewolves themselves? Sworn protectors of nature? Just animals trying to make a living in the world like humans?

I see them as just another species of nature, not necessarily less civilized than humans however, attempting to expand their packs and pass down their own bloodlines above all others. This does not make them immediate enemies of other werewolf packs, but allies I assume would be rare because of the need for conquest. Overtake rival packs, but do not kill them, integrate them.

@HaleyTheRandom I've been summoned by the Keksalot and Alta. Might I inquire if there's other possible "species" of supernaturals that could be played? I myself am interested in playing the history of Golem(I imagined that in the gothic urban fantasy there's other mysteries apart from the vampires and werevolves around) - man of fired clay animated by words, that struggles to form his own personality and become a "real person".

@Progenitus I would be interested in seeing this come to life, so I'm going to allow it.

Guys, I am sorry for the lateness. I will try and have my second character up soon.
