Rtron's comment answers that...Elite, here’s a few things to play off. :p One, Khan just stood up which made a loud screech with his chair for everyone’s attention. That would likely agitate Ssarak’s headache, lol, and then Khan began his announcement. You could add Ssarak’s thoughts and opinion in here, maybe? Another thing is the NPCs (This is a room filled with more then the PCS), maybe someone, too drunk, didn't shut up right away and maybe provoked Ssarak to hush him or at least look sourly. Not to mention Aruna left the room, has he wondered where she went yet or just assured she will return. I don't know if I may of skimmed over that bit in your last post or missed it completely when I read it. She did just pull a blade out and threat a student after all not likely far from the table. (at least that was my thought when I read it... maybe I'm wrong. XD) Not to mention, Serge not just shot lightning, but also magnetize all metal stuff within the room to float halfway or more to the roof. My encouragement is to feel free to play off that. Maybe Ssarak had had been using metal silverware, Eysires likely used metal silverware in their homeland and thus the College has some to give that homey touch, or something metal that’s precious to him float to the roof, then dropped back down. Only it didn’t drop back down where it should’ve. It could’ve hit him on the head, hit table then was sent across the floor or even possible hit someone else. The thing that didn’t hurt anyone was weapons… everything else was game for hitting them in the head. That’s also another thing Ssarak can note…by the way. Me too, Cross's only gotten Cynn done that I know of, and she's still late for the Feast after all so Cross it still fits with the PC!-Add on-There's also a fact that Alaira, who he's met, has made a Foreas cry and think it was half way through the conversation that Ssarak's mental effects wore off. So maybe he hears the shouting finally from that scene and worries a bit that there might be a fight, either hurting the Foreas or Alaira before the teachers can get to them? He has heard Alaira's loud voice before then and not to forget, he knows (I hope he suspects at least) she's drunk. :p

Yeah, but she'd be there for the surprise, and she wouldn't be as innocent and such as I'd like.

The choice is yours. Just let it be known you might be waiting a while and the next skip is to winter which would put Cynn's magic level behind everyone else's a bit. This might limit her ability a bit for the hell planned.

Another note is that it takes about 3 total IC years, including time skips, to advance a level at least. So knowing this and you still want to do this, then by all means I have no problem with it. Not to forget the setting would also skip towards the evening of that day where it might be harder for Cynn to actually get into the school because gates tend to be closed unless you write it she arrived that morning and just finished settling in.

Hmm, so our characters are looking at almost a decade of study. I am looking forward to seeing the growth of Ssarak's abilities. Psychomancy is probably the most mysterious mageblood (seriously, its description is, like, a paragraph long).

So wait, is it the remainder of today, then the next day, then the time skip? Or is it the remainder of today, then the time skip?

Lol, it's part of my job as a GM. To get on my phone and remind you what a horrible GM I can be by tormenting you with IC dates.

I gave Elite some options to consider, however they aren't just limited to him and you can use some in your post as well if any tickle your fancy. Not to mention Witch, how would your PC react to seeing this scene and learning the abilities of other Mage bloods? This is only a drop of what a master is able to do as Serge so put it. Certainly your PC at least has thoughts or opinions, not to mention before the demo. Many of the pcs had attention drawing things in their posts which he could note and maybe use to make them stick out in his mind later on. You don't have to limit yourself to just the demo or interaction at your PC.

More or less pretty much but sadly, psychomancy is not my blood and not sure what Lucius has I store for you. Not to forget Elite, while your magic is less combat tied compared to others, Ssarak will still be expected to fight as mission both provide a revenue to the school and help build magic through practice.

Indeed. He is still a warrior by trade, and his magic does have some combat applications. Still, if he had the choice on a mission to start a fight with a group of bandits (or something), or manipulate the mind of their leader to make them surrender (once he is more experienced, of course), he would chose the latter. Who knows, there are all kinds of situations I could imagine where manipulation and trickery could provide alternatives to fighting. It would all depend on the nature of the mission. I think that goes along well with Ssarak's theme of being a regretful warrior. For the moment, though, he keeps himself well practiced and in shape, as his best means of defense is through his fighting skill.

Not to mention if the foes make it possible, but keep in mind Freeshooter, Alaira would've been made aware she's a representative of the school and Serge (Not Khan, mind you) wouldn't teach a student who causes too much trouble for the school.

That's kinda like jabbing her in the stomach with superheated rebar.

Well, Alaira is exceptionally violent, but she'd probably advocate killing the bandits because whenever mr. mind mage leaves they'll be right back to plundering.

Highly painful and lethal?

Well, actually if the Psychomancer is good enough, he/she can change the badnit's memories to make them pacifists. Or gardners. Or both.

Or even guardsmen.

As I said, despite her less then ideal nature, Alaira's not an evil type and I'm sure she'd not kill bandits that surrendered.
