Holy crap this is still happening...
Yep. They're doing as best as they can to implement a new system to bust these dudes.

A...uhh...phot bot? ...well? Maybe it's retarded?
When a new user is created, they're automatically added to a list that moderators have in the moderator forum. It shows their username, the email address they registered with, and a post count. So, really, all the reporting people are doing is somewhat redundant, as we can tell who the spammers are simply by following the generated moderator list and applying common sense. Now, that said, when it's happening this frequently and on this large a scale, it's almost impossible to keep up with, regardless of the information we have at hand. More moderators won't necessarily fix the problem because the bots will simply find a way to eventually circumvent our efforts and we can't all be around all the time. (That's just life.) Once Mahz puts his new system in place, whatever system that happens to be, we'll be able to keep things like this from happening and clean up the forum more effectively. Patience is key in this situation, however frustrating it happens to be in the meantime.
TL;DR -- The bots will get theirs in the end. Just sit tight. We'll handle it.
You do realize that the mods automatically get a list in their private area with all new users and a few details about them, right?
There's generally no need to list them up here.

I do. According to Mahz, he's developing something that would add an extra detail that would help combat against this issue.

(Not directed at you, @VKAllen)
I think what @Ellri is getting at is two things.
Firstly reporting here is not the right thing to do considering this is the news section and we do have a report section elsewhere (ie: reporting here is basically spam on the member's behalf.
Secondly, there is no need for people to micro-mod when a moderator has clearly stated that they are working to remove the problem wherever possible. Micro Modding is more like noise and will sometimes distract the mods if they are mentioned and called all over the site to random pages that several others are already linking them to.
I've just added the new bots and removed duplicates from the list. Though I have 2 questions:
1) It seems there's talk on not swamping the mods with noise, especially if they have a new user list. I'm a bit confused... should I keep on updating the Google Doc as I am currently doing?
2) If there are any Banned users in the Google Doc listing, should I take them out? Or will it make no difference if the list is going into something like an sql statement/script?
Apparently we're now dealing with zombie bots.

@Kurai Assassin claims that one of the banned bots has managed to unban themselves and continue to post in the Free section.
Tis heresy of the highest degree.
