well you would start simply with a lowest grade elemental like everyone else, and when the character start specializing then he would make contracts with the spirits of weapons/armors/etc.. which some will have elemental affinities to strengthen their abilities. I had stated 'Future' for a reason in specialization.

@Crimson Raven the concept of True Names comes in more than just Eragon lol, it's in many things including mythologies and even probably some religions and beliefs now adays.

Backstory: Lazzerus comes from a far off country named Zano that falls victim to dictatorship. Civilians of this empire fell short to poverty and the corrupt police forces including Lazzerus's mother who became deathly ill due to poor sanitation conditions. Lazzerus's father was a summoner who graduated from the academy many many years ago, moving he was naturally talented, he was apart of the Zano armed forces but went A-wall when their dictator rose to power and corruption began spreading, his father switchied sides preparing to lead a crusade against the dictator. In order to protect Lazzerus he pulled some strings to get Lazzerus out of the country ,stowing him away on a cargo ship to keep him low profile. Before departing his father handed him a note, saying that he should attend the same summoning academy he attended. After reaching safety Lazzerus began preparing for a completely different lifestyle, he wanted to be a summoner that, even more powerful than his father, his past having quite the affect on his life.

Personality: Lazzerus is the silent type, he doesn't speak much but is always listening and paying attention to everyone's words and movements. He is a smart boy and enjoys reading quite a bit, He is somewhat selfish though only worrying about himself. Lazzerus has large ambitions wanting to become as strong as possible so that he can return and join his father on the crusade. He is intuitive and in deep thought quite often, he never bothered to make friends or anything since he was on the run never staying in one place for long causing hike to be Anti-social.

apparently lol, though only 2 has futures in dragons, the others it's just their elemental taking it's form. I'm personally surprised at the like 5 we're gotten so far.

I know, I was searching for an hour for something small and lightning based and that's was the best one to fit the low grade summons.

well if using other examples of the elemental planes as anything then it is separated into sections, each section basically being a concentrated form of it's element. like the air/wind section is nothing but sky and a few floating islands in the sky. the fire is like a sea of flames, etc.. etc.. so (shrugs) that's just taking examples from other things that have the elemental planes, and I don't have a complete set up for the one in this rp just yet.

Their true name is given to them upon birth/creation so I'm unsure there and they have to reveal their true names, which even if they don't know it normally can be an instinctive thing (so could have even if she says it she doesn't remember it herself), in order to show full trust and open themselves fully for the contract. True name is different from simply a name they could just go by. it's a more deeper meaning than that.

One could argue that by giving a nameless summon a name, it creates a bond just as tight, maybe even tighter, than just sharing a pre-given name. As for your second point, my character's summon is going to be no older than seven, so she most likely doesn't have any deep meaning. Please let me do this! I'be been planning this since I first created my character! >_>

'low grade fire elemental' not 'low grade fire pup' that kind of means two different things evangaline, the pup would say it's a beast type when their suppose to be having elementals.

It's not really about creating a bond through friendship or compassion, it's a bond through their very souls, their true name isn't simply a name. Their not sharing a simply pre-given name, their sharing their true selves to each other. simply calling someone their name doesn't mean your speaking their true name. a true name can only be given by the one who owns it and others who know it, those told another's true name now knows everything about the other, they know even their deepest desires. it's a full blown connection into the other person's very being. that's why they can create the contract because they open their bodies and minds to each other and allows their souls to literally come together and that forms a bond and a contract between them. If I hadn't already made that the way for the contract to work then I wouldn't of minded what ever you planned but I can't really just change everything now when we've already had multiple people go through the contract. I had already tried to make a compromise with the fact of having where the summon wont even remember it's true name even after speaking it.

Why exactly are the summons disappearing after the bond is made?

Wouldn't they only have to use their magic to bring the summon to the earthly realm? Or do they have to continuously have to have their energy drained as long as the summon is with them? Also, where does the summon go when not on Earth?

the ritual itself takes a lot to begin with, and their supplies do constantly drain aslong as the summon is with them, it's basically like a leech on your energy, which is why Oni said they could only handle Channeled form currently, because it uses the less magical supply, each form takes a different amount of magic to use and sustain. the summon returns to where they came from, so for elementals back to their elemental plane.
