Amelia sighs, shaking her head. "You're real dumb you know that? Sacha just didn't want you moping around camp or whatever. She knows I can handle myself just fine out here." she scowls, holding up her crossbow. "I'd like to see a Brom come at me and live after I've shot at them with this!"

Grant sighed and shook his head, "Fine. I'm tired of arguing with you Amelia." He scowled at her crossbow, "If you think you can fend a Brom off with that, then go ahead." He walked over to a tree and sat down with his back facing against the wood. He took out his dagger and sharpened a stick.

Amelia blinks as he sits down. She frowns and walks over. "What? That's it? I would have expected more of a fight from you." She huffs. "Why are you sharpening a stick?" She asks curiously, setting her crossbow down on the ground.

Grant conituned to sharpen the stick in his hand as Amelia adressed him. He look up at her with a grin on his face, "I'm getting a head start on dinner." Once he was done starpening the stick, he put his dagger away and set the stick aside. He then shifted and padded away, "Now I have to find dinner."

"You're very cryptic. You know that right?" Amelia asks, grabbing her crossbow and following him quickly. She frowns. "How do you expect to do that? You scared the deer away!" She looks around as she follows him, genuinely curious as to how he planned on catching their dinner. She was mostly poking fun at him, and hoped she hadn't made him mad at her.

"Maybe if you stopped talking so loud then we could find something," Grant flicked his ears to show her that he meant what he had said, "The deer might be gone, but their is bound to be other animals of prey out and about." Like that rabbit that had ran off. He had caught the scent of it and was following the trail, though he highly doubted he would find it again, "We can work together. I'll find dinner, you kill dinner."

Amelia huffs but nods, following him and falling silent. She steadies her footsteps to be quieter, avoiding leaves and branches as she normally did. She looks around for any sign of prey, frowning a bit as it grows darker. "Glad to know you can hear them." she mumbles, actually thankful for his presence. As much as she disliked relying on others for anything, she was glad to know they were there when she did need them.

Grant padded through the forest quietly. Soon he caught the scent of a prey animal. It was defiantly another deer. The older boy looked back at Amelia and shook his head, trying to tell her not to speak. He crouched down and slowly came upon the the grazing deer. It was a buck, a big one at that. If they managed to bring it down, it would feed the whole camp for days.

Amelia nods, understanding. She slowly drops to a crouch, lifting her crossbow slightly, getting ready to shoot when the creature came into sight. She slowly notches an arrow, pulling it back as she prepares. She watches Grant's movements carefully. She grimaces as she sees a stick in front of him, hoping he would see it before stepping on it.

Grant stepped down on the twig but not hard enough for it is snap. He mentally sighed. He needed to be more careful. He headed to the side, ready to chase it the deer down in case Amelia missed or the buck just wouldn't go down. He flicked his ears, signaling for her to shoot whenever she was ready.

Amelia nods as she notices him flick his ears. She moves closer, lifting the crossbow and aiming at the deer. She closes one eye, before letting the arrow fly. She stumbles back at the slight release from the arrow. She quickly notches another, readying to shoot again if the arrow had missed the target.

John set an equal amount of rabbit on each of the plates, before handing one back to her.
"I'm not that bad a cook. Unless it's soup," He said, muttering the last part in a low voice.
He started to munch on the rabbit, a small smile on his face. He glanced back over at the girl.
"So, why were you so far away from your camp? You group members are usually terrified to come into Neither territory, especially near me," He asked.

Grant watched as the arrow imbedded itself in the deer's chest. It bellowed before stumbling to the side and crumbling to the ground. It was dead by the time Grant approached it. He shifted and flashed a great big smile towards Amelia, "Well done!" He squatted down beside the deer, "It was a clear shot. I didn't think you had it in ya Amelia." He grabbed the antlers and tugged on the deer slightly. They would have to work together to drag the deer back to camp. Grant could probably do it on his own but it would take him forever. It would be much easier if Amelia helped him, "Here. Help me out."

Paisley bit into the the rabbit. He was right; he was a good cook. She ripped off a piece with her teeth since she didn't have any forks or knives. It was still a little hot so she set the meat on her plate, "Well I was hunting and I didn't realize how far I had traveled. I was... lost in my thoughts." She wasn't willing it give him anymore than that. He would have to deal with her answer. She looked around his camp and was suddenly curious, "So John. We've all heard the stories so I know who you are." She leaned back on her hands. It was a vulnerable position and she hoped it conveyed her comfort with the situation, "I have a question. You don't have to answer if you don't want to however."

Amelia grins and runs over. "Thanks!" she scoffs at his comment. "I never miss." She Huffs and sets her crossbow on her back, crossing her arms. "I dunno. I mean I pretty much took it down all on my own. I'm sure you can handle taking it to camp on your own. Unless you don't think you have it in you?" She smirks a bit, watching him struggle for a moment.

Dont take the bait Grant. Don't take the bait. The older boy smiled and dropped the antlers. He stood up at his full height and looked down at her, "But if you were the one that brought it down, surely you wouldn't need my help to bring it back to camp." He stepped away from the dead animal and motioned to it, "It's your kill, so it's your responsibility. Have fun." He started to walk away, whistling as he went. Hopefully his irration with her didn't show too much.

Amelia's jaw drops as he begins walking away. "No, no! that's not how this works!" She snaps, putting her hands on her hips. "You and I came hunting together! It was a team effort!" She scoffs. "I did my part, now you have to do yours!" She stomps her foot, pouting. "That's how it works! Don't be a jerk Grant!"

Grant turned around flabbergasted, "A team? This was never a team Amelia. When I asked if we could work together, you told me to leave you alone so you could hunt on your own." He schooled his features. He refused to let her childish pouting rub off on him, "Just because I found the deer and you shot it doesn't mean that we were working together." He walked back over to the girl and stared down at her. Maybe she needed to learn a lesson. She was too used to getting her way all the time, "Take some responsibility upon yourself and stop asking others to do everything for you." He bent down to where he was just as hands length away from her, his jaw set, "Don't be a brat Amelia."

Amelia glares at him, refusing to let him see the sting of his words. She crosses her arms. "Brat? I'm not the brat here Grant." she says angrily. "You should learn to be nicer to people!" She snaps, pushing past him and going over to the deer. She sets her jaw, grasping the antlers in her hands and tugging as hard as she can. She shoots a glare at Grant. "You can go back to camp now. I'm going to bring MY deer back to camp." She says, before trying to pull on the deer again, but not having any luck in making it move.

The moment Amelia started talking, Grant regretted what he had said to her. Yes, she needed to understand just how much of a pain she could be, but he should have broke it to her easier and not have let her anger take over. He wasn't proud of what he said, though it was all true, and he didn't know how to remedy the situation. He wasn't good with this kind of stuff; he just wasn't tough enough mentally to leave her on her own. He rubbed the back of his neck, his face contorted in discomfort, "Look...." And that was it. He had no idea what to say. A simple sorry wouldn't even make a dent. He sighed heavily and slowly walked over to her, bending down beside her, "Amelia... I well, gosh... I shouldn't have said that."
