@Nevis Hopefully that's all good. :3 Let me know if I need to change anything, particularly when it comes to the section about magic.

Alright, a few things.

The items such as the Fairy Ocarina, Fairy Slingshot and Kokiri Sword were not common or standard Kokiri items; they were specific, unique objects. Most slingshots are just 'a slingshot', most swords are just 'a sword' or whatever name the owner decides to give it.

While her personality is quite doable for her, specifically, the Kokiri as a whole have become much more grim and adult in recent years. They did not aid the Resistance by merely helping wounded; they helped in the physical, violent revolt from the start (albeit to little effect, given their stark lack of understanding of true war) . Furthermore, while that they were wiped out by the military is an outright lie, the military did attempt to do so and came extremely close-and the Kokiri have lived in hostile wartime conditions since. They now live in the Lost Woods among beings that seek to harm them in an unpredictable, shifting forest while still aiding the Resistance and thus engaging in warfare-much more effectively now as they have had to. Spears and bows are common among them now and their guerrilla tactics are actually expertly-and lethally-performed now. They have been forced into child soldier-like conditions, only with the caring support of the fairies and retaining the freedom of self-governance, rather than lorded over by a violent authority like usual child soldiers.

Magic has three common forms and one rare form, primarily, as I will add to the original post. They are generally categorized by where they draw their power from. Divine magic that calls upon and channels from divinities and natural forces, such as priests do from the gods; Arcane that taps into the ambient energy around them, pulling mana from the air or other sources through practiced formula learned through research and understanding as most learned mages do; and manipulative magic which revolves around affecting the magical energy flows around them, rather than ejecting magic as most others. The utter rarest and least understood is innate magic which is when a being directly releases magic from themselves, relying on their own magical reservoir as their source.
Song magic is generally a form of manipulative or, as it called in-universe, 'wheel magic'. What is special of magical songs is that the song is not merely a focus for woven spell formula or released energy; the pattern of sound and rhythm taps into the energy flows of the world itself, like tugging on the string of an instrument, and thus altering it. For this, song magic is potentially extremely powerful-however, utilizing it requires the song be in harmony with the natural force and thus the more specific and perfectly played, the greater the effect.

There is a certain degree of similarity in our cast as to the previous iteration of this roleplay. Two of the most active and compelling characters last time was an out-of-favor darknut lord seeking to garner strength to return and a strong-willed Kokiri girl. The scene where he ended up picking her up to carry her to safety was awesome-such a wonderful dynamic. I wonder if something similar will happen this time around? :3

Otherwise, it works. The Unicorn bit is interesting as well, considering that, to the ancients, the unicorn was actually a fierce and savage creature with an affinity towards women more akin to that of dragons than out of shared purity. Perhaps a suggestion of character development...? Or not. It works well, either way~<3

@Nevis I also recognized the similarity in casts from the two iterations. I thought it almost a coincidence when someone offered up the idea of a Kokiri, especially since we already had a darknut.

I've also (in my opinion) gotten much better at writing as the years have gone by. I do recall some absurdities and cheesiness performed by myself last time around.

Well, I wasn't here for the first iteration, so I know nothing xP

But that's rather interesting. Maybe we will have a similar dynamic, this time~

Haha, very possibly. On my end, I am quite rusty; I have spent most of this time since then on video games and roleplaying on minecraft which generally means much more of a conversational style than literary.

Unfortunately, Dervish is all tied up and is not much inclined to bring back Maryev with another Darknut present :<

I also have two friends from elsewhere working on a Skull Kid and a Gerudo.

No one ever seems to want to play a Zora...

Where are you at in character development if you are still here, @Dawnscroll?

Meh, I was thinking about Zora- ironic seeing as Rito and Zora are considered distant cousins- but I thought the ability to fly would be a lot more applicable than being able to swim fast/long- because while I can fly above people while they walk around, there isn't always a body of water to swim alongside my compatriots.

If I recall the old iteration, you had a system of rupees and equipment for people to purchase for starting characters- all of which I still have in my old intcheck remake of this rp from like... 2 years ago.. That was a system of resource management/balance that I enjoyed playing with and eventually led to the robot-builder system I use in one of my current RPs. tl;dr: Nevis is responsible for the development of one of my core series' systems.

I almost went with a Zora; I was debating between that, a Twili, or a Goron. I went with a Goron because I felt like they were picked the least out of anyone.

Haha, years ago, before I started it on here, I had originally made this as a dungeons and dragons campaign. I may, indeed, have done that.

And-nay. Zora is the least popular choice (although Ze is the first moblin ever as well) .

Also, to note; people may play multiple characters if they wish.

I decided to pick a Moblin because apart from the Darknuts I don't see anyone ever really selecting them.

The fact that I've been somewhat inspired by Warboss Gorgutz as a makeshift spirit animal for Ze is going to make playing him really fun.

@Nevis Sorry for the mistakes I made. I'll try and get them fixed sometime tonight. On a different note, I actually wasn't aware of the medieval interpretation of the unicorn. I just looked up animal totem meanings and that was the one I felt fit the best. :P

Incidentally, I also wasn't around last time, so I don't know anything either. :3 Still, I am pretty excited by the cast of characters we have right now, and I would be lying if I said that I hadn't thought about how my character would interact with them.

Haha, no cause for sorrow. Most of it was for things that I had not put in the original post yet, so you were working with what you had.

I've actually figured out a legitament reason that Ze would be in the Capital to meet people...

I actually have a second character in mind to go with Ze if you don't mind...

@Nevis So I'm almost done with the edits, but I had a question. Does innate magic take on a specific form that is more or less unique to the wielder or can it manifest itself in a variety of ways for the wielder? If you'd rather I not have my character use innate magic, that's fine too. I just figured that none of the others really fit.

The way you described it with Soli sounds much more befitting of wheel or thread (pulled from sources of nature) magic; innate is extremely rare even among casters and usually a trait of the 'squishy, extremely focused archmage'-type of caster. Note that Link in the games is generally a user of spindle magic, not innate. Even though he and most mages can utilize some of their own mana to power their spells, the actual magic (and most often the power to drive the magic as well) is from outside of themselves that they tap into, rather than they themselves being the source of the magic. For the particular effects that you listed on her sheet, her own magical reservoir is actually a rather poor selection of fuel source as magic used to affect outside subjects (such as plants and animals) is generally better powered by outside sources as well.

Almost done with the edits, but I have a couple more questions. First, are people born able to learn magic, or is it something that anyone could do if they wanted? And second, in the case of magic that draws on natural energy, is the person born able to do that, or do they first have to make some kind of pact with nature or develop the connection in some way?

Sorry for bugging you with so many questions, but I want to make sure that I'm understanding everything properly.

The answers to those are entirely variable. There is a certain degree of natural talent that one is simply born with, yes; however, most magic is generally founded more upon learning and developed skill than innate talent (innate being an obvious exception) . Whether a sort of contract is required or not largely depends on the level of consciousness of the source. If the source is an intelligent, eldritch being, some sort of pact is almost invariably used; if the source is simply pulling from natural ley lines, it rarely is, although ceremonial bonding rituals to attune to the force are still common. Mages can simply pull said power without permission... however, that rarely works well and if the source fights the pull, it affects the quality of the energy (nevermind possible retribution) . And such contracts often bolster the mage's casting, anyways, by being supported by said magical source or entity.

Nailbrain is hilarious. Just change Castle Town to Castle City and he is good to go!
