NOLAN

Nolan glared with vehement hate towards Sayatachi though what in the hell could he say that wouldn't impact him or his guild? Still, he would've killed her given the chance simply for dredging up those hellish memories. How could someone as disgusting as this horrendous bitch be a part of the 'reformed' council? It only affirmed his suspicions that the council still had corrupt individuals in high up places though Nolan wouldn't be able that all of them weren't foul. Rosalina was probably the most noble of the council members and had a true sense of justice. Such a shame that it was wasted on the council.

Just as it seemed Nolan would finally be able to leave, Rosalina had asked him an odd favor. Just what in the hell was she playing at? Nolan arched his brow and folded his arms, looking more puzzled than anything else. "I hope you do realize that it's a part of my job to capture rogue mages, right? I don't know why you would think I'd ever associate myself with criminals. If I saw them then they would already be in your hold." He sipped his coffee and sighed irritably. It just seemed like that the Council was starting to get real desperate again. It's certainly not a good look for them.

"It's an odd request to make, but if I do find any then I'll let you know. If they aren't already being sent your way that is." At this point he was now ignorning Sayatachi, not even bothering to throw a glance at her. Her existence wouldn't be acknowledged once at all.

@Caits
FERRIS

"Trust me, that was one of the first things I learned when I met her." Ferris chuckled and kept his hand wrapped around Jessie's. Ok, so far this was turning into a nice experience though he was still a bit apprehensive towards Drew. Taking a sip of coffee, he hoped that it would calm his nerves a bit. Deciding to strike up conversation with her brother he asked, "So what do you think of the games so far?"

Joakim Fortinbras – Belka Schoolhouse

@oblivion666

The schoolhouse, with a single, diminutive bell pillar topped with a spire, could be seen easily from Frenzy Plant’s makeshift camp. Having spotted it, Joakim took the initiative and set off, with Ike in pursuit and Riona close behind him. Despite Riona’s short span of time with the guild, and the change come over Ike as a result of his inhuman captivity, the northerner felt that the three made a good team. Of course, he didn’t anticipate any sort of conflict with the nobleman Evgeny, but after so long in service to the war guild he evaluated practically everything in terms of combat practicality. As the saying went: one could take a man out of the battle, but one could not take the battle out of a man.

Compared to the shacks stacked like building blocks in the inner portion of the town, the schoolhouse stood like a miniature castle, an edifice of stone. All the same, its walls stooped slightly, and the windows –long since deprived of glass- displayed horizontal boards. No sound came from within, creating a vacuum of silence where the low roar of a living community previously existed. Joakim could not fathom children coming to such a place to learn; the very place seemed dreary enough to suffocate the desire for self-improvement out of anyone. He turned the knob and opened the door in one smooth motion, hanging in the same spot just long enough to inadvertently create a chill that his allies would be obliged to walk through. Before the trio stretched a single room, a long rectangle filled with rows of desks and chairs. At the very front, a blackboard hung on the wall, and before it stood a desk piled with sheets of bark. Behind the desk sat the teacher himself, that startlingly tall, thin, and frilled nobleman named Evgeny, studying a sheet through dark, rounded spectacles. Joakim walked toward him, mildly surprised that the grader of papers had not noticed him, but a creak in the floor rectified that error. Looking up quickly, as if frightened, Evgeny quickly cracked his dry lips into a smile. “Some of our guests—the war guild. Or, mercenaries, rather. I don’t know what might have planted that thought in my head. Welcome to my little school! I’m just looking over the student’s work at the moment,” he added, gesturing at the sheets of bark and the charcoal marks thereon. Sticks of charcoal lay scattered around the room on desks, most likely the only writing utensil that could be gotten. “How may I be of service?”

In an officious manner, Joakim replied, “Just looking around. We knew about this town because of its medicine, but whatever other expectations we had were completely shattered. It’s a very unique place…and it must be a tough life out here. We just wanted to get to know the people. It can’t be very often that you get to tell your story to outsiders.” He paused for a moment before pulling out a chair from a desk to sit in. ”Perhaps you could tell us about recent events in Belka?”

Evgeny appeared somewhere between pleased and curious—as if he didn’t know whether to open up or to wonder why some soldiers were asking. After a few seconds, he leaned forward slightly and said, “It’s not easy, that’s for sure. Food’s not scarce, thanks to the farms, but it’s nowhere near plentiful. The ticks are terrible; if not for our vaccines, there would be widespread spotted fever. Still, we get by. Not much goes on around here.” He adjusted his hat, thinking. “Except for the killer, of course. Nasty, sordid affair, that was.”

Harper Saxum – Belka Outskirts

@liferusher@lunarlors34

It seemed that no matter how dour the weather or ominous the coming storm, a sun would still shine in the heart of Harper Saxum. Her every action suggested that if her energetic optimism was infectious, the plight of the whole town could be solved in minutes. Whether or not such an attitude befitted a shinobi didn’t appear to concern her, so with a spring in her step she walked alongside Ashlyn and Thor. Though the lightning wizard outranked her handily, Thor struck nobody as the leadership-type, so Harper happily took the lead. Leaving the camp behind, they came to the edge of the cliff overlooking the deep, terrifying canyon and turned left. Mindful of the wind and their footing, the three moved along its edge until they came to the western edge of the town. An arc of huts marked the town perimeter, with nothing more than trees behind them, but Harper’s quick eyes spotted a tiny ridge on the cliffside providing a way around the line of huts. Carefully she made her way across, wishing that like Thor she could simply fly, and not suffer her knees shaking from fear of falling. ”Yikes…” When all three made it across, they stood behind the rightmost house and in front of a shadowy tangle of dead and dying trees, every twig a finger and every branch an arm. ”Haha…it’s just like a haunted house!” Harper smiled, veiling her unease, and sauntered forward.

For about twenty minutes the group searched. They turned up all manner of rubbish beneath the trees, from detritus to thrown-out implements and articles of clothing. Not stepping on the rusted prong of a used-up hoe or rake proved to be a challenge. In one hard-to-see spot, however, there was no litter. The earth looked flattened, as if the resting place of a giant block, and smack in the center lay the only tree trunk in the entire morbid copse. Harper narrowed her eyes at it. ”Someone came out into this dump to cut down one tree…? That’s dedication.”

Mercury Marowit – Belka Market

@hatakekuro@caits

Belka’s market, though ramshackle, hosted a crowd of people that all seemed intent on talking over one another. Some demanded, others, haggled, a few complained, and a steady flow of goods exchanged hands. Barter served as a more reasonable form of trade than the use of money in this place. One might wonder, in fact, if any of these people had ever seen the kind of jewel that came from Crocus’ mints. Mercury, Gabriel, and Enma had no eyes for shopping, however, and kept a sharp lookout for anything suspicious. Instead, they found something most unusual.

In one corner of the market, populated mostly by empty stalls, an ally led off between some buildings. On the cusp of the ally rested a peculiar shape. At first glance, it looked like a massive sack of vegetables, or perhaps bread dough, so crammed full as to develop piles and rolls. Another moment’s examination, however, made for a new revelation. Atop the vast, cloth-constricted blob was a human head, with brown hair spilling out of a roughhewn hood, trying in vain to hide two extra chins. In places, the coarse cloth was torn, and out of the tears bulged pale flesh. The three were looking at an incredibly obese human—about six hundred pounds. And she was crying.

In fact, the tears stained her face, and her mass quivered as she wept. The few townsfolk in this area of the market passed her by as if she didn’t exist. Another glance at her revealed one of her sleeves cut and pasted with dried blood emanating from a poorly-bandaged gash.

Ni Rensa – Cinders of a Home

@zarkun

The two women responded quickly to Damian’s call. Eliza, tall and dark, stood still and silently. The expression –or lack thereof- on her face indicated without words that while she didn’t think highly of Damian, she would respect his authority in Phoenix Wing enough to lend her silent service. Ni Rensa, meanwhile, who barely reached five feet, seemed unable to stop moving. Anyone imagining that all cats were lazy had only to look at the restlessness granted by the blood of the war sphinx within her to be proven wrong. In truth, she harbored more ill will than Eliza did for the infamous Blade of Phoenix Wing, but in hopeful emulation of the professional she would not allow it to tamper with the mission.

With Damian in the lead, they arrived at the burnt-out hut of Singed Willard very quickly. Beneath the light of a cloudy day, the place did not exude any sort of scariness, but instead a resigned sorrow. The north wall had crumpled and plummeted off the cliff, taking most of the roof down with it. Once inside, Ni imagined that the hand of some vengeful giant had just reached in and scooped half of the house away. Everything that remained was either ashen or charred, but even the stuff burnt black retained its shape. She reached out to a little table still miraculously standing and picked up a mostly-melted picture frame. When she tried to blow the ash off the picture, the weakened paper turned to dust instead, and blew away on a gust of wind toward the void. She tried not to picture a young man reaching out in desperation for a picture of his loved ones as a burning house collapsed around him. Nevertheless the images came, and Ni couldn’t even stop herself imagining his hollow scream. The sound that echoed in her head, she knew, belonged to someone else: a grave man. What is wrong with me?

”So,” she said, trying to distract herself from imagining. ”Why would a pyromancer die in a fire? Everyone thinks it was an accident, I guess. His nyame was Singed Willard, after all. But wouldn’t havin’ experience with that sorta thing prevent something like this? I cut myself on my axe lots, but I get better each time.” Grabbing a braid in her hand, she twisted it, as if to stimulate her brain. Wizards sometimes lost control of their powers, but a young, novice pyromancer? Her thoughts drifted to magic itself. Fire responds to emotion pretty often, right? Maybe if something made him mad…or scared…?

Chester Graham – Cragland Plateau

@caits@raijinslayer

Outside the limits of Belka, a perhaps inappropriately intense sparring match raged on. Frenzy Plant’s mysterious medicinal witch, Morimato Tsubano, and its airborne outrider, Chester Graham, did not come close to matching either one of the contestants in power even combined. Yet it fell to them to stop the fight and put Argus at least to work investigating the city. In the face of an ominous sky that set even General Sanders on edge, no man could afford to slack off. Graham drew as close to the fighting as he could before calling out, “Hey! Stop! Hold up! Sanders needs you in Belka!”

When things calmed down, Tsubano stepped forward to offer her own help. ”Argus, I know you suffer from demonic feedback in response to negativity. Nevertheless, we want your assistance, and it’s time we gave you some real help when it comes to curbing your dark power. By now you are acquainted with Xyster, yes?” The witch waited for a reply. ”Well, Dullahans are violent, evil creatures in their natural state. Way back when we encountered Xyster for the first time, she was branded with a special seal to keep her contained. Gradually she developed into the more human persona you are familiar with. The point is this: the seal contains within it the true authority of Frenzy Plant, magically condensed into a sigil almost holy in nature, and it serves to keep chaos at bay. I am able to apply a Seal of Denial on you and contain your powers. Your magic might not be as strong, but you will have control.” Despite her conversational tone, it would be apparent that she was not so much offering a choice and explaining what awaited Argus in the near future.

Nandy Rewman – Cleric’s Chapel

@liferusher

Moving through the town, even with a lesser presence, did not present the two soldiers and their prisoner with an issue. Belka’s east side harbored more farmland and pens for livestock than the ever-so-slightly more urban west-central zone. In this community, there were no real divides in property. Structures and contraptions stood where they were most useful; tools lay where they fell. Townsfolk hard at work gave off an air of resignation. Here, everyone knew they were in it together.

The chapel turned out to be not near the graveyard, but in it. Headstones, statues, and oddly-shaped symbols dotted the uneven soil on either side of the bricked path leading to the foreboding, eerie chapel. Nandy looked around constantly, nervously attentive for some startling surprise, and Bytan Brass kept his eyes forward on the building. Until now, they had kept Isla between them, but at this instant both were inattentive enough that the girl might be able to slip between some tombstones and make her escape. Only a few meters separated the group from the chapel and whatever lay within; if Isla thought her chances were better in this remote, poor village than with the soldiers of Frenzy Plant, now was the time to take action.

Damian Gerard|Ruins of Singed's Home, Belka

Damian noted the distaste for his presence but kept his sigh mental. He was there to fix a mistake of the past, not make mistakes of the present. Upon arrival at the shack, Damian set to investigating around the inner wall, which seemed the most intact, seeing if there were any marks of a fight or scuffle. He looked at Rensa when she spoke and nodded. "I thought it odd that a pyromancer would die in a fire as well, novice or no. Emotions play a strong role in flames, let's not forget that wizard from Rider's Blade that uses flame magic immediately effected by emotion after all, but...I don't know, it just doesn't feel right. And so far, it doesn't look like anything attacked him, but there's so much soot in here, it's hard to tell."

He brushed off the wall a bit then stood straight, looking up at the clouds. A storm didn't bode well for anything, especially any chance they might have at finding the source of this man's death, so he turn to the others with him. "So, any other theories?"

@Lugubrious
Ike Riven & Riona Ynnir

They went to the school without much comment from either of them passing by dreary buildings only to arrive at another dreary sight. The school while much more improved in building stature, also had a dreary vibe with just the quietness and the atmosphere itself. Riona shuddered at the thought of learning here yet Ike more so glared at the building with hatred. "You okay bud?" Riona would ask placing a hand on Ike's should only to have him shrug it off. "I'm fine, just looks to much like a castle for my liking." Ike said as he followed behind Joakim glaring slightly at having to walk through a cold area he caused, while Riona shuddered at the cold this time but grinned a bit. It seemed like a fun joke one could pull or one of the scene in the movie where its winter and you are stuck in a house but lose someone. Only for them to pop open the door letting a cold wind in shocking everyone there. Yet she snapped out of her day dream and caught up with the other two.

The man finally noticed them and already caused Ike to frown and glare at him guessing the correct term of them being a war guild, but covered it up with mercenaries playing it off like a mistake. Yet asked what they wanted as he told he was grading the children's school work. Riona and Ike looked around while Joakim asked his question. Ike picked up one of the charcoals sighing in annoyance as he placed it down, while Riona seemed more ticked off by it than Ike was about this situation. Enough to the point she asked her own question. "Are school supplies hard to come by here? The building seems pretty fancy compared to the other buildings. Is it impossible to get proper utensils for the kids?" It might have come off a bit bitter but she did care for children's upbringing.

Ike however shook his head at her. She put too much thought into such a simple thing, they were getting taught one way or another even if it was harder. "Are killers here common? If not then why not ask around for who might have some pent up aggression towards the victim. If this victim is Singed then it should be somewhat easy to find out who harbored hatred for him. After all we were told whenever people saw him that they saw a good honest man." Ike would ask not really dawdling on the subject, besides should be no problem to answer. After all he brought it up.

Iron Enigma in: Crocus!
Arie hummed softly as she and Luna wandered the streets with their arms linked. They had so far enjoyed a nice day of wandering around the city, seeing the sights, talking, and enjoying the various foods they found at their convenience. Right now, Luna was sucking away what little remained of the Ice cream pop she had gotten from the last Ice Cream stand they had come across. The two rounded a corner before coming to a sudden stop, Luna blushing and Arie giggling. "Well, what have we stumbled upon here?"

The kissing couple they had just come across would open their eyes, and they would almost instantly lock on the two that had just turned the corner. The kiss that they ahd been sharing would quickly come to an end, and the two would take a precautionary step away from each other. "U-uh, hey guys," Laynette would say, her fact just barely turning a darker shade of red than Mark's.

"Y-yeah, what's up?" Their awkwardness between the two was just enough for Luna to get over her initial embarrassment and giggle softly. They were acting like they had done something wrong by kissing, and they had just been caught doing it.

"Interesting, I was just about to propose the same inquiry. How long have you possessed such amorous affections for the other?" This caused an even deeper blush to arise in the two, and they would glance at each other nervously.

"Uhm, the past few minutes?" Mark would offer quietly, and this would get Laynette to roll her eyes at him.

"Oh, you've been crushing on me since before lunch," Laynette would tease him, gently taking his arm in hers.

"I'm telling you I wasn't propositioning you! I was just tired!" Mark complained, looking down at the woman who was now hanging on to his arm. Luna blushed again, feeling nervous about this whole situations. What was one supposed to do when they caught their friends kissing? "B-besides, I-I only kissed you because of the bet," Arie giggled.

"Right, 'just because of the bet.' Was that why you were sooo insistent that I receive it despite me telling you you didn't have to really honor the bet because it was made knowing full well you wouldn't win it?" Laynette raised an eyebrow and looked a Mark, putting one hand on her hip.

"U-uh, well... I was just wondering how good a kisser you were, that's all," Mark lied rather poorly.

"Riiight. And?"

"A-and what?"

"How good of a kisser am I?"

"O-oh, well, u-uh, you're a pretty good kisser," Mark would blush again as he said this, glancing away slightly.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

This entire conversation was beginning to be a bit much for Luna, and she would speak up, her face red as well. "W-well, uh, while I would love to stay and chat with you two, me and, uh, Arie are heading to, uhm, go do something. S-so I guess we'll, uh, take our leave of the situation?" As she said this, she'd glance up at Arie, who would giggle slightly, pulling her young companion a little closer.

"Ah, that's right. Resume battle stations, my good compatriots, and let us depart Moon." Mark and Laynette would blush at this comment, while Arie and Luna would depart, one of them smiling at the whole situation, the other just furiously embarrassed.

A crowd gathered around as Grant and Solux squared off in the middle of the street. Just by looking at the two one could see tensions were high; Solux was literally glowing with energy, while Grant could be found holding a medium-length straight sword, his side turned towards his guild mate. "Solux, I'd like to ask you one last time to retract your statement, before I have to get ugly," Grant's voice was polite, but had a goading edge to it, as if he wanted to fight Solux.

"Keh. Retract the truth Grant? I think you're expecting a little much. You're not King of the Castle yet!" Neither side's smile faded at this point, though Grant's was more a bemused smirk than the shark grin Solux was giving. Grant shrugged.

"Fine then, Solux. Hit me with your best shot, I promise I won't use my precognition, and yet I'll still hand your ass to you on a platter," at this, Grant would bring his weapon up so that the tip was level with Solux's chest.

Solux laughed, thinking this would be an easy fight, before raising his hand towards Grant. "Black Sun Eruption!" Grant scoffed at this, and reacted quickly, picking up a rock and tossing it as fast as he could at the fist sized sphere that had just launched itself from Solux's palm. The two collided, and a large explosion resulted, causing both of the combatants to back up a step or two, after which Grant would charge Solux head on, hoping to close the distance so that the other mage would be unable to use his more destructive spells without risking his own welfare. "Black Sun Chain" Grant avoided this attack easily, though he would stop to slash the chain with his knife, knocking it off course and sending it into the ground so that it wouldn't hit any of the civilians gathered around and watching them.

"Black moon-" Solux started, but topped as a sharp blow was landed on his Adam's apple, causing him to start coughing and choking. After he was effectively disarmed, Grant would turn his guild mate around and pull his arm up behind his back high enough that it would be extremely painful, dropping his blood sword as he did so.

"Not all power comes from being magical, Solux," he'd say roughly into Sulux's ear as he regained his breath. After a moment he'd let go of the mage's arm and roughly push him away, causing him to fall over. Grant's smile was long gone now. "How a wizard as inept as you makes A-Class, I'll never know," the blood mage would say flatly before turning and leaving, forcing the crowd to part when necessary. Solux would groan slightly as he began standing back up, sighing.

"What an asshole," he'd suggest to the crowd.

Alm Drake - Actually Important Things
"Hey! You!" Levi would hear from nearby as he was going on about his business. The girl who had shouted it at him was laden with nothing short of a mountain of grocery bags, with her head behind two bags that were far enough apart for her to see. "You look strong, I'll give you twenty thousand jewels if you help me carry this!" She seemed to be struggling under the weight of all the food as she said this, her voice slightly strained. If he had been watching street performances earlier, he may notice that she had been a mage doing somewhat spectaculars show of rainbow-colored flames a few hours earlier.

ENMA

"Jeez, even the food here looks gray." Enma said with disdain in his voice. Everything here was so depressing and dull that it made him want to scream his lungs out. It seemed like here was nothing in the market though he had noticed the sound of someone sobbing. Following the noise, the trio had head towards the sound of a...actually, he wasn't sure what they were looking at. Was that a crying sack of dough? Nope, that was definitely a person. A fat, geleatinous person shaking like jelly with each sob. Why was this woman sobbing in the corner and why was she covered in poorly wrapped bandages. The oni was appauled by her appearance, but even more appauled by the lack of caring from the city's residents.

"Ma'am, we're going to need you to calm down and tell us what happened." Enma was the first to approach her and he looked at her wounds before glancing back to Gabriel. "Gabriel, do you have a spirit that has healing magic?"

@Burthstone
LEVI

Stopping midwalk and turning around, he faced Alm Drake with a friendly grin. Well actually, he faced a mountain of groceries talking to him. He could just barely make out her face until he saw it was actually in between two bags. "You don't need to pay me! Give it here miss." Levi bent down and with his thick, muscular arms he took the majority of the groceries in one go. It was hardly a bother for him. "Okay there miss. Where are you heading?" Why was she so familiar? Did he see her along the streets during a street performance or something? It doesn't matter.

NOLAN

Nolan pushed his seet back and stood up. He looked quite fed up with being around the two council women. "Captain Idwal, I appreciate your act of kindness, but if I must be frank, I need some peace and quiet." He rubbed his temples as another one of his headaches began to beat against his skull. "I'm still in your debt Captain Idwal so if you have any favors you need to ask, just contact Phoenix Wing. I'll be more than willing to comply." He placed down his share of the check and walked out of the cafe.

Ariel - Crocus

While Ariel had been directly told not to go off on her own the thought to be wary slipped her mind. Crocus was a big city, much larger than any other one she'd been to and the spectacle of it all distracted her scattered mind. The others were occupied and when they looked away the woman with wings managed to disappear in the crowd. What would make it harder for them to find her is after traversing a few blocks she took to the air to get a better view and be free from all the people. Still she stayed below the rooftops, having some recollection to stay out of sight.

After a few minutes she landed in a less populated area. By now she'd realized that she was lost. But at least she should have less eyes on her right. Walking through the streets she absently began to walk toward something. A strange sense of magic drew her to the door of an apartment. It looked rather run down, probably not on the better side of town. The door appeared ajar and found it to be so. Had she better judgement Ariel probably would have left well enough alone but she stepped to see what the odd sensation was. While she went in several minutes later she had yet to exit.

Nolan - Crocus

After the whole fiasco with the cafe, Nolan had decided to go wander around the city of Crocus for the meantime. Hopefully this time he wouldn't be finding any trouble with anything at the moment. Well, trouble instead was walking along the streets; Ariel was walking through the city when she knew well enough to stay at the hotel. Her magic made it much too dangerous for her to be wandering about the city! "Hey Ariel! What are you doing here?!" Nolan called out to her, but she must've not heard him through the crowds of people. Great, just bloody great! In one way or another, trouble wasn't going to leave him well enough alone.

Nolan had decided to tail her and hopefully find her when she was distracted enough for him to jump in. He should've done it sooner because she had entered an apartment and even after many minutes she had yet to return. "Troublesome woman." Nolan muttered as he made his way into the home. "Ariel? Hey where are you?" He called out to her.

As Nolan entered the apartment the place looked like no one had been there in a while. It was a quite small space with just a living room and a smaller bedroom in the back. Two things indicated that an artist lived here. The living room was filled with paintings. They were hanging on the wall, sitting on the floor, leaned up against the wall, resting on on an easels, everywhere. The work was actually quite good with great attention to detail. They almost looked real. Seemed the one who made these favored scenes rather than painting people. The other indication was the messy bedroom where remnants of cheap takeout containers. Nothing really in the way of furniture other than a simple mat to sleep so they lived off an artist's salary.

Having had the chance to scope out the place there wasn't really anywhere to hide which made Ariel's absence all the more strange. The windows were still locked from the inside so she didn't exit that way. Eventually Nolan would notice one painting in particular was different. It depicted a cabin at the edge of a lake. Tall evergreens and brush were set in the foreground. The background had lovely snow covered mountains with the setting sun behind them. By the cabin with a simple post fence was a short winding dirt road. What made this painting different was a figure was standing facing away from the viewer. Of course there was no mistaking who it could have been. She was turned slightly so her side was visible but only one person would have deep orange red wings adorned on her back, Ariel.

"What in the fresh hell?" Nolan muttered to himself, completely at a loss with what's going on. Why was their a painting of Ariel in her current form and why did she even come to this apartment. Tired of this stupid game of finding the winged Ariel, Nolan's pupils turned white as he activated his Shaman Magic. If he can see her soul then he could find her...he got a lot more than what he was bargaining for. There were souls in many of the paintings, souls of people trying to break out of the canvas prison. "Holy...what the hell is this place?"

Turning back to the painting of the cabin he saw it; her soul within the painting. "Ariel?! How in the-?!" Nolan stepped closer to the painting, but his foot stepped on an empty paint can on its side. "Wh-whoa!" Nolan yelled out as he fell forward and dived into the painting face first.

Super Collab - Ariel and Nolan Mini-Arc - Isla's Lakeside Painting

Ariel and Nolan - Return to Crocus

Having had an adventure unlike any other in their lives Ariel and Nolan escaped from the mountain scape painting in Isla's apartment. Ariel looking over at Nolan it was almost hard to believe that they were even back. Having just spent a month together in the cold everything looked weird. However before long Ariel suddenly changed to her Lightning magic and jumped in the air with excitement. Throwing herself at Nolan she spun them around. "We did it Nolan, we're back! Oh my god what do we do now? I didn't think this far ahead."

Nolan caught her in his arms and spun around with her with a big grin on his face. They were finally back at last! They were free! "The best I can think of is head off and ask someone the date today. At least we can do that and then make our way back to the guild." He glanced back at the painting and shuddered as if ice cubes had fallen down his back. "I'm fine with never going back in that painting again. That trip down memory lane wasn't worth it."

Looking back as well she shivered a bit as well. "Yeah. It looks nice an peaceful but it hids a dark secret. We'll just have to visit some real mountains." Her eyes drifted to the other paintings in the room. "Who even made these I wonder. Being able to put people in paintings is really powerful. What do we do with the rest of these? There were still dozens of the things all around them. Knowing what they were not it was no wonder she was drawn to them.

The place gave her the creeps though so she took Nolan's hand and stepped out of the apartment. We'll tell Jamie about it and let her handle it. That's probaly best." She shut the door so that hopefully no one else would wander in and trap themselves. Once out on the street things didn't look like they changed much. In fact everything looked set up for the Grand Magic Games. Asking a passer by the date the man looked at Ariel like she was some kind of weirdo but gave the same date they left. Hurrying over to another person she asked again with the time and year. Still asking another meant the same answer.

Nolan catching up to the energetic girl, Ariel let her legs fold under her and she plopped to the ground. She just couldn't believe it and she yelled. Whaaat!? Nolan, two hours. A whole month and it's only been two hours. We haven't missed anything. No one has probably even noticed we've been gone." Agast she just sat there a moment thinking about it. What kind of mage could wield that kind of magic? Some hair fell in her face and she blew it back out.

It certainly was a shocker. How could they be stuck in a painting for a month when in reality it was two hours? They really were lucky though; it meant that they didn't need to hurry back to the guild in Magnolia and Nolan didn't miss the rest of the games. "Let's go back to the hotel. After all of this, I think I need to sleep in a real bed." Nolan smiled and bent down to Ariel. She was scooped up in his arms and Nolan smirked at her playfully. "It doesn't matter how long we were really in there. We're free and that's what matters."

Jarvis and Sam

"Well, sure, but also just some time every now and then, to simply just be a family, without all the worry about everything" Jarvis said

Sam made a happy sound when Amelia wrapped a wing around her, reaching to touch the orb closest to her, curirous about it, watching as the light moved away then back. Smiling, she studied them, as if trying to figure out the secret about them.

Jessie

Jessie smiled and gave Ferris's hand a squeeze, settling back happily. Drew seemed to hesitate for a moment, before replying, "I think tne games have lost their way, despite the thrill of it all. It seems that rather then bringing the guilds together, they are tearing them apart. They ahve certainly been eye opening to the amount of powerful wizards out there"

collab between Argus and Leo

Loe appeared bored with Arguss preparations, standing, waiting for him to be ready. He gave the mage an easy smile, shofting just slightly, he raised a hand. "Regulus impact!" he began gathering light on his open right palm and a few moments later he clenched his fist. He threw the punch towards Argus, clearly deciding not to play around. Of argus wamted a fight, he'd get one.

Argus, quickly backed away from the strike, bringing his blade back before swinging it forward, the enrgy inside of it coming bursting out in a crescent-shaped beam towards he spirit. This was soon followed up by Argus charging forward to get in close to Leo, throwing his sword up in the air, in order to free his hand up for a punch of his own.

"Crimson Gods Raging Fist!"

As he cried out the name of his spell, his fist would explode into a pall of black and crimson energy, his eyes seeming to glow with a savage light as he swung the destructive blow into his opponent.

Leo laughed, his voice echoing over the land about them. He picked himself up, apparently without even a scratch, and seemingly unhurt nor phased by the attack. "You need to learn to enjoy life, rather then simply try to beat it. Strength comes from within, from how you care for others, for what you believe in. Anger is all well and good, Argus, but anger makes you brittle. Sooner or later, you will break. But I may as well have some fun.

Lion Brilliance!"

He shouted again, only this time he fell into a casting stance, gathering power for a few seconds. This time with the brilliance of the light, came a physical attack, a force with the light that struck down towards Argus. With the blinding light, Leo darted quickly towards Argus, light began to gather in his right hand again, and this time he did not shout out his attack, regulus impact heading directly towards Argus.

Argus cursed, barely able to pull up his guard before Leo unleashed a flurry of blows upon him. After the attack, Argus was still standing, but looking a little worse for wear. However, his eyes still burned with a frustration and anger at his inability to push this damn spirit to give an iota of effort. In his mind, he heard whispers from Grimm, egging him on to give into these dark feelings, to let them fester and grow, but he quickly shook his head, instead dashing away to get his hands on his blade again. The giant blade crackled at his touch, as he spun it around once, before gathering a large amount of magic over his form, cloaking him in black and crimson lightning.

"Crimson Gods Blitz!"

With the announcement of his spell, the electrical energy around him exploded into a frenzy, momentarily concealing his form, and once it calmed down, Argus had seemingly disappeared. His position would not remain in question for long, as he'd appear behind Leo, lashing out with a magic-fueled slash with his blade before fading out of sight, relying on the speed boost he'd gotten from his magic to keep him ahead of his opponent. His aim right now was to where Leo down with strikes from the blade until he got his by the paralyzing affect this magic had a chance to grant upon contact, in which case he'd charge in with a haymaker blow. This wasn't without risk, however, as he could already feel the pain beginning to creep into his body from the enhancement he was giving it. Despite this, however, he'd continue his hit and run barrage on the spirit for as long as he could keep it up.

Leo decided to change tracks. It was evident that Argus was beginning to lose control. Which couldn't be allowed to happen, giving the anger Argus had within him.

Leo took to blows, apparently quite easily without any sign that the blows harmed him. He did not appear to even feel the blows as he thought on what to do. It was evident that simply attacking Argus wasn't enough. It was evident that if Argus was allowed to continue with this, he would lose control and cause massive damage. He needed to either be stopped or contained.

How?

"Argus. Allowing your anger to control you will destroy you. Stop, now" he said quite calmly, but as he spoke he began to gathering magic

"Shut up. . . I'm fine." Argus growled out, still being met with frustration as he saw that his attacks were still continuing to do nothing to the spirit. However, a part of him was reveling the challenge of this, and with each passing moment, it was getting stronger. He wanted to make Leo flinch, even a little bit, and as it seemed increasingly clear that his regular attacks weren't going to cut it, he decided he needed to go bigger. "Trust me, when I'm really on the edge of losing control, you'll know about it."

Whether or not Argus was truly fine, he couldn't sat for certain. At this moment, he felt a strange calm in the heart of his rage, as if a portion of his soul was cut of from all of the negative emotions rolling around inside of his body. He felt electrified, and he wasn't about to let this spar end now that he saw just how serious he needed to be.

"I think that's enough warm-up for me, though you seemed to hardly be trying, Spirit. Annoying, but that just means that it'll be so much sweeter when I wipe that irritating grin off your face." As Argus spoke, he suddenly drew back his hand wielding his blade, before sending flying towards Leo, spinning in the air like a crackling discus of death, the magic inside of it leaking out to help speed it's approach and stabilize it's flight path. Following quickly behind it, Argus would charge in, summoning smoke Lacrima into his hands and supercharging them with his magic, causing the grey crystals to become twinge a dull crimson, before he through them on ground right before his opponent. As soon as they made contact with the ground, they'd burst into a large cloud of thick red and black smoke, crackling with Godslayer magic that would zap at both Argus and Leo, and while Argus would be mostly unaffected by the bolts, normally the opponent would feel at least some form of paralysis.

That being said, Argus didn't expect for Leo to be even slightly effected, considering how the rest of the fight had gone, and instead summoned a barrage of throwing knives, charging them with magic before launching them in front of him while he did a leap back away from where he thought Leo to be. He'd keep up this assault for another moment or two, before switching out to hsi Staff, getting in position to intercept the Spirit's next attack, listening out for where he might be next. HE had to focus right now, if he was going to stand a chance of challenging this guy and keeping Grimm from taking advantage of the situation. While he wouldn't admit it to the spirit, Grimm was doing a damn good job of inciting his frustration and anger from the affect of his magic to whip him into a frenzy, and if it weren't for Leo's reminder, he might have lost a bit of control and simply make an even bigger mess for himself.

Keep calm, and failing that, keep focused. Be ready to react in an instant to even the slightest change in the environment. You've honed your instincts to survive the Arena, and they won't let you fail down here either. Remember, as long as you can make the fucker flinch, it's your win. His new objective in mind, Argus couldn't help but smile to himself, actually enjoying how one-sided this fight was turning out to be now that he had a moment to just stop thinking about his situation. LAst time I ever sit around and just think about my problems, I don't have the maturity to do that. Best way for me to work out my problems and issue is to get the blood flowing. Now then, when is this spirit fucker going to come at me?

Leo was about to say something else, but there was an interruption. Worried now, Leo shifted, and in a few strides, was in between Argus and the other frenzy plant member. Someone wouldn't just calm down because they were told to, and Leo worried that Argus would do something drastic, that could harm the town.

Gabriel

The scene found Gabriel standing there, trying to make sense of it, and for a moment, he found himself reminded of...but then Enma was asking him something. Gabriel shooo his head, approaching the woman carefully, "No, I don't. Mikey is the one with the healing spirits. Ma'am, my name is Gabriel. Can you tell us what happened?" hesitantly, Gabriel reached out to touch the woman, to see if she would respond

Alm Drake
Alm would sigh softly as Levi took most of the grocery bags, glad to have most of that weight off of her. "Thank you, we're going to the Iron Enigma hotel," the wizardess would motion with her head the general direction, before starting to lead Levi off in that direction, adjusting her grocery bags as she walked. "I'm Alm by the way, but most people call me by my last name, Drake." As she said this she would glance around the street before turning her gaze finally back to Levi, since he was carrying most of her groceries. She was mildly impressed that he could carry all that seemingly without any trouble.

Thor

They were devided into groups so Thor was suppose to go with Haprer and Ashlyn. She was still a bit upset from Argus acting like that so she rather not get too much interaction going and looked in fact quite irritated. She didn't knew these two all too well but they didn't seem like bad people.

Thor followed them without remorse to the place they were suppose to go. It wasn't the safest route but it was reasonable enough to survive. Thor didn't seem like she was bothered at all with heights mainly because she could fly of course. It wasn't too much of a show and would probably only be able to save herself just barely if she fell with the power she had at the moment but it suffieced.

At some point they were suppose to cross a small ridge which looked pretty damn shady. Thor went as last and didn't look phased by it at all. She couldn't be more reckless after how she walked passed it like a maniac.

The house looked haunted from just glancing at it. It was a little like the spook park from back then but less scarier. Thor waltzed in wanting to be over with it and scavaged around with one arm. After a good look there wasn't much to find. Harper made a comment about a single tree being cut down. Thor gave a blank double nod.

"Accident?..."

Thor tilted her head in question.

"Shady..."

Isla

"Hehehe... Pretty fun guys... This whole search team thing... I really enjoy going into... Haunted.. chapels... Great idea hehe.."

Her situation hadn't improved at all. She had been talking like this to the two ever since they left the rest of the group. Her only saviour was taken away from her and now she was bound to walk this path with these two Frenzy plant members to this spooked chapel. Fun... Isla laughed uncomfortably in general while continuing to walk in between them. They both hadn't said much to her so it was a little awkward for her to be the only one that tried to cheer up the mood. Well it was for her own mood to be exact. She was pretty damn scared of this stupid chapel and there was no one to comfort her. When did she agree on this...

Her chest tightend. She gripped for it slightly as she felt something. Why was her magic being drained so rapidly! This was weird, this hadn't happened before and so much at once! It was against her will. When did she trap someone? She was sure everything was in her appartment...

Argus Leandros

Argus felt rather annoyed as he heard someone call out to him, but he calmly exited the smoke cloud, annoyed to see that Leo had seemingly avoided his last attack without trouble snce he had come out as well to stand between the two. He paid the spirit no mind however, resting his staff across his shoulders as he listened to what the two had come to say. As he listened, Argus gaze became slightly more intense, his hands curling into fists as he heard that they wanted to take his power away from him. He knew that it was evil, and he hated it when Grimm took control but . . . this was something that was a power that he had cultivated himself. It was his and while he didn't want to lose himself to it, he had wanted to replace it with some other magic or skill to counter balance his dependency on it, not simply seal it away. For a second, he considered telling Chester and this woman exactly where they could stuff their seal, but instead he took another breath as he once again looked over everything rationally.

I can't start something new if I have a better action to fall back on, so if I want to grow with a different power, I need to let go of what I have. . . This is for my safety as much as it's for their own. With his mind made up, Argus let out a sigh, sending his staff back to the dimensional space he called it from before he gave a smile to Tsubano.

"So, do I need to take my shirt of for this seal or what?" he said in slight jest, before he let himself get a bit more serious as he consider another facet of his magic. "I'm not sure how long this seal will last though, because my magic tends to eat it's way through such things, maybe not always at a fast enough pace to break them, but enough to weaken them. Also, the fact that this magic could be considered almost Holy makes me wonder if it can even hold my magic, considering that it's Godslayer magic and all. Never really fought a god or anything related to Divinity before, but I think that it'll be even tougher to restrain my magic if that's truly the case and not just the lip service."

@Lugubrious@Caits

Nidhogg

"I've already promised, my dear, you won't be hearing me say it again." Nidhogg stretched slighty as he said this, eager to go out and do something interesting. "So, do you have a particular Slayer in mind or are we just looking for any ole one?"

Cyare Staunton

@Plank Sinatra @Onarax @Caasicam @Silvan Haven [@Here Comes The Snow]

After finally gathering the remainder of the group, a feat not aided by how difficult locating Rei had been, thew newly created adventuring party discussed what remained to be done over breakfast. The common consensus was that a little more time was necessary in town to prepare, so several strained coin purses coughed up the money for a longer stay in the inn while these preparations went on. A time later, the crew departed early(ish) in the morning to start towards their destination.

Cyare Staunton had most of her possessions in a small bag on her shoulder, while the remainder were physically affixed to her person. Such light armor was quite easy to walk in, nor did the sword on her hip impede movement, but she did get… Bored. The walk was not exactly brief, so she had time to kill.

Mental exercises successfully kept her busy for a time, but those eventually ran dry. She had little to suggest in the way of conversation, nor did she particularly feel like engaging in a long, drawn out talk with her compatriots. Truly, this was a predicament.

So she settled for an inaudible sigh, and a query.

Nolan and Ariel had soon found themselves back outside the hotel Phoenix Wing was staying for the mean time. A sigh of relief blew from his lungs and he pushed the door open with a shoulder since he was still carrying Ariel. The two of them were inside the hotel and whoever was still there would've seen that he two of them looked tired and ragged for some reason. The strange part was that even though they looked like they've been through a lot, they looked happy.

The two of them crashed down on a couch within the hotel lobby with comfort the two of them hadn't known for weeks. It sure as hell beat laying on a bed stuffed with straw. Nolan laid his hand on the back of her head and ran his fingers through her hair. "I still can't believe it. A whole month, a whole bloody month and it was just two measely hours." He grumbled exhaustedly, laying his head back against the comfy fabric.

@Burthstone
LEVI

The big fella that most people would assume was a thug or someone shady was walking besides the little woman with his arms filled to the brim with groceries. So they were heading to the hotel where Iron Enigma was staying huh? Well it's not like he had many plans today. He was just wandering aimlessly through the capital to see the sights and other landmarks that Crocus had to offer. "Um, nice to meet you Drake. I guess you can call me Levi." He gave her a friendly smile as they made their way through the city. He could only wonder why the rest of her guild had left her to carry all of the groceries despite her small stature.

@Caits
FERRIS

Oh lord, talk about awkward. Drew had become much more tense when the games were brought up and now Ferris wasn't exactly sure if he should've brought it up. He glanced to Jessie's side and laughed in a sheepish manner. Perhaps he should lay off on telling Drew that he was going to join a guild at some point. "Powerful may be an understatement. Some of them are just monsters. I've never seen mages that powerful before. Back in my old guild, the strongest mage couldn't hold a candle to them."

Angel Ferrara - Putting Trap Knowledge to Use

"Shouldn't be too much longer," the forest-dweller said cheerfully from the front of the group.

As the closest thing to a surveyor that the makeshift squad had, he had taken point and agreed to help find the shortest route to the construction site they'd been hired to clear out. Now and then he would stop for just a second to pluck a fruit from a tree and take a hearty bite from it (save the pear tree they'd found early in the voyage, when they were all still getting accustomed to each other; Angel, calling it "really good luck" with wide-eyed naivety, had cut the sweetest looking pear in half and given the pieces to Kaia and Cyare) but otherwise they'd been making good time so far. He told Cyare as much with a bright smile on his face.

"Barring any weather changes or animal attacks, we should be right on top of 'em by around midday," he explained. "We might have to camp for the night, but we're in good terrain. We shouldn't be lacking for much if we need to take a layover before heading back to collect the bounty."

Ferrin Astra- Yesterday Afternoon

Ferrin parted from Grane, his mind troubled by what he had learned. He emerged from the underground, and squinted at the light. Sunset already? He thought, surprised. "Damn, a whole day wasted, and nothing to show for it." He shook his head. "I guess I will head back to the Twin, and come up with a new plan."

Suddenly his stomach rumbled. He winced. Fighing that shadow thing, and using my magic like that really takes a toll. I will need food and rest before I'm in any shape to fight again. Ferrin pulled out his wallet and upended it in his hand.

A few wrinkled, faded bills fell into his Gauntlet's palm. 400 jewels Ferrin groaned and hung his head. I came to get some form of income, not to trapised around looking for an incredibly dangerous rogue wizard, pro bono to boot. Maybe I should have charged the Twin at least something... Thinking of them, they will probably be as hungry as me.

I guess I have no choice, then. Sorry.

Ferrin wandered around, nonchalantly, sticking near large crouds, looking for the perfect target. It wasn't long until he found one, a gaudly dressed man with a cane a hat, an impressive mustache, and a small guard of some three men, who looked big, strong, and not too bright. The man was probably a noble of some kind. Ferrin discreetly followed him. They took a wandering route through the shoppping distiric, where the man bought a vase, and several expensive lacrima. Ferrin waited patently, taking note of where the man stashed his wallet. He headed back toward the colosseum, where the crouds were thicker. Ferrin ducked into a side street, and with magic, jumped to the roof of a building.

He scanned the throng, tring to find his target again. For a moment, he thought he had lost him, but caught sight of the the three bodyguards. Swiftly, he used the buildings to run ahead of the man. He jumped down into another alley, covered himself in an illusion and a nondescript man stumbled out

He made his way into the crowd, angling toward the man, and his coterie. He picked up the pace, until he was half sprinting, weaving through the crowd, like he was in a hurry. John was in a hurry. He had a very important meeting to attend that he simply mustn't miss or he could lose his job. He push a man out of his way and suddenly there was another, too close to fully avoid. The man saw John running at him, and flinched away. John also moved, so that he only bumped into him, although with some force. "Hey, watch where you're going!" The man shouted. "Sorry." Was all John said. The man dusted himself off. "Honestly, the clumsiness of sone peopl--" his hand brushed where his wallet was. "Wait!" He hurriedly patted a few other pockets. "My wallet!" The three guards glanced at each other as they all came to the same conclusion at once. "That man!" They cried, then they took off after John. John, kept up his pace, dodging and weaving through the crowd. He lead the guards on a merry chase around several blocks before slipping into an alley, and rendering himself invisible. He waited, and the guards ran past. In his head, he slowly counted to sixty.

When he reached that number, there was no sign of them, so he dropped both illusions and he was Ferrin once more. He started laughing. "Man, that never gets old." He laughed. Sill chuckling at his fun he pulled out the thing he had gone through all that trouble for. The nobleman's wallet, pickpocketed when he had bumped into him. Ferrin dumped out the money and counted the bills. 38000...39000...40000 jewels! Not a bad haul. I still have my touch. He didn't feel the least bit guilty over the theft. The nobleman had plenty to spare, and Ferrin had a need. A long time back, that was the only way he was able to survive, by stealing and cheating. When he had joined Fairy Tail, that activity was quickly and abruptly stopped, but he still had the skills he developed from then.

Pocketing the money, and wallet, he found a pawnshop, and sold the nice, silk wallet to dispose of the evidence, and gain a little extra cash. Money in hand, and no guards trying to arrest him, he made his way back to the market, and bought some supplies. By then, the sun had nearly vanished below the horizon. Ferrin made his way out of town, and back to the camp where he had left the Twin.

Upon his arrival they looked up, expectedly. "Well?" Colt asked. "Find anything?" Ferrin sighed and sat on a nearby log.

"Nope. Not a single lead." Their face fell.

"Well, what a lot of help you are." Claire scolded.

"Sis!" Colt protested.

Ferrin held up his mechanical hand. [color=silver]"Its all right. I found nothing today, but tomorrow could be different. By the way, I go some food." He said, as he set down the stuff, and pulled out various spices, vegetables and raw meats. Colt looked at the stuff, confused. "That doesn't look ready to eat." He said, doubtfully.

"That is because it is not. I am going to cook." Ferrin proclaimed, proudly. There was a brief moment of doubtful silence, the only sound as the crickets, softly chirping.

"Y-you can cook?" Claire asked, incredulous.

"Of course I can! Why would you think that I could not?"

"Well...you see...uhhh...you don't really seem like the cooking type..." Colt stuttered.

Ferrin scowled at them. "And what, exactly, would the cooking type look like, hmm?"

"Oh, hey. Is that a owl?" Claire asked pointing up at a tree.

"No it is not," Ferrin said without looking. "And it be damned if it is. Answer the question."

Their eyes turned blue, but they didn't move, otherwise. "It looks like...uh....I donno..." Colt managed.

"If you have no idea what it looks like, then you cannot say that I do not look the type." Ferrin said. He turned away and went back to preparing the food.

The twin hung their head. Nice going, genus. Real smooth talker. Claire thought to Colt. Sorry, he is so intimidating when he is angry. I was just at a loss for words.

Ferrin, whose back was to them, smiled. Messing with people is fun He thought. He laid out wood in the fire pit, and with a quick spell, he set it alight. With that started, he grabbed a pot, and filled it with water from a nearby spring. He walked back to the campsite, and set it aside. Next, he took the meat, deftly sliced it into cubes, and chopped up several of the vegetables. He had gone slowly, taking his time, and by the time he was finished, the fire had burned to coals. He set the pot of water on the coals, and frowned at the coals. Not hot enough. He cast another spell, heating them up and causing the coals to glow orange-red. While he waited for the pot to boil, the Twin stood up. "We are going to take a walk around." Colt explained. Ferrin merely grunted in reply.

When the water finally boiled, he chucked in the meat, vegetables, several spices, and poured in a little wine. He placed the unused stuff in a bag for later. A few minutes later, the savory aroma of the stew pervaded the camp. Night had fully fallen by them, but the almost full moon rose high, providing enough light to see by.

Drawn by the smell, the Twin wandered back. "That smells amazing." Colt said. "Hey! Ferrin, is that food for us, or just decoration! Claire called. Ferrin grinned at them, as he got out some bowls, spoons, and bread. "Come on, see for yourselves." He called back.

They ate his delicious stew over the fire, and as they did, they talked. Mostly it was about unimportant things, all three of them were reluctant to talk about their pasts, but nonetheless, they got to know each other well. The mood was happy, jokes were swapped, stories were told, and food was devoured. They talked long into the night, long after the last morsel had been consumed.

Afterward, they rolled up in their blankets, and fell asleep.

Alm Drake
"The pleasure's all mine. After all, you are carrying most of my groceries for me." Drake would smile slightly at Levi, before glancing ahead of her to make sure she didn't run into anyone on the street. "So, Levi, you part of a magic guild? I can sense you have magic, though I can't tell how much." As she said this they would be turning a corner, and the guild Iron Enigma had been staying at would be visible fairly far along the road. None of the more recognizable members of the guild would be around however. Drake would be busy watching the road, but she would occasionally glance up at Levi while waiting for his response.

Trinity Stratos

Trinity tried a few more combinations on the door pad before giving up. They changed it, which meant she couldn't open the door. Well, maybe she could, yet, but she'd let Eddy take a crack, if she wanted. She turned and walked over to the rail of the deck, peering over at her... friend below. She looked up and around quickly, wondering if Ariel was above her, flying to the deck? No sign of her. "Ooh-ho-ho Gooooods dammit," The troubadour leaned back with her hands holding on to the rail, and then crouched down and stood back up, peering down over the railing again, "Karn, where'd Ariel go?"

Ariel - Phoenix Wing Hotel

@hatakekuro
As they sat down the couch might as well have been a cloud. Sighing contently she slumped over and rested her head against Nolan's shoulder. She was exhausted but didn't want to move. "Yeah. I don't think anyone is going to believe us." Yawning she nuzzled against his chest and closed her eyes. "Imma take a quick nap. Wake me in a few minutes, okay?" She didn't really wait for an answer before falling asleep against Nolan.

Between the hard bed, the cold, the never ending days, the long trek up the mountain, and the trial they experienced before escaping the painting; Ariel was bushed. While she was planning to have a short nap, if they let her she would probably sleep the rest of the day.

"Take as long as you need." Nolan mumbled, holding her close to him as she slept. It had been a rough month, er, two hours for them. They had been through so much in such a short amount of time, and now it is their time to get some rest. He leaned his head back against the couch and thought about just how crazy it was that he of all people had a girlfriend. Someone had a higher probability of winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning at the same time than Nolan ever getting a girl. Still, he wasn't complaining. So this is what it felt like to be in love?

LEVI

His body tensed up just from her asking if he was from a guild, his eyes averted from her's as he tried to think up of an answer. Of course she would notice that he had magic, just his damned luck. "I'm not a part of any guild. I've been bouncing around as a freelance archeaologist lately. I recently got back from an expedition in one of the tombs discovered in the deserts and...Um, never mind" Levi caught himself just before he could talk Alm's ear off. If he got started on talking about archeaology then he would never shut up.Er, no guild would want to have me. My magic is just a bit...weird? Um, is this where you're staying?
