"And you are? I'm Syna, nice to meet ya. Now, if ya don't mind, I'm kinda busy."
Name: Syna
Race:Human
Age:20
Gender:Female
Appearance:Syna stands around a fairly average five foot five and around a hundred and twenty pounds, she isn't the most physically impressive of people to look at. The girl has a slender frame that doesn't have much in the way of muscle in it. That said, she's not completely physically unfit. Her mentor often made a point to at least make sure the girl got some form of physical exercise, mostly in the form of lugging around heavy stacks of books, and constantly walking to and from Lynna City, and though she's not going to be lugging around a sword all that well, she can reasonably defend herself if she had to without magic and probably has more stamina than people give her credit for.
As far as outward looks go, the young girl has a fair complexion, free of most blemishes and markings. Quite often wears a smirk or bright grin on her face. She has bright, amber colored eyes with long, blonde hair.
Clothing/Armor:Syna dresses in a simple white robe, that has a red triangular trim on the edges of it. The material is made of a durable cloth fabric, but is light and fairly airy and easy to move in. It's not going to be doing much against swords and sharp pointy things that want to give her hugs, but it's unlikely to tear or get damaged simply from traveling, wear, or the elements. On her feet, she wears simple brown boots that offer some fairly decent comfort while walking and can probably traverse most natural terrains fairly well. On her legs, she wears simple dark colored stockings. Around her waist, she wears a leather belt with various pouches for carrying things in it.
Isn't very warm, but is perfect for wearing in the spring, summer, and warmer days of fall.
Weapons:As far as weapons go, Syna doesn't really carry any large weapons. Aside from a small, rather simple
dagger she carries with her. It's a simple dagger, with a well kept iron blade and black hilt just large enough for a persons hand to hold. In the past, she has mostly used this for gathering herbs and other things from the Forest of Time and Fairies Woods. That said, she has also used it to defend herself on occasion, from the odd wild animal or so. She's no expert, but she will use it to defend herself if her magic fails her. she usually keeps it on her belt for quick and easy access.
Skills:Syna has been training since she was small in the realms of magic, mysticism, and alchemy. That said, she is far, far, from anywhere skilled to be called anything more than an amateur. As far as some more mundane non magical skills, she's fairly well versed in both history in ancient languages.
-Syna is fairly well read, and can read some ancient languages, and even write them with some difficulty.
-Making potions and other things was a common practice for her mentor, and quite a bit got passed down to her. She has only made potions as of now under the watchful eye of Maple, but she is confident in her skill and knows how to make quite a few different concoctions if she has the right ingredients. Also includes some things of the...poisonous nature.
-Knows her way around both the Faeries Woods and Forest of Time, since she spent a lot of time in both forests growing up.
-Knows some basic first aid stuff, though mostly through reading books and has no practical applications of it.
-Can't cook to save her life, though. Maple feared when she tried alchemy, she'd accidentally blow something up. She likes to remind her, that only happened twice (That Maple Knows of)
Magic:~Illumination (Glow Ring)~A fairly simple, and easy spell. The first one she ever used. The user summons a small orb of light that follows the user around, illuminating the area around them. The size can vary, and can go from illuminating the area around the user or entire rooms depending on how much magic power one puts into it. The duration also depends on the size and amount of magic put into it. Smaller orbs will last longer, while larger ones will need more magic.
~Healing Light~(Recovery Ring)The second spell she was ever allowed access too, Syna focuses the magic in the palm of her hand. Using this, she is able to heal wounds as long as she has the appropriate amount of magic power. Larger wounds, mean more magic will be required, and she could probably heal quite severe wounds but it would likely exhaust her.
~Wind Blast(Tempest Ring)~A fairly simple offensive spell, and the third and last she ever familiarized herself with. After a moment of preparation, she launches a blast of air towards the target from her hand. The gust of wind is easily strong enough to send most creatures and enemies flying, and even stun or slow down the larger ones. And aside from simply blasting something with a force of wind, she may also shape the blast somewhat for precision strikes with wind likely sharp enough to cause some considerable blunt force trauma. Such a thing though, requires a fairly decent control and skill, and she would need to concentrate a bit to do such a thing.
Could theoretically also take control of other wind using this ring, but she has never tried it. May also be used to slow down a fall, if the blast is directed towards the ground. It's also probably not going to be killing most things directly.
Inventory:-Belt, where she keeps her things.
-Dagger, sheathed on her belt.
-Various alchemy things and herbs inside of pouches on her belt.
-Three Magic rings, worn. Two on her right hand, one on the left. (Gale Ring, Recovery Ring, Glow Ring. See Magic)
Basically, all of her things aside from her rings are kept on her belt. She loses that, she basically loses all of her inventory.
Backstory:Syna has had a fairly...simple, if not overly mundane life. Why simple, and not mundane? Well, she's the apprentice of a witch that lives out in the Forest of Time, and has been since she was a kid. Born in Lynna city, she more or less has lived in the region her entire life. She had a fairly easy time growing up, though she spent most of her time reading books and staying inside instead of interacting and playing with other kids.
For the most part, she had a fairly normal like that until she was ten, and decided to venture into the Forest of Time after reading a book on alchemy and magic, intending to try and make something herself.
It was there, she stumbled across an old Witch that lived in the Yoll Graveyard who went by the name of Maple. At first, Maple simply turned the girl away, but after insisting for over a week, and breaking and entering into her house several times, she finally relented and decided to teach the girl how to control magic, if she could prove her dedication to the craft, since it was likely to take most of her life to even be able to compare to the ancient sorcerers of the past she liked reading about. Before she could even being learning magic, she had to dedicate herself to learning and hard work. There were no shortcuts in magic, no shortcuts to learning and no
reputable shortcuts to perfecting magic.
Most of her days were spent reading, helping maple with alchemy, gathering reagents for her, etc. (walking from Lynna, Faerie Woods, and back to her house made up 90% of her day on the weekends) Little in the way of actual learning magic and other things. Maple told her that patience was the number one thing any good mage should have, though, so she didn't press the issue
too much. And finally, she was rewarded with what she wanted, being able to actually learn how to use magic.
She managed this when she was fifteen. Following Maples instructions and advice, she meditated constantly for a few days, only stopping to eat and drink and other basic necessitates, and she succeeded in using the simple spell. It was simple, but it was the best feeling in the world for Syna.
After this, she doubled her efforts, and within the next four years, she was able to make use of two more rings that Maple had let her have. Her ability with magic is nowhere near being a master, and indeed her capacity for powerful magic and casting spells for long a duration is somewhat lacking, but that's not going to stop her.
Recently, she's been trying to master the use of the Gale Ring, which so far she's had the most trouble with, and has been practicing every chance she gets. Maple has recently told her to go to the Nuun Highlands and find some reagents for some potion or another. She has of course, somewhat begrudgingly accepted the task.
She intends to take her sweet time, though, she's honestly a little tired of feeling like Maple's glorified errand girl. Maybe stop by Rauru and goof off for a bit.
Wallet: 56 Rupees.
Other:Personality:
In a few words? a bit sarcastic, Cynical, and somewhat playfully mischievous. Blunt too, almost painfully so sometimes. She has a bit of trouble hiding and masking her words, especially when it comes to her opinions. She's a decent person all around, but don't expect her to mince words or not pass up an opportunity to make fun of/mess with someone.
Favorite Color is Purple.
Her dedication to learning this craft, also had the effect of somewhat estranging her parents. While she doesn't exactly hate them, hold anything against them, their relationship isn't the best. In fact, you could say it was Maple that practically raised her. At the moment, their relationship could possibly be described as awkward, and she rarely visits them, and has taken up a residence in Maples' house, much to the older witches chagrin.
