Goldenrod Radio Tower

The sun would rise over the bustling city of Goldenrod, the largest city in the Johto region.
The sounds of the city would fill the streets as people awoke, and headed to work. The smell of food
would waft out of diners and restaurants, offering breakfast at a reasonable discount. Pidgey sat on
the powerlines draped across the city, going from building to buiding. All was normal in the city of
Goldenrod. Except, for one special celebration today. Indeed, in every home and business, all ears
were tuned to the staticy buzz of their radio, awaiting the grand reopening of the Goldenrod Radio Tower!
Indeed, today was a proud day for the city. And, it was up to the new employees to make sure the first
Broadcast was a great one!

Inside the building itself, a janitor mopped the floors. Employees already there milled about, waiting
for the final maintenance check on the elevator before they could begin their day. The lobby full, some would
even have to stand outside the building! Their pokemon too, would be out and waiting. A jigglypuff standing
menacingly to the side would ensure that wherever one looked, Earbuds or the like were being worn. All in
all, it was as if business hadn't stopped for the old tower. And now that it was opening, business wouldn't
stop any time within the foreseeable future!

Finally, a ding would be heard, and people would crowd their way onto the elevators! The day had begun! The
janitor, still mopping the floors would let out a chuckle. Seems things were finally going to get back to
normal. Maybe he would even see a few late comers? Who knew what would happen, when literally anything could
happen in the Goldenrod Radio Tower!

There was a certain buzz of excitement in the air around the Radio Tower. New hires, new programs, new equipment, a lot of things were “new” this day. Dozens of people were streaming into the tower, hopped up and excited to create things and to bring a bit of joy into the lives of as many Johtoans as possible.

There was one person, however, who did not share in the happy mood. In fact, she was distinctly unhappy. One might even suggest that she was somewhat peeved, or perhaps even a little bit cross. The truth, actually, was that Gaia, the new sound engineer of Goldenrod Radio Tower, was equally terrified and pissed. The former because she half convinced, and steadily moving towards fully convinced, that she was going to be fired on her first day.

She was pissed because Thera, her Joltik, was missing. Again. And if she did get fired today, it would that fuzzy little traitor’s fault.

The worst part was that she didn't have time to look for the Attaching Pokemon. She had too much on her plate breaking in the new equipment in the sound booth and making sure all of it worked. “I'm gonna squash that little piece of shit,” she grumbled to herself as she flicked through various switches, her sound board lighting up. Despite her foul mood, however, a slight smile crossed her face. This was her area of expertise, her queendom, and she its Goddess of Sound. Everything was going to sound perfect, because she would not allow any other option.

Gaia leaned towards her mike, looking through the glass at the boy in the booth she had dragged along with her on her way up the stairs. “Alright Josh, start talking. I'd like this sound check to be done before the others get here.”

~Sidney Garland~

A certain hum of excitement was heard in Goldenrods famous Radio Tower today. In fact, it was the grand reopening! A reopening that many aspiring people would want to capitalize on. A reopening that one Sidney Garland was certain to capitalize on. The redhead had arrived early and had been one of the first people there. No way in hell was she gonna let this chance to slide past! A news host! What luck! She didn't actually think her flirting with the bossman would go over as well as it did, but damn. She must have seriously put on the charm.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise though, in her opinion. Multitasking and information gathering was her specialty, after all. She had been doing it since she stole that camera from her parents and used it to confirm who was sneaking into the trainers school at night. Probably took after her dad a bit in that regard, since he was a police officer.

Oh, and she was fabulous. Can't forget that. She was one-hundred percent grade A fabulous. She may not be some fancy Kalosian fashionista, or be as well endowed as some but damn it if she wasn't the best looking, classiest thing to walk into the Radio Tower. Not that she'd ever boast about such a thing. That'd be one hundred percent uncool and unfabulous, man.

As the ding on the elevator silenced the murmur of activity, Sidney was one of the first ones onto it. She gave a brief hello to the Janitor, and stepped into the Elevator and moved to the back to allow others to get on. She was dressed in her usual outfit. An expensive, but casual looking wine red suit jacket over a white shirt, with black pants and comfortable black shoes.

In one hand, she was carrying a neat looking black binder full of papers and other things she had brought with her. A fancy looking black and gold pen was hanging on it. The other was tucked into one of her pants pockets as she waited for the elevator to ascend to the appropriate floor she was going to be working on. Thankfully, it didn't take long and soon enough she stepped out.

She walked down the hall, greeting everyone with a friendly smile, wink, and a generally overall friendly introduction and a skip in her step. Aside from being in a fabulously good mood, being friendly with your co-workers made blackmailing them working with them much, much easier. She didn't stay and idly chat for long, though. She wanted to get to her new work station and get everything ready. She had a few things she had to discuss today with her new audience, but she wanted to get her show in order.

So she opened the door to the room she'd be working in - and HELLO. Cute girl alert. Sweet Arceus today was turning out fabulously. First she landed a job here, and now she was gazing at a creature more beautiful than any legendary pokemon.

...time to turn on her usual brand of charm.

"Well, I mean, I can just leave if you want, but then that means I'd miss seeing your lovely face." She greeted Gaia with a friendly smile, walking over to where she was standing. "I take it I'm a bit early, then? Sidney Garland. I apparently work here now." She chuckled. For a brief moment, Sidney had to wonder where Rubi had gone off too. Probably was up to no good as usual. The Sabeleye had a habit of causing mischief. Not that she particularly cared, as they were usually hilarious.

"So what's your name cutey?" She continued, giving Gaia her best smolder she could possibly manage. It was probably terrible, but hey - humor charmed the ladies too. "Or am I gonna be left wondering for the rest of my life about the girl who got away?~"

Terrible pickup line initiated. If it actually worked, she was gonna laugh. Well, she'd probably laugh either way.

Dwight Waters was kind of having a shitty day. He'd been called in the previous night to make fix some problems, and was currently running on adrenaline and coffee fumes. The generators had seemed to be throwing a hissy fit by constantly shutting off, which turned out to be because some electrician had unevenly distributed the loads among the generators and had nearly overloaded two of them. After getting into an argument with the electrician over Pokégear, he had been forced to rectify the mistake himself. That had taken ten painstaking hours of calculations, tinkering, and checks to make sure the generator's would run smoothly once the station got up and running.

Of course, that was not the only thing to go wrong. The elevator then had issues, and he had spent the rest of the time before the reopening trying to find out what was wrong with the elevator. After fixing those issues and checking to make sure no one had tampered with the systems during construction, he was left with two hours before the grand reopening. Those two hours became a panicked rush to clean up all the messes that came with the fixes. The elevator was still being checked out by some of the other janitors and handymen, and Dwight was going to ride it down and get some breakfast and a nap.

Which was why he was surprised to find the lights on in one of the recording booths as he was walking down the hallway after stashing his tools in a janitor closet.

"I'm so fucking done for this shit." Dwight growled as he made his way to the booth. Standing in the doorway he saw the three figure standing in the room.

"Who the hell are you people?" Dwight's deep voice ground out as he glared at the trio.

"We're sorry but the person you are trying to reach is not available. Please leave a mess- beep"

"Oh my god no.. not now." a man in a tightly fit suit said as he lowered his phone from his ear and hung up. He turned to the man standing near him ready to go into the station, Derek Nally, was his name. He's the special guest of the day that was supposed to be getting interviewed by the new DJ in a couple minutes, but said DJ just didn't seem to be here. Or answering his phone. "Sir, I'm sorry I just don't know where Mr. Grey isn't here, so you'll have to just, I don't know wing the whole interview. Usually we'd at least rehearse some questions but since he's not here... Well, you'll do fine, you're you after all, haha." the man giggled waiting for the elevator to open up so they could get to the studio. Mic check should be soon, quickly followed by the show starting.

"Oh it's fine, I work best on the fly, it's always got more pizazz going for it, in my opinion." the tall man with black hair said. He had a suit on as well, his white and gold as opposed to the first man's black suit and tie, but his cut off halfway down his torso, revealing a just-as-white button-up underneath. Everything about him, from the way he talked to the way he dressed and acted was flamboyant and over the top, no doubt he could carry this whole interview even without an interviewer present.

"I'm going to call upstairs and let them know we're here. You should be on the air in about an hour, there should be somewhere you could warm your voice up in." He pulled his phone out once more and typed a few letters into it addressed to 'Gaia' reading "Has mic check started? Guest and I are in elevator heading up, no sign of Grey."

With a push of a button the message sent, and another set the elevator upwards toward the studio. This day could be going better, but hopefully it didn't go any worse.

As Grey sat snoozing in bed, time ticked by fast and several alarms went off. First his extra early alarm. That one didn't even stand a chance. Then his early alarm. Unlucky bastard. On time alarm went off, got him to stir, but he just snoozed it as he was accustomed to doing. It wasn't till the late alarm went off that the smooth lines of one-half of the rap group Eclipse finally penetrated his dreams and reminded him that he should at this point be VERY awake.

"...your Pidgy's missing an -ot. Your coupe's missing a flock. You see, the common theme's that they both got wings~ If you fly do it to-"

Suly's hand came down on the off button hard and he yawned, stretching as he looked to see the time. Double taking when he laid eyes on what time it actually was, Suly hightailed it out the bed and fell to the ground as he did so tripping to the ground. He scrambled to his feet and ran off to shower and dress. This had to be quick, quick, quick. A bunch of calls from the interview coordinator AND it was his first day!

"Grendel, GRENDEL! GET UP!"

He called out to his Noivern from the shower as the water ran, waking him up preemptively. The following few minutes was utter chaos as Sulyvahn tried to do his usual 30-minute morning routine within the course of around 7 minutes. His dreads weren't as thoroughly shampooed as they should've been, and he didn't have enough time to pick out something nice looking to impress his fellow workers and the man he was to be interviewing. Oh. Yeah. He didn't own any impressive clothing.

With that dilemma solved, Suly threw on a pretty casual outfit, all things considered. The chain he wore around his neck jingled quite loudly as he grabbed his large silver and black case. "Grendel, come on boy! Gotta move!"

He and his partner exited their small messy apartment, and he climbed onto Grendel's back as the dragon type flapped its wings and took off, heading directly towards the radio tower. Whilst balancing the case in his other arm, using his free arm Suly sent a message to the interview guy.

"Srry bout that, slept in a bit. I'll be there in two shakes of a lamb's tail."

With the message sent, he and Grendel descended upon their approach to the tower. Grey patted his pal's snout as he hopped off him, case in tow as he ran into the tower to speed towards his first job. Only about a half an hour late! Better than his last job! He rapidly pressed a button in the elevator and got in when the elevator was finally called, riding up to the floor where the studio was. As soon as the elevator door was open, he was off like a shot to the studio and awkwardly bumped shoulders with an older man standing in his path.

Leaning over and resting his hands on his knees, he huffed a bit as his dreads hung down into his face and his hood covered the back of his head.

"I-i'm here. Are we using traditional tracks or the newer kind?"

Sulyvahn hadn't actually looked at who was in the room or if he was in the right place at all, but he held up his case which was full of records. He caught his breath and waited, holding the case up.

Marcus Lupeworth

Marcus, entirely naked, leaned against his kitchen counter casually, sipping a cup of coffee absolutely loaded with sugar and creamer, and why wouldn’t he? He was entirely alone in his apartment, save for Scarlet of course, his weavile. Life was pretty good actually. It was going to be an easy day. Just run to the store and stock up on moo moo milk. He always got a bit of a weird feeling when he drank that stuff, but hey - It’s delicious. So who cares? And of course! Today was the reopening of the Radio Tower! And also his first day on the job…

Shit.

Twenty minutes later and he’s ready for war. Or, well, work. Aha! Just one last thing to accomplish. Marcus raced to the bathroom, brushing his teeth for the third time that morning. He smiled into the mirror - Immaculate as always. After spending a few minutes making weird faces into the mirror, Marcus practiced his smile just one last time. “Fuck that bullshit about eyes. Teeth are the window to the soul.” He blinked at himself. “In that case… my soul must be pure as a damn angel.”

And so, Marcus began to march out of his apartment, snagging a handful of hard caramels from the bowl on the kitchen table on his way, and popping one into his mouth. The rest always went into his pocket for later, and the bowl always stayed stocked. Scarlet stayed close behind her master, never trailing too far behind him. He keeps her safe.

A short walk later, and there he was. Marcus took in the sight of the majestic Goldenrod Radio Tower with pleasure. “Scarlet… I’m nervous as all hell right now. With that being said… Let’s go!” The pair marched their way into the tower, got into an elevator, got off on a random floor - Marcus had a good feeling about it - and promptly got themselves lost wandering the halls. “Okay Scarlet, new plan. Let’s look for somebody.” The pair once again marched their way around the tower, eventually finding a sole recording booth that seemed to have garnered considerable attention from a few individuals. Popping another caramel into his mouth, Marcus approached the group. Sadly, Plan B seemed to be doomed to failure as well. The group was already engaged in some sort of conversation. Well, might as well make the most of this time. Marcus studied each individual carefully. There seemed to be a fairly attractive woman with a thing for red, an angry looking guy in a trench coat, another woman leaning over a mic, and some guy that seemed really tired out. Marcus smiled genuinely. At least they seemed interesting.

Joshua was having a great day unlike the all the other days that had passed before. He got a new job and today was his first day, of course he knew the position he has is not gonna be a cake walk. But again at least he got a job the only down side was he had to wake up really early which was new for him. He fed himself and his Chimchar some food that would give them enough energy for the morning. On his way to the radio tower he took a shortcut and was there along with a big crowd of people, guess he was late?

See Joshua's job was basically he would go around and see what people needed help doing whether it was assisting them with their job, or having to run across town to pick up some food or whatever. He walked around seeing if anyone needed help and what surprised him was someone came to him for his first task. She had dragged him to do a sound check, so he was placed in the booth and she was on the other side waiting for him to speak.

"Um what should I say? Maybe I could talk about my buddy Chimchar? Oh or I could talk about how this is such an amazing job and I'm lucky to have it." Joshua thought maybe he just did the sound check while trying to figure out what to talk about. So he just waited for a reply from the girl.

But another girl came in and he couldn't hear what she was saying he kinda guessed she was flirting. Before Joshua decided to say something else another person walked in, and they didn't seem to be having as good of a day as him. He asked who they were and Joshua decided to speak up first.

"I'm Joshua or Josh for short, I'm basically the errand boy for this place. Who are you?" Joshua felt kinda intimidated by the man but still wasn't afraid to speak to him.

Eli walked briskly down the corridor ladened with boxes of cables and wires of all different sizes, lengths and even age; Eli was certain one or two were older than she was given how big the connectors were. She grimaced at another cable snaking its way from its place, ignoring her pleas for it to stop, and landed with a heavy thud on the floor.

Luckily enough Lutana was on the case and plucked the cable up in his mouth, along with the other cables that had been dropped further back, trotting along after Eli.

Eli mouthed ‘thank you’ to her Umbreon feeling very glad that she had decided to let him out of his pokeball. Although it seemed that pretty much everyone had their pokemon out as well to lend a hand with all the jobs that needed to be done, Eli had thought that all the preparation work would’ve been done before the opening but evidence proved otherwise. The corridor branched in two directions at the end and here Eli stopped trying to figure out which way she had to go.

“Recording Booths…where are the recording booths.” She mumbled under her breath. “Maybe I should go to the offices first?” She didn’t know which way that was either.

She decided that she give it a minute or two, to see if anyone who knew their way around the building appeared, before trying to head off on her own. After the building didn't look to be that big outside, so she couldn't get too lost.

‘Sidney’ didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence, as Gaia’s hand shot out and clapped over the girl’s mouth. “Whatever it is, it can wait two minutes. Now be quiet.” the sound engineer said, her brow furrowed. She cocked her head slightly. There was something there that shouldn’t have been there. “Where the hell is that static coming from?” she muttered, touching and adjusting sliders across the board, though it brought about no change. A low, constant hiss came through the speakers, not loud enough to obscure anything, but still enough to be noticeable.

“Who the hell are you people?”

Gaia barely spared a glance at the older man at the door, still focused on the sound board. “I work here, what’s your excuse?” She gritted her teeth. Still, the static was unchanging. “Why the hell isn’t this~” She stopped as sliders began to move seemingly by themselves. “What the,” an exasperated sigh escaped Gaia’s lips, and she leaned on the board, glowering. “Very funny. Get out of there.” The sliders moved again, forming an approximation of a smiling face. Gaia’s glower became more severe. ”NOW.”

Electricity crackled across the soundboard, and a bolt of blue lightning shot out of it, zipping over the heads of everyone in the room and out into the hallway. Pushing past the man blocking the door, Gaia hollered. “Whoever has a Rotom, keep it out of the sound equipment! I don’t want a short circuit in the middle of a broadcast!” Shaking her head, she plopped back down into her chair. “People.” Looking up into the booth at Josh, she rubbed her forehead. “Just, talk, Josh. I don’t care about what, I just need to establish some base settings.”

Recalling that someone else had talked to her, Gaia turned to the cute redhead standing beside her, eye flicking over her outfit. “Who are you again?” Her tone was equal parts tired, confused, and curious, mixed with slight irritation. Her job was sound, not dealing with people.

Before Sidney could even get her flirtations done, a hand was shoved over her mouth, silencing her. She blinked, a bit surprised by the action. Now, there weren't many things that could stop Sidney's mouth from running, but a hand from a cute girl being placed on her mouth was one of the many things that could do such a thing. The redhead chuckled to herself quietly. Well, she hadn't exactly said no, so that was permission to continue as far as she cared.

"Who the hell are you people?"

Ignoring the mans question for now, she instead focused back on the girl, and on the guy who had apparently been helping her with something.

"I'm Joshua or Josh for short, I'm basically the errand boy for this place. Who are you?" He answered the older man. Well, she might as well introduce herself again now.

“Who are you again?"

Especially since she was being asked a question by the current target of her flirtations. She sounded stressed. She wondered if she could possibly help with that in some manner?~

"Hehe, well someone takes their job seriously. How about I take ya out somewhere after this so you can relax?~" She gave Gaia a somewhat suggestive smirk, making it very clear what she might have meant by that. Now, whether she truthfully meant it or not was an entirely different story, and before Gaia could respond though, she quickly turned back to the gathered group, a big grin on her face as she addressed everyone gathered. Placing a hand on her hip and giving them the best smile she could muster, she introduced herself once again.

"Hiya, folks!~" She cheerily replied to the gathered group. "Sidney Garland, at your service! Radio host, information gatherer extraordinaire, amateur writer and your new best friend!" She chuckled a bit at that, giving Joshua a wink before clearing her throat, becoming just about as serious as she ever was. "I'm working here starting today. I'm supposed to be hosting a talk show of some sorts in this room, and as much fun as it would be to have an audience for the show, I think I'd better start off a bit small, yeah? Don't want any interruptions when I'm wooing the audience with my adorable voice. So if you don't have any business here, if you could all do me a favor and leave for a bit, that'd be lovely, thank you~! I'll treat you all to dinner sometime, yeah?~"

Certain that would be enough to get them to leave, she then turned back to Gaia.

"Hehe, sorry about that, but I wanna get this show on the road sooner rather than later." She took a look over at the controls the other woman was messing with. It was rather obvious she was a sound engineer of sorts, so chances were she should probably at least get in good with her if she wanted to do good here. "Anyways, I'm certain a lovely girl like you has an equally lovely name?~"

terrible pickup line number two initiated. Actually, that was three.

Good morning thank you for calling Goldenrod radio tower, Denni Haderleigh speaking how may I be of assistance? No that's way too long Denni muttered to herself as she got ready for the morning. It was still earlier than the sun itself, she had never been used to getting ready before the sun but then again this was also her first day working and her first time ever opening up a radio station a day for firsts she thought to herself. Today Denni could not wear her crop tops or her shorts today was a day to make an impression, she put on a Shuppet Blue skirt with a matching blazer jacket, sleeves rolled up to come across somewhat stylish, a deep purple blouse and the perfect height of high heels. She had been pinching pennies ever since she found out she got the job just to look great on her first day. Having no idea what she was going to wear tomorrow she called upon her Haunter Hal and they headed out set right for the day.

Goldenrod radio tower my name is Denni how may I be of assistance? Damn it still to long. Denni was really stuck on the details of pretty much everything. She needed this job if not for her sake for Hal's. Denni had never been much for Pokemon except for Hal, her incorporeal friend was someone she knew she could always rely on, like now while stressing about how to say hi over the phone Hal was stretching his face in many a different way in effort to entertain himself and Denni, she noticed and it made her smile inside but she kept a stern face if only to make the Haunter try harder.

A quick stop to the Pokemart for a water and then Denni was at the tower. Thinking she was going to arrive early she was left dumbfounded to find the lobby, her work space filled to the brim with people. She was not late that was for sure. Right before she began panicking Haunter licked her left hand. It went numb, but it was a tactic that the duo had built together if things weren't in order he'd give her a small lick and then she would have to concentrate on regaining feeling. It worked, it always did. As Denni began to regain feeling and control in the tips of her digits she looked up to the sound of a ding and noticed everyone was gone. Great first impression Miss head of public relations. She was mad but she knew she could relax now.

She sat down at her desk still looking for the perfect wording for her telephone greeting. She booted up her PC to a very bland desktop. That'll need some changing she said aloud. She picked up a quiet telephone once more in practice. Goldenrod tower Denni speaking how may I help you? There was no dial tone no nothing. She looked at the time on the PC and noticed there were only 10 minutes until the station was officially open and the first show would be underway. No time to send an email to tech support she figured she had a good lay of the building she could probably power walk to the tech office and have a resolution in 9 minutes and be ready faster than a Jolteon.

She started marching into the hallways first a left, then a right one more right and she'd be where she needed to be. She stopped herself quickly at the sight of a girl more than likely the same age as her with red hair and her Umbreon carrying enough cable to wire the entire building. Noticing the unmistakable look of being lost on her face Denni stopped and thought to herself A good receptionist should help a person in need. She walked up to the girl and with the most sincere smile said Hi there, is there anything I can do to help? she was sure that she had just presented herself in a polite professional manner. Now if only she could be that sure of Hal.

"Damn, I'm more tired than I thought..." Dwight mumbled quietly to himself as he wiped his tired eyes. He was tired, achey and could smell the dust and sweat on his body. A shower was going to be needed before he crashed for the day.

The group of people had been joined by a fourth person, and all of them looked so young. Shaking his head ruefully, he let his hand drop back down to his side. Everyone else seemed to be filled with energy and youth, compared to him and his tired old bones. Stifling a large yawn, the large man leaned against the doorway.

"Sorry 'bout that. Haven't slept a wink at all. I'm Dwight." Dwight said as he flashed his ID card on its lanyard, before addressing the flustered-looking women fiddling with the sound system. She seemed to be harassed by a red head that was trying, to whisper honeyed words to her. Emphasis on the words "tried" and "whisper" as Dwight heard every cheesy pick up line that left the redhead's painted lips.

"Hey miss, if there's any issue with the electrical, just call me. I was working on the generators last night, and they seem to be working smoothly." Dwight paused before continuing to address the room as a whole, "I'm going down to get breakfast, anybody want anything?"

Marcus turned on his heel and began to walk away, sighing in defeat. The pretty redhead - that hair couldn’t be natural - Sidney, made it abundantly clear that he, and most of the other folks around her, ought to clear out. Marcus wasn’t quite sure what to make of the new host. She was easy on the eyes, at least. And besides, her words earlier implied a free meal might be in the works further down the line. He long ago resolved that anyone willing to buy him food was worth befriending, or at the very least, staying on good terms with.

Sucking on the sweet caramel in his mouth thoughtfully, his mind drifted to the other individuals present. Next to Sidney, Trench Coat guy was certainly the one to make the biggest impression on him. Dwight something or other, Marcus thought. He seemed just a bit miffed about something to say the least. That fellow certainly wasn’t hard to look at himself, but he seemed just a tad scary.

Deeper into his thoughts Marcus sank, so deep in fact, that he wound up walking right into an unsuspecting employee while Scarlet snickered to herself. “Oh, hey, sorry about that.” - Here now Marcus began to rub the back of his neck awkwardly for a while, to really sell the fact that he was apologetic. He, in fact, was not. - “Anyways, I’m incredibly lost, and you are?”

Seems like his work in the booth was done, so Joshua exited the booth and proceeded to exit the room. But as he was in the door frame he told everyone that if they needed something done just come find him. Now that his first task was over he didn't know what to do now. He does remember Dwight saying something about breakfast, even though Joshua already ate he could follow Dwight just to have a sense where everything important is.

Joshua had this sudden realization he was already blindly following Dwight who was a couple feet ahead of him. Joshua quickened his pace to catch up and was able to walk side by side with Dwight. "So your the electrician, that's cool." he opened with that just to break the ice. "It also sounds like you have a lot on your plate so I won't take up much of your time, but is there by chance anything I could possibly do for you?" he asked.

Before her was a person who was ever so kindly looking to help her. But she was a person, and Eli had finished deciding how she was supposed to have even asked for help let alone respond to an offer! Eli felt her brain stutter to a halt; she hadn’t had a chance to rehearse anything!

“um.” She threw a pleading glance down at Lutana.

Lutana, being a Pokémon who was unable to speak human, was only able to look between his trainer and the other one trying to encourage Eli to think faster and speak. Lutana then looked up to the Haunter and tried to explain the situation, as best one good with their mouth full.
After what felt like ages Eli felt her brain finally start up again and was halfway through saying “Yes please”, which then very quickly became a bad word after someone walked into her from behind sending the very full boxes of cables tumbling out of her grasp and onto Lutana.

“Lutana!” Eli cried.

Thankfully Lutana had only been slightly dazed by the heaps of cables now covering him.

The elevator doors opened, and strutting out was the guest of the day, Derek Nally. Following shortly behind in a much less flashy manner was Russel. "To the right, I don't know if sound check started but... Oh, of course there are 90 people in the booth at the moment. That's totally how you check levels." he said, pinching the bridge of his nose. At least some of them were heading out, it seemed. None of them happened to be the DJ he was looking for, however.

"I like how lively this place is, so much energy, unh!" He loudly grunted and winked at everyone in the room with a swing of his hips and a click from his tongue.

"Uh, ah, YEAH! This is what it's like here at Goldenrod Radio tower. Like this all the time. And you all... uh, can stay and watch as we sound check Mr. Nally, like we usually definitely do." Russel said with a terrible fake calm voice, looking at those that remained in the sound booth. He looked to Gaia in particular with a look of distress and confusion, his buizel simply ignoring everything and trying to get everyone to pet him. "Gaia, get ready, Nally likes to yell so you're going to have to do a bit of adjusting from time to time. Ready Mr. Nally?" the man in the tight suit said, adjusting the microphone to be near, but not too near the mouth of the guest.

"I'm always ready, hot stuff." He said, stroking Russel's chin seductively. Russel just grinned awkwardly.

Oh dear! Denni cried out nearly getting hit by a three-pound cord the side of her head. Hal could do nothing but laugh at the sight just because Denni always seemed to have good intentions didn't mean her Haunter was the same. Denni quickly helped the poor Umbreon out from the mass of cables.

As she began to assist this poor cable burdened girl, she caught the last bit of what the gentleman who had caused the calamity asked. Coincidentally I was just about to help our fallen comrade find her way. With one good tug Denni pulled the red head to her feet only to quickly lose her balance and fall backwards onto her rear. Hal was now floating upside down howling at the sight before him. Hal! Not funny! This flustered demand only made the Pokemon laugh loud enough to resonate amongst the halls.

Denni took a deep breath and looked upwards at her two human counterparts, My name is Denni I'm the receptionist and head of public relations. I would love to assist both of you to wherever you may be needing to go.

There was no way she was going to get to IT and fix her phone before the first broadcast. But hey she was making friends right?

For a long moment, Gaia was quiet as she regarded the red head. Was she actually… hitting on her? For real? “Gaia.” She finally answered, looking the girl up and down before turning her attention back to the sound board. “And I hope you've got some better lines than those, because they were awful.”

She waved off the other two men as they left, already having forgotten the name of the grumpy one. She had stuff to do before the broadcast. “You must be either loaded or really confident you won't get tossed out on your ass though, promising everyone dinner like that,” she said dryly. If she was being honest with herself, dinner did sound nice, she'd been eating take-out food for the past couple months as it was. Gaia had a sneaking suspicion, though, that “dinner” would probably mean some shitty fastfood place. Sara (Sophia? Susan? Screw it, she'll just call her CB) looked like she was barely beyond fresh out of college, which meant that if she wasn't rich she was probably broke. And if she was broke, then she'd probably expect Gaia to pay.

A buzzing in her pocket distracted her from whatever the other girl’s answer was. Roman, or maybe it was Rick, some promoter dude she'd been introduced to the other day at any rate, was on his way up with a ’special guest’. Whatever that meant. Rolling her eyes, she texted him back.

R:In the middle of the check now. Who is it?

The answer came back not ten seconds later, sending Gaia’s eyes shooting wide. “Aw, shit!” In an instant, she was on her feet, spinning Suzie around and pushing her towards the recording booth. “If you're gonna talk, CB, do it into the fucking mike, just get your butt in there so I can finish this! We don't have a lot of time!” She quickly returned to her seat, sliding her headphones into place. Flirty attitudes could come later, right now, she had work to do.

@Thundercrash - More flirting (Unsurprisingly)
@Experiment 249 - talking with Nally

"Heh, maybe not loaded, but I have my ways~" She giggled, giving Gaia a bright grin. She wasn't talking about some cheap fast food restaurant, or well, any fancy restaurant really. More...upscale jazz club that she had a free pass too thanks to being 'friends' with the owner. And by that, she meant he owed her a rather large favor. A little secret for later, though. For now, it seemed things were about to get started, and now that the crowd had gotten out of her recording room, then this would be easy!!~

"Wow, someone's getting right to the fun stuff." Sidney giggled as she allowed herself to be spun around, and shown to the recording room.

"I was serious about dinner by the way. Hit me up after work. I know a great little place you'd just love~" With that, she walked into the room and set her own stuff into a desk provided and took a seat at the mic. She knew how these worked, more or less. Wasn't her first time doing something like this, though it was her first time doing it public like this.

"HELLO!~" She spoke loudly into the mic. Well, sounded good to her. Thankfully, it looked like most everything was in order. Now, all she had to do was wait for them to go on air and with the arrival of a one Derek Nally, it seemed like that was going to be getting here fairly soon.

Seeing Mr. Nally outside of the recording booth, she waved and motioned for him to come inside. She wanted to get this show on the road as soon as she could. Honestly, she was a little miffed about having to share her first time on the radio waves with Nally, but such was life. She'd just have to woo the audience with her charms regardless of whether this guy interfered or not~

As soon as he stepped inside, she'd greet him as energetically as she did everyone else.

"So you're Derek Nally, huh?~ Sidney Garland." She would hold out a hand, obviously meant for shaking. "I'm running a talk show here, and you're our honored guest number one!~ Take a seat love, and we'll get this show started~"
