"Good night sir. Enjoy your coffee!" Xhen waved happily as the last and final customer of the night strolled out of the coffee shop with a grin. Wiping her hands on her apron after she untied the straps and placed it on the hook, Obachan smiled at her and handed the mixed race female an envelope of cash.

"Here you go sweet heart. It's your paycheck. You did a good job this week!"

Xhen's face lit up as she accepted her money and bowed her head slightly. "Thank you so much Oba," she replied before wiping up the counters and heading for the exit. She took a quick glance at her advertisement on the way out and noticed that a couple paper strips of her cell number was torn from the bottom. Oh, I'm sure I'll get a reply soon! Breathing in the crisp night air of Darkwell, she looked up at the moonlit sky blanketed in stars and twinkling lights. Suddenly a shooting star soared through her line of vision... or at least she thought it was. Actually, it was Whitney in her true form, but Xhen didn't know that. Clasping her eyes shut, she quickly made a wish and headed for Queen's apartment up the sidewalk.

Passing by the city bus stop, a box had been left underneath the waiting bench. Upon closer inspection, Xhen noticed that it said FREE PUPPY. A short gasp escaped her lips as she heard a whimper. Eyes softening as she approached, another crying yelp erupted out of the cardboard container as Xhen kneeled by the seat and peeked in.

An excited squeal burst from the top of Xhen's throat as she reached down and picked up the small pup. "Aren't you just the cutest little thing? I guess I'm taking you home huh?" The dark haired girl giggled a bit when the tiny dog licked the tip of her nose. Standing back up with her new companion snuggled in her arms, Xhen sighed pleasantly as she felt the tiny creature's heartbeat against her chest.

"This is your new home bud," She told her doggy as she entered her apartment and placed the pup down on the hardwood floor. Filling a bowl with water and grabbing a slice of cooked but cold bacon from the fridge, she beckoned the dog back and fed it some food. "Hmm, what should I call you?" The dark haired girl wondered aloud. Her brain was so fried nothing came to mind. "I guess I'll be calling you just Puppy for now," Xhen mumbled in defeat as she petted it's little head.

Picking Puppy up, she decided to enjoy the fresh night-time on the rooftop of the apartment building. Xhen leaned on the ledge as she observed in awe at the sparkling lights of the city. "Do you see this Puppy? It's beautiful!" Seeming to understand what she said, the canine barked joyfully in response. After a few minutes, it started to whimper and Xhen's brows furrowed in confusion. "What's wrong bud? Do you see something?" Squinting at another building just a few blocks over, she noticed a familiar red head. "Oh my gosh... i-is that Nova?" She whispered in shock. Her pupils continuing to trail the rooftop, there were two other figures up there as well: a purple beast and a dragon? Xhen slapped at her cheek lightly to try and wake herself. There is no freakin' way! Realizing that her friend was in danger, Xhen sprinted back to her apartment to drop off Puppy. "Stay here and behave ok? I've got to go save my friend!"

Rushing out of the apartment complex, Xhen darted down the streets of Darkwell toward the correct location. Checking if the coast was clear, Xhen exhaled deeply and morphed her features. Nine white tails sprouted from her lower back and black fox ears popped up on the crown of her head. She'd done this just last week and had been working on it in the safety of her home ever since. "Here goes nothing," she muttered before latching onto a drainage pipe and scaling the side of the building onto the rooftop. "Nova!" Xhen called as she ran to the red head's side. "Please don't be afraid, I'm here to help you," she explained, hoping that her new friend wouldn't be scared of her. Besides, the purple dude and the giant dragon were more intimidating than her at this point.

The Darkwell Cafe

He knew it! She didn't say anything but the voices got louder... And sounded kind of distressed. Hm. His thoughts were interupted by the voices lady quickly running away into the back of the resturant, Alrion attempted to follow with a cry of, "Hey wait!" but he was firmly intercepted and told that he wasn't allowed back there. Sighing Aliron took a seat and pondered what to do while eating his food. He really wanted to talk to the voices lady and figure out what that whole deal was about. Aliron paid his meal and left, he wasn't really feeling up to trying to get a job right now, all he wanted to do was play some league. So, several minutes later, next to a building with wifi he'd managed to get into so he didn't have to use his own, Aliron began playing. Several games later Aliron rummaged in his suitcase for a snack and found that a letter was in there somehow. Curiously prying it open Aliron found that it was some sort of invitation for a party, with a raffle for a free high end computer no less! Not to mention free food and drink there was no way he wasn't going. He read it again and found that it was going to be held at the Darkwell Diner, sweet, he already knew where the place was and everything. It was like the event had been hand-tailored to be awesome for him. Aliron threw himself into his next games with renewed energy. As his marathon progressed Aliron somehow managed to fall asleep right where he was, the whispering voices barely even bothering him for some reason, dreaming about how awesome the party was going to be

For the second time in a row Aliron's eyes shot up and he looked around frantically, woken by a sudden voice. It sounded like... VOICES LADY. Speaking of which the other voices were a lot louder now. Still impossible to tell what they were saying but it felt kind of menacing. Aliron suddenly stood up, jamming his laptop into his suitcase. He ran towards where he thought he'd heard it and for a second he'd thought he'd just gotten himself lost. Then he heard a faint cry of 'Why is this happening to me!', he knew he was on track. Aliron ran around the corner, suitcase rumbling over the pavement behind him and he pointed one finger triumphantly and the voices lady, "Aha, found you!." his excitement was suddenly diluted by the fact that she was bleeding and she looked rather different. And had some sort of instrument. And was floating. Huh. "Uh, voices lady. Are you okay? Do you need help?" Had she just like, gotten mugged? Or worse, mugged someone else?! Maybe it was just like some sort of movie. That happened right? Filming people did weird stuff that looked weird but it was just normal. But he didn't see any cameras. Or any people. In fact the general area was remarkably bare of people for being in a city.

After work, Claire headed home for a brief power nap and a soothing warm bath. She hadn't paid much attention to her surroundings earlier at the diner since the day was so hectic, but she had noticed the atmosphere within the diner had been rather unusual and somehow charged with a certain energy. Claire had paid no mind to it, thinking it was the rather unusually warm day that got everyone out and about.

Speaking of warm, Claire hadn't felt comfortable standing in a particular section of the diner, around the booth where the argument was happening between the two patrons. She would've handled it, yet Iris had stepped in before she did and Claire had let her settle it. Which was all fine and dandy in her world. Claire sank deeper into the water, the soothing oils and scents from the lavender infused bath bomb, helping her body to relax. She sighed contentedly.

---

Claire had finished and dried herself off, and now she was standing in front of her mirror gazing at the ball of ice-blue energy in her hands. Deep azure blue wings had materialized at her back (luckily it didn't destroy the spaghetti nightgown she was currently wearing) and she felt an exhilarating energy pumping through her. Much like the other night, her apartment had started to freeze from the superchilled air. Her curiosity got the best of her and she stepped out into the balcony, tossing the ball of ice onto the sidewalk, and watching it freeze over.

With childlike joy painted on her features, she launched another ball of ice into the air and watched it explode, scattering small chunks of ice around. Her blue eyes looked to the starry heavens as a question floated into her thoughts.
"How far can I go?" Claire asked herself. After some time spent exerting some energy, she felt the air superchill from the feel of a warm spring night into a cold winter night within her local proximity. She ran back inside and quickly put on a pair of black gym shorts underneath her nightgown and her running shoes (grabbing her phone and keys as well, we mustn't forget those!) before running back out into the balcony. She raised a palm at the horizon and watched as a mass of howling white-blue clouds approach her from a distance. Winds screamed, pushing frosty air and small particles of ice into the region. Was that a snowstorm forming?

The White Supremacy deafeningly screeched to a stop, its break lights glowing bright red. Samantha slowly pushed the stick into park and, with a moment of pause, took the keys out of the ignition. With the AC of her chipping, white car now off, the sticky humidity of a mid-summer's night began to ebb into the Jeep. The woman, whose darkly painted eyes blended into the night, gazed at a moment at her destination that she had parked in front of.

The house was not the best. It wasn't one of those sturdy, new brick houses, but was, instead, an older one with wood paneling. The outside paneling was better than it once was. Sam remembered vividly how when they had first found this house the cover was one of a faded and cracked white. It had been she that had made the effort to paint the whole outside of the house to a darker grey. She even remembered the shade: 'Soot'.

As she crept out of her white Jeep that had been gifted the name of the 'White Supremacy', she looked out onto the lawn. The grass was being well kept. A pang of sadness hit her knowing that whoever was mowing it now did a much better job than she had. They even went to the effort of weed eating the edges.

The usually fearsome woman felt and looked very smallish as her footsteps moved their way up along the familiar sidewalk, passing the flowerbed in front that made her have to swallow down her emotion. She got to the white door and waited for a long time before she knocked. Sam took very deep, though shaky, breaths to try to calm her heart beat, to slow her thoughts. Despite her efforts it did not relent and mentally she chastised herself on being so emotional. It had been 2 1/2 months now. She should be over it by now. Be an independent woman now! You deserved better than her anyway, she tried to convince herself, but she knew that she was lying to herself.

Her knock was quiet and quick. She waited a long moment before realizing no one had heard. Sam gritted her teeth and knocked again, this time building the courage to knock a solid, loud three times. From inside she heard a, "I'm coming!" In the time it took for the door to open she had tried to gain some courage, some hold, but that all disappeared when the door finally opened.

In the doorway stood Evelyn. The short, pink haired woman looked as if she was about to go to bed, wearing some very short cloth shorts and an oversized AFI t-shirt. Sam noted with sadness that she knew the shirt was not Evelyn's, but it was someone else's, a man's. Evelyn, a shadow with yellow light streaming behind her, looked her up and down and only said, "Oh, it's you." In a displeased tone that made Sam cringe. "So, what is it? You're here to finally talk to me?"

Sam stood there, legs feeling like rubber and her stomach twisted in knots, with her eyes unable to look at the other woman's. It took her a moment to answer, but she had managed to do it with an even enough tone. "No, not really. I just came to get the last of my things."

"Oh, is that right? You mean the Xbox and the rest of your clothes?" Sam nodded in reply, her eyes still on anywhere except the gorgeous woman with the toxic tone. "Well," Evelyn paused, "you can call me a bitch all you want, but I'm not giving them to you," the woman moved to lean a little on the door frame, "not until you finally tell me what I did wrong."

"Evelyn..." she attempted.

"No! Don't pull that crap. I want an answer as to why all of a sudden you've stopped texting me and you've blocked me on all social media. You literally just stopped talking to me and left for no reason!" The woman's tongue lashed at Sam as if it were a whip. It stung. "Not to mention that you left me to pay the full $850 of rent two and a half months ago when you just decided to leave." This next lash came with her screaming, "How the fuck did you think that was okay?!"

"I just... I couldn't deal with being in this house." She began. "You being here made me feel like shit." She croaked this out and her voice was evidently cracking now. The humid warmth of the surroundings seemed to escalate, but Sam didn't notice too much.

"Really? That's your excuse? You left me in a horrible situation. Thank God Jonathan covered for your half of the rent or I might be on the streets right now."

The name made Sam flinch noticeably, but with the mention also kindled some new found anger that she pathetically threw back. "Yeah, thank God for Jonathan, huh?" She said with sarcasm.

"Yeah. What? You have a problem with him?"

Sam's confidence grew, as well as her anger. "You know what, yeah. Yeah, I fuckin' do have a problem with the man who my girl friend cheated with."

This seemed to pause Evelyn's train of anger. Her tone changed to one that wasn't so bold -- defensive. "I didn't cheat on you."

"Oh yeah, then what the hell do you call it when you sleep with another person other than your girl friend? Huh? Educate me." Sam challenged.

There was a bit of hesitation and then came the denial. "Now, you can't pull that on me, Sam. You knew I had urges and you knew I was curious." She didn't seem entirely convicted as she said this, but it was still her rationalization. "It's not cheating if it's with a man, okay? It's just different plumbing."

"You can rationalize it all you fucking want, Evelyn! I don't give a shit." She raged. "You still broke my heart!" Angry tears began to fall down her face. "I was in love with you for three years and one day you tell me that you slept with a man at your work named Jonathan." She said this and it was as if a spigot had finally been turned and everything was coming out as a quick steam that had been held back for a long time. "So, yes, I couldn't deal with it so I left! I whacked out! You could even say I was a little crazy for a while there. I blocked you on everything because I couldn't deal with you posting all that shit with you and your fresh, new love, Jonathan, and how you painted me as a bitch who had just left you." At this point the heat had grown to one matching a small bonfire and Evelyn seemed suddenly very shocked by it and confused. Sam's t-shirt began to spark along the edges with ember before catching into small fires all over her body.

Shocked at this and alarmed Evelyn tried her best to stammer, "Sam, your clothes are--"

"Fuck you, Evelyn! Go to hell!" With this a bright fire sprung from her hands and her eyes glowed with magma without her knowing and Evelyn screamed and frantically began to back away from the door.

Hearing this, a masculine voice from inside rushed up into the hallway shouting, "What the fuck is going on--?!" Jonathan's voice faded as he witnessed the fireballs in Samantha's hands. His eyes locked on the phenomenon and widened to the size of saucers.

Sam looked to see what was frightening everyone and she cried out when she saw what was roaring all over her hands. She staggered back in terror and began to try to frantically pat it down as Evelyn screamed, "She's trying to kill me!" To this, Jonathan's bravery to protect his woman overcame his fear of the fire. He lunged at a baseball bat that was resting against a wall and began to rush at Sam.

The fright that had overwhelmed Sam seemed to coincide with the flames quickly disappearing and she made a break for her Jeep, screaming as she ran. It was a miracle that she managed to get in the car, start the ignition, and drive off before the man had started to beat up her sad car.

Sam sped off into the night, driving like a wild woman, her heart beating as fast as the road flew underneath her tires. It took her a long time before she finally made it back to her apartment building. For a long time she sat in the car sobbing, racking her throat with cries and yelling. The first eternity of crying was fueled on sorrow and confusion. The second eternity began to be fueled by anger. A fierce rage that would be ejected every time she cried out suddenly or beat at the steering wheel of her car. With this her hands would suddenly alight into a fearsome flame that she would frustratingly pat down. A cycle of fire being lit by anger and being put out again by fear. Sam didn't care, but anyone on the outside in the uncharacteristically cold night would see flashes of bright flame arise (definitely brighter than a mere lighter) in the car only to disappear and reappear again.

@DFA (Claire and Sam inhabit the same apartment building, and Claire would see the car in the parking lot from the roof.)

More and more panic began to overwhelm her. The government was going to come after her, stretch her out in the middle of one of those white rooms, and dissect her like a frog. Whitney quivered roughly, her claws curling into the brick walls of the apartment complex. Should she run? Where would she even go? Perhaps she should go to the Amazon, or Siberia... somewhere where people couldn't get to her. Who knows, she thought, her heart aching a severe amount. Maybe they've already sent people after me. What will I tell Mom and Dad?

Something akin to a fever broke out upon her body, and the stars that spun around her scaly figure increased in speed. They flew around her in a vicious orbit, the whiteness that coated them growing significantly in intensity. As Whitney thought, she heard someone scream below her. The stars slowed again as she peeked over the edge of the roof, noticing a blue-haired girl rushing down the street. That boy that sat next to her followed her, and for a moment, she wondered if she should be concerned. She had seen both of them at the diner, and she wondered if the boy was chasing after the wailing woman now.

But before she could even lift a claw, she was approached by two other people. Whitney turned her head in shock, her blue eyes blinking down at the small people. They took defensive stances, but they did not seem like they came here looking for trouble. If not, one of them looked just as confused as she was. "I saw you two at the diner," she said, her eyes growing wide as she spotted the tails on the dark-haired young lady. Wait... was that Ahri? Ahri's tails and ears... and the red-head had something akin to Vi's gauntlets! "I'm so confused..."

The wind suddenly picked up, and Whitney turned her head to the usually clear sky. Ominous clouds could be seen at a distance, and she could feel their cold embrace even from where she was laying. "Is it just me, or did someone lower the AC?" she couldn't help but crack a joke.

"Wouldn't be surprised. Someone decided today would be the best day for Darkwell to go to shit."

Well. She wasn't wrong. Seemed like everything was happening today. And when she said all of it, she meant all of it. There's the mugging, a bunch of screaming people, a dragon and an alien. How else could this day go? Nova sighed, then turning to the other girl who just showed up. "Ahri? Wait. Xhen?" The girl tilted her head in confusion, then shifting to the dragon. Wait. AS. Sol. Brilliant. What the hell was going on? There wasn't any cons in Darkwell, as far as she knew. Then again, everyone's confused. "What the hell..."

She took a deep breath, looking at her arms. Maybe there was more to this? She felt some more energy in her, a lot more really. It wasn't the adrenaline kicking in, it was something else. With another deep breath and closing her eyes, the aura of her gauntlets expanded to full Vi sized gauntlets. Then over her tee shirt and jeans was an aura of armor, and goggles on her head. Chuckling slightly, Alexis punched her fists together, all of the aura solidified into what seemed to be a black and gold Vi skin, along with her hair shifting with it. "Nailed it."

"I'm not even going to question now, honestly this," With her new gauntlets, she gestured to herself and her form change with chuckle. "Isn't the weirdest thing today. What's your name, Sol?" Nova said, relaxing her arms. She turned away from her, looking off the rooftop, leaning her hands on the edge of the roof. She wasn't expecting this to be a simple explanation, though one thing was certain. "This is gonna be a long night, isn't it?"

“I heard that they’re planning a few muggings tonight,” Rachel told Iris as they sat with the rest of their gang behind the Goodwill. “In our city! What the heck guys, what the heck? We gonna just let’em do that?”

There were assorted comments to the negative, and Rachel bounced her head up and down in that odd, ostrich-like manner she adopted whenever she was getting pumped about something. “Thank goodness for our resident nerd, right? Otherwise, we wouldn’t know exactly where they’re gonna be. We wouldn’t be able to mess’em up as bad as we’re gonna!” She was pacing side to side on the top of the dumpster that made her podium, and pulled out her phone. “Here are your assignments, kids. Show’em we won’t stand for that sort of uncivilized behavior in our city!”

It was gonna be a bad night for crooks and thieves, for the Goodwill Gangsters, the only real gang with any claims to Darkwell’s streets, were on the case. They were a somewhat odd group; though made of the same sorts of discarded society members as any other gang, the GGs preferred to spend their time in little charity acts, video games, and the random calls to action to pull out some vigilante justice. They were a good group, one that Iris was proud to be part of.

“G…” she said, as she took the stamp and patted it on the ink pad again, “G.” The two letters stood in resolute irreverence on the foot-taller lady-thug’s forehead, and Iris smirked to herself. She’d taken down her target quickly, and marked her with the permanent ink that would tell them during the day whom they had taken down during the night.
But it had been a weird fight. The thug lady had jumped Iris, as expected, but seemed to have more trouble with some sort of internal pain than with Iris’ steel knuckles. Eventually, she’d just crumpled over for no real reason that Iris could tell. Iris had checked to make sure it wasn’t a heart attack or something, but it didn’t seem to be.

Iris stepped back, admiring her handiwork, and nodded to herself. She turned to continue her walk when a Jeep flew by her, barely missing her by just inches. She jumped back onto the sidewalk, eyes wide and adrenaline once more pouring through her, cursing loudly into the night. What the heck was that, some drunk who couldn’t see properly? She stared after the Jeep until noticing that it had turned into the apartment complex just two stops away, and decided to go give that person a piece of her mind.

The Jeep was still idling in its parking spot, headlights illuminating the building ahead of it, when Iris caught up, and Iris walked up to the driver window, prepared to angrily bang on it. Then she realized that she was still wearing her knuckles, and as she took those off, she glanced into the car and saw not only that the driver was that punk girl from the diner that morning, but also that she was ON FIRE! Iris let out a little shriek, forgiving the driver for a moment, and panicked. She tore off her leather jacket, put back on the knuckles, jumped onto the little foot stool at the driver door, and rammed her hand through the window, followed by her other hand with the jacket in tow. She didn’t say anything but muddled yelps as she slammed the jacket down on the flames, putting them out as she pretty much ignored the lady herself.
She slowed her ministrations as it became clear that the fire was out for now, and with one final pat, removed her jacket and stared at the woman. “SMOKING IS VERY BAD FOR YOU!” was all she could think to blurt, her terrified eyes wide as saucers as she now clung to the door with one hand.

For some, video games are just that. Games. For fun. Meant for people to relax with, an escape from reality. Perhaps even a way to create social connections. For Charles, it was none of these. For him, every time he pressed that big golden 'play' button, it was deadly-serious. It was a battlefield, every game was fought as if it would determine his entire life. In someways, maybe it did. Maybe that border around his icon in the loading screen determined his self worth.

Maybe, he only cared about how he stacked up to everyone else in life, depending on which of them had the highest ELO. Just like he judged people by their grades, how much money they earned, and just how smart they were. Strategy was all that mattered to Charles, both in life, and in League.

In a way, one could say that League was his life, while he wasn't a pro, the game was his biggest passion, a bigger passion than engineering or going to the gym. Certainly more important than him grabbing a couple of beers with friends - not that he had any friends. People weren't motivated the same way he was. They did not know what he wanted.

As he was wrapping up the game, the victory screen came up, once again, his team had clutched a game from the jaws of defeat due to his tactical brilliance and mechanical skill on his favorite character inside of the game. And with that, The Maverick aimed at signing out.

When he felt a dazing-sensation in his limbs, and his vision went dark, only for a second later erupt in a golden light - in a dark room.

Charles fell on his back on the wooden floor of the office space he kept his days - his small software engineering firm. He had gone home for the day 4 hours ago. How did he end back up here? What the hell is going on? Charles asked himself. As he climbed to his feet, he felt a weight on his back - from his waist, looking to his side, he was shocked to find the red tube-looking thing hanging from his waist.

Noelle quickly pulled her mobile in panic. She didn’t know what to do anymore… she had to talk with someone… to hide with someone… she needed a friend in this moment. Without even thinking she wrote her message.” Jason, please… come over to my place…I’m afraid… I was attack… stuff happened…pls… Q_Q!” She typed it lighting fast with trained skill as she also added her adress and sent it, just before someone else showed up.

“!!!” She made a surprised sound as she nearly jumped back from having someone show up out of nowhere and point at her. Her face expressed pure horror and fear at this very moment. Why was this happening to her, all she wanted was to be able to talk. She never wanted for people to attack or chase her… or for her to probably kill and hurt other people.

Very possible scenarios ran through her mind… she had the ethawl… she could hit him with something… Or she could just run away… the latter seemed better for her. She was slowly moving back…

“What do you want…” She barely opened her mouth as she forgot to keep careful about the noise. The air stirred, turning into high strong sound waves. The voice that Aliron could hear was scared, afraid. She was visibly shivering. All she wanted at this very moment was to hide away somewhere.

“Do you want to hurt me too… What have I don’t to you!?” She screamed as tears swelled in her eyes, her powers creating high pitched sound waves. The air stirred… glasses on the windows nearby, started to vibrate briefly before calming down. She realized what she was doing and quickly put a hand by her mouth to remind herself to keep quiet.

Strangely enough, the dragon who oddly resembled Aurelian Sol recognized her and Nova, claiming that she had seen them at Darkwell Diner earlier. Noticing the gauntlets on Nova's hands, her brows furrowed in confusion as well. Vi? Those look so familiar. Turning to Nova, she was relieved that the girl wasn't freaking out. Turning her head to the purple monster, she squinted and also noticed something odd. "Is that Kha'Zix?" Xhen covered her mouth. "We're all characters from League of Legends what the heck!" She excitedly but also fearfully concluded. "Yeah, a long night for sure. We need to figure out why and how this happened to us," Xhen replied to Nova.

Suddenly feeling the building they were standing on shake a little, Xhen's ears twitched as she heard a commotion going on just below their feet. It sounded like a low rumbling. Out of curiosity, she hopped over the side of the roof still clinging to the ledge as she peeked in through one of the windows on the side. There was a small flash of light which caused her to shut her eyes tightly to prevent from being blinded and when she reopened them, a young man with black and white hair was suddenly laying in the previously empty room before her. He looked as confused as she did.

Afraid to get caught, she pushed her feet off the window and lunged forward, landing softly on all fours. "Alright, we need to figure out what exactly is going on. So you're Aurelian Sol," she pointed at the violet fellow, "You're Kha'Zix and you are Vi." She turned to Nova last. "I'm Ahri. So weird..."

"... And I said, 'That's a terrible idea. When do we start?' Two days later, we film the commercial and we put it up. Boom! Instant celebrity for a week. Can't say I miss the attention though." Liam smiled as Amanda laughed hard enough to double over. The two shots of tequila, two shots of gin, and a screwdriver probably had something to do it as well. Who knew such a tiny lady could hold so much alcohol?

They had gone to a local bar, one Liam was sure was reasonably safe due to growing up in the area, after their shift had ended at the gym. She had offered to pay as a thank you, and he had countered that he didn't really drink. Nonetheless, he still had an enjoyable evening. He wasn't even mildly buzzed, only drinking two beers over the course of the their stay at the bar. He smiled slightly as his companion wobbled slightly, her feet trying to follow some unseen line on the ground and her hands out stretched for balance. She eventually gave up in a huff, before suddenly grabbing his hand and pulling him into an alley.

"Wha? Hey, what are you doing?" Liam asked as he was pulled along with surprising strength. Amanda just giggled in response before drunkenly spinning around and pulling him down into a kiss. He could feel her tongue poking on his lips,as if begging for an entrance that he refused. The dizzyingly sweet smell of pine, heady sweat, enticing peach shampoo, and flashes of orange tickled his nose as she came up for air. He could feel her arms grasping and pawing at his beaten, old, olive cargo jacket in a wild, desperate manner. He looked down in alarm as Amanda broke the kiss, and looked up into his eyes with her own watery orbs. The guady, blindingly vibrant glare of neon made the color of her eyes indistinguishable, but the shattered and sorrowful look threw him off guard as the woman let out a sad smile, before quickly turning around and out of his reach. By the time he realized what had happened, Amanda had already disappeared into the crowd and he was left alone.

Well, damn. Liam brought a hand up to his head and began to slide it through his hair when he felt his hair stand on end. He felt the figures slide up behind him, knew their intentions before the gun was even halfway out of the first young man's pocket. A dangerous place to put a fire arm Liam thought distantly as he ducked and rose into an uppercut that sent the young gang banger a good few inches into the air.

Shaking his hand slightly, he turned to face the group of thugs that had planned on preying on him. He didn't have time for them, he had to find Amanda and find out why she had kissed him, and why her eyes seemed so broken for so cheerful a person. HE didn't have time for these small fr-

His thought process was cut short as he felt his the blade on his arm enter the stomach of one of the thugs. He watched as the impaled man, only slightly older than him really watched him with fear, blood trickling out of his eyes. Liam calmly slid his blade out of its bloody sheath, listened as the dying man let out a pitiful rattle before dying. Cracking his neck and rolling his shoulders under the familiar, yet unfamiliar weight of the cloak that sat on his shoulders. The hood obscured his peripheral view somewhat, but not enough to be a hindrance, and he knew it obscured his though he couldn't see it. Kneeling down, he began wiping the blade strapped on his arm on the clothes of the man he just killed. He could feel the panic, the confusion and the denial but he packed, no stuffed the into a box in his mind and shoved it deep into his mind. Turning around, he was surprised no one had come into the alleyway, when he noticed all the nights were off. He hadn't noticed as he had simply adapted to the lack of light.

His lips tight, he examined the damage he caused. Most had simply had their throats slit cleanly, so fine that they had yet to truly bleed. Others had simply received a thrust into their backs, piercing skin and shredding organs. Efficient, cold, mechanical. The fear that sprung out was quickly stamped down and kicked back to it's fellows as he compartmentalized, breaking down information and filing them away. The police would arrive soon, best to take this time make his escape.

Taking a final glance around the alley, Lian stepped into the embrace of the shadows. He would have to find Amanda, but that could wait until he was far away enough to not worry about retaliation. Somewhere, deep down, locked with all the other useless trappings of his self, Liam could only scream in silence as he consciously suppressed himself. He would probably have a breakdown tomorrow, when his compartmentalization wasn't as in control. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Random Alley

Ack! The voices lady was in great distress, which was in turn causing Aliron to be in distress. "No, no, no voices lady, you got me all wrong. I just wanted to see where the voices were coming from." Aliron explained while backing away, hands up to show he had no intent to harm. Which was perhaps more clearly shown when he stumbled over his suitcase and crashed to the ground. Aliron rubbed his head and looked up from where he was on the ground. "Oops. Er, see? I'm harmless, please don't run away again." he said with a cheery grin. It was weird though. Her voice was different from the voices and he'd only heard her talk in his head not with her mouth. Plus the voices sounded agitated and she just sounded scared and like she might hit him with her instrument thingy. He just wanted to figure out why things were so wierd.

As he was relaxing in the dark on one of the rooftops. Ben noticed some people appearing on one of the closer buildings. Seeing that he carefully approached the place to see some people that looked like the ones from the Diner, but they looked different, a lot like the champions from League of Legends. He saw Ahri and after some time the othrr girl appeared just like Vi. Seeing them made Ben sure what was going on. Seeing Aurelion Sol didnt even supRyze him.

Slowly getting closer and closer the others could see him. He was trying not to scare anyone, he knew he was pretty much the most terrifying thing tonight. As he approached them Ben spoke with his voice held back: "Hello people" after a short pause he continued. "I see that we are all transformed into champions... Ben retracted his claws as he spoke and moved closer to Ahri and Aurelion.
"Now, I know its not the best time to appear with my looks, but i just cant help it. This night started off with so much potential! Stopping at a reasonable distance Ben quickly observed the three champ. Seeing that most of them is pretty calm or they might even know each other made Ben a bit more cautious about their reaction.

And she was right-- the people in front of her were not hostile at all. Whitney couldn't help but let out a sigh in relief. It appeared that she would not have to raise a hand in defense another time. The thought of those shadow people popping out of nowhere terrified her to no end, but she shoved such thoughts to the back of her mind as she glanced between the two females. "My name is Whitney..." she began, sounding a little unsure of herself. She still had to get over the sound of her echoing voice. An unknown power rippled through her, but she didn't even know the beginnings of the spells that ran through her veins.

Suddenly, some strange creature leaped on the roof with them. She turned her head, and, as she looked upon it, she felt her skin crawl in anxiety. "What in God's name is that?" Whitney hissed, trembling in shock. Completely ignoring what it said, she glanced over at the two females that approached her. It sure looked a lot like sort of void creature... but all she knew was that they would have to take care of it before that storm came any closer.

It took Noelle a good while to calm down to the point she even heard what Aliron was saying. She still was in a defensive stance, her hand on the floating musical instrument, wondering and hoping she can blast him with a magic bolt if he tries something funny.

To her surprise, the man fumbled upon his own suitcase, causing him to fall. A brief thought about hitting him with the ethawl rushed her mind, though she didn’t really want to hurt him also. The music instrument was big and if she hit him with it, it was going to do more than just hurt a little, she guessed.

“Wh…what voices are you talking about?” She barely opened her mouth, but the magic as always kicked in, causing sound waves to reach out in all directions. Still as long as she kept it low as much as possible, it at least didn’t cause the glass windows around to vibrate to the point she feared them shattering. She then remembered him hearing her back at the diner where she didn’t open her mouth…’ Are you hearing my thoughts?’ She thought, testing if he was going to reply to it. Mind you she still wanted to run away and she probably would do soon because she had a bad feeling and she wanted to put an ice patch on her lip.

Samantha's face was dug into her hands as tears streamed down her face, only to turn to steamy vapor as they hit her very hot hands. She tried as much as she could to keep the fire from erupting again, but this strange new nightmare was practically beyond her control. It was all dependent on the woman's volatile emotions. She mainly cried about how confused and frustrated she was with this new fire power and how it had destroyed any kind of friendliness dear Evelyn ever had for her. How would she explain all of this when Sam could hardly explain it to herself. It wasn't just fire though, she found that she had formed scales along her hands and arms. These scales were deep red and shined like polished, glass stones.

As her head was buried in her hands, she heard a hard knock at her window. Samantha lashed out, yelling "Go away!" despite it being muffled slightly. This outburst was followed by her hands springing alight again. To this Samantha cursed and frustratingly screamed as she tried to put it out. It was in this same moment that a large crash sounded as the White Supremacy's window shattered and a jacket came to smother her hands. Samantha looked in shock at the woman who had come to douse the fire. She recognized her from the place she had went this morning. This woman had stood up for her. However, that didn't make Sam any less upset at her from breaking the window. "You broke my window!" She accused. "Why the fuck did you--" She cut herself off, realizing the woman had been trying to be a good samaritan. Her furious expression turned to a mix of great frustration and annoyance. She know she shouldn't be mad at the other, but at the same time it was all just one more putrid turn to pile onto the mountain of shit she was having to deal with.

Samantha roughly pushed away the jacket with annoyance. Once the jacket was gone it revealed her hands without any sign of burns, blisters, or even any kind of redness, instead there was those same scales. The whole image showed clearly in the moonlight for a second before, alarmed, Samantha stuffed them behind her back. She glared at the woman outside the car as if the whole thing was her fault. "Whatever, just leave me alone." She tried to make her voice sound firm, but there was a part that still quivered.

She smiled as she watched the snow clouds envelop the sky over the city, and as it came towards her, block by block. Snow started to drift from the sky and a icy wind whispered in her ears. Strangely, despite her wearing a nightgown and gym shorts underneath, she felt very comfortable in these chilly temperatures. Her phone buzzed, she glanced at it. It was a weather notification:

Warning! Sudden snowstorm! For more details, please tune in to Channel 3 News.

Claire shrugged. Whoops? I don't know anything about that. she jokingly thought to herself. The snow started to fall faster and it wouldn't be long before it would collect on the ground. Winter in the middle of summer...

She heard the clashing sound of a window breaking.

"You broke my window!" She accused. "Why the fuck did you--"

Claire spun around, seeing the white jeep. She saw a woman swinging her arms at someone. Was she okay, did she need help? Claire clenched a fist before striding over, feeling brave.

"Whatever, just leave me alone."

"H-Hello, is everything alright here?" She called out as she approached. Claire then took notice of Iris and the broken window of the white Jeep. "Oh, Iris? What're you doing here?" she asked, surprised to see the daughter of the diner's owner, jacket in her hands.
"Do you know her?" She asked, her blue eyes gazing at the driver of the car. Claire recognized her from the diner earlier. She was the one with the familiar face. She also felt very warm around her, which was unusual considering the sudden temperature and weather change.

"Call me Nova. Nice to meet 'cha Whit."

The girl's attention was still off the roof as she took in the surrounding and ever chilling air. She kinda regretted going out without a sweatshirt but this wasn't really expected. Odd. "You know anymore? For some reason I doubt it's just us three." Somewhat wondering more about what was going on distracted her for a bit, before she saw one of the men from before pacing down the street, looking up on the rooftops for her. Seems like he didn't get the message. Still, Alexis didn't want that many more issues, so she turned away, propping her hands behind her and on the edge of the rooftop, leaning on the edge.

Another voice approached, and Whitney seemed to have some fear in her voice. In the night it seemed disturbingly dark, and knowing... Well anything about what happened, darker colors and the void seemed to bring with them nothing but trouble. With one fist defensively up, Nova shifted her attention towards the void creature. It was a bit odd only needing one hand to defend herself, at the moment, but it worked well. Feeling the power between her hands was quite the experience, though she knew what to do in the event of a fight breaking out up here on the roof. She didn't really want one, but hell, it'd be fun. Not dropping someone instantly, but testing this out might be pretty "Back up, back up. Friendly?" She figured asking, getting ready to charge her fist in the event this temporary standstill turned a bit violent.

| TIME DOESN'T LAST FOREVER |
EKKO

As he came to, he looked around again, walking over the window, he saw his own reflection. "What the fuck" He asked, looking at his hands - their hue darker than they normally were, his skin color looking more like his father's. He also noticed that his clothes were changed. His Baseball Tee was now some kind of armored plate, with a red core in it. Behind him laid the red glowing bat? And on his hip hung the red tube looking thing.

"What the fuck" he repeated, a third time. As he threw his hand to the side, the red bat vanished from behind him and appeared in his hand. "Whoa"

Looking out from his window, he could see the rooftop below - where a small group of people were standing. They were all oddly-brightly colored, and resembling League Of Legends Champions. He could clearly pick out a girl looking like Ahri. "What the fuck"

And then came the grotesque monster, resembling the Invisible Insect Predator - Kha Zix. He pieced it together. Somehow, he had taken on the form of Ekko - his favorite character in League Of Legends. He had somehow gotten moved here - into his office from his home. And he felt powerful - more powerful than he had ever before.

He walked backwards, getting ready to pick up speed. "Go for broke.." He said, as he began sprinting towards the window, aiming at breaking the glass and jumping through it, reaching the rooftop below.

Much to his surprise, he dashed through it, without breaking it, materalizing on the other side just as he vanished. Landing on the rooftop with a roll, just like he had practiced in gymnastics years ago. "What the fuck" he repeated for the fifth time in the span of equally as many minutes. Picking himself up, looking at the other guys whom all seemed to share features from characters of Runeterra.
